@Captain:
[hide]I'm sorry, I should have specified better what I wanted to ask. I was referring to people who support a political party that is clearly buried in corruption schemes and damaged an entire country.
It is difficult to understand people who advocate something that is impossible to defend. This action leads me to two options, either the person is misinformed or is associated with the party and profiting from it. The first I have no prejudice, but the second, yes.
I do not hate, but I feel disgusted or gutted with people that even with information, deny arbitrary facts.[/hide]
[hide]Look at it like this. What of your own party? How do they from the opposition party view your party? I bet they would say the same thing. Your party is clearly corrupt and damaging the country. I'm not saying it's true but there's perspective and could you really say they're wrong? As far as I know there is no political party on earth that doesn't have at least some amount of corruption in it. Now, I'm not saying all political parties are alike and it doesn't matter who is in power, but if you're going to judge an individual judge them by their own individual merits and not the party they support. Unless you would want supporters from the other party to judge you completely based on what party you align with. I just don't believe what political party you support completely defines you.
I live in the U.S and the country is basically divided in roughly halves. The democratic and republican sides. For all intents and purposes I would say I'm a democrat and I do believe the republican party as it is now is bad for this country. Their policies and their rhetoric. Does that mean I should dislike half the country? Of course not. There are great, great people out there who support the party I don't. I have a High School student who is a Trump supporter. Misinformed or not I'm around the guy nearly every day and he is a good kid, and he doesn't agree with everything Trump says but has some weird liking to him. Whatever.
You can have opposing views with someone from their general political alignment down to the nitty gritty specific candidate they support but if you look at other things outside of political life you most likely will find common shared values. I understand you feel the other party is rife with corruption and bad policies and maybe you're right, I honestly don't know, but try and be more open to the thought that not everyone is going to share your political views, and perhaps the people supporting the other party aren't supporting it for its corruption but instead other values you might want to ask them about.
Buuuut there are of course exceptions. There are people in the opposing party you just won't get along with because their views are just so completely different from yours. There will be extreme people in your very own party you wouldn't get along with too. People are people and we vary greatly but just be open to the fact that, that diversity will create many situations where good people wind up in all sorts of different political parties, but that doesn't change who they are.[/hide]
