Mrs. Doublefinger. She walks wierd and isn't very pretty, which is why she isn't popular.
Uh-oh, I have to disagree with that :3

Another character that's underrated severely that I just remembered is Ryu from Shaman King. Him and Tokageroh were so awesome, at one point Iwas reading the series just for those two (since Yoh is kind of boring, Len is a tool, Horohoro can be annoying at times, and if I have to look at Ponchi's swollen testicles one more time I'll hurl).
Same here. And I also got sick of Faust after he joined the team and had that giant Eliza oversoul.
There's also one nobody mentionned: Leorio from HunterxHunter, I know he hasn't had any fight in the series at all(and right now HxH is pretty much "The happy adventures of Genei Ryodan" and unless togashi gets better, I don't think we'll ever see him in action) but he has an awesome design and personality. And he did help a fair bit during the york shin arc.
And another thing is, while he has a fanbase, its still incredibly small and 95% of it are yaoi fangirls, wah D:
I have to agree with Wapol, I always thought he was awesome. With Bin Shimada doing your voice, you can seldom go wrong.

Yes him and the guy who built those pots and stuff in the genei ryodan arc. He became drinking buddies with Leorio too, I forgot his name ><

Oh yeah, i forgot about Zepairu too. He was great.
Too bad the last thing he ever does in the series is get put to sleep by Killua at the start of the second Hunter Exam.(Which could have been used to remove the spotlight from the little bastard and focus on the other two(Leo & Kura), but nooooooooooo)
Wapol was hilarious, and he had one of the more unique Devil Fruits. He also had a damn cruel smile during that flashback.
As for Lucci, he's boring. That's why he's underrated. He has the personality of Itachi (C'mon, ya know I'm right). The only thing he really has going for him is his look and the pimp coat.
Even still, he's my second favorite OP villian. Just wish he had some depth, but then again, he was just a bodyguard, not the mastermind.
Well, I hate exposition and thought bubbles, so I do not believe you are right.
Amen to that.
Piccolo damiou is highly underrated when you compare awesome villians in the DB series as a whole.
True, this guy was 'evil' from begging to end, I mean come one he gave the world populace like 47/48 or less years for them to live! That totally beats blowing up planets!
This is probably because he hasn't really been shown, but I've always seen Komamaru from Bleach as underrated. He's one of the only Gotei 13 members I really like, since I've never really found Renji or Hitsugaya to be all that interesting.
Since when was Hitsugaya interesting?
Suu is underrated. She / it was cuter than Tyrannosaurus and Chopper's current design.
Shweet, cute, in wub with Conis, and byod.
Fullbody and Jango are both underrated.
Are there any chars you think Oda tried too hard on getting fanbases for and failed, making 'em underrated?
thinks Lucci was a case of Oda trying too hard
I also wish we could learn more about Blueno. We know next to nothing 'bout the guy.
Alright… It seemes that all of the best chatacters (imo) are under rated. But I suppose that's always the case. People tend to like the same old "goku" and "kitty poo" cliche' characters. So here we go. The most awesome, yet under appreaciated characters of all time.
Capitan Kuro (One Piece)
Nefertari Vivi (One Piece)
Lord Jyabura (One Piece)
Ghost Perona (One Piece)
Lord Karasu (Yuu Yuu Hakusho)
Sir Musica (Rave Groove/Master)
Lord Zophise (Gash Bell/Zatch)
Jelly Jiggler (Bobobo)
^They are all sooo very under appreciated. =(
Perona has a bigger following than she deserves
and Tokoroten was the… 3rd? 4th? most popular character in the series..
Nefertari Vivi (One Piece)
Like a whinny crybaby annoyance like her actually deserves more fans.
Jelly Jiggler (Bobobo)
This I have to agree in most parts however.
@Cap'n:

Yea, I actually have to agree with you about Perona there… I wasn't thinking and just started listing my favorites. And I forgot about Tokoroten/Jelly being 3rd. There was actually an episode where they announced their popularites. I believe that Don Patch got 1st place. (so he got marked to die 1st P=)
@Daisuke:

See, this is what I don't understand. ALL the Strawhats were winey crybabies in their own archs. Nami, Sanji, Chopper, Ussop, Robin. I'd half to say that Vivi's arch was the most fun, along with her helping out the most, in ther arch, in comparison to the other characters during their archs. Did Robin, Nami, or Ussop have any big fights during their archs? Nope. Were they crybabies? Yes.
Yay… I finally win (huzzah)
No, I mean Vivi's constant annoying screaming and yelling, she didn't just cry, she screamed like through most of the arc, "STOP FIGHTING, STOP FIGHTING!!" And she still kept at it, even after she witnessed Pell getting blown up (Though he did live). It's just her constant yelling and screaming got annoying.
Absalom is pretty underrated. Amazing how his entire fanbase disappeared into subspace after the whole "Invisible bazooka" debacle.
I second moria. His design is ridiculously unique
Rob lucchi:
1:he kicks ass 2:he kicks ass in a suit 3:he has a pigeon resting on his shoulder.4:he takes off his suit and kicks more ass.
I second Gally/alita:Absoulety fantastic character.Without a doubt the best female lead character
Ryu(shaman king):This guy is so awesome. He's pretty much the saving Grace in shaman king entertainment wise
Puck:I find him hilarious
David eagle:This guy is the man.people let Brian hawk over shadow this guy a little too much
I know I have more but not in the right state of mind now
Kuwabara fucking Honinbou. The coolest character ever.
Also half of the Skypiea arc badasses such as Wiper, Calgara, Norland and Cricket.
Wapol and Dalton and Buggy and T-Bone and Jerry and Jango and Gedatsu and Hacchi and Zeff and Gan Fall and many more too. I've never thought of Enel being "underrated" in any way but if he is considered so, then of course he belongs here.

Perona, for being such an un-important character, she's damn over-rated.
Deidara is probably the most popular Akatsuki (after maybe Itachi), actually.
The Slicer Brothers from FullMetal Alchemist. Everybody I know likes Barry better because he's crazy, but the Slicer came damn near close to killing Edward. That and he's not a douchbag like every other person at that point in the story. I also really liked their voice in the anime, both Japanese and English.
Deidara is probably the most popular Akatsuki (after maybe Itachi), actually.
Oh… oh well guess ill scratch that.
tien early dragonball. It's a shame what happened over time tho
Red ribbon army:the army in general were cool

I thought it was really cool of him to have invisble bazookas. It better then him have some kind of energy wave or something.
I remember reading how people just hate Moria based on his design but I don't know how that is now.
I don't know much Foxy fans, but seeing him in suspenders on the front cover was too sick. I hated how the anime just screwed that whole arc up and the filler episode.
Prof. Riddles.
Doburoku Sakaki
Daikichi Komusubi
Blueno story anyone?
@DougyDougyGiro!*:
I remember reading how people just hate Moria based on his design but I don't know how that is now.
Moria has a pretty decent following over here. He still isn't as popular as popular, say, Croc or Enel, but he's really not that hated anymore. (At least from what I gather.)
@IT'S:

I always thought Absalom was underrated since the beginning, although this is still unfair. I remember how people got annoyed when he came back in chapter 469.
Eh, I've always had a soft spot for Abs. I just wish he had a more original DF. I was really hoping for something off the wall.
The problem is that some people seem to dislike him because he is a pervert and has a bizarre design. Like if Brook hadn't the same stuff…
Absalom just always seemed kind of generic to me, I guess. I was more disappointed in his fight with Sanji than anything, though. I didn't really hate him or anything.
The invisible bazooka's killed him for me, but I didn't really like him that much to begin with.
DOn't hate the guy, just I see nothing to like.
I never got why everyone hated the bazooka thing.
Malcolm Gedo from Hajime no Ippo. Though Ippo's still in the midst of fighting him, he's been one of my favorite opponents recently. Everybody just seemed pissed off when Ippo didn't finish him in a round or two, despite the fact that he is a national champion. His motives, his fighting style, everything about him is interesting and he's certainly a better opponent than Jimmy Sisfa or any of the losers Miyata's faced in the last hundred chapters. Even though he's taken Ippo farther than ANY previous opponent the guy still gets no respect.
Komusubi Daikichi from Eyeshield 21.
An extremely awesome, rarely mentioned character.
Because I was hoping he had some other ability besides invisibility.
and idk. Usually I don't care about the unrealistic things, but Ussop and Chopper taking a bazooka shot directly and walking away didn't sit well with me.
Always hated that "Bullets > Explosions" thing in anime for some reason.
As much as I love Tennosuke, I think the underrated character of Bo-bobo is Hatenko. Kagi Shinken is just one of the more underrated Shinken styles and just is so nifty in its powers and abilities. (one moment you can freeze an opponent, the next you can put a key in your brain and unlock your own powers…and that's not even mentioning Hatenko World) I don't like his bishonen design but I say only for Kagi Shinken.
Heck, a lot of fists are more powerful than we can realize but seem less so due to Bo-bobo's group. Some others I can say that are underrated include Giga (you either need to be a Hajikelist or an artist to get past him), Rem (another case of a Hajikelist fighting a super-powerful ability: Bakusui Shinken should be one that is impossible to wake up from), Nenchaku (logically STOP Shinken could literally stop all molecular movement if used right), Fine (Biryushi Shinken could literally control the transformation of atoms, turning anything into anything..and he used it for crap), heck even Be-bebe. (of the hairs, Sunege Shinken really gets forgotten due to the powers of Bo-bobo and Bi-bibi. But even without a power-up, Be-bebe's abilities kept his brother befuddled until he was rewired to do the Ganeme attack) There are a few others but I think they used them rather well under the circumstances (like Hanpen or Shigeki X)
Absalom having bazookas wasn't upsetting - if anything, it actually made him more interesting.
The annoying thing is that, while his personality was pretty boring, he had a neat design, with being an invisible chimera that weighed 300 kg and carried around invisible bazookas.
But nooooooooo, he's instantly slaughtered by Sanji. What a waste of a potentially compelling battle.

Because we barely knew anything about him before. That and Ippo getting his ass kicked and doing nothing, but that for 3 chapters was boring as hell. It didn't help when he completely dominated Karwasara 3 fights before that.
SASAGAWA RYOHEI
The kid goes to zoos and demands if he can fight the bears. He's punched out a lion–no getting into a car needed here, nosiree. He literally does live life like there's no tomorrow.
I mean, I like the other characters in Reborn! a lot too, but Ryohei really needs more appreciation to the extreme.
From the sound of things, Perona is the new Kaku.
Yes, but with more panty-flash fanart.
Ahh, what about Suzu from Bobobo? She's really underrated as well.
EDIT: And I too am guilty as charged. I used to think Absolom was awesome… but I do again, now that he's "back from the dead".
From the sound of things, Perona is the new Kaku.
That's largely due to the amount of penis on this board.
The problem is that some people seem to dislike him because he is a pervert and has a bizarre design. Like if Brook hadn't the same stuff…
I liked Absalom's design. As I said, I think in the 469 discussion, he's this arc's Kuroobi.
The problem is, IMO, the combination of his powers and his personality put him on a different plane to Brooke or Sanji among OP's perverts.
Sanji may be perverse, but he's so goofy around women that he can't quite get to truly sickening situations.
Brooke might be perverse, but his appearance is so bizarre it should keep him well away from most women.
But Absalom is not only perverse, he can disappear and reappear in very disgusting situations. It's not so cute and charming when he dreams of getting his way with women, because it's feasible.
Didn't mind the bazookas much– they were a very clever way to play one power into the perception of another-- but it could have been portrayed better. Invisible bazookas are still heavy so you'd expect some sluggishness in the motion or some drooping arms to show it.
There's also the lack of charm about his acts. Brooke and Sanji try to woo women, although they're incapable. Absalom just drugs them and drags them off.
Edit: One thing I can see working against Komusubi is the overwhelming "Powerspeak" joke. If he can only communicate with two-word grunts that Kurita translates, he can't really have interesting lines.
I never really hated Absalom, just hated his fight.
Anyways, underrated characters….probably Walpol. During his fight with Luffy, I always hoped he would've gotten the chance to eat up his armory. Walpol probably would've been as scary looking as he was in the flashback.
Yeah, there's a gigantic list of One Piece side character or villains that never get any attention at all.
I'm looking at you Lulu.
Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu. Gedatsu.
Will probably make a post like this every few pages, just so people bleed from their anus after realizin' how great a character he was.
Gedatsu was retarded villain pulled off perfectly.
Another ES21 cast member who's underrated is Tetsuma Jo. He had some really excellent scenes, and his style of play was really interesting I thought.
I never hated Absalom, he has a pretty neat design, it's just that he has zero personality.
@Lobster:
Ahh, what about Suzu from Bobobo? She's really underrated as well.
Yeah forgot about her. She destroys an entire block that's just one below Tennosuke's, has teleport abilities and is about to fight Bo-bobo…but her good nature and fish eating ways prevent her from doing so. (let alone how she became Beauty #2 in Hallelujah Land) I guess thinking of the super-underrated Shinken made me forget to think about poor Suzu. (though of my Shinken list...most of those guys I don't even like characterwise except Rem and Be-bebe...I just complained because their abilities are lost fighting Hajikelists)
@Cyringohn:
Gedatsu.
Pretty much agree. Not only he was a great villain but also the funniest character that ever appeared in One Piece, since most of his gags revolved with random situations. I blame that fight with Chopper for he being so underrated.
