This episode was great, especially in terms of direction and pacing. They censored the imaginary shooting scene but I think it's okay.

RE: A Study of One Piece Animation
Most of DBS (in-house) animators will attend the movie, and it's confirmed that Tu will join the Precure team.
There might be gaps between the movie and TV if the storyboard wasn't finished that early, so some animators might attend One Piece for a while after the finishing of DBS TV.
In addition, according to the main staff list of Kitaro, it seems that this show is made mainly by the former Appmon team.

Direction wise, it's confirmed that Yutaka Nakashima will also return to One Piece. He's drawing storyboard for an episode now.
In Episode of East Blue, Hiroyuki Sato was the episode director of Usopp and Sanji Parts, and in Sanji Part he also did the storyboard. So indeed Sato has already returned to One Piece for quite a while.

Komaki did the storyboard for this episode, and this episode was a total Komaki!

RE: A Study of One Piece Animation
Nice catch there. Toei really needs to let him work on a whole episode at some point. His Red Hawk scene on Dressrosa was so tantalizing.
Also, I know it was mentioned that Ichikawa and Yokoyama are on the special episodes, but have we really not gotten the staff for the rest of the month? Dragon Ball Super's listings have been out for a few days; One Piece's is rather late.

RE: A Study of One Piece Animation
They actually did change the first person kicks(still not perfect, but at least they are making progress), and backgrounds and such. I'm glad to know they are still working on it!
And thank you for the information, sun_chopper~! by the way, when you say Otsuka will do important action scenes, do you mean he animates them or just directs them?My pleasure!
And sorry for misunderstandings, this special will directed by Otsuka and supervised by Fukazawa. According to Otsuka's tweets, he finished the storyboard for this special around early August, and it took him 2.5 months to draw the storyboard.
What Otsuka said is that Koizumi will animate the important action scenes. I made a grammar mistake lol. The kicking scenes might be Koizumi's work, but I'm not sure.
Otsuka was also busy directing Episode of East Blue when he was drawing the storyboard for the autumn special. In addition, now that it's just a special that contains two episodes (#807 and #808) together, I'm wondering if it will have normal opening song and intro just like other episodes.

RE: A Study of One Piece Animation
Dear friends, it's too early to tell whether the autumn special will look good or not from a 15-sec-long PV.
And guess what? In the autumn special we'll have Otsuka again, and Kouizumi too!
Autumn special staff:
Chief Direcror: Toshinori Fukazawa
Director: Takashi Otsuka
Chief Animation Director: Keiichi Ichikawa
Animation Director: Kenji YokoyamaWhile the special is part of the regular anime, it has the peculiar positions called chief director and director.
In addition, Noboru Koizumi also attends this special and Otsuka says Koizumi does some important action scenes. The main fight may be Koizumi's work. It has been ten years since he left One Piece anime. He also attended the winter SP in 2015, but that's totally different.

RE: 802: ''Sanji's Anger - The Germa 66's Secret''
Sadly it's Fuji TV (my god why Fuji the stupid again) that has words for censorship, and the anime just has to follow the censorship guideline.
@Dropper has made a great thread that contains comparisons between broadcast version and blu-ray version (http://apforums.net/showthread.php?t=45206) and we can easily find that in blu-ray version there are more bloods.

RE: 801: ''The Benefactor's Life - Sanji and Owner Zeff''
The king kong gun was actually another move which actually had attention. Remember Rayleigh was telling Luffy to think of another method and Luffy thought of the big boy king kong gun.
Being an Amime only watcher many many years ago I have seen the difference in quality of animation, and yes I understand that Toei are very close to the manga etc. also when talking about One Piece to a manga only reader many years ago, I had theories and thoughts completely turned away due to the fact that the filler was non canon
A lot of the anime only watchers get random ideas and their character scalings are beyond stupid. I mean lets be honest, if someone says "Oh Luffy had to use king kong gun against cracker" any manga reader would say no, this never happened.
Yeah it's not drawn in manga, but it doesn't mean it never happened. Oda didn't draw everything in manga after all.

RE: 801: ''The Benefactor's Life - Sanji and Owner Zeff''
Something I've been consistently noticing lately is that they have no idea how to pace action properly. It's so god damn slow, the punches have no weight (and I will stress this every time). It looks like Luffy is pushing his fist forward instead of snapping into the opponent.
I'm not saying Gear Fourth should be this fast, but it sure could use the feeling of impact in that scene.
I didn't remember if Oda has ever explained the speed of G4 in manga, but do G4 ought to be fast? It's very huge and physically speaking it's nearly impossible to move very fast.
Speaking of impacts, the KKG in this episode did should have more weights, but this episode might be one of the most rushed episodes ever, so it's ready lucky enough because the episode could really have been as bad as #725. I would be very mad if we had a #725 again.:ninja:

RE: 799: ''A Full-Throttle Showdown - Gear Fourth vs. Biscuit Biscuit Powers''
I liked the conversation between Sanji and Reiju too. Just like what Jakisuaki said above, it really set the mood. And Reiju is just beautiful!

Neko have a different color scheme?
Yeah, but they changed it before the arc began.
The official website now has a different design so I didn't find the article yet.:ninja:
