@Zephray I heard Wonder Egg got bad near the end with its bad ending and things not explained it's what ruined season 2 of The Promised Neverland.

The final episode clearly ran out of production time and budget, then it tried to introduce the new big concept for season two despite it getting cancelled. So yeah, that last episode isn’t great. But the rest of the show is wonderful and still well-worth watching. Just treat the finale as, uh, open-ended.

@Zephray fair enough

Damn, someone already wrote up this train wreck.
This is so unfortunate to hear. The first time I ever went to the states was for AX 2014, and it was a really odd experience with the long lines and bearing the heat in them. I always thought that things would get sorted out over time, so as I wondered when I would go to AX again it sucks to hear that this happened for an event I totally would've gone for.
-
More good news, though not dub specific: VIZ is releasing the Sanji & Ace manga spinoffs. Outside of the novelizations, this is the first time we're getting a spinoff localized. There are so, so many spinoffs in Japan, so this is great to see. Hopefully the floodgates open now.
Fully expecting we start getting more dubbed OP content over the next year. If spin-offs are worth doing for manga, the same will be true of the anime.
-
Crunchyroll have begin dumping episodes of the dub on the site. So far the dub episodes for Episodes 1 - 61 are up.
-
If I’m looking at it right, they’re all up!
-
Yep, they're all up now. I'm watching Episode 771 right now to continue where left at with Collection 31.
-
@Sano you are so lucky to have 100s of episodes to consume
-
Yeah, I got a lot of episodes to catch up on the dub. But I'm not going to rushed through them. Since I got other things to watch besides One Piece.
-
Here are some information about the dub episodes up to beginning of Dressrosa on crunchyroll.
The dub episodes kept the correct opening songs unlike the crunchyroll subs/simulcast version of the episodes.
Which means Crazy Rainbow Star, We Are Remix, Share the World, Kaze Wo Sagashite, Fight Together, and Hands Up (Episode 619 - 628) are there.
For endings songs, Mirai Koukai (Ending 14) is still replaced by Eternal Pose (Ending 15). Asu Wa Kuru Kara (Ending 17) is on the dub episodes, while on the Crunchyroll sub, it was replaced by Dear Friends (Ending 16).
-
@LostTimeLord I've got my VPN - works perfectly with Crunchyroll and Funimation. It is so dumb that Toei Europe won't let them stream the dub. iPlayer has all of Dragon Ball Super anyhow. One Piece is never getting a TV deal, if that's why they won't let Crunchyroll stream.
-
Hrm, on-screen text isn’t translated on CR, little annoying.
-
I'm about to finished up Zou in the dub. I just want to say the dub did a great job on the anime adaption of the Wapol Cover Story.
-
@Muginiz
Deleted tweet. What'd it say? -
@Trueblade74 Jinbei voice actor has said it was a privilege recording a battle against you to Whos Who voice actor

Any particular episode?
Even on FUNimation, there were occasionally Japanese text on screen that they forgot to add subtitles to on streaming.
-
So far every episode from 965 on.
-
I finished up the dub of the Marine Rookie filler arc. I thought the dub for this filler arc was really good. And I enjoyed this filler arc back when it originally aired, so I'm happy that with my rewatch of the arc with the english dub was enjoyable as well.
-
The three Film Red episodes have been added to Microsoft Store as their own series.
-
lol, I think I'll wait the five days for the bluray to come out...
-
Huh, wonder if that means they will actually be skipped in the voyage release.
-
I doubt it. They’re part of the episode count. But anything’s possible since they’re accounted for digitally and on disc media. If that’s so, they’d probably just go streaming when the episodes surrounding them go streaming?
-
I’m really expecting them to start putting out old specials and movies now, since they’re pretty clearly caught up with the episodes.
-
I just feel like they wouldn’t release them on their own digitally instead of just waiting for the voyage in a few months, would make buying the BD more lucrative. Either way 2 or 3 less new episodes in a set wouldn’t be the end of the world with the pace they’re going.
-
To be fair, I can't see many people wanting the tie-in episodes but not the film they tie into. As long as they keep re-printing the bonus disc alongside the film, this is the more intuitive way of releasing them, episode numbers be damned. Dunno if they're actually worth $7, but eh.
-
@AceLuffy4ever LOL, fun news to hear from Baugh. Also still great news to know they're that far in the recording process.
-
Had to refer to the manga to translate the traitor’s lines in the last flashback episode, which was kind of fun but annoying, hope that gets fixed.
-
I'm 4 episodes into the dub of Whole Cake Island. Here some of my early thoughts of the dub for the arc. The dub did an amazing job of Big Mom's first big musical moment in the arc. I like the dub voices for Pudding, Amande, Reiju, and Yonji.
-
Just finished the remainder of the Oden flashback. Aside from the obvious Kokoro recast, it sounds like Tom was also recast.
I agree with the earlier comments that Ian Sinclair voicing Scopper Gaban is awfully strange. Uses a voice that sounds like Brook speaking calmly, and gets to sing Bink's Brew with the rest of the Roger Pirates. lol
It kind of bothered me that the dub script for Roger's final words during his execution was changed a bit from what we've been hearing for the past two decades. May have been a lip flaps thing, but it jarred me a bit.
-
I doubt Tom was recast. Admittedly I don’t remember his voice super vividly but he’s voiced by Rob Mungle. He just recently reprised Igaram.
-

Nope; whether it sounded different then before that was definitely the voice of Rob Mungle
-
He sounded different, less gravelly/gargley?
-
Probably just that he hasn’t recorded the character in like literally a decade.
-
Yeah, characters always sound different to me after they've been gone for years.
-
Came around to loving Oden’s voice, btw. I think each arc gets two or so amazing voice actors, and for me this arc it’s Kaido and Queen. Orochi’s is pretty close too. My least favorite actor is Kiku’s; I support getting a trans actor/actress, but I wish they would’ve gotten a better one. Kiku (and maybe Kawamatsu) is probably my favorite samurai following Kin, so was definitely bummed the dubbed performance isn’t so strong.
-
I got Film Red at Walmart today. The movie is enjoyable. I can finally talk about some of the new dub voices. Since I'm not that far into the dub of Whole Cake Island. I really like the dub voices for Oven, Brulee, Katakuri, and Perospero. Also I want to mention that on the three Film Red episodes that were included with the movie does have the next episodes previews (Episode 1031 next episode preview is there. The next Wano arc episode) and stuff
-
Yeah, just watched the special episodes. They were fun. Makino’s hair changes from green to black in the last one, lol. I like the kid actors for Luffy & Uta.
-
Out of curiosity:
- Do the Special Episodes use PAINT or New Genesis for the opening on the Blu-ray?
- What is the Web Preview? Is it those motion capture promos of Uta getting ready for the concert?
-
While the two episodes just use the regular Wano cast list the recap episode has a cast list specific to that episode (still not a full one though)
Kid actors? Pretty sure they had their usual actors as children
They used PAINT. And the Web Preview is basically just an early teaser trailer (not really sure why it wasn't just put with the rest of the trailers)
-
I also take it kid Uta's songs went undubbed as well?
-
@wjbraden Yes, since there wasn't any new songs in those episodes (not they would have been dubbed even if there were any)
-
@midod I figured, but you never know with this crazy licensing bs. I wonder if the countries that got to dub the songs for Film Red will be able to dub them when they get to these episodes.
-

Are they really? Always thought Luffy was a different actor. Huh. Cool.

Wowzers, had no idea Rob Mungle voiced Tom. Maybe he phoned it in since it was only a few lines. The voice was definitely missing the GUSTO that Tom had back when Water 7 was dubbed. But that was nearly...eight years ago? Nearly ten?
-
Man, I hope they dub the episode of merry special. Having a two hour dubbed version of the best arc would be awesome. I also would really love episode of Nami dubbed. That movie is great for introducing new fans, and it’s actually paced decently for a recap film.
-
@Zephray For whatever reason, the Nami special (along with the first couple of 2 hour specials) haven't been dubbed into as many languages as the later ones. You'd think Toei would want to prioritize having all the recap-heavy specials dubbed to reel in new fans like you said, but seems they have different plans.
Unless we actually do go back and start dubbing literally every part of the franchise we skipped over, I'd say there's a slim chance of it happening. But here's hoping!
