Saw the whole episode. And it was funny as hell. The way Peridot tries to cope with the idea that earth isn't as Advance as the home world planet. Makes me wanna believe that she was very oblivious with what a toilet is. lol
It's kinda like having a foreign exchange student visit your hometown and gets confusing what's popular, what's not?
In this case... It's an alien who's never seen the 21st Century before.
Can't wait for the next episode of the show.
Daww, this was hilarious. I'm glad they made something of the earlier capture of Peridots Foot, and that they didn't all-out redeem her yet. If they're going to make her an eventual ally they need need NEED to in some way adress the fusion experiments; the last thing I want is for Steven Universe to get its own personal Mayuri.
Peridot is quickly climbing my favorite characters list. I want to see more of her and Steven interacting, they play off each other wonderfully. In a way she feels a lot like Steven's equal, but on the homeworld side.
Though I'm curious what she meant by 'harvest'. Does homeworld take 'useless' gems and use them as fuel or something? That'd be frightening.
I've also seen some neat theories on the cluster. If it's indeed true that homeworld was going to hollow out the earth, then what if in the middle of it there's this giant fusion experiment? And when it awakens, it'll become a planet sized monster fusion tearing through earth?! It was a pretty cool theory.
They really should have tried splitting this up into two parts.
Given the ending, I'm pretty sure they did. This seems pretty blatantly like something that should be followed up in the next episode, or bunch of episodes even.
I think valiantt meant that the capture of Peridot should have been an entire episode while Steven talking to her should have been another.
!

Maybe she meet that the first time they came here to visit earth. They ship crash landed on area 51 and the US government actually did their first experiments on a few of the gems who were alive at that time.
Think little green men but like Peridot. Short, defenseless, and possibly harvest for their manipulation of the gems.
I think that should be another Cartoon Conspiracy theory!
Food for thought?
Peridot Onion episode please.
! Peridot just got a place in my heart. Damn, Steven is the champ for wanting to understand everybody, even if they hurt him before.
! I didn't expect "playful" cat and Amethyst peeing in the ocean though.
! I love this show.

Gems arived 10k years ago. No gem has come to earth since the war ended until peridot, long before mankind. If they did, they weren't related to the Yellow diamond kingdom or such, so Peridot woudn't know that mankind has that technology.
I've always loved Peridot because I have a thing for really childish engineer characters with alot of talent, short temper, and pretty much bad at fighting off enemies. Think Tron Bonne from Megaman Legends. This episode was a real treat for me! Seeing her vulnerable side even more than before makes me reaaaal happy!
Now. I'm wating for the episode where she finally meets Ronaldo~ I feel like they got alot in common
How spoilerish is to especulate about episode titles?
Peridot is the new family cat.
What's with the ignorant mothers lately? And Peridot was just adorable! Best gem cat.

Pretty much this, though I feel the whole part with Peridot kidnapping Steven could have been its own thing. For something as big as Peridot infiltrating their base and kidnapping Steven, it seemed pretty rushed and glazed over (heck even Amethyst kinda sorta pointed that out).
Whatevs, it could have been better, but what we got was pretty funny on it's own.

Oh great. Now the show is turning Gurren Lagann
! The more details they provide on Peridot, the less threatening and significant she seems to becomes. What the heck is she supposed to be? The Homeworld equivalent of a lab intern? She doesn't seem particularly intelligent (I guess) or knowledge of the Earth as she pretty much relies on a portable wikipedia for everything. She isn't particularly powerful without her limb enhances. She doesn't seem at all that experienced based on her age. So…I can only wonder what her role is in the whole scheme of things.

The general consensus is that Peridot is the equivalent of a summer intern and/or person Yellow Diamond pulled out of the mail room for what was thought to be a backwoods planet.

Peridot is literally Zim.

I swear I found a gif of spinning toilet Peridot spliced with Zim going down the toilet.

Administrative staff.
let me see if a got this right.
! the gem fusions we saw in "keep it together" were only prototypes? And…there's a gimunga-sized gem resting deep in the earth's core and when it wakes up...BOOM...the Earth goes bye-bye?!
i need to lie down…this is too much to take in.
! So Peridot never actually contributed to the experiments, she just checked up on them. Good.
! And she appears to believe that Homeworld grew the gems shards themselves, whereas Garnet inferred they were pretty much corpses of dead crystal gems. I can see that being used as a way to turn Peridot around completely.
I'm still wondering how Homeworld can at the same time be repelled from earth, and yet consider it an abandoned, threatless place.

All gems are bigger than their actual gem - so if gems increase in size the more gems they have - and the cluster is almost the size of the planet …
Hmmm. What if the cluster end up being an ally? my planet vs other planets.
Got around to watching the new one
Pacing is getting rather quick.

Only got a 11 minutes per episode, gotta get that info in there. Though they could've dropped the Steven love you bit to add 5 to 10 seconds to other scenes that needed it.
The "One more thing!….I love you" moment was the best thing about the episode though. If they eventually wind up increasing the exposition/"main plotline" ratio, its moments like that that're gonna keep me watching. Which is why I'm really glad that it looks like theres' still gonna be a ton of Beach City character episodes, and that even expository/Main plotline episodes like this have a character-focused core; in the case of the latest two, developing Peridot with a megaton of endearing little moments.
I'd probably lose interest in the show too if the mood shifts to something entirely dark/serious/exposition plot heavy as well. Because then I'd get the impression that it's only trying to pander to those that solely want the serious stuff/focused stuff and nothing much else.
I mean. I've met people that say the love the show, but only seen Jailbreak…
Those sheep.
"It doesn't get good til the season finale"
ROLLEYES!!!

Doubt that. These past episodes have just been like this because of the Peridot capture.
It´s kind of an important moment. They can´t just "pause" it, make an episode about Steven following Mr. Smiley around for some reason, and then return to it.
Or they could, but it would feel weird. "Now that you finally came back from your day with that guy with the bad shirt to help him get together with his wife, let me explain what the cluster is".
Also, watermelon island is on the way!

But that was one of the best parts of the episode! It's a moment I wouldn't cut personally. Its the little character moments that make the show, always have.
Now if it was a full 30 second scene or a minute, yeah, its extraneous… but just a couple seconds to keep the character bit? That's not at the cost of anything else.
Compared to say. Anything having to do with Lars. We've wasted entire episodes on him.
I thought I posted a response to people regarding my post. But I realized my post made me sounded more soulless than it meant to be haha. It was supposed to be a "well what can you do, its 11 minutes" not "Let's cut out the human moments."
I got really excited but then found out its all blind bags, dog tags, and pop figures. There's some plush too, but I was hoping for a toy line, but I think after Regular Show / Mystery Incorporated / Ben 10 toy line bombed we might might see anymore of those.

Well, Regular Show had terrible toys.. but I was under the impression Ben 10's toys did really well, and that was part of the reason it ran so long?
Are the songs always this amazing?
….fuck me I need to watch this show already.

Ben 10 had good toy run during its first two seasons. Though it did age up the characters to reach a slightly older audience during its Alien Force / Ultimate Alien phase of the show. But by Ultimate Alien the toys were doing so bad that Walmart n Target rejected Omniverse's toy line. Omniverse's redesign was an attempt to get a young audience to come back to the show, and it worked. It's ratings raised, but Walmart n Target never bought the toy line. So Omniverse had a very limited toy run only at places like Toys R Us. The show did well, getting 80 episodes. But once Cartoon Network realized the toys weren't going to take off the show burnt out 40 episodes with daily premieres while kids were at school. The new show looks to be a complete series reboot, sadly Omniverse ended with its attempt of starting a new series with Ben, Gwen, Kevin, and Rook going on a intergalactic road trip.
Looks like Sam Register got a promotion and his main objective is bringing back as much old school content as possible, Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry, Wabbit, Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10.
