Straw Hats: Sanji. He's just awful. Usopp would be next.
Warlords: Kuma. He's boring and stuff and I never cared for his design.
Traveling allies: Vivi. Haha Vivi. I don't really dislike her, but everyone else is so much more likable.
Villains: Krieg. I don't get the appeal. Also Hody.
Supernovas: Kid. Don't like his design or personality at all, I'll take Killer over him any day.
Marines: Kizaru. His face and personality annoy me.
He would kill all of them for some pussy.
XD no he wouldnt. even with the pretty ladies of the world he's a strawhat through and through and will come through for them.
thats what makes him awesome. while he wont fight a lady (but blocking is ok) he will still stand up to one, espically if she's going to hurt his crew. much like how sanji was attached to the baratie.
now give me ONE good reason as to why he's a bad character.
@FelRes:
Straw Hats: Sanji. He's just awful.
You too give me an explicit reason for what makes the ball of awesome, sanji an awful character.
Sanji's obsession with women can create a lot of angry threads, (not just this one. You know what thread I mean.) but however, I really don't think Sanji would betray his crew-members for women, if there ever is such a scenario. I can't see that happening when there are 2 hot women in the crew. He would probably choose Nami and/or Robin over whatever his enemy may offer him.

By the way, nice sig, RJ. Where did you get it?
Nico Robin. She is awful.
Shirahoshi.
Runner up - Caesar Clown.

It's from the live-action Punk Hazard commercial.
The Sanji at the end of the commercial made me smile.
This is how Sanji's supposed to be, and is. A cool guy who has a funny obsession for women.

I'll post someone else's reason that I read a bit ago.@Unrequited:
Still inclined to disagree. Being extremely devoted to something isn't enough to warrant being cool, at least not to me. If it were the case then I'd probably end up praising Hodi for his own unyielding convictions. A dilemma is certainly presented, but I don't believe it worthy of moral quandary in the first place so I'm not just going to take that for granted. If Sanji wants to die for something silly like that all on his own, then hey whatever. It'd still be dumb but that's his choice I guess. But that wasn't the case.
"I won't kick a woman, even if I die!" Yeah, well there was more than Sanji's life riding on that one there. "I won't kick a woman, even if Robin dies," sounded more like it to me. And I'd give the same scrutiny for any other person in the crew. If Nami were to choose hoarding her money over trying to buy Caimie back. Maybe Luffy letting some jobber knock his friends around because that person might make a really good sandwich. Zoro abandoning a crew member to go fight some random swordsman. All these funny quirks and mannerisms are fine as jokes, not when they'd actively interfere with serious situations. To me there's nothing respectable about it, at all.
While I agree with him, I wouldn't say Sanji is my least favorite character, because that doesn't bother me as much.
@A:
You too give me an explicit reason for what makes the ball of awesome, sanji an awful character.
I can't believe I'm responding
Sanji is horrible because:
-he's an annoying pervert. the pervert gimmick got amplified immediately after the timeskip to the point where they had a fucking nosebleed be a plot point. he was disrespectful of Nami's body in PH as well, and his obsession with girls gets pretty damn old.
-that awful facial hair needs to go, it makes him look douchey
-he's pretty useless these days, remember when he used to come save the day like in Alabasta, Skypiea, and Enies Lobby? now he just cooks and has some of the worst fights

Yeah, though I still like Sanji, or at least what he used to be before the timeskip, I'm in agreement with you on all of these points.
Some of the times when Sanji does that "noodly body thing" still make me laugh, though. Sure it's annoying, but yeah…
-that awful facial hair needs to go, it makes him look douchey
I quite enjoy his facial hair

While he is a pervert you can still see a smooth side to him. and come on, anybody can jst be a pervert. it takes some serious balls to, while getting your ass kicked, keep calm and get the woman who is doing the asskicking to not only cry, but to side with you. dude is a Bonified Badass for that. the nosebleed plot, while annoying a tad bit, did serve as a plotpoint, and can you seriously blame him for that? do you understand how much pent up sexual repression that man has had during the last 2 years?? showing a man cream himself on sight would be a bit too crass.
-he has a Goatee. nothing douchey about it. thats not a legit reason to hate anybody, nor is it a bad character trait
however you cannot say he has bad fights and not include Luffy and Zoro into the equation, because they have yet to show off anything. but hey if you want awesomeness check out his fight against binz. its not canon but should serve as a good template for what he can do, as it's written by Oda Himself.
Sanji is awesome, and will always be. the fact that you hate him makes him cry

How is she awful ???
according to most people "she has no personality"
nor does this make her bland. she is the smartest member of the crew, she is extremely resourceful, snd to top it off, she has an assassins wet-dream for powers. also come on she can pul full 6-arm submission holds lie a pro-wrestling boss, and clone herself. What's not to like about this woman?
Unfortunately, Oda didn't really learn much after being with Akira-san and Watsuki-san.
His poor planning of the series has led to a lot of aspects of OP, especially the characters, to become one dimensional. And with one dimensional characters, the only way they could go is down and that is what we have: with the exception of Franky (who I feel is the only SH that got better), the rest just dropped from what they were before. Some worse than others.
Luffy: still a complete and utter tool. It almost feels like he didn't learn shit from Rayleigh and the time skip was just used to cheaply give him new abilities.
Zoro: somehow he has become a feminists and he still gets lost despite being able to use kenbunshoku haki. His decadence is only slight despite of this.
Nami: became a slut/whore and the asspulls Oda keeps giving her are getting more and more ridiculous.
Usopp: still a sorry-ass coward; he is only confident of taking down a little girl.
Sanji: by far, the worse of the bunch. His womanizing became much worse and his feminism became twice as worse as the former. It is almost annoying watching this guy. This piece of shit flicked off the very same people that helped him get stronger, fed him, and give him a boat. Complete piece of shit.
Robin: almost no real contributions to the crew. She offers no real intelligence despite hanging out with the Revolutionaries for two years. It was obvious she knew what happened to Kuma but kept quiet about it to her crew. He only quality is going, "Fu, fu, fu!"
Brook: The only one who didn't get worse although he didn't get better…Yo, ho, ho, ho, ho!
The way things are going (which isn't great) I wouldn't be surprised if the anime gets canceled in a year or two. The manga should last, though.

Do you really think the manga could get canceled? Fear not.
@Devil:
Do you really think the manga could get canceled? Fear not.
You never know.
Believe it or not, the first anime series that was seriously considered to have the potential to be revolutionary was "Candy Candy". The fights and lawsuits among the producers brought everything to an abrupt end and Dragon Ball became the series that took its spot instead. Even now, any products from the series "Candy Candy" can't be sold legally anywhere due to the junctions the producers placed on each other.
It is a lot more common in Japan than you think. I wouldn't be surprised if Oda could be having issues with the executive producers as far as plot and rewards could go.
Frankly, Chapters 730 and 731 were completely out of Oda's norm. It isn't like him to introduce two characters out of the blue. Especially when he clearly stated in a SBS that Sabo was dead.

… One Piece out sold Dragon Ball.
From that we can clearly see it's on it's last legs.
Statistics don't lie.
And neither does the market.
Especially when he clearly stated in a SBS that Sabo was dead.
It wasn't in a SBS you dolt, it was in a databook that Oda don't write all content.
It's clear Oda thought Sabo's role in the story throughly. I think you mean Databook Blue Deep and not a SBS, and in any case it would be dull to confirm that he's alive in one of the Databooks.

Dragon Ball only ran for 10 years.
One Piece is 16 years and going. Frankly, if it weren't for the times OP wouldn't have sold half of those numbers. Put OP in DB's timeline and it wouldn't have sold 1/4 of what it has now. Put DB in OP's timeline and it would have sold 4 times more.
Especially considering that DB only had 325 Chapters to OP's 733 and going…
As of last February, DB has sold over 230 million copies during those 10 years it ran.
OP, on the other hand, has sold over 270 million copies in these 16 years and counting. It isn't hard to see who was by far the most successful.
Don't let a technological advances in media and marketting fool you.
It is quite evident that the story is stagnating. Punk Hazard and Dressrosa are just the more severe examples since it has been downhill from Thriller Bark till now.
It isn't hard to figure it out. The first 45 episodes of OP were literally one sob story after another. That, and the popularity that Shonen manga had (thanks to DB) during the 1990s was what caught the viewers.
Afterwards, the crew headed to the Grand Line to start their adventures. Nico Robin's inclusion to the crew, and the eventual revealing of her past, was one thing most viewers were wondering about.
It isn't surprising that after Enies Lobby OP has steadily sunk further and further as Oda and his EP started seeing the huge issues the plot had. The famous "Time Skip" and the heavy sexualization of female characters are prime evidence of a series trying to stay afloat.

There was also a crapload of evidence that Sabo was alive.

Lol I don't think you have any idea how popular One Piece is in Japan. One Piece is as popular in Japan as Harry Potter used to be in America (now replacing HP is the Hunger Games). The manga has sold over 345 million copies internationally, with 300 million alone in Japan. Not to mention, it has an entire store in Shibuya dedicated to it and also has little trinkets sold everywhere. It's like a boy version of Hello Kitty. The anime has been going on for almost 15 years. What makes you think it's going to all of a sudden get cancelled now? The anime won't stop running until it finishes along with the manga.

The biggest sell of volumes was in 2011. Reached more than 30 000 000 during that year alone.
And manga sells as a whole are in decline with the advent of scanlantions.
Also, if OP is selling badly, than every other series running in jump would have been canceled way before it, since it is undoubtebly the best selling series in Jump and in Japan at the moment.
It is clear that you don't understand the manga market and that you are making stuff up to validate your believe that One Piece is declining in quality.
Or you are just a really silly troll.
Take your pick.

The year 2011 was also the year the Straw Hats made it to the New World. Obviously, sells have fallen off drastically since the story wasn't as entertaining as everyone expected.
OP is still selling due to the loyal fans that have followed it since the beginning to about Thriller Bark. It really hasn't been getting a lot of fresh fans and the decline will be more apparent years to come.
Don't get me wrong: I like OP but anyone who has watched anime and read manga (I have been doing it since I was a kid) can easily where Oda screwed up and why.
I just got done watching DBZ: Battle of the Gods for the first time right now. To those who keep trying to claim that OP is up there with DB…just no. The Rookie Saga was a 3.5/5 at best. If OP is looking for a 4.5 (which it has all the potential to do so), the New World Saga needs to be incredible to make up for the bullshit of before. The Marineford War, and a lot of the inconsistencies that plagued it, brought it down a good point and change.
The manga is good, not excellent. But Oda has to do something about the anime. At the rate Toei is going, they are going to shit all over the Dressrosa Arc.

1. Sales of new volumes hadn't dropped much. Almost none at all. The drop is because less people were buying old volumes.
2. You have no way of telling if One Piece gains or doesn't gains new audience. Moreso, a massive spike in people buying old volumes, that we saw in 2010/2011/2012 would suggest new readers, since old fans would already own them.
3. Oda has no control over anime. It's entirely Toei doing. And he cannot do anything about it.
4. Since every medium is subjective, you cannot say for sure that Oda screw something. Considering your opinions, I'm going to guess you are going to be alone in most of your opinions where it comes to what Oda screwed up.

Your opinion is not the same as everyone else's. Stop treating your own assumptions as facts.
Darth does have a point with scanlations. I like how you ignore that.

This seems pretty biased, what basis do you have for stating that the story has declined since Thriller Bark? As far as I know Saboady Archipelago and Marineford were two arcs that had significant impact on the fandom and are held in high regard as some of the best arcs One Piece has to offer so far. Both of which came right after Thriller Bark.
The first half of the Grand Line was very much the story of how the Strawhat Pirates were formed and now the New World will more than likely be the story of how the Strawhat Pirates become world famous and achieve their goals.
The beginning of the first half of OP had fairly slow beginning arcs but very strong middle and ending arcs. The beginning of the OP's second half, the New World, is no different in that regard. Slow starting build-up arcs (PH and FI) but now look, Dressrosa has already set the bar higher than any other OP arc so far and it's only the third one in the second half. The focus of the story has shifted away from the origins and formation of the Strawhat crew and is now focused on the world around them and their rise to fame in the New World.
Now if you could please elaborate, what huge plot issues are you referring to? A majority of issues you have with the characters are entirely personal, are by no means factual, and they also have very little to do with the actual plot of OP.
King Riku is such a fucking loser.
Your opinion is not the same as everyone else's. Stop treating your own assumptions as facts.
Darth does have a point with scanlations. I like how you ignore that.
I also like how he completely ignored that he was wrong about the amount of One Piece sold.
But, honestly I think he just doesn't like OP. Bitching about Luffy and leaving Chopper out is a red flag to me.
His poor planning of the series
lol.
Luffy: Really now…...It's probably personal opinion. But Luffy isn't that stupid. He get's by with his friends. Do you like Dragon Ball? If so, I don't understand why the "new ability" is a problem. This arc, you'll see him being pushed to his limits, whether he fights Doflamingo or Diamante.
Zoro: The feminist thing is cultural. Or I'm wrong or whatever. Loled at "still getting lost. He get's lost because it's funny. It's a joke, and not important.
Nami: A slut, huh. This is funny because in her introduction, she rejects somebody. She a slut with standards. And what asspulls?
Sanji: by far, the worse of the bunch. His womanizing became much worse and his feminism became twice as worse as the former. It is almost annoying watching this guy. This piece of shit flicked off the very same people that helped him get stronger, fed him, and give him a boat. Complete piece of shit.
Robin: almost no real contributions to the crew. She offers no real intelligence despite hanging out with the Revolutionaries for two years. It was obvious she knew what happened to Kuma but kept quiet about it to her crew. He only quality is going, "Fu, fu, fu!"
He didn't "flick off" his crewmembers. He got distracted along the way. Just like Luf-wait you hate him too. Sanji will still listen to Luffy when he's needed (Big Mom Ship Scene)
Robin's just quiet. Her awesome quality is her secret imagination. What intelligence do you expect her to offer, anyway?
"Luffy, the revolutionaries are revolting"
Now that Sabo's here, and she's friends with Koala, there will be moments/exposition with Robin.
By the way, you like Sonic right?
walks in, looks at some past posts
Huh how did it go from "Least favorite character" to "why I think OP sux"?:wassat:
blah blah "hasn't been getting a lot of fresh fans " blah
…. Funking really?
I am not going to waste time posting and replying to some of these!

I really want to see Doflamingo stomp those dwarves, cause they are annoying.

He can't. He is too busy trying to prevent himself from being raped by Kaido.

Complete and utter trash…any one of the baboons, the red elephant in Rusukaina and the Kung Fu Dugongs would ROTFLOLstomp that useless bitch.
A prime example as to one of Oda's many flaws: recycling garbage.
A recently introduced character I hate is Senor Pink. That scene where he wiped his mouth with someone's bra made me want to place the tip of a drill on the opening of his penis and start running it there.

No, they wouldn't. She impressed Monet, and was ok to fight again minutes later after taking a hardening hit from Vergo. You keep criticizing Oda and you don't know what are you talking about. Didn't Akira recycle Chapa-o, Chi-Chi and Tao Pai Pai just for them being one shoted by Tien and Goku?

Monet is also utter garbage as well lol impressing that slut isn't a feat LMFAO get out of here with that!
She is just a tiny bit ahead of Tashigi but they are still both utter tools.
You are obviously just another fanboy with no objectivity so go ahead and forget that King Chapa was there to measure Goku's progression, Chichi was Goku's wife and Tao Pai Pai showed up again to close out Tenshinhan's back story.
Seriously, why do American-born people insist on destroying animes and mangas with ignorance and perceptions?

I'm not a fanboy. Chappa wasn't there to anything, he was already there to see Goku's progression on 22nd Budokai. He didn't have to be there on 23rd because he didn't even make Goku sweat just like in the previous tournament. Chi-chi didn't have to participate in the tournment and Tao Pai Pai didn't bring anything new on Tien's backstory. You keep talking about Dragon Ball but you don't even remember how the things happened in Dragon Ball. I love Dragon Ball, I'm just saying this because you criticze Oda by doing things that Akira has done too.
Dellinger disappointed me
The year 2011 was also the year the Straw Hats made it to the New World.
Have you ever read the Dragonball manga? Just wondering. Because I don't think you have.
In which case I don't think you even can talk about which is better.
After all you still have this cute idea where you think Oda (and Toriyama probably) controlled their anime.
As for a comparison, Dragonball is only better I think on just plain fun levels and clean clear illustration of the action.
You're trying to make an argument it has more character development, which is just about the dumbest thing I've ever heard someone claim lol.
Dragonball is pure combat and pure gag early on, it's really really fun and well executed in that sense (except for the Android/Cell crap). But that's all it is.
You only sell it short by over-selling it.
You're also the only person on earth who thinks Dressrosa is bad lol.
Battle of the Gods is incredibly fun and I loved it. I still don't get what some other longtime Dragonball fans have against it honestly, since it felt like real classic early stuff in tone, versus Saiyan Saga onwards.
Edit: Oh woops I misread his post haha, I thought he had the opposite opinion on it.
Off tobic but Battle of the gods was a huge letdown for me all the trailers and commercails made the film look epic and action packed but movie ended up being a comedy with some action scenes oh and the animation was horrible for a feature length film. It looked no better than an episode of the anime.

it's just a normal "i'm fast… no, i'm faster ... wrong, i'm faster..." routine.
