In his defense, "Human Music" could very well be the name of an actual band.
True, although it was just the intrigued way he said it. Heh.

That Meeseeks episodes was hilarious. I wasn't the biggest fan of last weeks episode but it was still ok but this was great. If they can do things like this for the rest of the season they'll be in good shape.
Everything from the way they talked to their premise that they wanted to die was just brilliant.
Rick is a cold blooded hero. I could definately see where Dan fine tunes Justin's conceptual insanity with down-to-earth humanity when it comes to writing this show. It's a good pair.
As for the episode, the setting was very different compared to the others. And I mean it felt pretty original and not based off something in "pop-science fiction". But I guess that's what would happen if Morty is in charge. I'd like to see more adventures like this, maybe in small doses. The B-plot was also amusing. Those poor homicidal Meeseeks.
So far I'm in love with the show. My only compliment is sometimes the voices like Morty's and the Meseeks hurt me..
There was a lot of fun contrasting elements to this episode. Between not having a giant pop culture reference as the main fondation it was also more fantasy than sci-fi.
Welp, figures the Meeseeks would drive themselves homicidal over improving Jerry's game, lol
Main plot was good too! Morty gets his day in charge, he and Rick learn from each other….and there was this neat blend of fantasy with some sci-fi. How did that jelly bean become king? Why was the first giant fairy tale-esque but everything else giant-based was contemporary? (rhetoric questions to muse)
Rick blasting the jelly bean at the end was awesome.
The next episode is out.
ricks intro speech hilarious.
I was kinda….baffled on how things ended like that. Was Morty all somber because of how easily Rick and he can replace themselves in a reality (therefore undoing any incident all at once), or that his simple desire snowballed into the degradation of his reality? I did like how they took the usual "love potion backfires" plot and turned it into something completely different.
Jerry kicked ass this ep.
!
show just keeps getting on better and better.
I'm going to miss the doomed reality versions of Morty's parents. That episode had some depth to it, especially considering that Rick shows he cannot really fix everything perfectly like he usually does.
Oh my god Zardoz references I underestimated this show.
Looks like the new episode leaked… technically.
Adult Swim. Gotta love them sometimes.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Finished it. It's one of the weaker episodes(It was a whole episode of eveyone watching TV), but the focus on the family dynamic was the best so far. That scene where it unexpectedly breaks into continuity for a rather heartwarming moment was nice.
I'm with Hiroy.
The B Plot (or was it the A plot?) with Jerry/Summer/Beth was the only thing really worth watching. The improve commercials felt odd and unneeded. From what I seen most didn't care for the episode, but then I've seen some post online where people want this to be a Treehouse of a Horror thing giving us commercial episodes every year. I don't know if I want that.
Also the Fake Door segment, I wasn't expecting to like it, but it got a laugh out of me haha.
I dunno. I thought most of the TV skits were pretty great (though, yes, some did miss the mark). The Lorenzo Music/Bill Murray bit was awesome.
I would not have minded it too much if the dialogue for Rick was a little more sensible. Sometimes he would switch the channels like he knows what exactly he's switching to. It honestly sort of threw off the idea that they were really just watching random crap on TV.
Aside that, the commercials were a hit or miss. Usually a hit whenever I look up certian skits on Google. Ants in Eyes Johnson, lol

I liked the commercials a lot. Some were definitely better than others, but they all worked as gags on the implications of infinite universes. It's like the Library of Babel; among those channels, there has to be one where they describe the cure to cancer in detail as it applies to our world and there must also necessarily be one where hamsters live in people's butts.
Oh god. The end of this episode!
Oh god. The end of this episode!
It was so glorious
I could watch so many more permutations of this with all different kinds of scum bags.
The ending was so random but so awesome. Getting buff to beat up the f**king devil, now that's hardcore.
Also: figures Jerry would be in over his head on Pluto.

It's funny that the sign changes right before he gets beaten to a pulp.

Could be a intentional or a last minute edit to say "Fags" instead of "You" and they missed a frame or two.
Oh totally didn't notice that great catch haha this show xD
With how good this show is with continuity, I wish they left Rick and Summer like that part of the plot for the next episode.
So yeah, Close Encounters of the Rick-Kind was pretty amazing. This has become my favorite show by far this year.
This episode was pretty genius:
! Especially when you realize how much sense it makes for Evil Morty to have been in control the whole time. Dude not only spent his time killing Ricks (something that makes sense for a Morty versed in the true ways of Rick), but also showed that he was capable of stealing their intelligence, which tells us how he was able to pull off his scheme.
Well that was probably my favorite episode so far.
I know they were corny, but I couldn't but giggle at the Rick puns. Also:
"it's not laughing at your dumb jokes, that's just a random sound it makes every 10 seconds"
I'm so glad I found this wonderful show when it was still young. It's still young, but it's so excellent. This episode was just excellent.
Yeah, this show has come pretty far pretty fast from its first couple episodes.
The craziest part I think is that even this early in it actually has continuity… whereas most shows of this sort would typically be very much stand alone never mentioned again sorts of things.
the blankets given to all the morty's was a nice touch.
soo….the season finale aired on Monday. Guess that'll be it for Rick & Morty for a while.
! What a season ender haha. I never thought one could mourn the loss of Lincoln and Hitler's combination, but hey…...loved the ending montage.
! Still, I have to say how much this show surprised me. Like from the commericals and stuff it was clear this was going to be a crude, Back to the Future-esque parody with wacky science hijinxs. First episode didn't leave a strong impression, but the most part, every episode afterward did. Not just joke-wise, but character interactions and those moments of....well, deepness.
! scratches head Eh, sorry for rambling. Show's creative, funny, and not afraid to try different things. Can't wait for season two.
Yeah, I kind of wish they'd held the pilot episode and just aired it between seasons. It was far and away the weakest episode, and not the best first impression. (And constantly rerunning the first… 3? didn't help either.) The show was pretty strong throughout, surprisingly so.
What most got me is that they held onto the fact they were in an alternate universe that they started from and Morty thought about his dead alter self buried in the yard every morning. That's when the show truly won me over... when the same thing is something Futurama did as a throwaway gag but never mentioned again. And the growth of the family so quickly.
Looking forward to season 2.

Yep, stuff like that. I also really like how the show began to gradually involve Summer, Jerry, and Beth into situations….not just their own family subplot, but sometimes pertaining to Rick and Morty('s adventures)
like when Jerry and Morty went to Pluto, for instance. Jerry gets all cocky and lets the power get to his head, but Morty sticks up for him, he gains perspective....neat father-son moment at the end...
:wassat:->->uaaaagh=me when my friend was explaining to me why he laughed at the bukakke line.
Believe it or not that's a word that's not inherently dirty in Japanese at least as far as I knew.
I'm pondering what kind of pain Rick may be in. It could be something to do with his wife, or maybe he's dying. I'm guessing the earlier because there are some subtle hints of Rick's past life. Can't wait for Season 2 tho. This show exceeded my initial love for it by thousand folds. Was really expecting it Rick's relationship with Morty to be more abusive in a bizzare "we are always together forever friendship" sort of way, but damn. Wasn't expecting this much subtle layers to them.
My favorite moments has to be whenever Rick shows that he isn't a complete asshole, but I just love Rick. Flaws and everything in the whole damned package
I read on Reddit that Rick's voice is just Justin's impression of a drunk Dan Harmon. Which is great, because Rick kept reminding me of Dan so much, it was throwing me off.
We interviewed the animation director at Rick and Morty, and he's a huge One Piece fan. He talked with us about the popularity of One Piece in the American animation industry and his work on the show: http://onepiecepodcast.com/podcast-episodes/2014/11/episode-347-straw-hat-pirates-of-the-pancreas-bryan-newton/
sigh…and I thought this thread was bumped with news of potential new episodes for the upcoming season.
Alas
New episodes were announced for probably summer of next year(or just next year), so we gots lots of time to wait.
On this subject, I'm really surprised how popular this show got. To think I was following it along with other fans that wanted others to watch the show before it became "a thing".

Byran Newton sounded like a really morbidly fun dude(I'm a morbid person, so I like morbid people), and he was a great guest in the manga recap. You guys should definitely try to have him on as a reoccurring special guest. Reminds me that I need to buy the DVD or BR for the commentary. It was nice getting some background behind the making of certian scenes, especially that one during the chase sequence in the first episode and the origins of Rick's flask.

We'll hopefully have him on as a recurring guest in 2015! We had way too much fun recording with him, so we definitely wouldn't want it to be a one time thing. We're all huge fans of Rick and Morty, so it was a surreal experience. Bryan's also on the Meeseeks and Rixty Minutes commentary (and the special 'featurette') on the BR/DVD. I've watched that set at least ten times now, it's definitely worth picking up.
Get excited for season two!
Wubba Lubba Dub Dub!! Can't wait till July 26th.
Argh a whole month? So close D:
Episode 1 and 2 of season 2 leaked. They're great.
http://digg.com/2015/rick-and-morty-leak-season-2
First two eps if you really need to see them now.
Of course it'll mean a longer wait till the next new one….
Just to tempt you further
I kinda enjoy this series. The first episode was pretty meh but got better along the way.
Apparently the first two episode of season 2 got leaked out…probably would get taken down sooner or later.
Saw the leaked eps:
! I have to say, that scene in the second ep where Fart drives the gearman to suicide, ending in the mass deaths, set to melancholy music, I think that is just one of the most perfectly Rick and Morty scenes and I love it. It's just such great embodiment of the nihilistic sci-fi at the heart of the show.
! Both eps were terrific, but that scene was a standout to me.
Didn't see the leaks so I caught episode 1 of the new season today:
! Aww man, you just have to love the strong continuity of this show. It literally begins with time about to unfreeze from the massive party last season. Then something screws up and time becomes uncertain. I found this plotline to be extremely fascinating, and of course things only got worse before they were fixed.
! I mean the scene where Rick gave Morty his collar to escape the collapsing timescapes…..it was akin to him shooting the Jellybean King; for all of the gruff he gives to Morty, deep down, he really loves his grandson (and granddaughter)
! Beth and Jerry's plot was pretty great too ("don't you need give a kitchen a manicure???") Got a craving for ColdStone now.
