I'd say the best part of the Halloween episode was the Three Murderers. Though Biggie Smalls was pretty funny.
South Park
-
-
Three Murderers was just silly fun. I liked how they kept deliberately bashing risc American teenage girls "on MTV".
Dig their comparison.
-
They don't rerun Jared Has Aides!!!??? That was so lame/good!
Yeah, I think it had to do with the part with Butters' getting beat by his parents. Oh well, it'll be funny in 23 years.
Though I did love the most recent South Park. The Three Stooges homage, Satan acting like a stupid spoiled rich whore, and ofcourse Butters and Biggie Smalls' interaction was pure gold.
-
Wow, those Christian extremists trying to get Bloody Mary banned from a DVD release are pretty crazy. That's completely unAmerican.
-
I just saw the newest episode. And I think we all share Cartman's pain.
! About waiting for release of the Nintendo Wii.

@Dr.:

Catholic, extremist
I showed my family that episode, and they're die hard christians (im just christian in a sense, but i don't like to get tied in)and they thought it was god damn hilarious
iunno
just different taste
and to those people they just thought the joke was tasteless
which is nothing but bullshit
but opinons

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. The ending when Cartman ended up in the future, and the colony of sea otters had me going "…...Okay.....". This is the first time we've had 2 two-parters in one season.
-
How did they spark up a firestorm after they implied Tom Cruise was gay?
-
Lol I loved this new episode, it had me laughing so much, especially at the sea otters at the end.
-
I just saw the newest episode. And I think we all share Cartman's pain.
Er…you do get the point of that right?
This.
Show.
Just.
Gets.
Better.
I don't remember laughing as hard as I did when Mrs. Garrison explained Evolution. You just know what they're talking about and it's great.
I love South Park.
People have recently been saying it's too Conservative but I've never seen ONE political thing in South Park.
The victim of their plots is simply human stupidity which we all share.
They're too much.
-
I must admit, thats the thing I love about South Park, they attack pretty much anything, like a stand-up comedian will tell jokes about the events that have been happening recently, yet South Park manages to create whole episodes out of events, of course if you wrote the things down on paper, it just sounds silly, however South Park manages to make the silly things work….if you understand what I'm saying.

My eyes are open now! God is really a flying-spagehtti monster.

A quick question, whats that episode called where Kyle and Kenny go to this jewish thing? And the leader of them is the computer from Tron?

WATCH THIS SHIT
personally I'd be flattered if a show made a joke about me after my death, it means that I'd be remembered
-
I'm on the fence this one. I didn't think it was bad from an outsiders perspective but at the same time, I feel for the widow and her kid too and I would be mad if someone did that with a close relative of mine
-
I think I read somewhere Parker and Stone saying there was good things to take from the left and good things from the right. They had my immediate sympathy as that's very much what I think too, even if I know the fact they never really take positions on delicate subjects annoy some people. Great show, and the only "adult" cartoon that stands the test of time IMO.
-
I agree. They produce comedy gold constantly, but they get too much shit for that. I mean some people just can't take a joke. I mean its not like they completely trashed him like Mel Gibson or Jennifer Lopez.
And I'm still pissed that I'll never get to see the Scientology episode.
-
I'll never get to see the Scientology episode.
WRONG! and Here's why…
http://www.scientomogy.com/emmy.phpIt's not the HIGHEST quality, but it's the episode…
edit: corrected the link. This one will play the episode -
xD I was just fixing to post a link too~
The R Kelly thing still cracks me up ~
-
-
The latest episode was hilarious "OH MY SCIENCE?!" they go after everybody
moral to this one is, if athiesm was the big thing, there would be wars over that, and wouldn't be any better then the people they disagree withAnd it has "WII"

God is a flying spaghetti monster.

God is a flying spaghetti monster.
http://www.venganza.org/Satire is okay the first time
but still doing it when the point has been proven?Kinda immature dontcha think?
And the fanbase..is just..
ughi mean look at southpark, they don't rant on and on and on about the same thing
and they attack both sides
Just seems that attacking one side these days is close minded -
I believe in a god. Maybe not the God described by The Bible but I believe there's a higher force out there in some respect. I also doubt that it has any direct effect on our lives but the main point is, if humans are the ultimate form of life in this entire universe:
the universe sucks.
That said, I think the FSM thing is really childish. No, not the point that it's a FSM, just the fact that they think it's cute to bash a religion by coming up with something some guy created to make a point. I mean forget Christianity, it's an insult to every religion in the world. And I thought these are the same people who are trying so hard to be loved by the World and not offend anyone because everyone 'hates us' Americans.
teh lame.
I agree with South Park's comparison not so subtle comparison. Anyone who seriously follows along with the FSM needs a good fuck in the ass.

If anything, a 'god' would simply be an individual or organism that is stronger than all other beings - the 'alpha male', if you will. God doesn't have to be omniscient or future-seeing to be God.
But yes, people need to take shit with more of an open attitude. Gohn constantly jokes about 'killing babies in microwaves' and 'raping bitches', but stating such does not imply that he is bound and obligated to perform the acts.
-
Damn, that was fast.
It's been around for a while. It's a serious movement.
It is a movement that gained momentum after a state passed law (? was it a law or something else? wiki it for fact) that 'intelligent design' be taught in the classroom.
It's essentially aethiests bitching to bitch.
You can easily teach intelligent design without getting yourself into a hassle.
Ready?
Origin of Life-
Three Possibilities:
1. Spontaneous Generation
2. Higher Being
3. Alien Origin (simply meaning something as small as a cell colony came here from somewhere else)That's all that's needed.
Going through Adam and Eve crap is NOT needed. The above is more than sufficient and covers all bases quite well.
-
what the hell side road did this thread take
ID is total bullshit, that people are trying to get into schools by adding a few scientific words to their book and calling it science is Bullshit, the FSM was a made to show to them that if you're going to force people to learn one bullshit theory that you have to be fair to all the bullshit
-
xD I was just fixing to post a link too~
The R Kelly thing still cracks me up ~
I was going to mention the R. Kelly thing too. I only got to see the last half of the show. That episode was the reason Isaac Hayes quit the show, and thus Chef was killed off.
I was looking at a show, I think it was The Soup on E Television but I'm not sure, and they showed a picture of Bill Maher dressed as Steve Irwin with a Stingray's tale in his chest for Halloween.
-
Well, I just saw 'Passion of the Jew' last night and I'm gonna say it was hilarious, especally Mel Gibson and Cartman as Hitler (again)
-
the FSM was a made to show to them that if you're going to force people to learn one bullshit theory that you have to be fair to all the bullshit
Which is precisely why it's childish. Has nothing to do with the concept, merely the fact that they invented it to make a point.
Although I personally believe ANYTHING regarding ID beyond recognizing that one possible source of life on earth is a higher being is absurd, that doesn't mean a lot of people don't believe in it and don't deserve respect.
The same goes for any religion which is exactly why FSM is a slap in the face to any religion.
Is teaching anything beyond recognizing a possible source of life as a higher being absurd and out of place in a compulsory science class?
Yes.
Is being a whining twat and making up a bullshit theory just to prove a point and sound like a smartass equally as absurd?
Yes.
-

 Wow, I didn't know about that…

actually even saying the whole bigger being bit would be against the constitution

Sorry but the Flying Spaghetti Monster is awesome.

You can easily teach intelligent design without getting yourself into a hassle.
The problem with teaching something like intelligent design is that it doesn't fit into how regular science is taught and practiced.
Most of our understanding of science is basically models. They are often imperfect. For example, there's no single model which explains physics at both the human scale and the subatomic scale in a single system. But we still teach the models we have that provide the most valid explanation for the world we experience. When better models appear, we replace the old ones.
What worries me is that they can use intelligent design as an excuse to teach a model which we full-well know doesn't line up with the data.
The data (both in fossil records, and in some examples actually witnessed on a human scale) support an evolutionary process.
But intelligent design is often produced as a cop-out to not talk about an evolutionary process at all.
And evolution HAS been seen in action on a human timescale. I recall reading that a species of moth in England was traditionally white-speckled, with a few rare black ones. As the environment became more polluted after the Industrial Revolution, the black ones came to be dominant because they could camoflague better against dirty bark than the white ones.
I will accept intelligent design ONLY as a "what started evolution" option.
I tend to think of a creator as an engineer who put something in motion and is watching it run. Either that, or he just enjoys watching humans fail miserably and is laughing at us now.
-

That's why there should be a Modern Religion class. Something that teaches the basics of all the major modern religions. To tell the truth, it'd probably solve alot of problems.
-
the other main problem is that its basically madatory religon which is what people have against it (at least that what it is in its current state)
-
If you're referring to my idea, then no. Mandatory religion is forcing someone to perform rituals and the like. A class would teach you about these rituals and beliefs. Religion is a major part of the world's sociology, and we're seriously lacking when it comes to religious knowlege. This leads to misguided beliefs and hatred towards something you know nothing about. Also, if evolution is taught for science, then teaching religion for sociology is fine as well.
-
no it was for ID in general I like your idea
-
I always thought Religeon was a mandatory subject in Schools? At least it was over here…
-
maybe in Catholic or Christian schools but in Public school it should never be
-
I had a World Religion class in my senior year in Catholic school, and I don't see why having it in public school would be detrimental.
-
Eh, I saw the episode where Ike and his teacher form a romantic relationship, and Cartmen gets all Dog the Bounty Hunter on everyone's ass. It was an alright episode. It didn't have that social & political satire that I've come to expect from South Park. Cartmen acting and dressed as Dog didn't satire the guy. The issue of Ike and his teacher didn't mock the numerous teacher-student relationships in America. They let me down.
I guess I need to stop compairing every episode to the two-parter about the Family Guy joke. "Stick your head in the sand, that way we can't get blamed." Awesome.
@taboo:That's why there should be a Modern Religion class. Something that teaches the basics of all the major modern religions. To tell the truth, it'd probably solve alot of problems.
That's….. brilliant!
-
actually even saying the whole bigger being bit would be against the constitution
Recognizing a higher being isn't against the Constituton. It's not saying the Christian God is responsible for anything. I mean hell, it COULD even mean a FSM, but just acknowledging that as a possible origin of life isn't breaking anything.
Remember, the key phrase here is origin of life. It's not saying the Universe was created in 7 days. It's saying that on this planet, there are only three ways that life has begun.
And I don't care how smart anyone thinks they might be, nobody knows the origin of life here.
Saying that a higher being is in some shape or form responsible for a chain of events that led to cells is plausible. Who knows what that higher being might be?
It's just as plausible as spontaneous generation. Which is saying one moment something wasn't there and then suddenly was.
And it's just as plausible as a giant asteroid colliding here with cells or bacteria. (which leads to the question of their origin)
Like it or leave it, those are the three accepted theories for the origin of life and there's NOTHING wrong with acknowledging they exist.
If kids can learn about the Koran in elementary school but can't learn one of three acknowledged origins of life then something is seriously wrong.
Again, this has nothing to do with ID and explaining Adam and Eve which is….well if you wanna believe it that's cool but it doesn't have place in a compulsory public science education.
-
greg, wow, seriously, Good thinking man
not all of FSM's followers are athiest mind you, the web site designers are christian
but other then that yes, its just a bunch of athiest beating a dead horse
and this episode of southpark just slapped "Dawkin's theorys and books" in the facehe made a book calling "Religion the root of all evil"
but it all just boils down to thisIf science came before religion, there would be wars over theorys or minor differences
but since religion came before science, there just happens to be wars over beliefs, or dietys
and those who have actually listened to Dawkins speak, i mean he is no mean a good representation to Darwinism, he attacks all beliefs as irrational, and he is a man who stoops to shots below the belt
And i mean c'mon this episode has the WIIIIIIIIIIIII
-
and this episode of southpark just slapped "Dawkin's theorys and books" in the face
Yes, I think it attacked him with a vengeance but I love its attack on ID as well as seen through Mrs. Garrison FIERCELY defending it.
I've got nothing against people who want to believe ID. I'm a Christian myself, but the idea that everything we know was created in 7 days…nah, not for me BUT if that's your thing then by all means. Can you recognize the fact that ID as a theory exists? Sure, but going over the details? Come on. No way that belongs in a public compulsory science class.
-

yeah, i mean "7 days" could boil down to anything
maybe to a "higher power" 7 days could mean, billions of years
or thousandsi personally believe that the bible itself, does not contradict, but it is the interpetations that do
but that saying is hard to swallow since its been forever since i read over the whole thing
but yeah Tolerence and Respect are good things
but if you're going to make fun of something, do it right and do it to both sides…like Trey and matt
THOSE SILLY GOOSES
