Argh first time i typed this i got an error so i have to retype it =(
Now I'm even more confused. Are you trying to say that you dislike her because she doesn't kick ass 24/7 whenever there's an opportunity to do so?
No i cant really explain what i mean properly but even though she seems to be so brilliant i feel that she can at cruical moments fail to act and inso doing leave it up to chance when fate seems to not exactly favour the SH
You mean she and Franky? But didn't she tell him "Sorry, I was caught off guard". I take that statement at face-value. That she really was caught off guard. From her shocked expression (when one of the mouse-spiders cozies up to her), I assume that she'd rather be anywhere else than that web at that moment. This doesn't sound like someone who deliberately went "soft" for a moment so that she could let herself be captured only to avoid having to fight.
Hehe you must be even worse then me at spotting irony. sorry i wont do that again ^^
No i dont think that she wanted to be captured either, but failing to deal with her situation distracted Franky and resulted in his capture.
Untill he noticed Robin Franky was kicking that Monkeyspiders butt, you cant deny that.
What can she do?
There are so many of them. Their eyes are so small – it would be difficult to poke them as she did with the larger spider. What if the bodies are sticky also? Do we know what part of the body they shoot their webbing from? If we don't it's not wise to touch them. How can she distract a dozen of them? By creating some hands on a wall and yelling, "Hey! Look over there! Hands! Go get them instead of me!!"I'd be interested in hearing your strategies about how she can distract or disable them. I can't think of any effective ones myself at the moment.
Since Robins grown arms arent permanent where she grows them are really not that big of a deal unless it furter tangles her own body. She can just recall them and try again when they dissapear.
If the spiders are sticky or not doesnt really matter (if they are it can be used to the spiders disadvantage in that situation) however i belive spiders usually secrete something that makes them not stick to the web (lets ask Lieju about this)
You acctually came up with a way i hadn't thought of: by using her grown limbs she may acctually hold and stick the spiders in their own web. doesnt really matter if she grows the arms on the web or the spiders themselves if the spiders are sticky. (the web is solid enough to hold the monkeyspider up and therefor imo solid enough to grow arms on)
but the one i thought of was one that would go with her new signature moves: simply grow arms on the belly and back and then pull/break the spiders legs off.
or do some necktwist move like she usually does.
It's not wise to show your true strength to an enemy early in the fight. And, as you mentioned, in her past, she's had to conceal her strength many times. It's probably a habit now. Enies Lobby was a short while ago – give her some time. How many life-long habits have you or I been able to unlearn in two weeks time?
while i agree that its not smart to show it too early i must point out that too late is even worse.
When franky gets caught the fight is essentially over, or atleast very likely to be over.
She cant be sure there is anyway to get out of the web, her biggest chance at getting free is Franky or anyone other friendly person that shows up (Brook in this case but she cant be sure he would come for them or that he himself didnt get captured)
Allowing Franky to get captured is too big of a gamble to be a good plan no matter what.
I think "odd" is the more appropriate word choice here – "inconsistant" implies that she was acting much differently than she is now, but your arguments in this post seem to imply that it's something she's been doing all along. That implies consistancy. So it's more like "consistantly odd" than like "oddly inconsistant". Does that make sense?
Peace.
she is constant in her inconsistancy. as long as there is fluxuations in her performance she cant be called consistant
I might have forgotten something since i was rather quick to rewrite this.
