Full trailer just dropped. Looks pretty fun and a bit of a new take on the ol' origin story.
I want to belieeeeeeeeeeve
I mean, they've got RDJ and there doesn't seem to be the usual origin beats. I want to get hyped. But I can't take anymore "well this didn't so good, let's reboot again!"
But dang it, I'm seeing it.

Marvel confirmed that they're skipping the origin story since everybody knows it. At most, the movie will pull a brief one-two minute recap and flashback akin to the first episodes of The Spectacular Spider-Man and The Ultimate Spider-Man cartoons.

You know comics better than I do, so I'll ask - what's more accurate to Spidey's origin, making the tech in the Raimi movies or finding his parents' research/tech in the Webb movies?
Also are they going Mary Jane or Gwen?

Peter didn't make any tech in the Raimi movies lol. Maguire Spidey only made the suit and had organic webbing. Meanwhile, Garfield Spidey was actually a science prodigy like comic book Peter and constructed web fluid mechanical web-shooters, and Holland Spidey is doing the same. The finding parent's research/tech bit though? That is taking inspiration from the Ultimate Universe, where Peter Parker's parents were researchers. In the Ultimate comics, Parker's parents worked with Eddie Brock's parents and artificially made the Venom Symbiote (instead of it being an alien) as an attempt to cure cancer. The Venom Symbiote was originally planned to appear as a cameo at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (and I believe it was in a trailer) in a string of adjacent lab rooms with Doc Ock's tentacles, Vulture's wings, and Rhino's suit, but it got cut.
They're going Mary Jane. MJ is the black chick you see Peter and Ganke gawking over as well as who Peter seems to be calling on a cell phone in the trailer.

Lol organic webbing, I totally forgot. thanks for the explanation!

Oh cool.
I bet lots of people would watch this because of the Bank Robbery scene alone, lol.

No one mocks the Shocker.
How cute of Tony to come up with a lame excuse just to keep his cool while hugging him.

Actually, wait. That actress I pointed out is Liz Allen. My bad. XD And it seems that Zendaya confirmed that she's not playing Mary Jane like a bunch of rumors and supposed leaks suggested. Her character is called Michelle. Of course, this could just be a clever ruse and her nickname acronym if "M.J.".
However, I believe that MJ is confirmed to be a role in the movie. They're just keeping the actress a secret for some reason, as I believe she will appear at the end of the film as a surprise.

Oh yeah, I forgot Shocker is in this thing.
That Bleach panel is kind of racist.

But Shocker isn't racist. He loves any kind of race.
!
! Seriously though, humans in general having their eyes vulnerable to getting burned and blinded by bleach is not racist lol. By that logic, having Cage get shot is racist because of all the cop controversy nowadays.
Like I said. No one mocks the Shocker.
@Count:
Also, Peter's wall-clinging is supposed to be due to electromagnetic forces in the comics.
…..I know we kinda laughed about the crazy shit comic writers came up with regards to things like their
characters abilities and shit. But what was Stan Lee or whoever came up with this putting into their system
when they did this?
Birdman 4 looks amazing.

I actually think that making use of electromagnetism to cling is pretty cool and creative than having claws or weird adhesive properties. If you want to see something that really questions Stan's mindset while writing Spider-Man, it would be making an "anti-magnetic inverter" in one day after getting beaten by the Vulture in their first encounter. In his room. While being a high school student. On a freelance photographer salary.
!
It has no chance of happening today, but imagine that's how Parker beats Toomes in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

It gets even better.

This is why you don't mock Spider-Man's arch-enemy.
Can we just give Tom Holland the best live-action spiderman ever award? The dude is absolutely nailing the role.

He has to compete with Japanese Spider-man and that's a contest he couldn't possibly win.
I hope Leopardon's redesign is good in the new Spider-man
A classic feature of the series needs a design that does it the right justice
I hope he doesn't have the muffled voice in every scene he's in costume. (I haven't seen Civil War since it was in theaters, did he have the muffled voice then?)
@Count:
That's pretty much what I meant to say lol.
Derp! My bad.
@Count:
Is Peter's pudgy friend in this movie Ganke?
I thought so at first but the comic con panel said that's Ned Leeds, the guy who becomes the second Hobgoblin.
@Mr.:

I noticed that too. I don't remember him having it in Civil War. Maybe the editing isn't finished yet.
Derp! My bad.
No problem.

Um… Okay. I guess I can get along with that lol.

It will be announced that "Spider-man: Homecoming" is actually about Spider-man coming back to Japan due to the immense success of Japanese Spider-man

I'm hoping they have Aunt May mentioning to take her friend's niece to the homecoming dance throughout the movie with Peter avoiding the subject, until the end where we get the famous "hit the jackpot" line.

You mean like in The Spectacular Spider-Man? I wouldn't mind that at all lol.

Exactly.
Honestly, they could do a word-for-word adaptation of Spectacular Spider-Man and it would fit like a glove with Tom Holland and the MCU

You're not wrong in the slightest. Except they actually have the ability to use Kingpin instead of Tombstone (although I doubt we'll ever see D'Onofrio in the movies as Fisk). However, they're probably not going to use Gobby for the first trilogy due to the reboots burning him out in the public eye. I wouldn't even be surprised if they adapted some Green Goblin story lines, but had Hobgoblin do them instead. In fact, that's kind of did the opposite of that in Spectacular Spider-Man, with Norman faking his death being pulled from how Hobgoblin often fakes his death or frames others in his place like Norman did with Harry. And they're not going to have Gwen either.
I wonder how many films it will take to get Peter in college. It'll probably be three.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Spider-Man Homecoming sequel confirmed for July 5, 2019.
Should have been Laura instead of Logan.
Logan might had still paid for those.
Unless he wants to be a bad parent figure.
Should have been Laura instead of Logan.
Don't worry they could always pull a Elektra and give her a spin-off movie no one will like.
I adore that we now basically have confirmation that she is Laura. However, I kind of hate how we have this 'doomsday' set up where majority of the X-Men are dead, cause it means we won't have Laura being raised by Gambit or Laura hanging out with vampire Jubilee.
I have no idea who Laura is supposed to be. Is she not X23?
It really, reeeally looks like they might have finally nailed it. It may not be much of an Xmen movie perse, but looks like it might just be a solid movie in its own right.
This might just be the first X-men film I see in theaters since the second one.
I have no idea who Laura is supposed to be. Is she not X23?
She is. But the name she decides for herself is Laura Kinney. It makes sense for her to not want her clone model number being her sole designation lol.
Sorry, yeah. Laura Kinney is X-23's real name that she gave herself.
Hee hee.
I am so hyped for Guardians!!
It also raises a whole bunch of interesting questions!
Spoilering this for anyone who isn't watching the trailers or anything. If you wanna go in blind, don't click.
For everyone else, I'm only mentioning stuff in the new trailer.
! Yondu I expected, Mantis too… but Nebula?!?! She's on the team now?!?!
! Who what when why how?!?!
!
Ok, this is every so slightly more spoilery now as I'll be talking about stuff that happens in the Infinity Gauntlet comic that will most likely form the base of Avengers: Infinity War.
! Is this Infinity War setup?!?! In the comics, Thanos gets very unhappy with Nebula and one thing that's happening constantly in the background during the Infinity Gauntlet storyline was him using the gauntlet to torture her. He severely deformed her, tortured her, killed her and brought her back, then repeated… Is this setting that up? Her working with the Guardians could be because she's rejecting him? I know he him self won't be in the movie, James Gunn has insisted that repeatedly, but they can at least mention that she went against him and he's not happy.
! This is important because in the comics, Nebula is actually the one who stops Thanos. Because he'd deformed and crippled her and she was basically just a broken mess on the ground, he stops paying attention to her when the heroes attack him since he assumes there's no way she can be a threat, so she sneaks up behind him, slips the gauntlet off him and takes it. She then uses it to undo most of the damage he did.
! She does almost go mad with power and tries to use it to become a threat in her own right, but luckily unlike Thanos, she didn't know how to use it and was kinda just learning as she went, so the remaining heroes were able to take her down fairly easily.
! I wonder if they're trying to put Nebula into a position where they can set this up.
As long as the Infinity Gauntlet gets that scene with Cap in there, we'll be good. Everything else is gravy.
Am I missing something here?
GET HYPED
Is the guy at the middle Holland?

GET HYPED
Are we sure he didn't just walk over from the Spiderman Homecoming set?
Are we sure he didn't just walk over from the Spiderman Homecoming set?
Nope, they said in the video, it happening!
So I was wondering, since the first movie is gonna have Thanos going shit crazy to get the Infinity Stones, does this mean The Vision is gonna get his shit wrecked?? He's some sort of combination between Jarvis and the Mind Stone right? if he gets the Mind Stone ripped off of him, will he still exist? will only loose his powers? I'm curious about this because the death of Vision could mean the 'born' of Adam Warlock, whom I've seen no news about his presence in the MCU at all :/

Sounds like a good movie.
I'm so glad. Amazed and glad.
I always tire when people say "Let Marvel have the rights back!"
Puh-lease, they don't have room for these types of oddball films.
I didn't realize people still wanted Marvel to have the rights to the X-Men…
Fantastic 4 on the other hand still needs to be in the hands of Marvel.

Guardians Of The Galaxy and Doctor Strange are pretty darn chintzy when compared to everything else they produced.

Well yeah. Fox has had the franchise for 20 years and between X2, First Class, and apparently Logan, it's done 3 good films, and quite a few bad ones that feel samey. (The first X-Men was great for the time sheerly for seeing the characters on screen but did NOT age well at all.)
Also if you reeeally count Deadpool as an X-Men film, that makes it 4/10.
That aside, its less that people want/need Marvel to make the films (they really don't have the schedule for it) its that they want some of the characters to be able to interact with the others. Wolverine especially I'd imagine, though with Hugh retiring the role… it would also spare them this nonsense of trying to make the Inhumans the new X-Men, in both the movies and the comics.
And Fantastic Four they desperately want so they can get Doom and Galactus and SIlver Surfer back, more than anything major fromt he FF themselves.
