Oh hey, Eisaku Inoue's on the animator list. Hi Inoue!
I just want to see Fujitora's "cool moves!"
One Piece Episode 744 Preview
One Piece Film: Gold - TV Spot 3
Otsuka did the storyboard (!!!) and the episode director was Koyama indeed. Much better than the Koyama SB & Otsuka ED combination. The anime magazines made a mistake before.
And what made me today was that we can see the switching between Inoue's style and Deguchi's style easily by our eyes lol.
I wonder if Inoue will become a supervisor again now that he's back.
Haven't watched the episode yet, but just wanna say that the titlecard is amazing
Fujitora's attack at the end was beautifully done. Gravity is the result of curvature of space and they show it here. Good episode !!
Can't watch the episode for a while, did they do anything with Law and Sengoku? Because I didn't see them in the previews for 743 or 744
If not that cliffhanger at the end of 742 was so poorly placed it's laughable
The execution of Raging Tiger was very cool and trippy. And even though they tried to hide it with the inverted colors, they re-used some Shida animation, probably from the Hody Jones kick cut.
Great episode, really enjoyed it.
They skipped some things that luffy say in the manga, I wonder if they are gonna cover it next week.
Wow, what a great episode. Otsuka and Koyama rock.
Also nice seeing Inoue back to the franchise after World Trigger. Hopefully he'll stick around.

It continues where the previous episode left off. So you get the rest of the conversation.
What a awesome episode it was towards the end. The fight of Luffy vs Fujitora was very nicely done, Watching in Anime just reminds me and reinforces that Fujitora is a monster and up there with Akainu,Kizaru and the rest of the Admirals with his crazy gravity manipulating powers.
Makes you wonder where they found this guy and what has he been doing all these years to become so strong.
I'm so happy Inoue's returned
Oh, so Inoue is doing key animation for One Piece now? Awesome, I've really warmed up to his art style and I hope he comes back to being an animation supervisor. Can someone please point out the Inoue cuts? I didn't notice them.
OMG, that Luffy vs Fujitora fight was amazing and very well animated at some parts, especially that Raging Tiger attack that Fuji did at the end! :D
Anime did a great job reminding you why Fujitora is a monster.
Raging Tiger!!

That's what I want to know too. It's amazing he was fighting like that while still holding all the rubble up in the air.
Man, dare I say this, this episode was better than the manga material it covered. It truly showed how fearsome Fujitora and his power are, and also gave us a good look at Luffy's power comparison to an admiral. While in the manga it was a more rushed affair, not really giving much attention to Fujitora and allowing him to display any of his real power.
I will admit though that the extension of the fight did make Luffy announcing his moves really grating after a while. Also I was not expecting that acid trip at the end.
Also, "Is it the work of a god? Or some mysterious birds??" I love you Gatz.
So this is what a really good storyboard can do to an episode, please stick with One piece Otsuka
What a great episode. I felt like I was tripping balls when Fuji did Gravity Blade: Raging Tiger. Really put into perspective how powerful that move is. I agree that this is one of the few times that the scenes were better in the anime than in the manga, especially showing the sheer amount of rubble in the air Fuji was controlling. His Grav-Grav fruit or whatever it is is amazing but OP as hell. I dig it though and he has a great personality to go with it.

Otsuka is nothing special, there are several director and storyboarders on rotaton far better then him.
Yes, the man who's brought us some of the most well-animated and energetic efforts outside of Naoki Tate episodes is "nothing special".
Anyway, fun episode, and just like 661 it drives home the importance of a good storyboard. Luffy's concern for Fujitora is pretty amusing since according to fiction-land rules the Admiral should have some pretty uber Observation Haki.

I dunno about that 616 was pretty special by One piece's standards. It's very obvious Otsuka's effect on an episode, his storyboard for this one just made the episode much more enjoyable with those little zoom outs he does and just overall framing. Which ones are far better than him?
What I like about otsuka his seems to be a big shounen fan with his love for action, but I don't like about him is the man has no clue how to us sound or music it's embarrassing how weak he is in that aspect compared to everyone else.
His not really that active but I did love his haikyuu single episode, one piece 616 & 609.
521 and his 15th anniversary opening ussop luffy chasing a gold beetle & his fan fiction fights is always embarrassing to watch.
Also he hasn't showmen me his able to do a more somber emotional episode like the others have done.
Would love for him to do an a tv special but I don't think his anywhere near as good people are making him out to be, especially compared to his peers who are more well rounded in there skills then him.
