Kinda on edge right now. I've been waiting and waiting for my Biochemistry grade, and now I just found out I got <50 on the final (ACS version). Now I've been down this before - I did worse on my Physics final and I skated with a B. Plus the teacher here was laid-back, and definitely seems like the curving type.
But you can never be so sure. Give me the grade and end my anxiety, hgnnnnnnnnh
How was your Day 2 (general chat)

To the envy of most people who've had to suffer illness in the cold holiday period, my ailments only lasted two days. Now I'm right as rain again :D

Alright, who else besides Faith and Count?

Hopefully they'll survive all the excruciating initiation tests and be able to get here and declare themselves :ninja:

New red stars ? Wow, this brings me memories, congratulations to everyone who got the first star, now, the road for the rest of the 125 stars is a long and tricky one, good luck, you will need.:ninja:
As for my day, today I went with my father and the nurse who took care of my mother to a hospital, because the son of the nurse suffers from epilepsy, but she is poor and couldn't pay for the treatment, so me and my father helped her by paying the son's treatment.
Besides that, I am making dayly walks, now they are 2 hours long + no junk food = I am starting to see some positive changes in my body.

A bit sad that my Ipod just bit the dust. Had that thing since summer of 2006 and it has served me well. Now I have to replace it at some point.

Work: The Tupac exposition was great, but it ended in this month, we are now doing the next big expo, this time about Silvio Santos (very famous founder of a TV broadcast channel in my country). Besides that, each weekend we are doing small events with competitions of music/dance/cosplay/games/etc outside the museum, its great !!
Life: My father introduced me to a friend, we talked for a bit and she asked me if we could hang out this weekend, this really surprised me.

So I officially got the letter that all my school loans have been paid off. Pretty good feeling after working my butt off for years to whittle it down. Next up, finish that degree this Spring that I first started taking classes for over a decade ago.

There are definitely those with worse as I started off at comm. college where I was able to work enough to pay it off. So only 2.5 years worth of university loans. I know others with double of what i had.

Well good and bad day yesterday, I'll give the good first…
So I've decided that in two months time I am going to Japan for 3-6 months, depending on how much money I have, also the tourist Visa is a max of 3 months and can be reset.
This means I have to quit my job, which is good and I'm good at it, but so dull and not my thing at all.So basically, quit job, go to Japan, come back and start a bachelor degree in business. This is all confirmed so I'm happy about this :)
On the other side of things had a bit of a mixed emotions night last night between, happy as it was a good night out, but one of the guys that was out with us creeped me out the way she was handling a girl friend of mine.
Last night I crashed at a girl friends house after a night out and she was really drunk, she let me go back to her place since I did once before and it was more convenient for the next day. I wanted to go more because I was scared of this guy "doing something". The way this other guy was handling her last night was so forceful and especially towards the end, dragging her around by the arm, and later forcefully moving her around on the train when going back together to crash at her place. Another one of her friends literally told that guy when we were out "Stop holding onto her like that, you seriously need to stop", I wasn't the only thinking it and I never seen anything like it.
In the end I fell asleep, woke up later and saw those two sleeping in the same bed.
I don't know if he actually "slept" with her per say, but when she woke up more conscious of what was going on later in the morning, she quickly sprinted out the room and went onto the Sofa, guy chased her and she pushed him away. So I feel maybe I should have stepped in or maybe that's too wierd?I'm sort of against sleeping with someone when they're drunk but at the same time I'm jealous. Maybe it shouldn't be my business but I can't help but feel annoyed and jealous and thinking should I have done something more?

Missed this. Congrats Woody! :D that's an amazing accomplishment!

To my unpleasant surprise, my dog had a light stroke, I was able to rescue her on time, I took her to the vet, there, he prescribed two medicines, after almost 30 days she is almost better. For a moment I thought I had to sacrifice her, so I am very relived.
As for myself, I started to hang out with that new friend, she is a great person, I still have a hard time trusting (well, not only her…), but I think I will learn to trust others. One good thing she is doing is giving me daily motivations. :)

Wooden's No Internet at Home Journal
Day 7The times are perilous, morale has reached drastic lows and murmurs of mutiny seem to be around every corner. "We'll be there tomorrow." Xfinity says. I've heard that line before, it does little to raise my hopes. I'm left with nothing to do but play console games offline and pray to a wi-fi god that I'm not even sure exists anymore. I begin to question my own sanity as I found myself talking to the wall this morning, we talked about our opinions on which was the better web browser. That fool of a wall kept pushing IE, what else should I expect from someone that never leaves the house, stupid wall. My only solace is in the darkness of sleep, the other night I dreamed I was streaming Netflix, was a lousy show, horrible plot, but waking up was one of the most tragic experiences of my 27 years. I may not make it, tell my Facebook friends that I truly did love them, even the ones I unfollowed. I fear naught but misery awaits me as I hope for Internet to return tomorrow.
Sincerely yours, Wooden_Giraffe

I found out today that I was accepted into my state university's scholar's program!…which they told me about last week on the portal, but I forgot the portal existed. I'm not sure whether to be happy or worried.

Went to the theaters with my mother, aunt, and cousins to see Get Out, Jordan Peele's directorial debut. It was a very good film, funny, tense, and thought provoking.

This month, I enrolled myself in a course of world literature in Harvard, it is a 3 months long course and so far, its amazing, sure, I already knew about some basic stuff like Camoes (respect for the portuguese bros) and Homer, but I also learned about Gilgamash, Lu Xun, Eileen Chang and Jorge Luis Borges (with a little cameo of Astor Piazzolla <3). I can not wait to start reading them, soon, my personal library will be huge. HYPE !!
About my companion, she is going to visit me 3 days a week starting monday, I am happy, I guess it will be too much, but I am anxious… Well... At least I am not going to be alone anymore.

Ooh, that sounds pretty exciting! I definitely wouldn't mind hearing about some of your growing literary knowledge in the future.
Don't knock it until you try it. Loneliness can easily get monotonous. I hope she's fun to be with.

Yeah, quite a surprise coming from a guy with a kawaii girls fixation… AHAHA. Really now, the course is great, it even has essay questions, rather then those annoying, unoriginal and predictable multiple choice questions.
And NP, she is a great person. ;)

Actually, I thought it was surprising because I haven't heard anything your line of work as librarian until now lol.
!
That's fortunate to hear.

Went to see Book of Mormon for my birthday.
Absolutely wonderful and I was grinning from ear to ear afterwards (had to force myself not to smile otherwise I'd look like a crazy person in public).

In the past, I used to post a lot about my job in this thread history. Nowadays, not that much, but this course is a motivation to start posting more about my librarian shenanigans, I mean, if someone is interested.
Ah, another course I became interested in was a graphical design course specialised in covers of LPs and CDs. I would do it just for fun.
Another thing, the course I am doing also teaches about contemporary authors, which is great for a old literature aficionado as myself.

Went to the DMV to renew my license. Relatively simple process, thankfully.

I was at a concert last night, the second time in my whole life. Sabaton. It was awesome~

I spent all day looking for spots to post flyers for this Tax March I'm going to in April. Due to a fear of people being hostile to me posting on their property, I only posted like 10 in spots that were both visible to walkabouts yet empty enough to me to post and run. I still haven't posted all my copies, but I had to get home before it got too late. I'm going again tomorrow and probably in the weeks to come.
Then I read that there's a storm coming in a few days. Not sure those flyers are going to survive. Then I read somewhere that a better way to post flyers is to ask campuses, businesses, and the like for permission rather than what I was doing. So, I'm learning as I go and making mistakes–many, many mistakes.
Sunday Edit: Oh sweet, no one posted so I can talk about my second day. I tried asking various businesses if they could post it in their breakroom, and I got 4 places to do it. Turns out no one would let me post a flyer in public view, which makes sense seeing as I've never seen a flyer posted in my neighborhood. This'll be tougher than I thought, especially cause I didn't think this through. I'll try again my next day off--I have like 90 more of these to pass out.

My Skype friends gave me a great vote of self confidence tonight~
After I asked them about what I'm doing unconsciously, since so many people open up to me after chatting for a bit.

Honestly, I can like any music regardless of genre, but metal is what usually speaks to me on a whole different level. It has such a power to it, that it helped me in some rather difficult moments. Not talking about Sabaton in particular, just the whole genre.
Don't worry, I'm not the "nationalist metalhead" with the Big-Hungary tattoo on my back. In fact, since I don't have my sweet camo-cargo pants anymore (I've put on some healthy weight), no one could really tell if I was a metalhead anyways.

When work saddles you with a last minute 5-day trip to somewhere you've never driven before. Luckily I hear Bridgeport has terrible traffic and I should feel right at home.

I'm curious, did they perform tracks from Carolus Rex in english or swedish? I remember the singer joking around back in 2013 when he was on stage in Metaltown. He had a hard time to get the people in a polish concert to sing a long to the swedish version of 'a Lifetime of War'.

This time they sang in English only, but I remember a few years back (at my first concert) they sung both Livstid i krig and Gott mitt uns in Swedish. He would ask us which we'd language we'd like to hear them in, and I guess we sort of voted louder for the Swedish one. I had no problem singing along (since I prefer the Swedish one anyways) and also because I'd been studying Swedish by that time.

I'm impressed non-scandinavians prefer the swedish version too lol. But then again, en Livstid i Krig is really meant to be heard in swedish in my own humble opinion. The english version of Carolus Rex doesn't really strike a cord with me as much.

I guess even Sabaton does something worthwhile once in a while.
And a bunch of non-Swedes get to learn about our most prolific warlords.

Anyone know how to sleep?
- I exercise at 2-3 pm. ( I can'd do it earlier due to time constraints.
- Usually I'd be exhausted at around 4pm - 7pm.
- Around 8pm, I'd start feeling less tired. I eat a good meal around that time.
- When I get ready to sleep at around 9-10pm, I can't fall asleep. I start feeling hungry even if I ate just 50 minutes earlier. It's like my metabolism speeds up at night.
- It takes time for me to sleep. When I do sleep, it's not even really deep sleep.
Any advice?
-
Just stay up until you fall asleep from sheer exhaustion. That's what i usually do
-
My sleep cycle has been shifted into the morning hours for a while now.
My 7 hours of sleep are usually 4:30am to 11:30am -

Try eat a bigger dinner earlier in the evening. If you eat dinner to soon before you go to bed, you'll have all this extra energy that you won't need. If you're feeling hungry when you go to bed, it's probably because you don't eat enough. If you drink coffee try to cut down the amount of cups. I hope it helps :)
