a pirate manga fan realy SHOULD.
I prefer those made around Hunchbacks time, till Hercules, which is the only "new aproach" movie which stil had the old spirit. All the rest turned into hyper animated comerce.
I just watched The Great Mouse Detective. God, so many memories to take in. Especially the music that played whenever the toymaker's machines would shake around.
@Mr.:
Hard to believe this guy used to freak me out as a kid. He is by far one of the greatest Disney villains.
Yeah. I think it's awesome how throughout most of the movie he tried to play himself off as a gentleman and then at the big showdown…
! He goes completely feral
Does anybody have a clip of the when Ratigan dies/goes nuts?
(never seen it)
EDIT: Never mind, I found it

Disney= MONEY! Enough said.
uh huh, and…..?
uh huh, and…..?
It's a bomb and successful corporation…Has been for years..uh huh...
Uh huh…. Thanks for that bit of info.
With that out of the way, there's no doubt that this is my favorite "Tearjerker" Disney moment.

You have to actually have seen the movie to really understand this scene. It almost makes me cry everytime. And I'm not ashamed to admit it. In fact, the movie in it's entirety had an emotional impact on me, and that's after watching it now. I never really understood what was going on here as a kid, so I didn't care about this scene until recently.
One of my favorite series from Disney would have to be Gummi Bears. It consistently had good animation, wonderful characters and plots, and it even got a series finale that tied up all the loose ends.
There needs to be more series that have the quality of Gummi Bears IMO.
just saw/heard "Hellfire" for the first time.God,Frollo's awesome.
just saw/heard "Hellfire" for the first time.God,Frollo's awesome.
"ill find her if I have to burn down all of Paris!"
goood material-and hellfire is damn epic.
Seconded. I too saw Hellfire for the first time yesterday. Never saw all of HOND, but now I kinda do want to see it all.
You guys watch the Disney Channel?
That so Raven and Hannah Montana??
Those shows are pretty good.
^Not really :/
I agree that Frollo is a great villain. I had forgotten how epic Hellfire was, until I saw it recently.
I just saw Song of the South. The only thing I remember about it prior to watching it just now was the Zip a Dee Doo Dah song. In all honesty, I can tell why some people were offended by it, but didn't see much wrong with the movie myself. It must've been the exaggerated accents. But, once you get passed all that, it's not all that bad if you ask me.
I've heard that Disney even wants to release it on DVD, but they're afraid of offending anyone.
Disney channel has lost alot of stuff in todays age of intrest
i miss the days of Mouse works,Wonderful world of disney, and other classic disney cartoons(Talespin,Gummi bears,Goof troop, etc)
only classics I see on the main disney channel now are little Mermaid:TAS and somether 90's cartoon i forgot the name of.

Enough with the one image spam posts please. Sometimes one is funny but you guys ruin it with your bandwagon jumping.
Any updates on the Princess & the Frog?

Sword in the stone on DVD again! Yay!
Want.
Merlin totally made this movie. Nothing like a senile old wizard who manages to seriously kick ass at the same time.
I've sort of jumped on the Disney DVD bandwagon. There are some upcoming releases that I'm looking forward to. That, and the Saludos Amigos/Three Caballeros boxed set.
I might have to cave and buy the Sword in the Stone DVD. Such a wonderful movie. Though I think I loved Madam Mim even more than Merlin in it.
But seeing that Little Mermaid 3 above it is scary; I'd actually forgotten about it til now. The fact that it's trailer shows NOTHING about it's plot terrfies me even more.
I still can't believe the Disney that produces such PC movies nowadays is the same Disney that showed death in several movies, most notably the Lion King. They still make some good movies, but I haven't seen any that approach the level of violent character interaction that they had in the 90s.

I agree that Frollo is a great villain. I had forgotten how epic Hellfire was, until I saw it recently.
I saw it before, but forgot. It didnt impress me,mostly cause it was the czech rendition. Our dubing capabilities have gone down hill ever since after Ramayana. The only recent dub I found better then the german one (German PWN most of europe with their dubs) was Princes Mononoke, the rest-could be rounded down to the sheer horibility that was the voice casting for "Digimon".Prime example right there.
I think Rasputin is the only one who is equivalent to Frollo in terms of badassery (I know hes not disney, but stil) .
Anyway-saw your a Hades fan.The german hercules dub is real good,if youd wanna see it-and the german hades beat the english one hands down-hes as fast talking, but hes got a deeper voice and he shouts a lot. Also, the fates scene is actualy intense and the whole forecast part has you having shivers."UND DU HADES-WURST DEN COSMOS-REGIEEREN!"-WONDERFULL,I TELL YOU.
Got a clip of German Hades?
Watching foreign dubs of Disney movies is pretty amusing. I remember watching Hercules in Spanish. Whoever voiced Hades sounded like he was trying so hard to imitate James Woods, and it sounded pretty funny too.
HERE!
Mr. Lucci reminds me that Hades is one of my favorite Disney villains. I also find Izma & Kronk to be hilarious! Madam Mim kicks loads of ass too, since she's a reclusive, sociopathic old witch.
Hmm, I still like James Woods' voice better. That was a very good alternate though.
he does a real good job being scarry shouting. Also, his common speach is quite good and I can honestly say that the german DUB is much more epic with scenes then the english original.God,id love to find a german clip of the "prediction",its real intense, unlike the kinda droll way it goes in the english one.
Disney makes some okay stuff, but they tend to fail at life most of the time. Case in point: turning the Disney Channel into a cesspool a political clichés, ruining Toon Disney, ending the Disney Afternoon, unleashing JETIX! onto the world, and generally treating no one with any respect. The fact that they have no intention of ever releasing X-men DVDs just ruins them to me.
@Mr.:
Got a clip of German Hades?
cant find one. just songs from the movie in german
posting Be prepared in Japanese for now. will look for the german clip and english clips for Hades.
nGwa1fPwl_Y
Ok found one german dub clip, but, Hades only speaks 2 words after the song but i will keep looking
Ok..NVM found one,with the 4 element monsters
Ui6Lx6nCEBA
EDIT:why isnt this working?
Can I hear the prediction scene in german? You've got me interested.
@Mr.:
Can I hear the prediction scene in german? You've got me interested.
that and 3 other scenes are available but the prediction scene I either cannot find or its the one i posted just does not work
thats esentialy the one I posted, only not embeded.
Lucci-Ill try,but youtube is a bitch. They dubed it twice, actualy, once for the game and another time for the movie and both time Hades is voiced by the same guy.
ive been looking for an hour and nothing.Only english twice and a half times (dont ask).
Hmm.I could search elsewhere, but the chances are prety slim.
The only foreign-dubbed Disney movie I've ever seen was the Spanish Lion King in my Spanish class, and I really don't remember anything about it.
Well, since I stated something on topic, I'd now like to state something off topic. How many here have seen Alice in Wonderland? One of the most underappreciated Disney movies, and personally I believe in some ways it was ahead of its time, mostly humor-wise. There was actually some outrageous random humor that we see in a lot of shows today. Take for example the courtroom scene.
Queen of Hearts: What do you have to add to this?
March Hare: Nothing whatever.
QOH: Nothing whatever?!
MH: NOTHING WHATEVER!!
QOH: (To jurors) Write that down!
[Later the Door Mouse's testimony]
Door Mouse: Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder…
QOH: That's the most important piece of evidence yet.

I love watching that film too.
I love the poems that cheshir cat and the caterpillar say and the scene when they paint the roses red and the tugley woods scene too.
One of my top 5 film basically
I remember having to watch some of the Spanish dubbed Disney and Pixar movies in class over the years in high school. The ones I've seen were:
The Emperor's New Groove
Lilo & Stitch
Monsters Inc.
Toy Story
Finding Nemo
Hercules
Robin Hood
As for Alice in Wonderland, the randomness was one of the biggest turn-ons for me. The bizarre scenes and absurdity just kept piling up to the point where you have to ask yourself "What the hell is going on?!", and laugh at the same time.

Toei and disney joining up to show some Japan only disney shows
I might post this in the anime forum but not sure yet
A Japanese girl named Hanako will play Stitch's sidekick in the new show and the imaginary story will take place in a southern Japanese island, instead of in Hawaii as in the original, the company said in a statement.
They're replacing Lilo? Wow.
Wonder if we'll get any of these dubbed over here on our Disney channels.

I was gonna mention that if nobody else did. What an interesting decision for Disney to do anime. I wonder how this'll work out?
Well they've been involved with Kingdom Hearts already, so it's not too surprising
What I DO find surprising tho with KH's popularity that they haven't produced an anime yet.

I think they tried but the idea was turned down for some reason. It's around somewhere.
This contract isn't gonna last.
I just feel it won't.
hence so far there is 2 KH manga series but maybe the idea for a anime will appear soon. There are alot of Disney Mangas but NOT animes.
Ok.. Any opinions on the Disney/Henson Collab movies of the 80's?
I have only seen labyrinth and parts of Dark crystal, but I want to see return to Oz
