! Still, the idea that Cersei could get walkerized and still rule Westeros is interesting.

! She's indoors, though. I know Westeros doesn't have modern heating technology, but the throne room should be warmer than that.

John Snow probably has the comfiest chair.
-
My hopes for the season:
- All characters related to Dorne die.
That's all.
-
After an earthquake Dorne just breaks off and floats away.
-
About Dorne, let's be real:
[hide]Dorne will be the biggest victim of Cersei's wrath as queen. I wouldn't be shocked if episode one consists of her catapulting wildfire at Dorne, killing the entire Sand Snakes, Ellaria, and thousands of innocent lives.
And I. Can't. Wait.[/hide]

Never thought I would root for Cersei on anything, but, well…

Not even when she did what she did in the last season finale?
-
Seriously I'm mostly interested in John Snow at this point. He is the only one in a position of power that seems to be giving a damn about the coming zombies.
! And about Danny
Considering the forces that she has and the damage suffered by anyone in the seven kingdom there is no reason that taking the throne should for her. And if she gets her throne early(doubt it will happen) maybe we could concentrate on those damn zombies.
! I hated how they Arya the plotline of Arya with the faceless men but I do think it will be cathartic to see her finally see her family. There's no way she is not getting news of the new king of the North. -
Not even when she did what she did in the last season finale?
I remember I was watching that finale with my dad and my friend, and was literally yelling at the TV screen, "Dammit, Cersei, why do you always get your way?!" while they laughed at me.
-
Cersei is gonna do the deed and watch like…

Trailer out!
Littlefinger is looking so ominous, I love it. I sincerely hope they didn't spend all their CGI money on the dragons. I want to see Ghost again …
-
I really have a hard time getting invested in the iron thrones considering how one-sided things should be for Dany and how silly it is when zombies are coming for them. Any conflict between Sansa and John would be kind of stupid. I hope she does not get manipulated by Littlefinger again.
-
if a dragon would be turned into a zombie, would it spit ice?

On the contrary, I think watching Daenerys steamroll Cersei's armies will be beautiful and karmic as hell. And I expect her and the rest of the lords to rally against the white walkers once King's Landing has fallen.

Looks like the leaks are true after all.

Benjen is the lone wolf, who will rescue Jon Snow from certain death, Snow takes his horse and rides off at the end. The pack ( stark kids) survives thanks to Benjen.
You heard it here first folks.

Well, I guess this definitely makes Arya a serial killer.
Also, why does Euron looks like a biker? has the body language of a cocky biker and wears modern clothes?
I liked the scene with Arya and the Lannister soldiers. And I was surprised btw all middle-aged soldiers didn't turn out to be rapists. damn.
Good episode. Happy it's back after all this time. Just didn't understand the thing with the hand at the end. Who's hand was it?
teaser ep2
!
-
Euron's hawt though.
I enjoyed this episode. I had kind of forgotten that this series is still pretty good.
-
I was bummed that there are only 7 episodes, but the series does have a tendency to have pointless scenes (Tyrion drinking with Greyworm and Melissandre last season), and this episode moved things along, and that's great. Good episode.
Everyone looks so much better with beards.

Oh, I'm so happy they didn't go the rapist route too. The point of that scene, I think, was for Arya to see that it doesn't matter what house you belong to. You are just a soldier with a family doing your duty. The real war is between the lords.
Just didn't understand the thing with the hand at the end. Who's hand was it?
! That would be Jorah Mormont

They are just gonna skip the pointless things imo. They've already been skipping the pointless sexual stuff since season 4 or 5. Remember years ago when everyone was saying that 1episode=sex+someone beheaded?
I think all episodes are gonna have very good pacing now.
-
Indeed. This one already moved things along pretty well, and it sounds like future episodes of the season will be even faster. (Also, the episodes in general are several minutes longer, 63 minutes on average, with the final two being especially long.)
That was a great choice for an opening scene; I was smiling, cheering, and even more hyped up for the episode afterward.
Actually, both Arya scenes this episode were great. The Lannister soldier scene was one of those that doesn't leave huge plot impact, but has a more subtle effect. It's easy for both Arya and the audience to assume Lannister = evil and Stark = good, but as we saw both here and in some past episodes, morality is rarely so simple, and as Arya becomes more and more bloodthirsty, it's important that she has moments like those so she can still remember that.
On a similar note, another great scene for me this episode was
! the stuff with the Hound and that farmer family that he randomly stole from back in Season 4. Who would have thought that that random filler scene from back then would actually come back as a nice way to show some character development?
! I also got a chuckle out of Euron's antics with Cersei…and all that stuff he said with Jaime literally right there. Jaime's facial expressions were hilarious.
! Speaking of Jaime, I'm glad he's finally showing some disgust and horror with Cersei, but it looks like he's still loyal to her. I hope that changes soon. I'm not the type to complain about everything that's different from the books, and in fact there are many changes that I prefer, but I think the one change that does frustrate me quite a bit is the fact that Jaime is still together/in love with Cersei on the show, instead of ditching her and getting even more great development like he did in the novels. In Seasons 3 and 4, when he had started to get that development, I actually liked him better than the book version, since he was openly nicer during that time, but sadly, after he decided to stick with Cersei, that's switched back.I'll admit the jump scare near the end totally got me, haha. And I liked how impactful that final scene was. Normally I'd expect to be disappointed when four main characters (including three of my favorites) are billed for the ep, only for one of them to just get one line and the other three to not even speak at all, but with the way it was shot, with their wordless reactions and all the amazing scenery, I liked it better that way. Words weren't needed to convey their feelings.
Great way to start the season, can't wait for next week!
-
A good beginning to that episode.
I love that that Wildling is still very much into Breanne lol.
I can imagine the main reason that group of soldiers weren't horrible rapists is because Ed Sheeran was among them. Lol. He's way too wholesome to attach an atrocity to lol.
-
I thought it was a solid episode too, though still all setup. We have what, another 12 episodes to conclude EVERYTHING? Every single of the 10+ major plotlines? I mean sure I get that a lot of them are probably going to converge but I suspect we won't get much of what feels like satisfying closure on a lot of the long-standing efforts of various characters/factions. Not to mention the series-long looming menace of the Walkers, which I feel could be an entire season by itself.
-
I think the scene with the Lannisters just means that we won't get bloodbaths such as the House Frey poisoning in this episode anymore. Or at least, Arya will think twice before killing "innocent" soldiers (and whatnot).
-
Sansa keeps being a dumb cunt, as per usual…

I mean, to be fair, I thought she at least had a point about rewarding loyalty, though I still agree with Jon's decision here. Maybe he should have discussed his decision with her ahead of time, but her challenging him in front of everyone was definitely a no-no.
-
A good episode, but very much a set up for the next six.
-
Sansa has a point with the stupid choices that led Ned and Robb to their death but yeah, she ain't THE KING IN THE NORTH !!!! So quiet during the meeting please.
Who are the two little red-heads who are pledging allegiance to Jon btw? Do we know them ? Do we know other characters of their House?

Yeah we know characters of there houses… all dead... (Houses Umber and Karstark)
Yeah Robb and Ned made big political mistakes, but Jon is right f*** it... what is he caring about that shit if there is the Walking dead ploting to take the Game of thrones...
-

The daughter of the Karstark family and the son of the Umber family, i.e. the two big families in the North who sided with Ramsay.
Basically, back when Robb was still KitN, Rickard Karstark killed some Lannister hostages in revenge for his dead sons and Robb executed him for it, which got the Karstarks to withdraw their support from him back then. Last season, his son Harald Karstark decided to support Ramsay because they were still mad at the Starks. The girl who pledged allegiance to Jon, Alys Karstark, is his daughter.
For the Umbers, Greatjon Umber was the one who got his fingers bitten off by Grey Wind (Robb's direwolf) in Season 1, and his son, Smalljon Umber, was the one who brought Rickon, Osha, and Shaggydog's head to Ramsay last season, choosing to betray the Starks because of Jon letting the wildlings through the Wall. The little boy who pledged to Jon, Ned Umber, is his son.

The House Frey people weren't innocent, she mentions (as Walder) that they're the whole gang who participated in the Red Wedding. The higher ups, probably mostly his sons.
-
i liked the arya (as long as one wolf lives, the sheep will never be safe)and most of the hound parts. not a lot of stuff happened though, just moving around pieces. the part about tyrion and the gang setting food on dragonstone was a bit wierd, as i would have believed ther to be combat. seemingly everyone new they were gonna land there. why not set up defense. and for the gang to just enter with only two geards seems highly irresponsible

Definetly. She was released in the Riverlands. So it would only make sense to reincorporate her now that Arya is travelling through.

What if Arya encounters Nymeria while in Manyfaced form and is forced to kill her? The smell of blood could easily mask her normal scent.

That would be sooo cool. But on the other hand, I think I've had enough of these poor wolves dying :/.
-
The new episode set up the new season pretty nicely.
It also reaffirmed how I feel about the series at this point.
The Hound is awesome and I want Sansa to die painfully on-screen.

Yes you will want the episode she appears in?

Why that episode specifically?
I think he's referring to the leaks. Which kind of makes it a spoiler. right? And even if it doesn't, I guess some just don't want to hear about them (including me).

Well alright then. Didn't expect that response but I'll take it.

A pretty nice episode.
This episode made me realize that there is quite a number of Starks left. Actually there is more relevant Starks than Lannisters.
I never felt to bad for what happened to Rob due to why the Frey betrayed him. And Arya becoming blind was a time wasting plot. However the destruction of the Frey was some good datharsis for her. She has been trying to pay back people for a long time. The Lannister soldiers was a good reminder that those she want to destroy aren't always going to be monsters. I was kind of expecting her to her at some point. I am still not crossing it out. I hope she gets news of Jon being in Winterfell soon. I really want her to meet with her remaining family.
I hope we don't spend to much time on Cersei. Tywin might have proven to be able to sailen a sunking ship but Cersei has been pretty shitty at handling anything. The only reason she is around is that she was so high above that it took her some time to fall. She can't go to the North considering how much of a pain it would be and Danny has basically every decent family in the sunny side. Every logical path lead to a quick destruction of her remaining strength and anything would be infuriating padding. At least Jaimie seems to not be delusional about their position.
I got to say I agreed with Sansa at the meeting. I am not saying kill the kids but give the casttle to the ones that fought for you. But Jon has always been pretty bad at seing how people would react to his decision and seems genuinely unable to connect the dots between the choices he makes and the way people feel. Ned is probably the only one that knew how to make the whole good guy honor work as a leader. I am however happy that him and Sansa are actually talking rather than backstabbing each other. They are not seing eye to eye but at the same time they are both trying to stick together. Sansa not giving Peter time was also good and needs to keep u[ for the rest of the season. She better not turn later I wouldn't want to spend the season being annoyed.
Considering how long Danny has taken to get to Westeros I would expect to be rolling my eyes at a pit stop but I actually enjoyed the arrival at Dragonstone. That throne is way more awesome than the one in Westeros and I find the castle fitting of the Dragon Queen. I also appreciate Tyrion(the hand) being the only one allowed to follow her until the end. It cements the special position he has in Danny's circle. If they don't drag the arrival this Danny plot might be one of the most enjoyable in this season.
The montage with Sam reminded me of better call Saul.
I am surprise that the guy in the cell is already there.

I read an article about it that it is not since it looks nothing like it, and compared to the ones of the other Starks, looked pretty small, but that´s hardly an issue.

There has been a pretty crafty foreshadowing on what will happen to Cersei. I mean, it was obvious before really but this sealed the deal really.
There is no sense of time in this show, you never know when a scene actually plays out.
Last season, Euron was seen telling them to build ships, now they have thousands of ships, just like that.
Yet Cersei and Jaime have not once talked about their current situation or the children or whatever.
