Jackie Mason, whom I only remember as Krusty's dad, dead at 93
RIP Those We Lost in 2021
-
-
Aww seriously? Damn. I know him from a few cartoons (He was the Sandman in Fairly Oddparents and Mort in Drinky Crow Show) including The Simpsons as well as his role in The Jerk and Caddyshack II. Love his delivery on his jokes, sad to lose him.

Damn. ZZ Top was never one of my personal favorite bands, but they were fantastic all the same. R.I.P. Dusty.

Actor Ed Asner passed away today at age 91. A few of his many, many roles from over the years include the voice of Carl from Up, the voice of J. Jonah Jameson from the 1994 Spider-Man animated series, and Santa Claus in Elf.
-
And lest we forget…
R.I.P. Ed
-
RIP Ed. Such a legend..
-
At least he got be be Cosgrove one last time.
-
RIP Ed. He had so many great roles over the years from Lou Grant to Cosgrove. He'll be missed.
-
He was great in everything.

Ugh this was all I needed today on top of my uncle dying.
The eerie thing too I found out that they were doing some shorts based on Up, Dug Days, on Disney + the day before he passed. So..was it a omen?
In any case though yeah, along with Mary Tyler Moore, he likewise was in a lot of cartoons I watched of course. Heck, while I like JK Simmons as Jay Jonah Jamerson, Asner will always be the definitive portrayal for me. His voice just suited the design so well. And of course Carl from Up, one of my top fave Pixar movies. Soon as I saw that preview for the movie I was sold instantly, it was perfect.
-Sigh- I hope he and my uncle are having a few laughs on the other side there. May the two of them rest in peace.
-
Some of the shock of losing Asner gets lost in him living past 90. Once someone you know hits 80, you should start mentally preparing yourself for their death. Something my mom taught me a couple years before my grandfather died.
RIP Asner. Odd how some actors with years in the business get best remembered for their works aimed at kids.

After releasing an instagram video that played like a suicide note yesterday, ex-wrestler Shannon Spruill/WCW's Daffney has taken her own life at the age of 46.
https://www.fightful.com/wrestling/daffney-unger-passes-away-age-46
If you or someone you know has suicidal thoughts, please remember/let them know: every tomorrow has the chance to be better. Seek professional help, talk to loved ones, take that long-awaited me time. You do not need to be quiet, you are not a horrible person for feeling horrible inside, you can be better.
-
Daffney in my opinion was one of the great parts of the final year of WCW. Also I really enjoyed her run in TNA. She's going to be missed.

Comedian Norm Macdonald has passed. Cancer, he was 61.
Not a major fan of his but I remember liking his sitcom when it was running. Dirty Work wasn't a bad film either. R.I.P Norm.
-
Aw…this guy was my favorite SNL news anchor, and generally funny man.
One funny skit he did was this appearance on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien just before Conan got forced off:
-
-
Oh man. That shit sucks. He wasn't my favorite comedian or anything, but I'd seen him in a lot of things and…man, he was still relatively young.
R.I.P. Norm.
-
Did not expect him to die any time soon. Sucks. He was really funny.
-
He was hiding his cancer so this came out of nowhere. Just like Chadwick Boseman.
-
Oh christ. It took my breath away when I heard about Norm. Rest in peace Turd Ferguson.
-

Dude was in a lot of urban comedies back in the day, especially ones with some rapper like Ice Cube and Master P. Was never a big name but he was funny and I enjoyed his work. May he rest in peace. -
