No, why would it be? It's not like he's a murderer, he's "just" an ass. It's crappy, but I try to separate art and artist from another.
Good to know! Cause I've been waiting along time for this show

as someone not educated in the DC canon, the discovery of a villain named Granny Goodness made my day!
i've gone through some pics of her on google and it seems the type of character that Kathy Bates would have a field day playing her

She played a pretty large role in season 3 of Young Justice, and was a recurring Darkseid minion in the DCAU, mostly the Superman cartoon.
She was voiced by Ed Asner in that version which is kind of amazing.
ooof I dropped s03 of YJ around episode 04 or 05, but i'm having trouble to remember her. maybe she apperared later on?
anywho, thanks for the vid, Robby. i was under the impression that she would sound like Divine, with a bit of softness on her tone, but Ed just choose violence all the way lol.
I've never really cared of Asner as Granny Goodness. It just reeks of transphobia and transphobic tropes, not to mention just winds up taking a role away from women in general when women already have a much more limited scope of roles they can get.

He also voiced her in Superman/Batman Apocalypse, also being amazing:

I can understand the feeling, and I might have agreed more if Asner hadn't been so damn awesome. But to my knowledge that is the only time she was voiced by a man, and I don't think any man can succeed Asner. She's been voice by women in several other versions:
And I'm sure if she ever shows up in the movies they'll find an amazing actress for her too. (I vote for Kathy Bates)

Yeah, she doesn't appear until later in the season. I just finished season 3 myself and I'd say it's worth finishing up if you can get around to it. Also, in this version Granny Goodness has a more conventional old lady voice.

Either casted as other females or young boys?

I don't think cis women should be playing trans boys, no. Cis women playing cis boys isn't an issue.

Oh now I get you. That certainly does present a problem.
Suicide Squad made 800 million (based almost entirely on the strength of its trailers.) So of course another one got greenlit.
Birds of Prey was generally liked… by the audiences that saw it. But the title was bad bad bad.
The title of the film really should've been Harley Quinn and Friends.
The title of the film really should've been Harley Quinn and Friends.
"Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)" would have been a fine title to throw on the title card, but the actual advertised movie needed to be something else.
Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey might have worked better. But even though Harley is popular, is she well known enough for mainstream audiences?
Instead of trying to do a DC cinemaverse like Marvel did… they should just do "Tales of Batman" or something, and throw that label on anything Bat related, same way Star Wars does. Get the audiences used to variety and weird differences and multiple Bats, and just crank out a new Bat project every year since they're doing that anyway.
I wouldn't mind a Batman Legends Of The Dark Knight Animated Series.
Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods casting
! Last year, comedian Sinbad was confirmed. His role wasn't confirmed, but it's rumored that he is playing Tawky Tawny
! What was confirmed last month is that Helen Mirren will play the villain Hespera. She is the daughter of Atlas. Today, Lucy Liu was confirmed to play Hespera's sister, Kalypso.
I only know Hespera and Kalypso from the original Grecian myths, I don't know anything about them in DC comics.
I only know Hespera and Kalypso from the original Grecian myths, I don't know anything about them in DC comics.
I've done a search on Google and the DC Comics wiki and, as far as I can tell, Hespera and Kalypso aren't from the comics. I guess they're just completely new characters for the movie?
Also, what the heck's going on with Mister Mind?
Sweet Tooth Trailer finally
Edit:
HBO Max has finally cast their first star for the Green Lantern Corps series. Finn Wittrock will be playing Guy Gardner.
The 3 main characters will be Alan Scott, Guy Gardner and half alien Bree Jarta (original character).
More story details that some might not want to see.
! Written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Seth Grahame-Smith, Green Lantern reinvents the classic DC property through a story spanning decades and galaxies, beginning on Earth in 1941 with the very first Green Lantern, secretly gay FBI agent Alan Scott, and 1984, with cocky alpha male Guy Gardner (Wittrock) and half-alien Bree Jarta. They’ll be joined by a multitude of other Lanterns — from comic book favorites to never-before-seen heroes.

1 of the 7 kingdoms that was mentioned in the 1st film. Vulko said Arthur didn't really need to be educated on that one. Mera's dad said that kingdom is done for like the Deserters.
I wish they were still doing the horror film for the Trench. Looks like WB kills off most of their James Wan produced content. First Swamp Thing, then the Trench.
I'm having a hard time seeing John Cena doing the bad things, his worst wrong-doings in life would've been not returning books to the library.
The Harley Quinn can't get away with stuff, but Margot Robbie sure can.
Joaquin Cosío is a fine actor, I really hope he gets as much screen time as he deserves.

Wait, they are not doing the Trench horror film anymore? How many announced but abandoned projects does that make?
Andy (Director of next year's Flash film) has dropped the third of the costume designs for the heroes of the film. I'm more interested in Supergirl than Flash and Bruce.
Is that blood on Bats' icon?
Is that blood on Bats' icon?
That or his PB & J sammy got all over his costume again!
I know there are rumors of the Keaton Batman having become a killer. Sounds a bit tired, IMO, but we'll see how things roll. I just hope we get that good ol' German Expressionistic set design energy from the Burton films.
OMG this looks so fun.
After cancelling Swamp Thing, which Madam Xanadu appeared in, Warner is developing a solo series for her. It's part of the JL Dark universe they're building. Hopefully Xanadu means my fav Etrigan is not too far behind.
So now these are confirmed as in development or filming for HBO Max

HBO is really trying to take over Netflix, aren't they?
Here’s a BTS pic of Shazam 2 family with the new suits. The actress who plays Mary in the movies now plays her camper hero counterpart as well.
!

Yeah, it's an all out war. They all used and studied Netflix and are prepared to go at it. Disney+ is in the lead when it comes to the streaming services outside of Netflix for shows and films. Mandalorian and their library are to thank for that.
Paramount+ and Amazon Prime are loading up. HBO Max has a decent library. Most have a library, but it's the exclusive content that really push the needle.

Feels like Hulu is the only one that remembers that streaming is about being able to provide all sorts of shows and movies to watch. And Disney will always have an edge with that magic vault of theirs.
Definitely makes me wonder if DC will learn from Marvel with their six episode series format. I feel like that would be the path forward for them. If Marvel continues to focus on film why not focus instead on film-level mini-series to sustain a prolonged subscriber base.
?
Some of the confirmed cast for Black Adam
!
Really looking forward to Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate. If he does it well it could be a bigger iconic role for him than James Bond (unlikely, but possible).
And maybe I'm reading too much into it, but did they cast a black actor as Hawkman just so they can have a flying black hero named after a bird like Marvel does?

No .

That seems like a stretch to me.
I, for one, welcome another winged hero with way less clothes and titties out (please don't give him any armor)
Hee hee. They released a special King Shark Suicide Squad trailer for Shark Week:

DC finally cast their Batgirl with Leslie Grace. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will be directing the HBO Max film.

Apparently Doctor Fate's costume is going to be total CGI motion-capture:

Not sure how I feel about it, but I love Brosnan's reaction: "I do have to put the motion capture suit on, which is an acting challenge in itself, but lucky I was brought up in the theater, so I know how to get into tights."
…Why would you make Fate's costume CG? Unless they're doing something super weird It's totally one that could be done practically.
Right? It seems silly, and you would've thought that Green Lantern taught people just how silly it is. So it's worrisome, but I guess we'll just have to wait until we actually see it to make a final decision.

I haven't seen GL and never will but was that really the big problem with that movie?
Hardly, it was just another nail in the coffin.
Suicide Squad was da shit. Easily the best WB comic book film and James Gunn's magnum opus. Give James Gunn more toys to play with, he is a miracle worker. He made me give a shit about Rick Flag and Harley Quinn.
@TLC:
Easily the best WB comic book film
That's not a hard bar to surpass, but given that he made the niche GoTG a pop hit I may try watch this one and forget that the previous SQ ever happened.
I know I’m beating a dead horse here but if TLC liked it, it must be a decent enough film.
Xolo campaigned for Jaime and he got the role. Blue Beetle HBO Max film now has it's lead.
