Forged a trident out of his staff, brought himself back to life(!), powered the flying arch Maxim and erased angel island with his giant death ball 'raigoh'.
Enel bashers :getlost:
That's all basically channeling lightning into something. Whether the medium is air or metal, Ener is essentially using only the most elementary of his powers.
Anyone besides me feel like Luffy's victory against Enel was forced. I know Luffy supposed to win but like u guys said, at that point, Enel was easily the most powerful character but he was beaten so easily. IMO didn't seem like Luffy had to work hard to win the battle. After all Ener is no slouch in the hand-to-hand department, should've been more to that fight. Oh well, cant wait till thursday to read the spoilers.
I adored that fight because of that. Ener was so powerful and had the God-complex, having some pirate come out of nowhere and beat the snot out of him was delicious. It put his entire existence into perspective, and helped establish how extreme Luffy's victory over Croc was, if Bellamy wasn't enough of a measuring stick for it.
The end of the fight wasn't too cool, though. I hated how Luffy "flew" and his final punch wasn't too impressive. I cannot remember how the manga treated the ending, but the anime had Luffy running down Ener's arm; that was pretty cool.
