@Green_vs_Red:
Not liking something for legitimate reasons is "blind hate"?
You can hate it freely. However, claims that he is the worst character ever in Dragon Ball and similar claims when even the immediately previous movie villain is worse in pretty much every aspect just makes it clear to me that it's exaggerated or blind hate because it's not a fair conclusion, just a biased one.
We're not comparing the Androids in the series to the ones in the movie though we're comparing movie villains. Plus if we are talking about them the only one's that had any real personality were 8 & 16.
Even compared to just the movie villains they seem to be the weakest or one of the weakest in pretty much every aspect, with that movie also being the weakest or one of the weakest movies. And exactly why should we limit ourselves to just the movies instead of looking at the franchise as a whole…?
Not liking something for legitimate reasons then mentioning your preference for something is considering blind hate.
What are you talking about? I don't hate either movie 7 or movie 8 or any of it's characters, nor have I stated anything of the sort, I just said that, imo, it's clear that movie 8 and it's characters are superior.
So Brolly's outward disdain for Goku exists for what other reason?
I explained why. You commented before reading all of what I said.
If it we're as clear as you just said no one would ever sum up Brolly as being a shallow character with nothing else going for him but his monstrous strength who personally hates Goku for a pretty petty reason.
Like I said, to me, it's clear. For other people, apparently it's not. Many seem to need everything spelled out for them in order for them to not assume things like "broly went mad and hates Goku because he heard him crying", instead of actually thinking about the intent of the movie and its scenes, what they were trying to transmit by saying that Goku was way weaker than Broly as a baby but still made him cry, why they repeated that flashback as Goku was defeating Broly, and so on.
If fans actually thought a little about it they would probably also reach the conclusion, like I did, that their intent was to include the message that Goku, who was born on exactly the same day as the legendary saiyan despite being massively weaker (like they went out of their way to tell us), is someone who can impose himself over Broly despite the massive power difference, making him a rival for Broly, which is something Broly feels in his savage instinct. In short, the message is that Goku finds a way to win, despite being way weaker and despite Broly being the legendary saiyan… it doesn't really matter all the disadvantages that he has compared to Broly, Goku will win because of who he is.
Well that's if you consider the movies and therefore Brolly's appearance canon…...which most of us don't.
What? I'm talking about what the message of the movie (movie 8) seems to be, in which Broly exists and interacts with Goku. That movie being canon or not for the rest of the franchise has absolutely no relevance for what I'm saying.
If that's what the writers intended maybe the should've actually had put all of that into Brolly's character instead of having Paragus be the mouthpiece and Brolly basically be mindless muscle who spends most of the movie being angry and sour in part because of his father putting him on a leash.
Broly is the embodiment of the saiyan savage nature while in his legendary state, so it only makes sense for him to act like he does, and yet he still talks more and interacts more with other characters in other ways besides fighting than characters like Janemba who nobody ever critizes based on those grounds or Super 13. Also, I fail to see why the movie would be superior if they spelled out everything for the viewer, instead of their more subtle and intelligent approach regarding what they were trying to say. It's exactly because this movie is a little more subtle and more developed regarding those parts that it stands out from the others positively.
