@Kaido:
…Except, as I pointed out, Carmel was no longer affiliated with the giants. She forsook her ties to Elbaf to keep Linlin around. Thus, though the residents there may still like her, there's no reason for Elbaf to take direct action. In fact, we've never seen them act on any regard purely out of revenge - Carmel's statement about preventing a war during her staged rescue of the pirates was a lie. Also, not to mention that Hajrudin was pretty much the only one that still wanted to kill Linlin out of honor when Jarl agreed to let her go for Carmel's sake.
You're completely making up some attribute about the giants and their honor that we have never seen in action - and given that what happened to Carmel after she broke ties with them was not related to them and was none of their business, there's even less reason for this attribute to suddenly pop up.
You certainly don't know what you're talking about… but neither did i.
I was looking for a pic to represent the true pride of Elbaf's warriors when i'd crossed with this:
!
The kingdom of Elbaf perfectly can find Charlotte Lin Lin to be undefeatable for them, plus their own law, they just might find her "the very righteous one", despite all kind of feelings towards her thanks to (maybe) have eaten Carmel who controlled the Sun God.
Still, to say that Giants' honor has never appeared, it implyes that you don't know much more than i, Usopp's prime reason to go to Elbaf is to learn from courageous warriors how to be a true warrior of the sea… and revenge, Dorry felt it against Galdino, back at Little Garden for letting him win against Brogy with the help of Mr.5
@Kaido:
Big Mom's gigantification project doesn't preclude the possibility of her gaining giant underlings. The former is a way to overcome the difficulties for her to achieve the latter, not that she doesn't want the latter. And her dream of literal eye to eye is not her ONLY dream - she's demonstrated time and time again now that she's obsessed with power, and so of course she'd take steps in that regard as well.
I find your point of view quite redundant, indirectly i stated this in my previous post to thought about it… so, thanks anyways, you put the same thing. The problem? You did it, not Oda. It could enhance the idea of Big Mom being obsessed with power.
@Kaido:
Big Mom demonstrated during the start of her pirating career that her dream comes with a great ignorance about the nature of other people. She has never "liked" people so much as viewed them as pets like the bear and wolf she wanted to get along, with the only person she's truly liked is Mother Carmel. She was legitimately confused about why people didn't want to live under her, and…killed them as a result. So her casting aside her husbands is really nothing new compared to everything else she's done...they've brought pleasure to her, they've brought influence to her, they've brought new species to her...but like all the people she was attempting to make "happy" as she terrorized their village, she never loved her husbands or children like a wife and mother should. Her dream of a happy utopia has always been in effect, but has always suffered in execution due to her inability to understand how people should be treated, which is why her family is the ticking time bomb that it is today.
If she never liked people, why does have a family? The risky thing about her dream is that Oda portrayed Linlin's dream to be, people of the same size thanks to being happy, eating good and having a nice life; When the very idea of gigantification is on the table, you can grasp that her dream has changed.
So at the main point of disagree is, why mix the proper fear of her ability that ends in the total acceptance of people to what she commands and the need to recreate a family to fulfill this dream? If you add her idea of being Pirate King, then she could just use fear to have all the people "happy" on the table and obligued to accept stay on the gigantification proyect.
The place of being a family's matriarch it's unnecessary, to me, an inconsistent flaw by now.
@Kaido:
I find it silly to call this fruit "ridiculous" when we've barely seen anything of it. You're taking something and assuming the worst of it: by looking at the lack of rules given in its one usage, you're putting yourself under the impression that it's overpowered. That's like thinking Big Mom is the weakest Yonko because she's old, fat, wears a sundress, and never demonstrated any ridiculous feats - look what happened to that! Assuming the worst based on a lack of evidence is NEVER the way to go.
Also, your statement that the fruit can only create ingredients completely negates your argument in the previous post about why Streusen hasn't been able to immediately deal with Big Mom's food cravings…she's only craved dishes so far!
After reading your example, i understand your thoughts, the thing is that by now, Big Mom can be the most strongest Yonko.
My problem is, why Streussen has a devil fruit? It was completely needed for him to have the Kuku Kuku no Mi? Could he only just be a mere chef?
Then, my first issue was: Why a fruit that can make any ingredient possible exists? again… it is needed? I appreciate Oda's imagination, but here is unjustified!!! It doesn't make Totland arc better, much more when Streussen didn't die and has never appeared at Big Mom' side.
You say that i'm assuming the worst? then i ask you, what is your opinion about it? I've never implyed that it's "immediately" the way of action of his fruit, i said this:
Besides, why Linlin got her disorders with a chef at her side, everytime? I hope some background on Streussen, because it would not fit a shit
…
That fruit is ridiculous, much more when this character escaped death when Mom was asking those who made the wedding cake to make another...
The only man able to make it faster than anyone still is alive, really Oda What the fuck? Btw, Kaido, pay heed, food is what i call ingredients, dishes is what takes more complicate stuff to do, i never said that Streussen can imagine dishes.
The intro about the Croquembuche, the chef having issues about create another wedding cake, the Big Mom pirates going to different islands to pick ingredients… all wasted with a devil fruit that recreates ingredients just by cutting something else.
Literally, What the Fuck?
@Kaido:
Well, considering there's no such thing as power levels in OP, with the exception of Doriki…:ninja:
It's pointless to compare the effects of Haoshoku blasts when they were used in different places, not to mention that Big Mom's blast was accompanied by quite the scream. Plus, Big Mom didn't destroy the guns themselves - she destroyed their highly volatile shots, and the guns only had 1 shot each. There's a very clear difference between a normal object and an explosive that I probably shouldn't need to explain to you.
Also, I don't understand why you're complaining about the differences in crew sizes...do you not remember when Luffy's crew of 10 obliterated Hody's army of 100,000? Or when Shanks knocked out tons of Whitebeard's weaker crew members just by walking by them? Oda has demonstrated that both crew models can work equally as well, with a smaller crew sometimes having the benefit of having all of its members be strong while a larger one sometimes has the weakness of having tons of lackeys that can't do shit against strong people unless they have great numbers.
I struggle to not send you to read One Piece again, Kaido :getlost:
Powerlevels is anything measurable regarding powers… Bounties, Douriki, Haki, Devil Fruits usage, etc. The only exception is Fishman Karate, but i can perfectly put Douriki and bounties to their users... yet, there's only one thing that can't be trained and it's exactly what were discussing here... but not so fast; Haoshoku Haki can be enhanced instead of trained, so applying this, plus the situations where only has knocked people... you said that it's pointless to compare those situations?
Preposterous, just like you second idea of destroying "volatile shots", because if they're that volatile, how could be lauched by a gun resembling a bazooka?
I'm complaining because i think Shanks is awesome, and not just me, 90% of this forum must think like that... he only needed his crew to stop the Paramount war with marines, Shichibukais and one of the Yonko... and the greatest feat of power from Shanks is a Haki at the level of the first-mate of the Pirate King's crew -the most powerful pirate-, so when suddenly appears Big Mom saying that only with an army of giants she could defeat Shanks, but after some chapters she breaks something hard enough to be considered a missile with only an scream embued with Haoshoku, thing that i've not seen Shanks do therefore neither the first-mate of Roger's crew...
something is wrong.
@Kaido:
…Did you completely ignore the fact that Katakuri gave everyone earplugs, thus allowing them to not be affected by her scream anymore? You seem to not be comprehending the present-day scene very well.
And why can't Katakuri's pale face have been the result of the scream? Think about it - for a few seconds, Bege's alliance had the entire crew at their knees. Everyone was incapacitated by Big Mom's scream, and Big Mom was this close to getting hit by rockets and dying. Remember that Katakuri's foresight only comes in the SHORT-TERM. He would be able to predict that Bege and Luffy's actions would cause Big Mom to scream, but why would it go so far as to show what Big Mom did in response. We as readers knew that Big Mom wasn't gonna die from this, but for a character in-universe like Katakuri, the prospect of something like this happening is truly terrifying.
Do you ignore the fact that after the second scream you can see Mont D'or and Gallete putting the Mochi earplugs unaffected!?? not a thing that i would discuss, Kaido. Knowing you, you will say: "but they're with their hands over their ears, that's why… Oda's awesome" which would screw Chiffon's explanation of the urge matter that is sustain conscience after a Momma's yell.
I give you this point, it could be Potato's worries fit to be the scream's consequences, a Yonko's underlings must be full of pride and to let this happen, a knife on the stomach.
