The movie is never gonna see the light of day. “Only one Blade” indeed…

I'm amazed Mahershala Ali hasn't left yet.
-
At this rate the Gundam & Akira Live action movies will be out before Blade is.
-
Personally, I would be way more excited for a "Midnight Sons" film starring Blade, Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night etc.
I wonder if we are ever get any follow-up to any of the post-credit scenes in Eternals, though...
-
It's a unique situation. It's not Deadpool where Disney got to pick which of the Fox franchise to continue and due to it having it's own proven market, they let Ryan do as he please with of course some collaboration.
It's also not their regular practice where they have a plan for the character, pick the actor, then everyone does as Marvel Studios ask.
This is a situation where Mahershala made the call and Marvel was excited to have someone with pull ask for the character. So, now Mahershala and his production company have a vision and standard and so does Marvel Studios. They have to compromise.
No other situation like it. Eternals, Iron Man, Cap films all Marvel hires and doing as they say.
2 directors out and they are on their 6th writer. Nic who created/developed True Detective and worked with Mahershala multiple times was brought in last year, so it looks like Mahershala is getting his way in some aspects.
Unfortunately Lindo and Aaron are out. Especially Aaron who is heavily sought after. It's a real mess. It makes sense why Marvel chooses to hire everybody and do auditions.

Not getting good reviews
-
@Shiebs neither did the first two film Tbf. What matters is whether audiences enjoy them.
-
If the movie is gayer than the first two then it will be better.
-
Iono, the trailers seem to sell the campiness that made the first two enjoyable to many. Expecting it to be a hit and a nice sendoff for Hardy’s Venom series
-
The Last Dance was decent enough. Kind of slow and the laughs weren't as big. But the whole thing really did come together in the climax.
-
It turns out that The Last Dance was, in fact, very gay. These bisexual husbands will never not be the biggest losers in their universe and I love them so much for it.
I do wish

Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World - February 14th
Marvel Television's Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 (9 Episodes) - March 4th
Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* - May 2nd
Marvel Television's Ironheart (6 Episodes) - June 24th
Marvel Studios' The Fantastic 4: First Steps - July 25th
Marvel Animation's Eyes of Wakanda (4 Episodes) - August 6th
Marvel Animation's Marvel Zombies (4 Episodes) - October (most likely Halloween)
Wonder Man (10 Episodes) - December -
So the first five episodes of Agatha All Along are pretty standard, about what you'd expect from a Marvel show.
Then we hit episode six and, for some reason, the show starts firing on all cylinders, giving maybe the best episodes of all the Marvel Studios shows (episode 7 is probably the best single episode period).

@Nobodyman wanna/should give “Agatha All Along” a shot. Followed the plot summaries as they’ve come out, but from what I understood it was a fun time. Katheryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza seemed to go all ham, so that’s probably worth it alone for that. And it’s all finished now/released on Disney Plus, so there’s really no excuse…
As for the two movie trailers above, more excited for the Thunderbolts. Feel like Anthony Mackie plays better as the lighter hearted jokester next to more serious characters than serious lead.
Plus, based on spoilers I’ve read
-
After recent events, that Cap trailer has a whole new meaning.
-
The Thunderbolts* actually looks pretty damn good
It’s kind of hard to tell some of the characters apart though, especially Ghost and Taskmaster
-
Only after reading the wiki on it do I realize who "Bob" is going to be . . .
-
Finally, the Leader makes an appearance.
-
Thunderbolts seems interesting but I'm not feeling the dialogue. They may be trying too hard to make these characters likeable. If you want to make a bad/morally gray team, just do it. Don't make them Avengers-lite.
The new Captain America movie is coming out during Black History Month. Uh-huh.
I hope it's good but again I'm having trouble with the dialogue. Captain America isn't saying anything interesting. I'm not really liking his outfit's design but I do like the wings. I'm willing to give this movie more slack than Thunderbolts only because I feel more content is being saved for either a later trailer or the movie itself. -
It's usually smarter not to reveal everything in a trailer.
-
True, but we're living in a world of Teasers, Trailers, and First X Minutes Looks. I'm expecting the new CA trailer to reveal much more plot and characters.
As for The Thunderbolts, I'm guessing Marvel has its ending locked down but most everything else is full game to spoil. -
I don’t really love the discount Suicide Squad vibes, I love the original concept for Thunderbolts in the comics, a group of supervillains who pose as heroes in the absence of the Avengers for nefarious purposes but then fall in love with being actual heroes and decide to go legit
Although the trailer s do look good

Agreed. I also feel like one of the above kicks the bucket given I notice in some scenes one of them is usually missing, but for the life of me can’t tell who.
Then again they could be babysitting Bob while the others do other stuff.
-
Taskmaster is missing in quite a few of the scenes. Ghost, we actually see without her mask and interacting with the other characters, which makes me think she will get decent focus.
-
Well, I guess this could be worth watching if only for...

Would you be up for this Sebastian Stan idea for a prequel?

I've of two minds about Marvel's What If.
On one hand, it's a series with endless possibilities. And I really enjoyed some episodes. Especially, the last two episodes of the first season. It's a shame to see it go.
But on the other hand, there's so much wasted potential. I feel like What If dialed the MCU jokes up to 11. Some episodes I never want to watch again because it's more about throwing 100 jokes out a minute than telling an interesting story. That Marvel Zombies episode was the worst for me. Granted, I assumed it'd be a more serious take on the concept, so I wasn't prepared for the onslaught of comedy destroying any sense of danger or drama.
What I hope is for the series to come back after the X-Men and Fantastic Four has been well established years from now with new showrunners, giving them more characters to work with.
-
What If dropped the ball when they made it ongoing interconnected plots for no reason, seemingly moistly just to test the waters on things like Captain Carter.
Do Exiles if you want to do ongoign recurring cast, What If should just be random stories.
-
The fact that they didn't do "What if the other half was blipped" is mind boggling.
