Guys, guys. Isn't it obvious? Ichigo's Quincy title would be "The Bleach". It's fitting, given what he did this chapter.
Bleach Discussion █: Soul Society, but not!

My personal nomination would be "The Blank" in reference to his character, his expression, and his panels.
-
Hollow Kitty xddd fuckin' mofos, you really lol'd me.
It was a very Bleach-y chapter, it began the power demonstration cycle and on Ishida's side, a cliffhanger of help is needed. I pressume, this the full state of shikai from Ichigo.
-
I so hope it ends this year. And bleach doesnt have a big draw anymore giving us more hope that it will be buried for good once done with no spin offs, movies etc. xD

the only draw left is checking the box of seeing the series to completion.
-
You know what? I'm really glad I read bleach. Not because it's good, or rather good any more. No, it's because when I finally get around to the writing I've been putting off, I won't make the same mistakes as kubo.
-
If Ichigo is part Quincy, does he get the right to a pretentious, stupid name?
I want him to be called "The Everything". Or "The Pastiche". Or "The Trying Too Hard".
Ichigo's "The Nothing" because Bleach just won't end.
-
Ichigo is The W, that stands for Wumbo.
-
Ichigo is the M, for manbearpig.
-
_I_chigo is the H,for the Heart.
(Someone had to say it,don't judge) -
Ichigo is the I, for "The Ichigo"
-
@Daz:
Ichigo can be the Space. Because air.
Or "The One"

(Someone had to say it,don't judge)Alright alright, the bets have been placed. I'm gonna go with The Anything, where Kubo tries to insert some kind of race unity statement.
-
The Kitchen Sink is another solid option.
-
Ichigo is the "", for "the ".
As there just isn't any kind of letter in our world which gets his specialness even remotely.
-
Ichigo will be revealed to be 'Alpha' when Bach suddenly summons 25 other mooks all based on the NATO phonetic alphabet extending the war and series for another 3 years

Now I'm imagining Ichigo standing in front of Blue,Charlie,Echo and Delta trying to calm them down.

Man, looking at early Bleach art is jarring.

Hitsugaya looked like shit.

I think it's time we bring out the evolution charts!

That's some pretty big change. While later stuff looks more refined, I have to say all things considered the earlier looks are much better. Without context they emote some kind of character, whereas the later ones just look like a bunch of faces with no emotions behind them. Even with context later faces still have no emotion in them. The biggest loss from the second picture I would say is Ichigo, Orohime, and Renji.
-
Imo early Ichigo, Hitsugaya, Momo, and Uryu looked great, while early Byakuya, Chad, Yumichika, and Orihime looked rough as all hell.
-
IDK, early Orohime I really like for some reason. It might be more that I associate that look back when she was an actual character and showed potential, instead of being a parrot. Chad definitely looks better, which sucks because as bad ass as he looks he's hugging the floor way too much. Agree with the rest, especially Momo.
Sigh, it depresses me knowing how great all these characters started off as and the potential they held, and then what they became is nothing.
-
No, I definitely agree, the art was a little more rugged in some places but you can feel the characters being, y'know…different. Instead of:

This is shopped. I hope you know that.

Wow. That is just, wow. While I am glad kubo's art has become more refined and less crude, it just looks like the characters are posing for a photo op now instead of actually being in a story. I get that an artist's style evolves as they become more experienced, but I don't think I've ever seen an artist lose emotion.
-
http://readms.com/r/fairy_tail/487/3437/1 That was quite disappointing, Bradman. I expected more from you.
-
Gosh it's not over yet??? What was I expecting?
I would have loved more focus on the Ishida fight than whatever else is happening.
Ichigo looks cool but geez so expected! I bet his final attach will be xxx Getsuga Tenshou GOD! roll eyes
Why am I still following this series?
-

I didn't…But I'm glad Gajeel actually said outloud his feelings for Levi. We got hints but it's nice to see it stated. Best couple in the series.
-
I actually liked this chapter. Sure, like many of the others another Spriggan gets taken down overall with ease, but Gajeel has always been a favorite of mine and his transformation, while brief, was pretty cool. I don't expect Gajeel or Levi to die from this, but I always liked the pair the most so I actually feel a little tension in this compared to others. So this will probably be the best part of this entire war.
Also, I'm confused but is August super strong and out of this world? The characters are being way too subtle and I don't know what they think of him, if only they said out loud a few times what they thought of August, I might understand what kind of threat he is.
-
I liked the Gajeel/Levi part of the chapter. Though, Levi's magic is incredibly broken. Couldn't she just do a full body armor instead of just masked her mouth? Or she could create some air purification system or whatever. If only she had a properly written fight which uses her full potential.
About the first part, let's just pretend that anybody, anybody at all has some kind of emotional connection to God Serena as if he were an actual character instead of being a mere hype tool.
And I wonder will we ever learn WHY the bond of August and the others to Zeref is so deep? Like showing us any reasoning and motivation of August. Spoiler: Probably nope.

I have to reread the chapter to search for any subtle hints for your assumption. Sounds rather baseless to me if you ask me. And rather farfetched. Hiopefully the next chapters will clarify it a little bit better whether August is super strong and possibly in a whole another league. Right now we can only speculate.
-
Number of panels August's strength is getting praised > number of panels August actually fights and is defeated

Alas I only assumed that one would negotiate with a person they feel is very strong instead of beating him up. I must say though because of the masterful writing I was not expecting August to shoot down Brandish that quickly. I would think that a chapter would go by of negotiations and at the last minute August would say no. Instead Mashima masterfully skips the entire thing and gets to the point, but I just don't know if he is really supposed to be a threat. Hopefully soon we know if he is weak sauce or is supposed to be a bad ass like the Scarlett lady.
Serena was so one note that I forgot about him until it was mentioned this chapter, and unless mentioned again I will forget about him after this chapter.
-
Bradman was a big letdown, basically a Torafusa ripoff.
Gajeel rocked well the Saiyan hair.

She will most get attacked then gildarts will come in to save the girl hopefully he will come instead of giving natsu another pointless win lol.

Credit where it is due. This is a great Fairy Tail chapter as far as they go, simply because it decides to focus on the two characters who have actually developed as people throughout the entire story. Gajeel and Levy are far more interesting then the rest of the cast, and Levy doesn't need Double D breasts to be a cool character. Fucking Lucy…
-
Gajeel would work as the main protagonist tbh.

I know. I wish he got a spinoff. I like Gray most of the time but I didn't really care for his spinoff flashback story.
-
Im sorry, but no amount of love pairing can somehow overtake the obvious shit this chapter was. And especially Gajeel. Like his fights have been the absolute worse for a long time.
Fight with Rogue? Absorb his power and win.
Fight with Torafusa? Absorb his power and win.
Fight with Bradman? Absorb his power and win.Gajeel is literally the shittiest character to have any fight scenes with. Most predictable damn thing in existence. Can't win on his own, and only have a chance by absorbing things he clearly should not be able to absorb. I mean seriously, the reasoning of "Oh well my magic particles has the slightest amount of insert X therefore you can absorb" could be applied to basically any single enemy attack. "Oh well your attack has 0.0000001% of this therefore" nonsense.
Can't believe I would rather watch Natsu and Erza than Gajeel.
Not only that, but any fucking dragonslayer could have done the same thing too. If Natsu was here he would be now even more OP than he already is.
So sick and tired of villains being these god damn glass cannons. Fairy Tail can always tank multiple attacks, but as soon as the villain (Who are supposed to be WAAAAAAAAAY stronger magical wise) takes 1 god damn hit, hes done for. And no I don't want to hear that Bradman was invulnerable therefore he never had a need to boost his DEF, when this clearly happens to every other villain
And guess what? HE WAS ONE OF THE STRONGEST 6!!! Remember how the final 6 are WAAAAAAAAAAAY stronger than the meager first 6? Well lookie here. You can clearly see the difference right? RIGHT!?!?
Jesus Christ. The assassin guy was more impressive than this worthless shit. All the powers of the 9 demon gates but NOPE! Absolutely nothing when compared to Fairy Tail, ESPECIALLY when waifus are at stake.
! The cover page was nice and thick though

Pretty much all the characters do the same thing to win a battle, whether it's go dragon slayer or a new armor or what have you. The main reasons I liked the chapter and can overlook the problems like most fights do is because the two character are ones I like and their characters and relationship are the only good things to have come out of this series. If most other characters did it I would not like it, but I give Gajeel a pass because I like him, and it just works for me. It definitely could be much better done, but in a vanilla series like this I'll take something that goes beyond bad/mediocre.
-
I think any of the dragon slayer fights are typically boring. Actually everyone in Fairy Tail does the same thing. They get on the ropes remember who they are fighting for. 1 hit KO. It's not really wavered in forumla from what I can remember. But I'd much rather have screen time with Gajeel than Natsu who's a fight hog anyways. And in general a cruddy character. Natsu meeting the supposed strongest is going to be dreadful. He's already destroyed a actual god in 1 hit. What else is there to worry about him not overcoming?
-
I like Gajeel but I hate Levy and the forced GajeelxLevy storyline so this chapter wasn't saved for me. Gajeel's dragon force is underwhelming. Bradman is a shitty rehash of Tartaros. The fight was lackluster. Brandish's plan was stupid. The constant hyping of August's power is annoying.
-
I liked Gajeel in the beginning too, but sadly after Natsu threw him away during GMG, it went all downhill from there (Hell, probably even before then, like when he fought the fodder of Grimoire Heart), but as soon as this 3rd fight of his in a row ended with "Absorb enemy power -> win 1 shot" I couldn't take it.
He literally has the most predictable fights in this entire series. Mashima did the same EXACT thing 3 times in a row. Not even Erza or Natsu can be criticized in that way
-
Didn't Gajeel crucify Levi once, or something
-
I want Ichigo to pull a Bloodborne and turn into a strawberry/sperm/squid.
Because this bullshit manga needs an equally bullshit end -
August is utterly, terrifyingly boring for someone who's verbally hyped every fucking time his name is mentioned. Like a piece of bread that's been buttered so thickly, only waiting to fall on the floor and make a dirty, inedible greasy mess that you'll have no choice but throw away and forget.
I don't know about you guys, but I can't feel the weight of Gazel's inner rambling about being weak, pathetic and whatnot because he's never any of that to me. Did Mashima mistake Gazel with Sting by accident or something?
The fight didn't do any favor either. He ingested "iron" that is barely there, mixed with the anti-magic dust, activates his dragon force and match his properties with Breadman's, bypassing the latter's supposedly intangible form…
What?
-
googles Ah, Gajeel is the rugged guy with the….face do-dads. Always seen but could never place a name to the face. And Levy is....some girl I don't really recognize. Who was the white-haired girl again? Mirajane? Kana?
I think I've only read volume 1 of Fairy Tail lol
-
Eww I'm learning about Fairy Tail by coming to this thread >_>

[emoji23] it's so sad lol.. your statement made me laugh so loud on various levels and meanings. Oh dear me, bleach. Ahaha
-
The fact that "Gajeel" exists in my brain and I've learned that "Levi" is not a captain in some alternate shitty universe is just plain wrong. I don't want any more.
Curse you, Robby!
