All this propaganda and red and nothing parodying Soviet Communism? For shame.

That wouldn't be very original ;-)
-
Heh, the "meet exotic women" ad made me chuckle…
The new episode was a good'un, I'd say. We get some character development for the Fire Nation group (aka Zuko and pals), and a badass new villain to fight Aang and co. (the Combustion Man, whose power is AWESOME).
Next week's episode is gonna be fucking awesome, though...
-
Awesome episode,I can't believe that there was so much fanservice in a Nick show look at Ty Lee she's hot!,Aang vs "The Combustion man" was cool,No preview!?
-
Zuko playing the part of the jealous boyfriend was brilliant. I don't know why, but I had this instant assumption from the preview that the Fire Nation group at the beach would end up being filler. And the ending with Zuko and Co. crashing the party was the funniest, especially after all the drama beforehand.
-
Didn't saw the chapter yet, but I couldn't hold myself off of the spoilers, because I was specting something more fillerish, I felt a little for Azula, one thing is that your working father sees you as a failure, but that your own mother sees you like a monster, shatering reveal for a villian:
no good-core + Distant, but proud, father + Hatefull mother + Fire Nation royalty mentality = Azula
-
Oh.my.god. This episode is hilarious, seeing my favourite fourteen year old female villain exchanging flirt tips with ty lee is just O_O
-
LOL this episode was just too funny. "My own mother thought I was a monster… She was right of course but it still hurt."
-

yeah, that was a good one^^
But what the hell is wrong with combustion man. His blasts are ridiculously powerfull. This guy will bring us some brutal and awesome fights this season.
-
That guy is so badass, he just shovels in truckloads of what the kids call "GAR" into Avatar…
-
This was a great episode. It showed a cuter side of Azula. We also learned more about Ty Lee and Mai.
Also, that assassin is badass. I wonder what type of bending he uses. If any.
-

Yes, she really opened up there, and i never would have imagined she's so interested in socialising.
CARE FOR A CUP OF COFFEE PRETTY BOY!?!

Going out on a limb here, but maybe fire?
-
He probably means if he can also use thunder.
-
How can Azula win and fail at the same time
ITS INGENIOUS -
My guess is still that the Combustion Man is using the cosmic energy Pathik mentioned to generate explosions to use with his firebending.
-
Is he using a prosthetic leg?
-
yeah looks like it… if i were toph i would jump at him and rip it of with metalbending...
something completely different:Who else thinks Azula is mental and will kill everybody at the end of book 3? (and I mean EVERYBODY) -
Not really…............
-
Is he using a prosthetic leg?
Yep. I'm guessing that the development of his combustion powers involved a great deal of trial and error.
-
What i really liked about his first attack was the lack of any background music. That silence during the first three blasts made that scene special imo.
-
Best part of the assassin battle was Aang bending the air around the explosion. He saw the matrix
sigh I can't look at Azula's gang as antagonists anymore :(
Too much win -

OMG
He's a FMA ripoff
!!!!
Anyway, I enjoyed the mother being introduced. I'd like to see some development there.

Who, Zuko's mother?
Go watch season 2 episode 7, Zuko Alone
-
@Sogeking:
OMG
He's a FMA ripoff
!!!!Entirely possible; though he might also be a reference to that Marvel supervillain Nitro, who can make things explode with his touch. If I recall correctly, he was defeated on one incident when he was tricked into putting his hands on his own buttocks.
Or maybe that was another exploding supervillain… it's hard to keep track of them.
-

something completely different:Who else thinks Azula is mental and will kill everybody at the end of book 3? (and I mean EVERYBODY)Change the EVERYBODY by Ozai and Iroh, and the end by the middle and we have the same theory, the final battle is suposed to be Aang vs the Fire Lord, whomever he might be in the moment, anyone of the royal family could be the final boss.
-
Woah Azula the final boss would blow me away!^^
But really: what do you think will happen to Azula at the end? I don´t think she will become peaceful when the war is over and i can´t imagine her to flee ( you heard all that "I´m a princess of honour" crap she always talks about)…so sooner or later she has to be killed off... -
Did any one else see this? Zuko(the baby) Iroh(hold baby Zuko) and Lu Ten(building the sand castle). So maybe Zuko will help Iroh out some way out of remorse
-
Mr. Laser Eye will hit Toph and cure her blindness, as it is technically a primitive form of laser eye surgery.
-
Hey guys?
How did Toph tell that Aang is only wearing his trunks when he was swimming?Isnt' she like BLIND? (and her feet was underwater)
-
Hey guys?

Possible explanations are that she could feel him dropping his stuff before jumping into the lake or that they were talking about it before.
-
Or maybe Toph just knows that Aang doesn't wear much when he swims, and obviously she knows he has tatoos. Put two and two together (Avatar tatoos plus being in the Fire Nation) and she wouldn't need to see to make that observation.
Anywho, the newest episode was pretty interesting. It was nice to get some development for Mai and Tai Lee, and we even saw some vulnerability from Azula which was nice.
And Elric, I totally agree about the fight scene being stronger without any music. It made it seem much more urgent and dangerous.
-
Preview of the "The Avatar and the Firelord"
This is gonna be one awesome history lesson :)
-
Hmm I guess that's what Roku meant when he said he saw the war coming.
-
Based on that clip, the Avatar seems kind of restricting to me. The fact that he halts any kind of expansion or war between nations is kind of irksome and reeks of a dictator more than a patron saint. I know the Fire Nation needs to be stopped and all that, but I that just troubled me for some reason.
On another note, the Combustion Man kicks ass. As long as he doesn't speak in anything but grunts, and pursues Aang and co. relentlessly, he'll be a welcome addition to the season. And by relentlessly, I mean anytime they get relaxed, for even second BAM, Combustion Man starts blowing shit up. Anywhere they rest BAM, Combusion Man is there. I'm looking forward to a Terminator style relentlessness from him.
-
Makes me wonder why Kyoshi didn't stop Chin the Great when he was expanding. I mean she did kill him, but only after he tried taking over her home.
I assume they try not to interfere as much as possible.
-
Well, from Kyoshi's talk with the Earth King, my guess is that Avatars usually don't worry about internal political squabbling. Little wonder why actually considering how Kyoshi's intervention wound up winning The War for the Fire Nation.
Perhaps Avatars just prevent wars between the Four Nations in an effort to preserve balance between the elements, but consider themselves above such petty concerns as to which person is ruling what kingdom at what time. Well, so long as said rulers mind their own business and don't meddle in Avatar affairs anyway. If that's true, Chin might have been able to conquer the entire Earth Kingdom and Kyoshi would have left him along so long as Chin have her a wide berth.
Of course, that might just be Kyoshi and other Avatars are more interested in the world around them.
-
Hey guys I got some pretty cool news.
Avatar has been getting a lot of air time in the uk and they have episode 6 out there. 7 and 8 are being shown today and 9 and 10 will be tomorrow. Anyway you can get episode 6 here.
-
Alright, I have a question about Avatar. I just recently got into it, and I love it and stuff; but…
Why doesn't the show have an actual opening? It just has one of those short description intros, that usually play after the actual opening song. What's the deal?
What's the dealio?
-
Because they spent their budget on things that actually matter.
-
^I think that openings matter alot… >.>
-
I'm late to the news, but here is in streaming, without subtitles, the avatar and the fire lord
-
@Lobster:

The opening we have is fine. It describes the plot and the animation is pretty nice. Plus if there were to be an opening it would probably just be a bunch of scenes from the show and would take more time out of it than theres the "last time" clips. It's not like a japanese cartoon where they have time for a 2 minute openings, endings, next time previews, and commercials.

That's not an opening. It's a little summary before the show. That's generally something you see before or after an opening. (like the Gold Roger into)

…
American shows have opening songs too... Infact I can't even think of one that doesn't, besides Avatar.
I'm currently at _"Book 2, Section Earth, Volume 3, Chapter 2"_ (dang, why do they have to make it so confusing? xD) -I've noticed that Ang has some serious issues with Appa… Was there in any history with that? (I haven't seen book 1) -And I'm pretty sure that without Katara, the group would fall apart/cease to exist in an instant. She should probably be the leader. Anyone agree?
-
@Lobster:
(I haven't seen book 1)
O_o Huh?
Well then stop watching book2 and go back to book1.
-

I don't have access to it… I got Book 2, Earth, Volume 2 as a gift. So it seems that's my starting point. (When Toff joins) I wanted to start at the beginning, but then I got the next Volume too, so I guess that I'll just continue the series from here. ^^;
But I was a bit confused about Ang verbally destroying Toff, and slapping Katara, after Appa got stolen in the desert. It's like, he looses all common sense when Appa is missing. :wassat: -

Isn't it obvious that skipping the first of only three seasons is kind of a bad idea?
