Chapter 803: Climbing the elephant

He and the rest of the BB pirates are pretty capable people.
I'm sure that sneaking aboard a ship isn't hard for any of them, even when injured.
We had a chance to see just how capable Burgess was not that long ago. After failing in almost everything he did, we are now supposed to believe that now that he's heavily wounded he turned into a super spy and managed to hitch a ride with Revolutionaries and hide on their main base undetected.
It's just bullshit for me. Too many people would have to be incompetent in order for a huge-ass wounded man to unload on and offload off a fully manned Revolutionary ship. And now he's hiding behind a rock and talking to his mates with his cellphone. It's like the Revolutionary main base isn't even guarded or they don't even try to monitor comunications. We saw they take care of using white snails to avoid being overheard by WG, why wouldn't they use black snails to intercept possible communication from the enemy or spies. Didn't we hear from CP9 how they infiltrated Revolutionaries to kill one of their leaders? It's like they don't even have a shitload of enemies in a world where people have magical abilities.
Ok, nuff ranting for now.

I expect the Revos have a emergency escape pod.
Sabo: And you saying the Emergency Escape Pod to Texas was a bad idea, Koala.
-
From kanjuro not even having a sword and now ninja's in wano confirmed, this means that Wano will be Luffy taking down the big bad again, sorry Zoro fans, Zoro may get a good samurai fight but now we know that the strongest guy in wano doesn't even have to be a samurai sword user..
I dont think the main villain in Wano will be one of the samurais. Based on Kinemon and Kanjuro, samurais are the good guys. Unless there is some evil samurai that wants to take over the throne.
So even if the main wano villain is swordman, luffy still takes him down. Heck , he could be a swordman as law is with a broken df. So he wont have a pure sword skill fight with zoro. Not that zoro takes the main villain, with law around, he doesn°t even get the second guy, he gets the 3rd.
-
What if The Revolutionaries or just Dragon is aware of Burgess and are setting a trap to lure The Blackbeard Pirates to this Island which doesn't seem normal ( he said I see only white). Or maybe only the top brass of the RA knows how to get inside this island. And maybe no one else can enter. ???
Dragon and his ilk are more concerned with bringing down the WG. However, I could see them switching tactics when they see the BB Pirates getting too dangerous to not pay attention to.
It also depends on how much the Revolutionary forces are willing to cooperate/go against pirate crews for their agenda.

But what are the odds that the strongest person in the land of samurai isn't even a samurai.

The strongest person there is probably kaido.
As long as zoro takes down the stronest samurai. -
Like, he's terribly wounded and probably bleading and he's not hiding from blind, deaf retarded people.
but he is hiding from people that are not looking for him..so he just need to not stay where they are not..situation would be different if they were searching him..in that case someone like burgess is difficult to hide..but as long as nobody is looking for him,he just need to find a room on the ship where they are likely not to go..especially since there was like 5 of them on the ship at best,at least from what we saw
-
So it appears Laffite might be the broker who said its not the underworld problem alone anymore, tell the world… cause he reminds me of that person
Harujin quitting the pirate circus aka dispatch society is the lighthearted version of Jimbei's from Big mom.
Despite Burgess sugestion the blackbeard pirates could profit alot more if they get their hand on the actual mastermind of the weapons production which i suspect will turn out to be captain Jack and by the time the Blackbeard would attack Baltigo would be disadvantageous to them, i do see Burgess getting away somehow, but hoping Dragon will not be as merciful as luffy and Sabo.Buggy is terrific and yet terrible. But buisness is sweet. a shame his crew has gotten so relaxed to get this much out of shape.
Can't wait to hear what happened at wanokuni. Makes me think Jack and Weeble will meet the strawhats there. But will the two cooperate or will it be a three way mabe four with marines or will luffy not even have to fight eigher and mabe will warm up for yonko with a surprise visit from Green bull?
Summary things got a whole lot more exciting, The plot thickens, arararra...
Confirmed forshadowing of revolutionaries and ciperpol aigis...
When will Blackbeard feel content to attempt his world takeover, how much more devil fruits are needed, how many weapons do his fodder need? Did he go against his words and recruit a whole lot of fodder to fill his fleet or are thet as capable as people such as cavendish?
-
Shichibukai, Worst Gen, Yonkou and Admiral. Teach have gone places.

Around 8 of them were shown in a single panel, and that's without Sabo and the crow zoan.
Probably a fully manned ship. And like I said, too many people should have been careless in order for a giant wounded man to sneak around undetected.

You don't really need to be a super spy to stow away on a ship. Especially not a fairly big cargo ship like that, which is transporting tons of crates of weapons. A ship like that should have plenty of nooks you could hide in. Then he probably hid until they disembarked and snuck out when there were less people onboard. And now he's hidden outside of the actual base.
Should be easy peasy for a guy who's a high ranking commander in the new world

Burgess is commando
Also him being close to death could explain why his aura was not felt by big guns
Its very likely that closetodeath people aura is weak, like when Law gotten shoot by Mingo. Also - chill Razh. Chapter was quite great and Burgess being sneaky sneaky isnt that bad, really..

Zoro will hvae the spotlight in Wano, you know given he has 1 of the national treasures of that Kingdom in his possession - given the type of people they are, i can't imagine them taking too kindly to a pirate having i, plus Zoro needs a proper challenge from a real swordsman. He had a good fight with Zombie Ryuuma, but the last fight we saw him in which he was pushed to his limits and suffered massive injuries was Mr.1 back at Alabasta. Pica was a joke, Hyouzou didn't pose much of challenge, Kaku pushed him a bit…..

if i'm not mistaken, Momonosuke said he wanted to be the Shogun 1 day, and if i'm not mistaken, they're like Military Generals or very high ranking people in terms of power in Japan centuries ago, i would suspect that would be the case here too, being their greatest warrior, either that or the "Emperor" of Wano Kingdom…..

Should also be easy for some of the most wanted people in the world to discover bleeding hulks right on the doorstep of their own main base. I'd just expect that Revolutionaries guard their HQ at least competent enough so that a big dude without any kind of devil fruit can't get there and call for an airstrike.
I'd expect a little more criticism towards such a blatant shortcut in writing. And like I said, Burgess' status doesn't mean shit when we got to actually see how competent he was. Now he's supposedly hanging by a thread on that island. I guess I won't be as bothered by it if they manage to find his ass and lock him up or something.

I don't know about you guys, but the mental image of a huge bulky guy like Burges sneaking around on a ship like Snake is hilarious.

There's quite a huge step betwenn not quite as good as Sabo, and completely useless.
I think you are asking alot of the guard staff if you expect them to perform to the level of Sabo.
Even injured and weakened he's probably the biggest and baddest fish on the island not named Sabo or Dragon.

The only thing I disagree with in the first paragraph is the Kaku bit; I felt that he did a tad more than just "push Zoro a bit".
As for the second one, if I had to guess who'd be top dog in Wano I'd say the Shogun. Given the time period Wano seems to be set, the Emperor was almost universally recognized as a figurehead.

the dude is basically bleeding out and you think he's the 3rd baddest fish there? any old grunt could shoot him and guys like hack could just straight up kick his ass rn

People don't need to be strong enough to beat the shit out of Burgess just to be able to spot him while on patrol of the island or something.
Can't take things like that for granted. It's like all those injuries he's suffering don't even have a purpose. He'd still be hiding and waiting.

Kaku pushed zoro more than "just a bit".

All of these teases are done really well, but after 200 chapters, I'm finally expecting some pay-off to all this teasing. Kaidou vs. the Kidd alliance sounds insane. Blackbeard Pirates vs. the revolutionaries sounds nuts. A confrontation with Big Mom? Also nuts!
The thing is the pay-off hasn't been all that great (Doflamingo was also hyped in this way, but the fight was underwhelming to me) and once again, there's setting up a lot of things going on. I really hope it'll deliver. -
People don't need to be strong enough to beat the shit out of Burgess just to be able to spot him while on patrol of the island or something.
True. Hence the hiding and keeping out of sight bit.
But his strength and standing also logically extends to speed. The guy probably moves well enough, even injured, that the normal on-guard patrol grunt probably only sees a shadow zip by. I mean every two-bit lackey seems to know the speed parts of the six forms, does anybody expect a commander of the strongest emperor not to be know how to keep up with that? Granted he's injured and probably not moving as well, but keeping in the shadows and moving using bursts of speed should still be easy for a beast like that. And besides that he's not even in their guarded zones, it's not like he's sneaking into their holiest of holies, he's behind a rock like a kilometer outside of the base proper.
Can't take things like that for granted. It's like all those injuries he's suffering don't even have a purpose. He'd still be hiding and waiting.
He's obviously not going to be taking any chances in getting into fights.
But there's a strong track record in OP of people being more dead than alive and kicking ass.
-
@jabso:
Kaku pushed zoro more than "just a bit".
Perhaps. The fact is, i want to see Zoro in a fight the likes of which Luffy is in, pushed to his limits, comes out with serious injuries at the end like with his fight with Doffy or Lucci.

burgess is bleeding if there are any portals they should atleast see the blood on ground

looks more burned than bleeding to me..especially counting who he was fightining against

So I'm very mixed about this chapter. I'm sad to see Bart go, but understand that his gag could get old for some people so maybe that was for the best. I found it distracting that Robin found the dragon snake cute, but figure some might find it funny so I let that one go. I actually like that half of the Strawhats are gone now..cuz it gives a goal for both Luffy and Law to find thier crews! I also like the idea that this will be a ninja…even if it's rather odd for Samurai to be friends with a ninja. But it could be fun so I'll wait and see. Loved seeing Dragon and the promise of seeing his highest ranking men in the future, and the way Burgess accidentally stowed away was both funny, and could lead to an amazing battle bewteen the Revolutionary army and the Blackbeard Pirates! I also like how we saw his crew and also love that they are still keeping timeskip Blackbeard's appearance a secret.
And now for the biggest thing. Out of everything I'm willing to ignore or give the benifit of a doubt, this bothered me- Buggy's new design. It'd like he separated his hands and feet from his torso with bara bara and then wore a lack kite as an outfit to make himself look bigger..but that's not the worst offender...the worst is his hair! Ugly baboon sideburns and messy, unruly hair in the back! I will say, I'd hoped he got buff, but knew he wouldn't. I also am glad he didn't chome back obsese, like id feared. But this is just horrible! I liked seeing his crew again, they looked great! Loved seeing Alvida, Mr 3 and Cabaji! They look great! I also found it funny that the Giants left his crew (lol) and were "S class" members and valuable to him. "Golden goose egg" indeed...lol
The twist at the end was underwhelming. Would have been more exciting to actually see what it was. Bah, either way..I think I liked this chapter but I'm really mixed.

I'm not sure that's going to make Razh any happier lol

Are there any predictions concerning the reasons that led Sanji and co. to land ?
There was some foreshadowing when they were first shown on Zou, but it is still confusing.
And concerning the person in the air on the last panel, I have the feeling that it will explain how Sanji and co. managed to climb the giant elephant.
Maybe Chopper in a new form ? (yeah, like the flying reindeers of Santa Claus lol) -
looks more burned than bleeding to me..especially counting who he was fightining against
A guy who is probably among the best hand-to-hand fighters shown so far and who carries a steel pipe with him. Sure, let's just assume he isn't bleading from anywhere after getting beaten to a pulp by Sabo.
Honestly, why try so hard?
-
Update on Buggy = best flashy chapter since the timeskip.
-
-
fk me, how did i miss that…..Reminds me of that Sherlock quote " you see but you don't observe". I need to pay more attention to the panels from now on...
-
I noticed that after the timeskip that there is more focus on world events and how the Strawhats actions don't only effect people locally but globally, especially after the fact that their actions on Dressrosa was broadcasted instead of covered up. As Doflamingo said, more and more people are going to be vying for the throne.
-
Damn, I feel like a One Piece character not having noticed that
-
I'm not sure that's going to make Razh any happier lol
Lol. There is a silver lining to this whole thing, though. We may get to see Dragon fight some!
In a couple of years?
Btw, don't think getting to Vertigo/Baltigo/Baltico is as easy as following a vivre card. Especially if it's in the sky or something. Wonder how it will play out.
Naturally, I don't see either of the groups getting pawned just like that.–- Update From New Post Merge ---

Maybe because it's edited.
-
It's obviously a trap set up by the revolutionaries, i don't know what for, but it'd be pretty dumb from Sabo not to search in Burgess's body, so he must know he had a Vivre Card.
Edit: Oh, wait, he wasn't brought there by Sabo, he infiltrated in the ship! sorry for not paying attention.

Great chapter, awesome to see the BB pirates, Buggy and Revolutionaries, I wanted some more of this in the arc transition so its good that it happened as we start the arc anyway.
"He's a Ninja!" haha looking forward to meet this character and see Luffy be amazed again.
As for the falling person I'll be random and say its Bepo but its probably a new character either the ninja or a mink.
I would love if the ninja was a fatass.
Seems I was right about Bartolomeo not staying(me and others).
Also it seems Kinemon felt kinda bothered that Kanjurou drew a dragon, it seems to support the whole thing of people in Wano hating dragons and Kaido maybe being a dragon zoan or maybe its bad interpretation of me or bad translation by manga panda.
About the drawn dragon bit: I think kinemon is just referring to his unfortunate fate of having momo now turning into a dragon

Have you noticed how callous Shiliview was towards Burgess' status. I beginning to wonder if the rest of the Blackbeard Pirates have this same sort of view for their comrades.
-
Sabo is training his new powers, that all you need to get from that.
And Oda intends that we have a big large scale fight, hence, showing Sabo's training (so that his massive upcoming moves during the fight won't surprise us), and Dragon calling for his terrifying captains.
I dare say One Piece may actually turn into a fast paced action based manga from a while. A lot of battle setups I see now

Well they are mostly bad guys, in a classical sense. It makes sense that their relationships are a little rougher.

@The:
Who's falling?
Sanji vs Raizou
Place ur bets everyone
Or elephant poop

I doubt we'll get to see that much of the fight. If it even comes to it.

What a cool chapter! I didn't expect to see the Blackbeard crew, but it was a treat indeed. Burgess at revolutionary headquarters? Something big is on the horizon and I can't wait. Plus I think we can all agree that we missed Buggy, Right?
I enjoyed Robin's reactions and it was really a nice touch to see Franky inspecting the Sunny and being a shipwright. Everyone being excited about a ninja was funny. The way Luffy reacted was classic and I can't help but wonder; could this ninja end up being a potential crew member?
-
Good chapter. Ever since we left Dressrosa (good riddance) OP has been in fine form.
Way too soon to say that. Wait and see for now.
