It was goofball rookie Zack anyway, not the older, more serious version whose personality Cloud transplanted on himself.
Kingdom Hearts 3

I wonder how KH Zack is related to KH Cloud and KH Sephiroth.

I wonder how KH Zack is related to KH Cloud and KH Sephiroth.
Well its implied he meets Sephiorth at the end of BBS when someone teleports in behind him through darkness.
-
You already know it's going to be Lightning.
We've had edgy Advent children Cloud in KH1, Black hair Crisis Core 'Cloud' with Birth by sleep. Now we will get Female 'Cloud' in KH3.
Hey, at the rate they're going, maybe it'll be the hero from FFXV.
-
One more Cloud then :ninja:
-
i think this should clear up the previous rumor: http://kh13.com/news/new-information-from-ruliweb-interview-with-tetsuya-nomura-maps-from-previous-kingdom-hearts-games-will-not-appear-in-kingdom-hearts-iii
-
Shit, we didn't explore Agrabah's palace yet.
EDIT:
Apparently real life master Xehanort is the producer of 3 disney movies:
Tangled, Big Hero 6 and….Treasure Planet. -
Treasure Planet? Fuck no.
-
-
I love this movie. I it watch whenever it's on TV. Unlike most disneys.
-
Treasure Planet was awesome tho
If only a few million more people held that same opinion Disney might not have had to write it off as flop.
-
Treasure Planet would lend itself great to a KH style world; It would certainly be easy to make distinct "maps" for.
-
Treasure Planet was an average movie but would make for a fantastic KH world. As gorgeous as places like Tangland are it's the weird and outlandish places that really stick in people's heads.
-
If they can somehow make it the story of the movie appear in the game, but somehow make Sora having Jim's role and have Silver as party member and boss, I would welcome it.
-
Why am I only now learning Disney did a Spelljammer movie?
-
Why am I only now learning Disney did a Spelljammer movie?
googles it
I have to admit it, the resemblance is pretty uncanny. -
If we're going to do movies that are less than huge successes, I'd rather do Atlantis. Or Emperor's New Groove.
-
While I love Emperor's new groove, both Atlantis and Treasure Planet have the more interesting sights and worlds. Emperor's niche is already filled with the olympus of nice mountains and old ruins, and the plot is too un-KH, I'd feel bad for Izma if she tried to use the heartless.
-
I want a world that has a character like Kronk.
-
Atlantis might be ok. Emperor's New Groove is a really fun movie but will probably translate into a mediocre world. Pacha's Hill/Valley area, a Jungle area or two, and the palace with Yzma drinking a dragon or chupacabra potion as the boss fight. They could make it a bit more interesting by expanding the rollercoaster to Yzma's lair or letting you fight on the giant palace facade but overall I doubt it would be that memorable.
Ok, a flowmotion fight all over a giant golden Kuzco face would be kinda cool.
-
Emperor's New Groove would be a bunch of cool Andean shit that's clearly visually distinct from Hercules's world. For plot, you can try to adapt parts of the original concept for the film before it got overhauled into what it is.
Also maybe we can finally retire Olympus.
-
Even Pete can control heartless. Izma rules.
I think there is more than enough content to make Kuzcotopia. However, more successful movies are already waiting in line.
Atlantide and Treasure Planet would be amazing but they seem out of reach for the same reason.
Somehow I think that Pocahontas is more likely. I like this movie, but I'd rather fight the leviathan than western Shan Yu. -

Exactly. And imagine the music sets for the world. Tom Jones in Kingdom Hearts!
-
If we're talking pure Kingdom-Hearts World Pipe dreams, then sign me up for Ducktales: The Movie world. Scorpion Den! Scrooges Mansion! Snowy resort! Money bin high-tech security break in! Showdown with shapeshifting Merlock in twisted moneybin lair!
And as always, Square, just let me fight Ratigan on the Big Ben. Please.
Hunchback and Tron got in of all things, so I still have a sliver of hope
-
It's still kind of baffling that Winnie the Pooh made it in (in the first game no less)
But yeah, I'm all about the more obscure/less popular Disney titles.
-
Treasure Planet has great visuals and lends itself to this sort of game, regardless of how much Martin SHort ruined it. Silver as a party member would be great, but I can't imagine him being used as anything but a villain. How nuanced his character is might just keep him out.
As for ENG, be neat, but since Eartha Kitt died, I'd rater not have Yzma used. Yes, I know voice actors can be replaced and imitated very well and Jim Cummings is half the WInnie the Pooh cast now, and its a requisite for properties that last decades, but… I dunno. I'd rather her legacy be her legacy in this case. As much fun as Kronk is.
Ichabod or Mr. Toad would be fun. Racing scenes or whatnot. Toad Hall with its secret passages has a lot of potential as an explorable level; the Headless Horseman would make a fantastic world villain.
It was a huge flop that Disney tries to bury so it'll never ever happen, but Black Cauldron is ideal for KH. Great villain and a magical device perfectly suited to the plot.
As for dream KH locations, I'd love Robin Hood... or a bunch of the Disney Afternoon stuff. I'd imagine Ducktales would have the best chance due to it being super big internationally and being the only one to get a movie, but.. Recue Rangers (or Rescuers) could be a lot of fun with the size and scale aspect.... ANd some Darkwing Duck or Talespin or Gargoyles would be amazing.
Goof Troop or Goofy Movie would be... confusing. Given Goofy and all. But hey, fighting Heartless at a Powerline concert and inserting the Perfect Cast into Goofy's moveset would be fun. But will never happen given Goofy and Pete's places in the KH universe.

Well, the KHverse already has several types of doppelgangers, clones, and as of Dream Drop Distance [hide]Time Travel[/hide], so they could always introduce parrallel universes into the mix. Of course, you just know we'd then get a Zora, Zehanort, and Riku Only With Slightly Different Hair
-
There are two Petes in the Timeless River too.
-
In fact, screw Kingdom Hearts. Just give me a Disney Afternoon game.
-
You are just mad because Toothless will never be in those games.
-
Not wanna judge Robby, but he is kinda sounding like an old-timer.
-
Well after so many years waiting for this game, boredom tends to prevail over hype.
with that said, it will probably be the best thing ever. -
You are just mad because Toothless will never be in those games.
We got Stitch. It's basically the same thing.
What does the DIsney Afternoon have to do with HTTYD?
Not wanna judge Robby, but he is kinda sounding like an old-timer.
Disney Afternoon was great.
It will never be in Kingdom Hearts.
SO lets gets a DA game.
Or Gargoyles. WHichever.

Hunchback wasn't in a main game, and I think it was only used (as much as I love it) because it was part of the Renaissance. Tron? I have no idea why they used Tron.
Robin Hood and Great Mouse Detective are my dreams. Just let it happen.
It's still kind of baffling that Winnie the Pooh made it in (in the first game no less)

Of course they used Winnie the Pooh. It's one of their biggest franchises.

Tron was presumably selected as a world with unique designs, but cross-promotional work for Tron Legacy might have been a factor too.
Hunchback was in 3D, which also featured less popular titles like the Three Mouseketeers and Fantasia. I think the developers were looking for the opportunity to test a few of the smaller franchises and Hunchback made the cut based on the Renaissance and its somewhat-known property.
-

Yeah, but isn't it only popular with, like, really little kids?
I just never thought you could promote Final Fantasy and Winnie the Pooh to the same demographic.
-
To be fair, the Pooh secions were completely violence free and disconnected from the rest of the game pretty much.
-
Yeah, but isn't it only popular with, like, really little kids?

I'd say Winnie the Pooh is big enough and old enough that everyone must have liked it at some point in their lives
-

In the same way a lot of us liked Sesame Street or Thomas the Tank Engine. Yeah, some of us remember them fondly. Others (especially teens and pre-teens) "grow out of it" and can be really turned off by them.
I'm just saying, it seems odd to put Winnie the Pooh in a game aimed at tweens and up. I'm not complaining per se, it's just an interesting risk they decided to take, but I guess it paid off for the most part. Though I did once tell a friend in high school who hadn't played KH that Winnie the Pooh was in it, and he was immediately dismissive of it.
-
Kingdom Hearts is made by a Japanese company, primarily for a Japanese audience. This is obvious based on the fact that they get stuff we don't, like the "Final Mix" versions being Japan exclusive until the HD remasters.
It's possible Pooh is more popular with the older demo in Japan, which would make sense since the whole Pooh brand has what Japan likes. Really cute characters.
-
Nearly all Millennials (and Gen-Xers for that matter) grew up with Winnie the Pooh. I certainly did. And they made it work by making it a special world full of mini-games, rather than a place with a boss fight. I mean, who could actually be a boss fight in the Pooh world? And don't say the Backson.
-
Winnie the Pooh has huge nostalgic value and thus can be enjoyed by all ages. Old timers read the books, then older adults watched the '70s Disney movie and millenials watched the cartoon. There's a reason why the trailer for the most recent Pooh movie was entirely based on that feeling of nostalgia with Keane's Somewhere Only We Know and all.

I'd like to see Neverland again.
The size of the world was ridiculous in KH1. And it doesn't follow the movies at all in BBS.
I'd like to explore the whole island and its mysteries. -
I loved the Pooh segments. The music just makes you so calm and relaxed, plus it's nearly made me tear up….I've burned a few hours playing the minigames in I and II (spell upgrades and stuff for Ulimate Weapon, you know).
I'd like to see it again, as your usual break from the story and fighting segments.

I'd like to explore the whole island and its mysteries.I liked that 358/2 Days and BBS showed more of the world, after KH2 didn't bring it back >_>
And while Hook's ship was super small and annoying to navigate, the music set the mood:
[hide]
Sora and company have no idea where they are (Hook apparently attached rockets for teh space travel, he did attack their ship), and Peter's not really giving a lot of answers because he's focusing on saving Wendy. Also fits the "goddamn why is there no map or more subtitled rooms" feeling.
Chaotic pirate-y battles! The cramped quarters of the ship add to the fun (and bad camera) angles. Throw in the flying and Sora's partners all attacking, and you'll have a shanty of a timesorry for the punFinally….
Hands down, one of my top five tracks for the game. It's magical, it's beautiful…it evokes all of these emotions at once, as you finally get to fly around the clock tower and marvel at thelimitedsights. Like Wendy and her brothers in the movie, Sora's eager and amazed that he's flying. Hell, he couldn't wait to tell Kairi about it!
[/hide] -
If Neverland came back I want to follow the sequel because I loved that Octopus.
-
No. No follow the sequel. Octopus is fine and all but there is no replacing the Crocodile.
-
Yep, heard about this. Obligatory grain of salt.
Naturally we have to make more pit stops before Kingdom Hearts 3. Yikes….it was only a few years between 1 and 2, but it'll be over 10 between 2 and 3. I feel old.....
-
In this gap we had 352/2 Days, Birth By Sleep, Some HD ports and Dream Drop Distance so it was kind of a long walk.
