@maxterdexter:
Kristoph's motives were left to the black psylocks and the next game. That never came

Bad idea screwed further by what ultimately happened.
It's been years since I played the game, but if I recall correctly, wasn't his motive
! because he was upset that Zach/Shadi chose Phoenix over him due Phoenix's style of bluffing in poker (which also is his style in the courtroom) appealed to him (Zach/Shadi). It's a motive, just not a very good one.
@Dumhuvud:
Klavier in particular didn't really have any personality beyond the rock star gimmick
Never understood why everyone loved his rockstar gimmick in the first place. Although I did like Klavier as a prosecutor because he actually wanted the truth. Whereas Franziska wanted to just win, and Godot wanted "revenge".
The plot of AJ went pretty much nowhere and raised more questions than it answered. People often say that it's as good as the first game and that Capcom just didn't give it another chance, but I strongly disagree - the original worked very well even as a standalone game while still making you want more, and it had a gripping plot with a dynamic cast of characters. While all four cases in AJ:AA had at least a few brilliant moments, I feel that quality-wise they ranged from trainwrecks (4-3, 4-4) to just dull (4-2).
I think what frustrates me most about AJ is how it never felt like the story belonged to Apollo. It was essentially
! Phoenix's story, and his long set up to find out what happened in his court case and to get Kristoph found guilty. Especially misleading when Capcom spent such a long time promoting the game and it's new attorney.
But, what still amazes me is that I know some people who thought the "bad" ending is the true ending.

@Green_vs_Red:
Sounds a lot like a prequel to me
or it could be alternate reality shenanigans.
I can always rely on your "Well, technically…" posts.
