Black Panther actor has been chosen and is appearing in Civil War, Luke Cage is not a "recent hero" and is getting a series all for himself plus cameoing in his Wife series and probably Iron Fist also since they are best friends, War Machine and Falcon are avengers right now and Falcon will probably be turned into Captain America falcon eventually if they are sidekicks Black Widow and Hawkeye are also sidekicks, fox movies suck I'm pointing out she was there, other characters didn't do shit either it wasn't just her.
I'm not saying you guys are competing for anything, I said you guys at this point have no reason to complain imo, hope for new stuff is cool but like I said why not hope for established cool black heroes to appear instead of "turn this random hero into a black guy" it just doesn't make any sense for me, I don't see what that does for comic book fans when you guys read the freaking source material, that might do something for the casuals that don't read the comics but I don't get actual comic book fans asking for their heroes to gender changed or race changed…as a comics fan I want to see what is in the books come to life in a movie.
@Insider2000:
Because that's what the biggest buzz was for the movie for a while. People were pissed that Human Torch were cast as black. Considering how much people don't even care about this movie, this movie is most likely going to be a forgotten mistake, but the one thing that will be remember more than anything else was the casting of Johnny Storm. People hated the casting choice before the movie came out, people are hating the casting choice now. People will hate it in the future.
Why do you think we haven't gotten a single female superhero film in almost a decade? God knows we have that leaked email of Marvel's where they talk about how afraid they are of making a super heroine film, because Catwoman, Supergirl, and Elektra tanked in the box office. Nevermind the fact that all three of those films are bad by their own merits, but instead, let's blame the fact that they had female protagonists.
Why would my wishes for 'people not to blame Michael Jordan's Johnny Storm for F4 being awful' equivocate to me not caring about any of those heroes?
'Whining'. Stay classy.
I'm not speaking out of Marvel's 'representation'. Marvel has had some pretty good black representation over the years. Blade, and soon enough, Black Panther will be the only Marvel hero titles focusing on black heroes. And yes, there needs to be more focus on Asian and female heroes in this franchise. Wider representation would be wonderful. But my statement isn't about Marvel's representation.
My statement is that 'It is possible that the some of the blame for F4's failure could be placed on the casting of Johnny Storm, and that fucking sucks'. And maybe that won't effect Marvel Studios, but it can effect film casting as a whole.
Yes because that all we knew the casting, with time we saw that the actual movie sucked.
Yeah and I agree thats dumb on Marvel part but they are now at least trying to correct that with the Captain Marvel movie, I don't really have much to add to that you are right.
Because if someone does that its a fucking dumb argument and you should just ignore it, if someone tells me "hey that movie sucked, the plot was great, the characters were great but the main character was "x" so I hated it", its an idiotic argument and you shouldn't pay attention to it.
I call constant complaining about the same thing whining, didn't know it wasn't "classy" I though it was a word but I am not a native English speaker maybe I didn't express myself right, lets call it over complaining.
Again if thats public opinion there, I just find it idiotic, if you want to blame anyone blame the writers and the producers not an actor(unless he is the main character and does a shitty job)…
At the end of the day I don't live in the US and maybe I don't get some of those things, I don't mean in any way to be offensive but I just find some of this things idiotic and not worth discussing.
