If we ever get Beta Ray Bill in the marvel cinematic U, they can just stop after that. They'll have done all they need to do.
Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs

Hela is looking more like a domestic abuse victim than of a goddess that is half-zumbie.
I knew there would tone it down, but goddamit
-
@Count:
Because that is not Thor. He is an alien called Beta Ray Bill, who is also worthy enough to lift Mjolnir (but he got his own unique Urunhammer called Stormbreaker).
I figured it wasn't Thor. I was just wondering why this guy with a horse-head was talking about Asgard, as from my memory there aren't any Norse gods with horse-heads.

Well he isn't asgard at all if it's the question. I think he got the hammer back when Thor needed it to become Thor(30 seconds without it and he turned to Blake). He fought Beta on a ship Beta was guarding and managed to pick the hammer. Odin had them fight a while later and since both were worthy he gave Beta his own hammer while Thor kept his classic one.

Logan
I think the tone of the movie was everything Marvel wish they could have in their serious movies but can't achieve and same thing for DC. It eas serious, had heart, some nice power displays monent and a humor that did not take away from the gravity of the subject. Tone-wise the movie truly was great.
! - THAT GIRL WAS SAVAGE!!!! I know the R rating was so Wolverine could fully be himself but damn it didn't smack me so hard as when X-23 was doing her thing. She looked like a freaking beast. And it never got old for me. That last fight she had with the young Logan was something. So much energy.
! -I like the portrayal of many but I think my favorite was by far Professor X. You can really see how far gone he is and when he is cursing I think it felt natural. I really liked that he was so worn out that he could be a total dick to Logan and continuously trolled him.
! -The little girl was good too especially in her non-speaking phase. I knew that she eventually was going to talk and I liked Logan's reaction to it but I really did not like that she also knew fluent english. I would have preferred if she only spoke spanish with a couple of english world here and there. Or if they kept the speaking for her very last moment fot the Daddy.
! -I think the movie does a great job at showing how important Xavier is to Logan during the movie. Everytime they are in danger, he is his priority. He plans the boat for him and Xavier, he is the one he takes to the car when chased at the begenning, when x-23 is being dragged the first thing he does is run upstairs to check on Xavier.
! -The bitter sweet relation they have and how hard Logan has tried to keep Xavier safe and around makes the moment where he says it's not him all the more poignant. I really liked that moment.
! -Xavier definitely killed some x-man but more importantly he killed a decent amount of people in that incident. Regardless of how many x-men were killed, the life Xavier extinguished should not be a footnote. He was a weapon of mass destruction.
! -I liked that Xavier could still have some control over the whole thing as proven with the horses. I don't thin Logan would have stayed with the family if not for Xavier. As for Xavier the guy has grown to tired and been into to much crap to be the wise old man from the older movies. That last moment when the father tries to shoot Logan really sells how much they fucked up.
! -I appreciated the caban moment because it showed me that those kids had what it takes to survive. Although I think they should have been a little more combative in the forest. I liked that they were the one to take care of that one guy tho.
! - The comics should not have been in this movie. Reaaaally bad idea.
! -I don't know how well Jackman fits Logan (he is kind of tall for the role) but Stewart definitely is Xavier.
! -The X at the end was a really nice touch. It was a really nice movie. Could even say fairly good.
-
Most of the times I forgot Thor has a secret identity as a doctor with a cane.
Also, I don't really like Beta. It is almost like they thought that Thor needed a partner/sidekick so here is an alien for you.

I think he was more of a second Thor than a partner. hey tend to be independent of each other.

@The:
First look cover of Taika Waititi's (What We Do in the Shadows, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Boy) Thor: Ragnarok (showing, from left to right, Hela, (short-haired) Thor, and Valkyrie). Obviously they have (cool) helmets, but for some reason, EW going to continue to EW and not show them off. lol

I really don't like short hair Thor. The hair really sold the nordic theme. Now he is just that guy with an armor.
-
So it seems Thanos' Black Order may be in Infinity War. I'm super excited if that is the case.
-
-
I don't think he should be wearing that jacket in public.
Just saying.

I know, right? The yellow of the jacket clashes too much with the red and blue spandex. The 80's called, Mr. Parker.
-
Maybe it isn't his. Maybe he just jacked it.
-
he probably had a tough mental conversation about the topic
Jacket on, or jacket off. Jacket off… Jacket on... Jacket off.. Jacket off.. -
And then there's those headphones, they are so bulky and out of touch.
-
The jacket and headphones are ugly, but the tone is very Spidey.
-
You know what I really like about Tobey's Spider-Man 2? His apartment. His whole building. It's so crappy. So dirty. And so appropriate for the type of work that he does and the money that he makes.

THIS IS SO GOOD I THOUGHT IT WAS REALLY HIM.

A new Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer is coming tomorrow. Also, new info has been released about the origin story of Vulture.
@vulture.com:
Keeping with Spider-Man: Homecoming’s theme of showing the wall-crawler as a regular teen, his antagonist Vulture will be a regular bad guy. When he’s not donning the Vulture’s wings, Michael Keaton’s Adrian Toomes is a blue-collar guy who runs a salvaging company, according to USA Today. He’s been on cleanup duty in New York to manage the destruction after superhero battles, until an organization founded by Tony Stark takes over his contract. The controversy gives Toomes business beef with Stark, co-producer Eric Hauserman Carroll told USA Today, and Keaton’s character “sort of becomes the dark Tony Stark.” Director Jon Watts said making Adrian Toomes a normal villain without powers or millions of dollars was inspired by John C. Reilly’s Guardians of the Galaxy character. “I like the idea that in these huge movies, you pick out one extra and you’re like, ‘What does he think of all this?’” Watts said. “Sometimes these movies are so casual about just destroying whole cities and incredible things happen and everyone’s like, ‘Eh, whatever.’ If that really happened, it would be amazing and change everything.”
The salvaging-job twist also gives the Vulture a chance to dig through other characters’ post-battle leftovers. “It’s a really great starting point for the villains to have the Vulture picking over the stuff and finding the valuable exotic elements and having the Tinkerer [Michael Chernus] assemble into something that could be used,” Watts said. With a villain with government-contract troubles and no superpowers, finally Spider-Man can address the economic anxieties of the working-class white man.So Vulture is basically a tech-scavenging… vulture. That is actually quite clever. Also, here is the teaser for tomorrow's trailer:
Spider-Tracers are apparently in this. I like how Spidey becomes more tech-savvy like his comic book self with each reboot.
-
Makes you think that's one reason people love Agent Coulson so much. Just the regular SHIELD agent punching in every day.
-
My body was not ready…..I need to clean up. Excuse me.
-
Nice trailer, annoying that just like any other super hero movie(probably others also), they spoil a lot of what will happen in the trailer.
-
So, how many minutes in this movie Shocker will have?
-

The over/under stands at 4 minutes 30 seconds.

Trailer did show a lot, but from what we've seen…
[UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT]
[hide]Maybe we'll finally get a good Spider-Man movie.Disclaimer: Alfred Molina, JK Simmons, Elizabeth Banks and Emma Stone were all wonderful.[/hide]

Quick question for anyone who has seen Logan. Don't give any spoilers, but I've seen every single X-Men movie EXCEPT "The Wolverine".
I've heard it's good, and I've been meaning to check it out, but I just never got around to it.
My boyfriend wants to see Logan tonight. Is it a problem that I haven't seen The Wolverine?

You don't need to see any of the X-Men movies, unless you want to catch some nice easter eggs. You just need to know the general premise of Wolverine and Xavier's characters, how Mutants are discriminated against, as well as know that the X-Men were a superhero team.

There's a grand total of one reference to The Wolverine, and it's quick and almost unnoticeable.

For the most part i thought it felt like an alternate universe type of movie.

For the most part i thought it felt like an alternate universe type of movie.
It actually sort of is. The only way it can really fit into the continuity is if it takes place after Last Stand or that alternate future Logan wound up in at the end of Days of Future Past. It's really contained, and it's all for the better.

That settles the continuity issues then. Now if only it wasn't so predictably sappy at parts.
-
My body was not ready…..I need to clean up. Excuse me.
Now that was an adorable Spidey.
Just wish they didn't spoil so much.
-

! Agreed. I don't see why they basically spoiled what looks to be the climax of the series in Tony taking away Peter's suit and Peter using his old one to fight Vulture. Although there's still plenty we don't know.
-
@Count:
.
Spoiler all that
-
-
I'm not as optimistic as others. I could very be turned off by how hijacked the movie feels due to the ammount of presence those from other movie gets and the school banter involving Peter's from the last trailer does not give me great interest in the school setting. I do however enjoying the heroing and the villain has some nice presence in my opinion. Even if he ends up being a one off I might actually enjoy the character. It would be a first for a marvel villain.

It's straight-up in the trailer though. But okay.
Some people skip trailers before the movie and you describe what you think is the climax.

Then maybe they shouldn't check out threads dedicated to the movie they do not want too much info about? I understand hiding spoilers about a new trailer for a few days though.
-
Wait was that the Shocker in there? If so holy shit balls!

I'm pretty sure the thread is about the movies not the trailers. The trailer spoils part of the movie so it is spoilers. Even when the movie does come out the reviews are also spoilered for a long time. So a important details about the trailer which comes before should.

Must be hard to have ones experience of a film be so determined by spoilers. Especially in the internet age.
Me i'm the complete opposite, i'm barely interested in a film until i get some meat on the bones.

I can always count on you to preach some creative truth, Woody. Spoilers are even how I get interested in series like One Piece (not that I approve of visible off-topic spoilers).

This thread illustrates the concept perfectly. I looked at it, saw that they were making another spidey film and was all kinds of meh. But upon seeing this little trailer i realized that the greatest spiderman villain of all-time finally gets a bit-part in this. This made me about 170% more likely to go see this one.
I will deduct points for not bald vulture in a songbird suit. But atleast it's a quality actor

I hope it does not mean another reboot. There's way too many reboot of Spidey.

The cleverness and simplicity of the fighter pilot bomber jacket, pilot helmet, and glowing green eyes makes it up for me. And the fact that we get to keep the Michael Keaton flying creature casting running gag going.
-

And we complain that Warner Bros are the biggest fucking idiots in making superhero movies.

But of course. He's been my fave since i saw spiderman TAS as a kid.

Without a superficial wiki page on Robin and Franky I wouldn't had read one piece. Maybe Brook who could have pulled me by his existence alone.

Well…there goes my dream of seeing Norman Osborne and the Thunderbolts as part of the MCU :/
(No seriously Sony, why the eff are you guys so dumb?)

Distancing themselves of the plot already done twice?
