I used to watch these all the time. My favorite one was Pantherman. What an incredibly cheesy movie.

@AWB:
Anyone ever watch rifftrax? It's from the same people who did MST3K, carries the same premise, just does bigger movies. I just watched the rifftrax of Batman and Robin, and I love it.
Rifftrax is pretty good, though it's basically just Mike. Matrix Revolutions is my favorite thus far. I'm actually looking forward to Cinematic Titanic.
-
Hahaha. I have been meaning to buy DVDs for this for ages. I haven't given up. Someday I'll remember.
One episode I have recorded is from the Mike era. The movie is a bad english dub of a Russian movie called "Jack Frost." GODDAMN that was funny.
"Eat lead, Spring!"
-
I was born 1989…...yet I love this show. I used to stay up late with my sisters to watch it at night. My favorite will always be Gamera.
Gamera is really neat,
Gamera is good to eat,
We all love you GAMERA!!!! "Ew…there's a worm in my donut..." other kid collapses "I WAS KIDDING, I WAS KIDDING!!!"
! little girl pops up from the back seat of a car "Shut up and drive"
! "Mom's just mad cause she don't know phonics."I can't ever find that episode on YouTube.
Otherwise, Space Mutiny is an honorable mention.
"Would you like to come in?" "I was just about to do the Monster Mash."

You got me interested, so I checked out some of this episode on YouTube. Very funny, and it was only about ten minutes of it.
I really gotta start watching this again.

My god, you've got that right! I think the bad dubbing is acutally funnier than the comments.

A few hours ago I found a streaming channel over on justin.tv. I have only seen roughly 10 minutes but I'm loving it.
Here you go: http://www.justin.tv/thesynth

I just begin watching Mystery Science Theather 3000 recently and I can say I'm loving it a lot. My two personal favorite episodes so far are Pumaman and The Final Scarfice. Me and my college friend made a lot of smart ass comments about Rowsder on The Final Scarfice. lol. And MST3K is now up on Hulu.

Ive only seen the main film of MST 3K .. and i liked it.( the fil i think was This Planet Earth?)
Loved the random commentary XDI havent seen the series yet
-
The movie was for "This Island Earth" and features one of my favorite moments (NORMAL VIEW!!!).
I didn't know this thread existed. This show is my favorite (as you can tell from my sig, taken from Pod People), though I still haven't seen a majority of the episodes. Brilliant show. It made me fall in love with the amazing universe of B movies. My favorite episode has to be the Manos one (featuring the tender "Peeping Torgo" scene).
-
Last week, I just saw the epicness of Mexican Santa Clause episode. God, it was just awesome and Santa is dick head to poor Pitch, the devil.
-
I just thought I would post this… :ninja:
-
Damn, they are going to air Final Scarfice later today. I need to see that ridicious movie again.
-
I have no (read: zero) interest in any MST3K home video releases until they make a deal for Sandy Frank films. Until then it's too painful to watch.
-
I've been watching it recently, now that I have Netflix Instant Watch on my Xbox.
I totally forgot how awesome it is, I used to watch it all the time with my older sister when I was younger. My favorite one is definitley Time Chasers, sucks that that one isn't on Netflix though :/
-
I just saw Robot Monster, a few days ago. God, that movie was insane with grollia suit with a robot head.
I love this one bit that I think Joel was an impression of the Lennie character from Of Mice and Men when Ro-Men kidnappeds the girl.
-
Crow vs. Senor Sock on Talk Soup with an appearnce from Tom Servo and Mike.

A friend of mine let borrowed some of his MST3K boxsets since I haven't seen most of these episodes. Anyways I just finished watching Angels Revenge.
I never thought I would see a terrible Charlie Angel ripoff. Sure couple of the girls in the movie were cute, but god the teacher girl was a very terrible actress ever.

WOO-HOO!!!
Fans rejoice! The MST3K/Rifftrax guys are returning to TV for a short series (3 episodes) for the . . . . . National Geographic channel?
http://io9.com/mst3k-returns-to-tv-kind-of-thanks-to-national-geogr-1547445826But whatever! Who cares! They're on TV!
-
There are rumors and just rumors so far that the three will be reprising their Satellite of Love stranded characters in the specials. crosses fingers
-
Rifftrax has filled the void pretty well. And on movies you actually want to see them mess with.
You don't need the silhouettes to make it work at all.
-
Seeing how this is slated to air on April Fool's Day, I'm gonna say it's nothing but hate filled lies.
-
I'm glad they're back!
I'm currently watching all the episodes at a leisurely pace and it feels like I'll never get through them all, so it's never really felt like it's been gone. This has got to be one of the funniest shows I've ever seen, in regards to pure laughter.
EDIT: Great article on the history of the show. Also adds to the possibility of a "reboot" of sorts if Joel gets his way.
-
A kickstarter for new episodes of MST3K have begin. I hope this does happen.

cool!
but it would feel weird if they cant get most of the actors back
and hopefully it stays as close as to how they did it before as possible but with a refreshed feel
-
Okay, so the kickstarter has already hit 500 thousand so will probably hit its 2 million goal pretty quick, and even possibly the 5 million before its all said and done…
but where the hell does that money go? Licensing the films, paying the staff, I get that... but wasn't the entire point that MST3K is suuuuper low budget?
And as I said last time this thread was active, Riftrax pretty much fills the void anyway.

Well, remember, The Room took $6 million to make.
Granted, Tommy Wiseau didn't know what the fuck he was doing. I just know there's some level of irony going on here.

Well. Joel answered my exact question.

A lot of it goes into kickstarter fees and bonus tiers, and a good chunk is in startup cost. Individual episode is only about 250,000, which makes a lot more sense, and actually is super crazy cheap, since it still has to cover license costs.

So, I
m currently on a mission to watch all of these. Finished Season 1 and the first 4 episodes of Season 2 so far. So many more episodes to go, ugh :ninja:But it
s worth it, hilarious stuff. Its sad that this is practically unknown over here (only the movie was dubbed in German), though I guess it would be quite hard to translate, since so much of it are puns or references that no one here would get. Atleast we
ve gotten a similiar format in recent years in Germany that is clearly inspired by MST3K. -

-
Yeah, the first couple seasons of MST were actually a bit weaker, and slower. They got a lot more jokes in per minute later.. and sharper ones
-
The kickstarter for MST3K made it's first goal.

Felicia Day is going to be the new Mad on MST3K.

Felicia Day is going to be the new Mad on MST3K.
And the usual hatemongers have come out of the woodwork to claim the show has ""Gone Full SJW""…...
-
Who is Felicia Day and why would the hatemongers have against her (beyond the old "its not the same without the old/traditional cast!")
-

She's been in some Joss Whedon stuff and has done a lot of smaller indie things and web series like The Guild. She's a fine choice and will do a good job, she's got a good personality and is entertaining.
People hating are just being dumb,
-
I haven't seen much of her stuff. But I'm fine with her being the new Mad.

At least 3 episodes are, at any rate. Kickstarter really wants to get more than that though.

The Son of TV's Frank will be Patton Oswalt
-
Awesome to see Patton Oswalt to be in this.
-
This post is deleted!
-
It's official now. We are getting 12 episodes and a Christmas special.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Breaking news in the final minute of the kickstarter, they got to goal for the 14th episode. So the new season will be 14 episodes.
-
Yeah, the first couple seasons of MST were actually a bit weaker, and slower. They got a lot more jokes in per minute later.. and sharper ones
Yeah, I noticed that…
I've never seen MST3K before to be honest, seen a bunch of Rifftrax but not the original. My Roomie is a big fan tho, so I recently went and got all of it to watch... the first few episodes ARE slow... where would you recommend I start?
-
Here some of the episodes I do recommend.
The Final Sacrifice
The Pumaman
Mitchell
Pod People
Manos: Hands of Fate
I Accuse My Parents
Laserblast -
Don't forget the Gamera movies as well!
-
Also add onto that Space Mutiny and the spiritual sequel to Mitchell Final Justice, both great Mike Nelson episodes.
-
