I feel like since Kaido is like a giant he is capable of living hundreds of years so has clashed with Yonkos of the past. He probably tries to commit suicide by fighting a Yonko's whole crew by himself and he loses that way because he wouldn't lose if it was just a one on one.

Whatever You say… Seems like shining moments are just opinions. I think most of the side character got more shining as Franky with his cheesy fight and Usopp running away like a pussy and later using a comedy attack to knock out sugar. Only the CoO awakening was nice.

I understand Kishido, i'm not a fanboy of Sanji but the treatment of the Straw Hats is not that good since the timeskip imo.
I think Kaidou wants to go out in a fancy and for him worthy way, like in a war that destroys the whole world for example.
Him jumping from 10000 meters also seems to be a way not many have gone before^^
So him just jumping into the sea or eating another DF (i have no doubt he is a DF user) wouldn´t be satisfying at all for him, so no option.
He wants to die in a honorable way and all other suicide attempts are like said merely hobbys for him to have at least some thrill and to test his limitless limits.

Hakuba in chains was hilarious.. Also found it interesting that it was said that you'd have to create an alliance just to get past all the enemies guarding an emperor, yet Kaido is running off on his own. Kaido is probably going to be incredibly unpredictable because of what personality oda has shown us so far, it'd be very interesting if Kaido ran off and faced SH + Law just to see if he could die, Luffy and Law impressing him enough that he doesn't kill them like garbage then leave which would show the power gap that exists. That's probably why oda has him falling on the island Apoo, Hawkins and Kidd, to showcase Kaido's strength.
I have no idea how Moria was supposed to be able to fight on par with Kaido, I guess him saying he wouldn't have lost if his crew mates were already undead was conceited, unless he had crew members stronger than himself. Then again he might have been strong back in the day and just lost most of it from laziness / lack of will. It could easily just be that there wouldn't be any pain of loss involved with losing someone who is already dead and to fight Kaido you'd need a massive undead army since so many would fall to the strongest creature.
Im wondering if Moria might help out Luffy deal with Kaido. Was he creating an undead army to go after Kaido? (I forgot most of Thriller Bark lol). He might still want revenge against him. He has to show up sooner or later.
I really want to see a motivated/in shape Moria. Each Warlord that Luffy defeated might help out a bit like Croc did. I can see Doffy coming back if Luffy ever storms Marielos(sp?)
The mangapanda translation was bad but mangastream isn't that much better to me. They take too many liberties that they just overwrite some underlying aspects, taking out the spirit of the manga in the process. Their translations are messy than their usual work for this chapter too.. and for one, I'd like to know if Urouge said "Amen" but I guess I'll have to wait for the raw.
The chapter itself was great. When the narration was describing Kaido, the numbers itself was what stood out for me. He may have a tough body, he may be unusually.. lucky (hmm) or both but the will to kill yourself, that's pretty.. unique. Not only that but the fear it causes towards others that results from the multiple failed attemps of suicide and feats of invulnerability makes his presence and name alone so much more impressive. That's some Haki. That said, it feels like there's more to it since it seems like it just became his hobby now.
As for the eventual future nakama discussion, I'm still waiting for the beautiful swordswoman/warrior who will bring meat but the woman this chapter has filled the first few "requirements" - unique enough face (Shyarly/Monet base if I recall), a (seemingly) shady character/enemy and introduced at a higher angle lol. I won't be fooled though! I'll reserve my judgements.
Lastly it is amusing that the story is seemingly heading towards an arc that, as I suspected is of the "Animal realm". So we'll see if being "simple", "driven by instinct" and "brutality" will be part of the theme/traits. Logically, the next arc/island would either Asura or Human (depending which branch Oda is following). Asura realm does seem to fit Wano though - open arrogance, not to mention Zoro's development. As for Human realm.. hard to say as it can fit many different conditions, could be Kaido's arc? Elbaf? Reverie? Though in the time frame and progression, the most probable is Kaido. Which I can honestly see happening due to Chopper's balance towards Humanity and his dream towards being a doctor that wants to "cure every disease" in which his past and development so far in the story has told us includes those who have lost their spirit and possible will to carry on (Cindry, Mocha). So heh.
He sounds practically immortal. Given how open this is, we really could go any direction with his character.
I'm open to him being extremely old due to a fruit he has obtained, which is not impossible considering what we know of both laws df and brooks situation. Maybe that's why he seems to enjoy the idea of dying, which ties in with the curse of living forever.
At least that way we could learn more from him and the OP world in general during his flashback.
Whatever happens, I expect the hype behind him to grow and surpass newgates.

Oda has no eXcuse not to show a flashback with SH vs Big mom pirates, Tamago, Pekoms, even teased us with Capone a few chapters ago joining the party.
You can't just waste chapters with non important things and then the biggest fight Sanji, Nami, Broo, Chopper ever had, the first SH encounter with one of the yonkous can be 'skipped' and pretend it didn't happen.
Oda has some serious shit to explain in the next chapters.

Oda is never consistent of how he draws the scale of things. Kaidou looks big and massive because Oda thought it look cool. Or something.

Kaido should have known he was not going to die from that jump; otherwise he wouldn't be talking about going to a war once he stood up.
But now that a yonkou is moving. So despite Doffy was beaten, which was the initial objective of Law's plan, Law's actions do manage to turn the new world into a chaos. Such a nice turn of events.
Now given that he does want to commit suicide, and also that he envies Whitebeard for managing to get a site where to die, most likely Kaido wants to go to a war only to be killed, as it happened to WB.
But we know Kaido tried to attack WB before Marineford war. Why he did that? Is it that he was planning on going on berseck mode against the marine, and WB actions to rescue Ace interfere with his plan?…
Because, if he is going now into a war, who is he battling in this war? The marine?

Damn, this chapter is hyping me more than any other in the last few years.
I'm pretty glad Kidou seem regular lookin, ALA Whitebeard Giant like. It'll be interesting to learn his backstory and his ability.
Also, whats his fascination with Zoans?? I wonder if he has some kind taming affinity for beast, so it'll be logical for him to be surrounded by beast like subjects?

Kishido are you ever a glass half full kind of guy at any time? Are you not at the very least happy that Jinbe didn't have to come to the rescue of dying Swirly Hats? Aren't you glad they got out of that mess seemingly unharmed? You've been reading this story for so long you should be able to see that we will get some sort of flash back on their adventure. We've basically been put right in the middle of a chaotic situation where characters are talking about situations and people that we have no knowledge of, of course we'll get some exposition focusing on these events.

Kaido looks so menacing. Love his design and his character quirk. He definitely lived up to my image of him. Stuff is definitely about to happen and I am very excited. It's nice to have a change of scenery.
