Yep, and what better place to "rampage" than at a festival of students?
Another PR disaster for the school is coming.

@Count:
I'm still trying to figure out this guy's power. The way he says "Cut" like a movie director and immediately shows up outside of the store makes me think of time stopping/skipping powers. His showman personality fits some sort of movie-themed Quirk since movies rely a lot on technological illusions for entertainment, which is the gimmick for the Spider-Mam villain Mysterio. But that would require big buffers to not be overpowered, and it doesn't explain why the store looks all curvy or his goofy subtitles.
I was thinking of something similar to Viewtiful Joe where he can only uses his powers if he is being on film.
"Practically Zero"
That exact phrasing is an artifact of the translation.
All it says is "very low chance."
Your point still stands, though! When low chances are spoken of, surely they will come to pass.
I'm trying to wrap my mind around the fact that sumo hero has some tubes coming out of his hind area. Which are connected to what look like exhaust vents around his bracelets. Could it be?
!
Any ideas what his name might be? Any japanese puns and stuff?

I feel like it will "almost happen".
He reminds me of Present Mic.
Argh. I was really hoping this arc would stay slice of life. I have zero interest in Eri being reintroduced into the plot.

Yeah honestly I dislike her, but the characters/the plot/Horikoshi seem to be in love with her and her 1-dimensional identity of "victim."
Having her die in the Hassaikai raid would've been a great downer moment and then we could just get on with our lives :(
EDIT: Oh wait I'm sorry she likes apples now. Second dimension achieved.

It's just weird to me that last chapter Aizawa said let's shelve the Eri questions to Asui. Then next chapter she's back…I thought the author was telling us readers she wouldn't be relevant for a while.
But now we're pretty much guaranteed to have Jiro's hard work ruined. And Deku to be on a pity train because he brought her to the festival and put her and others in danger. If the festival was to be ruined I would have preferred it just include this Gentle Guy and Imp Girl.
The school really shouldn't have so many disasters in less than a year.

"million to one chances crop up nine times out of ten."
Calling it:
Gentle attacks School Festival, Eri's power "rampages" but wait!- she can actually control it now because "I don't want anyone to hurt my new friends!", Eri beats Gentle/La Brava by turning them into babies or something and saves the day, Eri is carried onstage as honorary rock star and gets a bucket of candy apples.
(and then she fixes Mirio I guess)
End of chapter cliffhanger: baby Gentle uses Yo Tube fastforwarding to grow up again and slinks off into the shadows

An alternative I saw and liked is Gentle is the one who successfully gets Eri to smile, whatever ride happens.
Hori is still afraid to bench the action for too long, that's kinda sad, but at least Gentle seems exactly like the villain that causes shenanigans in his path, kinda like a non psychopath golden age Joker.
And by God, why didn't they table Eri, although I admit giving a smile in her failed attempt to smile.
I liked her "hungry for apples" face.

I really really like this.
Hoping that happens.
I personally don't mind Eri, and I do think that bringing her to the festival is a good idea, considering the character's intentions.
Definitely a good place to start when cheering up a kid. Go have some fun! :D
There's nothing wrong with Horikoshi wanting to flesh out Eri's character. It is also a perfect opportunity for Mirio and Deku to show that they aren't only heroes because of their strenght by making Eri get over her trauma.
Exactly. A good way to fix a one dimensional character is to…. you know... give them some more screentime so they can build those dimensions.
I do hope the arc will stay light-hearted and won't get too serious, though. I want the Cultural Festival to be fun with the class.
Since Gentle seems more like a guy in need for attention than someone evil, I'm not too worried as long we get to see some 1-A.
I love having Eri back. We get a chance to see her develop into more than a save-me character. At the very least Deku is putting his skills to the test trying to help Eri emotionally. We already know that's an important requirement in MHA world.
Don't see Eri using her power this arc, but I don't know how long powerless Mirio will drag out either. Don't think the Deku/Eri combo is coming back. Maybe this arc inspires Eri to become a hero. Gentle's UA attack does ruin a theory I heard about Eri moving in the dorms for safety and close proximity to Aizawa. If Gentle can break UA's defenses without inside help he's more than worthy to join the League.
Horikoshi's taking a slow approach to the arc. I can see Gentle taking a backseat for a bigger focus on the students and Eri. Either he'll wreck everything at the very end or get stomped quickly and the festivities resume. Just have Gentle attack during Class A's performance and let Class B give him the beatdown.
As a fervent Eri critic a dozen chapters ago, I'm cool with a new arc hopefully fleshing her out. Hopefully. I fear that she's going to only feel self-guilt and look awkwardly cute with candy apple gags until the inevitable smile moment near the end of the arc, which would only be a cool moment for whoever helps Eri, not Eri herself.

I still wanted that theory of Shigaraki recruiting her to be true with caring hands and destructive Quirk motifs between Deku and Shigaraki.
EDIT: Oh wait I'm sorry she likes apples now. Second dimension achieved.
lol.
By the way… is Mirio's honeymoon couple outing quote staying intact? I'm not really too keen on how creepy that sounds...

I would really like that. Something about Gentle and La Brava's goofy behavior makes me think I'll like them a lot more than those bland Cleansers. Overhaul fused himself with two other people and still couldn't complete one compelling character.

I'd say more Silver Age Joker. Golden Age Joker often killed people with his shenanigans and had guns. Silver Age Joker is… well, the Silver Age lol.
Funnily enough, I've seen this "supervillains livestream entertaining shenanigans" shtick before in an issue of Superior Spider-Man. Expanding that into a whole arc could be pretty cool.
!

We shouldn't assume that Gentle is full-on evil yet. He can get prominent focus in balance with lighthearted/somewhat serious student focus. And this culture festival incident could actually lead to Eri moving into U.A., especially if she can show that she can control her Quirk (I don't really want that to happen, but I have to admit it's possible.
I also doubt he's joining the League of Villains since Compress is already doing his own fancy magician showmanship shtick. Although they could be related somehow for all we know, especially since they're both old.

I cannot comment because
JK IT'S CREEPY AS FUCK
Just get on tinder, Mirio.
Meh, I don't care for Eri's character at all. She servied her purpose in the previous arc. I hope she just goes away(possibly come back after the Timeskip) and doesn't become a fixture in the series.
Also, the series is still lacking in legitimate threats to our protagonist. I think the series needs an adult villain whose ruthless(evil version of Stain) . So far the Villain Association has been very lacklustre and the 8 precepts of death were ultimately a joke.
Stain was the Zabuza of the series, now we need an Orochimaru.

- editors could always change whatever I did or did not write, and then I'm implicitly outing them as biased
- posting any opinion one way or the other could get me doxxed by people on either side of the fence

I confess that, while odd, I didn't really make much of the line beyond a joke that fell flat.

All the more reason to deal with it now, and get some closure. Then we can put Eri behind us and not worry about her until it's time to re-power Mirio.
Oh I notice something interesting,Tokoyami is in the supplementary lessons too. did he got an internship too?

"Honeymoon couple outing" is so oddly specific though. If Mirio just said a "date", I can sort of chalk it up to him joking in a gentlemanly way. But honeymoon couple… What?

Hence "joke that fell flat". Horikoshi took the joke farther than he should have and the scene suffered for it, but otherwise I never took Mirio as being serious about it.
I actually really liked Eri-Chan this chapter, I think this is a creative way to add another dynamic to the festival arc, and it's improving on something I wasn't big on previously.

Same here. I'm not seriously thinking this implies anything about Mirio (hopefully). Although I still don't know what Horikoshi was thinking by referring to a honeymoon of all the analogies he could come up with.
I really hope that Gentle and La Brava don´t end becoming serious villains, the fact that he didn´t want the money and that last page makes me think of gag characters.
Also I saw someone saying that they look like characters from Gash Bell and now I can´t unsee it, it´s actually a good thing though.

They totally do!
I was also reminded of Baby Doll (specifically from Batman: TAS), aka a grown woman in a child's body.
As an aside, "La Brava" probably comes from the novel of the same name, set in a part of Florida that has history with movie stars.
I don't know if this'll be relevant for the arc, but I feel as though Aoyama will really be able to relate to this guy.
Are we sure her name is "La Brava" and not "Love Rubber"?
The hearts make me think that's the actual name.

I wouldn't expect a nam like Love Rubber to be present in a series like this.
Then again, Street the honeymoon thing maybe I shouldn't be quick to assume.
Katakana for rubber is ラバー not ラバ.
…And robber is ロバ, because I was compelled to doublecheck every option...

Well, she does remind me of Mineta.

So it's right? Nice!
That and the honeymoon thing were the parts I was most curious for you input about, but obviously you can't say too much until the official release.
Did they just rob the convenience store the protag from Vigilantes works at?
So it's right? Nice!
If it's not La Brava it's doing a very good impression of being La Brava lol.
Plus there's the movie stars in Florida connection I mentioned.
Did they just rob the convenience store the protag from Vigilantes works at?
Gentle robs J-Store, Koichi works at Family Mort. Lots of parody conbinis to keep track of!
(they all look identical inside though, except MiniStop, which often has a side area with tables for sitting down and eating/drinking)
So our villains will be jokes villain. I prefer that. They remind me silver/golden age whatever the silliest period was called.
I would have mind if Eri was with Deku who is pretty meh but with Mirio's energy I don't mind.
I'm glad that we're getting more quirky villains to balance out the overly serious Stains, Overhauls and Tomuras of this world.
A hero story needs some Jokers and Riddlers to balance the Banes.
So what are that chances that La Brava and Gentle are related? They've got matching outfits, of course, but what stands out to me are the boldy outlined eyes and odd irises they both have.
On the other hand, Gentle has normal proportions while La Brava…doesn't.
By the way, I like how the ascending scale of villain threat is happening in MHA.
Serial Killer < Weakened Supervillain < Yakuza Drug Lord < Youtuber
I like this new guy, I was expecting a thief character, this shows kaitou kid.
Also I'm honestly okay with Eri, since more Eri means more Mirio. Although what the hell was up with his last line. I get the date part because it was said jokingly, but the honeymoon bit made me cringe a little. Lolicon Mirio doesn't need to be a thing, folks have been memeing that enough already as it is.

Pretty big leap from a drug lord to youtuber, though. Can't really imagine what would fit in next. Not many things worse than a Youtuber in this world. Social justice warrior? Or some vegan?

A politician, of course.
Or even worse, a politician apologist.
From Facebook.
A vegan villain, taking down the meat industry. So influential that the kid that talks to animals becomes his side kick.
@K.:

I always knew that Seiji Shishikura was the true protagonist of this manga. His meat packing Quirk held too much potential to be ignored. The first 100 chapters were just the prologue establishing the series' premise like the Golden Age in Berserk.
A politician, of course.
Or even worse, a politician apologist.
Or worse, a representative of a marginal party who thinks all the people should follow the same code of rules as them. We have a a politician like that in my country. Religious views, against sex education in schools, against gay marriage, against gay adoptions, against abortion. Fun fact: She owns a company that sells birth control products.
Horikoshi could make some nice twists by including power hungry politicians in the grand scheme. Not that familiar with the situation in Japan, though. How does the public view the people in charge/opposition?
Mangastream translation of the Hooneymoon stuff :
It's surely a joke but
But Mirio, you're creeping me. So is Horikoshi.
Mirio, try again when you are 40 and she is 30.
Oh! Duh!
Gentle and La Brava are also reminiscent of Black Jack and Pinoko.
