sry but i have one question
Oda said that we won't see brook with flesh?
it must of been a homos shadow as cindry isnt atracted to hogback any more
Hmm I traced Hogback's silouhette.
Come to think of it, the fat Eggman/Penguin-like one looks nothing like the silouette. Now, I know Oda isn't always faithful to his silouttes, but the Old Man looks more like it than Hogback does.
That's just how Chopper Imagined him. It's like way back when we had the explanation of the Schichibukai. Johny and Yusaku imagined them as a bunch of handsome swordmen, but now we know that they are as bizarre as Luffy in shape. And yeah, the later despiction of Hogback actually resembles him.
I thik Hogback was just a Big Fan of Cindry, and he went nuts when his favorite artist died, but many have already come up with that theory.
By the way, did Cindry died 10 years ago or it was before Hogback even joined? Anyways, Hogback being an obsessed fan seems to be the most reasonable question, and since he stopped interacting with the outside world, then he could have given a damn about his looks.
Interesting Note: It looks like Hogback was in a funeral, perhaps Cyndry's?
Maybe that was when he swore to revive who he tought was the greatest actress or whatever he felt for Cindry. It's just doesn't make sense that there was a girl among doctors, so yeah, it could be a funeral, some event where fans were allowed…
Standing by a coffin may also represent his attempt to revive dead for demostrational purposes. In the old days (Real Life world), doctors with so-called miracle cures would take to the streets to show the people what they had discovered.
I keep wondering if Hogback wanted to revive the deceased but kept failing so went with Moria because he could kinda revive the dead.
I've recently got back into One Piece, waiting for the W7 arc to end so I could start with the next arc…and well, I'm glad I started reading scans with this.
I love it so far...the characters all amuse me, and the atmosphere overall I like. It's creepy yet humorous, and Brook rules.
Too bad it'll be short probably...but I can't wait to see it in Animated form, which hopefully will keep the creepy-atmosphere too it.
I definetly am loving Thriller Bark. I'm glad it seems to moving along fast. I wish all the arcs were around this size, that way, we could fit in more arcs.
I don't know if it's a General Thought or what. Is anybody curious about what is the Florian Triangle (dunno if spelled correctly)? I mean, Brook has been there for decades, so definitely is not related to TB. I usually wonder where all the fog comes from.
GL phenomenon, maybe? There have been stuff like that which weren't given an explenation, only the fact they're there. Like, the magnetic force, Logs and Eternals, Skypiea and so on. Don't think it's gonna be explained.
Well fog can have several explainations naturally… Hotsprings under ocean floor making the water above evapourate and then a cool flow of air above them would probaberly be a good explaination.

Sure? Brook has been there for 40 years with no chance to escape. I think we'll get an explanation when we'll have his feedback. There must be something that prevented him to escape…

Brooke has a terrible sense of direction. He said it himself.

Come on guys… Even Zoro in 40 years would escape the FT... only reason without explaining FT would be he was without log pose, but again in 40 years you should be able to get somewhere...
And also he doesnt have a working rudder iirc
another member to team "No sense of direction"
And also he doesnt have a working rudder iirc
yeah but that was after TB went in the FT… after Moria took Brook's shadow...
Brook was there because of a broken ship rudder. Until he came across FT he had no way of escape. And with his shadow stolen he dared not escape.
yeah but that was after TB went in the FT… after Moria took Brook's shadow...
It's conceivable that Thriller Bark was the first ship Brooke came in contact with since he died. The Florian Triangle could be large enough that only a massive ship such as that would ever come in contact with another ship, so Brooke finally had the Rudder Parts he needed to get out… only to have his shadow taken.
It's a great change of pace after the epicness and depth of Water 7/Enies Lobby.
Plus..
<–- is awesome. ;D

Hell YEAH!!!!
YOHOHOHO!!!!!!!
YOHONO! Please stop with the huge Yohohos.
This is a great arc though, I prefer it more than Davy Back fight. Lots of action, drama and comedy, plus a new crewmember and a shichibukai? What more could you ask for?
People who don't get pissed whenever i Brook-Laugh….
YOHOHOHOHO
Thriller bark is quicker becoming my fav arc of all time. What with all the craziness happening everywhere, Oz and all the other super awesome strawhat counterparts and I love the fight match-ups so far.

Likewise! I like parts of all the arcs but this one has alot of characters I can sink my teeth into.

In general, I've liked each arc better than the last.
Except for the little garden, drum island, and especially Davy Back Fight.
Thriller Bark is no exception.

My favorites are Drum Island, Davy Back Fight, Water 7, and Enies Lobby. But they're all good, and I like Thriller Bark lots and lots. ;D

< Not that drum island was bad, i just liked Lougetown more.
But i was not a big fan of the Davy Back Fight…It just seemed far less dramatic than Skypia and so soon after it.
Thriller Bark, Enies Lobby, and Skypia are my favorites.

thats what the point of DBF arc was for. The same for thiller bark no where near as serious as Enies Lobby but its still good. I like it a lot and i love the way Oda can switch up from seriousness to comedy with his arcs and during the story.

It was mostly the fact that i hate Foxy with a roaring passion.
Well,at first I was interested, then a litle denerved, because Oda started another long arc right after EL ("long"-Davy Back fight was in not more then 19 chapters and ended, but TB has 22 chapters so far and there are stil things to do-but maybe it wont be that long) ,but the arc's greatness won me over in the end (with the apearance of the suprise zombies)-
PS:To pirating-the jack in the box said that the treasue isnt there and nami heard it,so theres a chance they actualy WILL pirate a bit.
PS:To Usopp's new clothes:"NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!"
yeah, usopps new wardrobe kinda confused me.
and on the story at first i wasnt digging it, i was afraid it was gonna be stereotypical and dark. but I should have known better! somehow oda in his usual oda way is making even a story about zombies lighthearted and funny, but still can be serious with the whole moria thing. i really like the way this ark switches back and forth between humor and grimness. but then they all do that to some degree, right?
also at first i was expecting it to be alot shorter, like little garden or something, but it looks like its really going on.

We had a ''Heaven'' type arc with Skypeia so I think this is like the ''Hell'' type arc. Either way, they both rock. ;D
I have a Theory- zombies can use more than one DF cus' they can give DF to just parts of they buddies like objects.. what do you think?
what you mean an arm is going to be a penguine zoan and the hips going to be lion zoan and his legs rabbit zoan?
so far the only DFs inanimate objects has had is zoan. (probably because the power couldnt activate otherwise.. but there might be more too it)
we dont know enough about DFs and why people that eat 2 explode (we had jayaburas explanation but its kinda doubtful) but somehow i dont think it would be possible to have 2 jsut because you are a zombie.
If it was a DF like Luffy's or Alvida's that's forever activated, or maybe even every Paramecia, I'd understand.. but I don't think it can happen with Zoan or Logia who require consciousness to activate. Or else Moria will be invinsible as soon as he manages to get even one strong man, and start taking speed.

not just zoans.. i't could be every DF like a zombie with one hand that have water water no mi and the other hand have bomb bomb no mi ..
Thriller Bark has certainly give us some super sweet character designs. Hogback, Brooke, Absalom. I love how Absalom has a lion's mouth. And how Oda cheats by having Brooke's skull change to show expression. Ingenious.
Moria had some ingenious expressioning going on with him. I'll say that much.
From the looks of it there's only a few more things that need to be explained on Thriller Bark:
Absalom's powers.
How Hogback met Moria and why they teamed up.
Who is Kaidou and how he pissed off Moria.
Why Hogback is obsessed with Victoria Cindry.
I think those need to be explained. What do you guys think?
most of that will probably explained in chopper vs hogback
I don't think we need Kaidou in this arc. We got enough of him. Just look at Jinbei, Oda can shake some speculations from us before more info.
Pretty decent arc but its not as great as others. A lot of humor in it though and the best part for me is when Brook told Franky and Robin about his promise with Laboon, when they met Brook, and the newest chapter.
Perona has become quite the smex. <3 I wouldn"t mind her being my saturday night thing

5) What did Oz to in his past?
@Laffitte: Good points! Here's my replies:
Suke Suke no Mi. Thanks Oda!
It would be nice to know the details of Moria and Hogback's relationship. Did Moria corrupt Hogback or was Hogback always batshit crazy?
It doesn't have to be explained, but Kaidou could end up being relevant down the road. Moria was greatly affected by his loss to Kaidou. The Moria/Kaidou rivalry could explain a lot about Moria's current behavior and give us another glimpse into the New World, in my opinion of course!
True. Hogback could just be an obsessed fan of Victoria Cindry that wanted her all to himself. I would still like to know if there's more to Hogback's obsession though, like a failed attempt at romance.
Very good question. Oda needs to show us why Oz was so notorious. That would kick ass!
2.) I think Hogback just jumped at the idea of bringing back dead people as a doctor and joined Moria's crew.
6: if all zombies become obidient slaves overtime why is cindry still so "strong willed"?
does her shadow donor have that big an ego that it takes 10 years to break down? is it her own shadow that has been put into her body? or where the bloody **** did they get someone with that big an ego?
