@Bond:
I'm on it!
! First off, some extra information from Ochako's profile. She has little flesh pads on the tips of her fingers. If she touches something with all five pads on one hand, then her quirk will activate! The maximum weight that can be lifted with her quirk is 3 tonnes. When she's near her limit, she will get nauseous. Going over the limit may cause her to throw up. She hasn't gotten the hang of applying the quirk to herself. She'll get nauseous really quickly!
! The teachers of Yuuei (and Inspector Lupin) are discussing the villains Shikaragi (Facepalm) and Kurokiri (Warp Gate). After searching the quirk database for 20-30 year-old people with the villains' quirks, no matches were found. As they discuss further on the threat of Facepalm, they conclude that Facepalm is a dangerous manchild.
! Eraserhead clarifies that this year's Yuuei Sports Festival is going to have much higher security due to the recent events. Nevertheless, this is the biggest chance for the students to decide their future. The Yuuei Sports Festival is Japan's biggest sporting event, more anticipated than the Olympics (whose participants are steadily decreasing).
! During lunch break we see the students getting excited for the event (Iida's way of showing excitement puzzles Tsuyu-chan). Ochako's face shows the most drastic change of all (which surprises everyone). Later, Deku and Iida take the chance to ask Ochako about her reason for enrolling to Yuuei.
Ochako's reason is money. The two of them are taken aback, but try to reassure her that it is a completely normal reason. Though her parents work in construction, her family is startlingly poor.
Flashback! Young Ochako wants to help her dad in construction. Her dad appreciates it, but tells her that he would be happier if she could work towards her dream. Why, if she succeeds, she can even bring them all for a vacation. Ochako wishes to become a hero and earn as much as she can to make her parents life easier.
…Ochako...you're such a sweet girl...
! MIDORIYA, MY BOY!!
Would you like to have lunch with me?
What are you, a school girl?!!
! As Iida and Ochako discuss the possible reasons for All Might suddenly seeing Deku (Deku was the only one to rush towards All Might that time...their quirks are also quite similar. Maybe All Might just wants to show his thanks?), Ice Fire overhears them.
! All Might tells Deku that his body can now handle only 50 minutes of muscle time. He then asks how Deku is dealing with All For One. Deku replies that there was one time, when he attacked Noumu, when his bones did not shatter. All Might, intrigued, wonders what makes that time different. According to Deku, this was the first time he used his quirk against another human (human?). Either way, his control has improved.
! But anyway, to the main point. All Might's time as the Symbol of Peace is running short. Some people are starting to suspect the same thing as well. The reason All Might gave Deku the power of All For One, is for him to be the successor, the next person to bear the Symbol of Peace. At this Yuuei Sports Festival, where everyone will be watching, he wants the world to know, that Deku is the next All Might!!
! Good that Ochako doesn't get nauseous when touching other people. Throwing up in the mensa would have been bad. XD
! Manchild? So he is that young?
! Why is that sport festival the "biggest chance" for the students to decide their future? I don't get it. Don't they already decided onto their future by enrolling onto the superhero department of this school? Why should a sport festival be their biggest chance for becoming a superhero? Do they mean popularity? Or to change their dream into becoming a quirk athlete? Somehow that doesnt make quite sense to me.
! A real shame though that the Olymics lost popularity and are overtaken by a SCHOOL SPORTS FESTIVAL.^^;
Sure, due the quirks Olympics that are all about the nations and their athletes training hard to get a medal to honor their nation became quite of pointless as now having THE quirk means there is little to no competition. Imagine Iida as representant for Japan in the Olympics if Quirks were allowed. And another country sends in somebody who can teleport 100 metres. We all knew no matter how fast Iida runs, the teleport quirk would be at the finish long before him.^^;
For Olympics to work all nations would have to send somebody who all have the same quirk or at least similar ones like Iida's engine legs. Else it is a borefestival as everyone would know from the start who gonna win this.
! I wonder how quirkless people must feel about this though, given that the Olympics were still around a couple years ago before everyone mutated. Which makes me wonder if ANYBODY in the world still tries to find out how and why humanity suddenly "changed" so much in a couple days/weeks/months/years. Something like that would normally have taken millions of years of evolution. If suddenly calling forth fire was even a evolutionary possibility, that is. XD
Just what was the cause of all this?
Aliens?
Some meteroit?
An experiment gone wrong?
Oh well, hopefully BokuHero will one day answer that question and not forget the biggest question it brought forth in its first couple pages. :D
! Dawww, Ochako, you're so sweet my tooth is hurting due caries! <3
! Todoroki would be such a perfect villian with his "two-faced" design. Superstrong, smart, full of willpower and everything. Shame he's so deadset on becoming a hero.^^
! 50 minutes? Damn, all the villians need to do is wreck havoc in the city for an hour so that All Might tries his best to help and once he runs out of power, the remaining villians jump him. Heck in his "normal" state, the weakest villian could KILL him with a dry cough!!!
! Man, Deku's control is improving tremensiously, like on a monstrous level. o.O
! He want to tell the world WHAT?
DId he spoke with the principal about this? Or the league of justice or whatever the internation hero high society is called in this world? O.O
That's literally insane! All Might IS already the target of every villian in the world as the current peace of symbol! Midoriya as the "future symolb of peace" would be a much easier target due his lesser control and varity compared to All Might's current power! And if the future symbol of peace dies after that declaration of AM, that would also leave the world in shambles. not as much as AM's death, but still.
Plus with Deku's death a part of AM's power would be lost forever…
! Deku right now just cannot take in the WHOLE power of AM. Not after just 25 chapters! That would be like Naruto learning Rasengan before reaching the 25-30th chapter or Luffy going straight into 3rd gear mode before even meeting all of his crewmates! Then again, it looks more and more like AM is about to die pretty soon. Like "50 minutes" away from breaking down and dieing and all of his power from "All for One" is lost forever-soonish. I wonder if AM will even see the light of chapter 50 at this rate.
! I wonder how Deku will look like at the end of this manga.
Will he still be "himself" as he is right now or will he have become a "symol" for the world, but broken inside just like AM. If it is the former I would question myself how Deku could do that while AM failed and if it is the latter it would be sad as we saw that AM has no family, no wife or girlfriend, no children on his own. All he got was his job and a couple best friends who know that his time is as good as up already. And the same future might await Deku... how old is AM to begin with? Over 30? 40? He's clearly not 50 so... if the All for One power leaves as devasting results on Deku as on AM, then Deku won't live long that's for sure. Especially if the All for One power grew even stronger due AM's contribution to it...man, All for One is such a self-destroying quirk, it's insane that Deku would even want that. But it is for his dream, so dieing a horrible and painful early death while chocking on your blood might be worth it. For me it would not be worth it though.^^;
Speaking of All for One:
Given AM's explanation All for One seems to be around for many generations (we heard Midoriya's mom is "4th generation", though given the looks from the doctors in chapter 1, it cannot be over 100 years ago that quirks showed up) always passed on from one to another. Yet the whole quirk business started only a couple years ago, whenever it is 10 or 20 or 30 or less or more than that. So how could a quirk already exist long before the glowing baby was born? Is maybe there a connection to the whole all of humanity suddenly mutated into people with superpowers out of a comicbook?
Also if AM is already so strong then some of his former power's holder must have had simialr strength or speed or such. So why did humanity never heard about such amazing people before AM made his superhero debut? Did they hide and trained the All for One power? But why would they? Especially the one before AM who must have been AM's mentor as is AM to Midoriya. It just feels weird if you think about it…
Also after reading chapter 1 again, I wonder what the real goal of this manga gonna be like. Deku becoming exactly like AM or a better version of him seems weird given the death sentence that bring this quirk with it. As long as this story does not find a way to tell the readers "everything is fine and Deku gonna live a long and happy life with marrying Ochako and having two kids while doing his hero business", we all know that no matter how this manga ends:
At some point Deku will die, his body unable to support his All for One power, searching for a successor just like AM did before him,and the people before AM.
And that is no real "happy ending".
Also in chapter 1, the manga did not start with showing quirks as something awesome or heroic. It showed it as a bully thing. And with the words "no men is born equal". With quirks being called "good" or "bad" ones, as in controlling fire and ice at the same time is awesome while attracting small things to you like Midoriya's mom is a lame one, humans are even more different than before. Being smart or fast or strong or talented at drawing, writing, etc doesn't seem to mean anything anymore as everybody's dream, even of the quirkless Deku, is to become a "hero". Everything else are just the "left-overs" who could not become heroes.
And we see that diversity even among the heroes, even that wood hero got outdone by the titan lady and we see her bath in glory and attention while the other one sulks about his "stolen" oppurtunity to build up his reputation. Even All Might have a short moment where we saw his "mightyness" being a "better than you" attitude when he said "Seriously! I was forced to land to talk to a person at the bottom of the social ladder, what.". Same with Kacchan when he called the villian who was about to absorb him a "muddy". I first thought that was due the apperance of the villian, but after the latest chapters, I think that might be a "quirk insult" about liquid quirk people similar to how in Harry Potter wizards from normal families are called Muggles.
Same with how all the other people were just "audience" to a tradegy happening before them, watching, laughing, smiling and taking photos like it is some kind of "event" while Kacchan was about to get devoured by the villian and well, most likely die there. And heck. Even AM would have just stood there and waited for another hero to show up and take care of the villian if it had not been for Deku's insane and suicide-like attack to help his "childhood friend" ( more like childhood asshole but whatever) that ignited AM's inner justice flame again. After all, nothing had stopped AM to do what he did to save Kacchan before Deku rushed there, risking his life to save somebody despite having no quirk whatsoever.
And while this chapter did end with "this is the start to my journey to become the best of all heroes", it made now wonder if this is really how the manga gonna end. This weird quirk "All for One" that can be given from one person to another. This sudden apperance of supernatural phenomens called quirks till 80% of all humans are superpower-humans who cannot move their little toes as they got no joints there (that one still makes me grin XD). A society that seems to be dead-set and crazy after quirks and fame and standing over everybody else, while the manga started to speak about "equality" and how it is not given even since birth. And how much its inequality has itensified after the awaking of quirks.
I dunno. I am most likely wrong. But I thought that maybe this manga wont be about Deku becoming the best of all heroes and standing on the very top of the world (because in the end that would mean the death of him due his quirk taking a toll on his body and having to pass the torch of the "symbol of peace"), but for Deku to see the inequality (quirkless humans for example, we have so far only seen Deku, who got treated very badly by his entire class (heck, even the teacher made fun of his dream as he told the whole class about it, fully knwoing their reaction)all others could have had quirks for all we know) of the world of quirks and that he wants to do something against it. Like I said I am most likely wrong, but I would find it pretty interesting if it would end with Deku giving up his superpower by somehow being able to end all quirks on the world with his sacrifice.
While that does sound incredible weird, stupid and maybe even lame to some of you, I kind of thought it would be sweet if humanity at the end of Bokuhero would return to its "Normal state" just like Deku who could then live a normal life as a police officer for example. And besides taking away the powers of heroes it would also take away the powers of villians. The villians usingtheir quirks for their crimes was the reason for superheroes to exist, if quirks are taken, neither supervillians nor superheroes are needed anymore.
Villians would return to their usual crimes with guns and knives and poison and bank robbing without superpowers, no more killing with fire or ice or crushing people. And superheroes would have to accept that no villians having superpowers to commit massmurder in a minute or less might be better than having those kinda villians with superheroes being around who "maybe" might be able to stop them.
And as we saw with Kacchan at the first chapter, lots of heroes can hit their limit very quickly if they think they got no "advantagous (which is why I still am sad how often a quirk already determines the outcome of a battle simply due its "quirkness")" quirk to take out the villian.
So yeah, just my thoughts after reading the latest raw and rereading chapter 1.^^;
