Had Fujitora destroyed the Birdcage while Doula was still conscious, people would have started to call the HQ for help, thus the whole thing gets reported and covered up. Same thing if Fuji had just defeated Doula by himself, as people were witnessing the whole fight and would report that Fuji had saved the day.
The Birdcage being able to be destroyed or not, in the end, is irrelevant for Fujitora. The blocked communications actually helped him.
Really, the only way for Fuji to not get any credit whatsoever was for him to stay out of the fight and let somebody else do it. It was a gamble, a very risky and questionable one, but in the end, it will really pay off and benefit everybody (but the warlords).
And I'm not really trying to make up an excuse as that is exactly what being implied in the first and second-to-last pages of the chapter.
Yup. I don't get why people can't understand it. The last chapter said it as much, Akainu literally said that. Even if it wasn't a cover up, it shows that the WG saved a country and that isn't necessarily what fujitora wanted.
I know he said he's willing to save innocent lives..etc but he is also willing to sacrifice the few for the needs of the many (imo). He wants a change in the way the entire world works, a change in the system. I think wagering Luffy's win just so he can prostrate himself and make a point, was his most effective opition.

Considering who we just saw last chapter that seems like a lot more to ask even though i would love to see there reactions i highly doubt we will get all of them if any. I do really want to see Shanks, Rayleigh and Dragon but the rest i could live without.

Whatever he choses to do next, it's definitely too early to take him out of the picture. I would much rather imagine him roaming the sea in an "active search" for Law & Luffy, while what he would really be doing is further his own agenda. Akainu didn't exactly revoke his authority so he might retain some pull and his soldiers - in a way this punitive assignment does give him some freedom.

A) It's Akainu, not Aokiji.
B) The end sign is not on the very last page in a bunch of chapters, especially when the "last" page is a double spread etc. Oda puts it where he wants to put it. So how is that related to the scanlators? I don't understand what you are impliying here.

It's what makes him so tanky.

Tank- in a party is often the distraction or meat shield. Typically a character with high health, and/or defense and stamina. Very tough and can endure alot of damage.
And yes, Doflamingo is DEFINITELY a tank. Alot of people would have fallen or died many times over but Doflamingo did not.

Zoro's turn to shine? He got that like 3 times in Dressrosa alone. I'm a pretty big Zoro fan but even that statemeny seemed sorta funny. Like he did nothing nothing crazy like effectively cut a mountain in half while being thrown a hundred miles an hour. But I do agree that he's the best candidate to at least prevent Fuji from getting to Luffy. But I doubt it'll actually be an uninterrupted fight that show cases anything.

So Zoro was able to get out of Fujitora's gravity hole and even attack him at the same time, but Sanji was helpless in DD's strings.
Zoro saved his face with admiral, but Sanji gets his legs cracked by a vice admiral( hype tool marine rank of the NW). Was there ever someone that looked bad in One Piece agains't a vice freaking admiral? All the ones I remember got trashed or looked bad.

And it's not just Sanji here, Smoker's treatment after the time skip is poor too. After 2 years we see Smoker get defeated 3 times in the same arc. And the guy could be Luffy's main marine rival.

All of that said, Smoker has ALWAYS sucked. It's not just a timeskip thing. Whether for plot convenience or not, Smoker has never won an onscreen fight. Ever. And he almost always ends up letting Luffy get away. Smoker isn't effective at all with catching Luffy and I'm beginning to wonder if he secretly even wants to at all anymore. His only true shining moment imo was Loguetown. That's it.

The problem is that this is par for the course with One Piece. Characters have incredible toughness. What Doula did was standard for most arc villains, relatively speaking.
Also, saying that he took near to no damage from Red Hawk and stuff is wrong, as his facial reactions showed. Red Hawk and Injection Shot made him internally bleed (an usual sign of an effective attack) while Gamma Knife almost killed him. Also, all moves from Gear 4th affected him.
Doula actually dodged and blocked most attacks directed at him. He never actually tried to take attacks head on as seen by the several Spider Webs and Off Whites he summoned + Haki. This is why Gear 4th was too effective as it could overwhelm his defenses.
This reminds me of when somebody said Crocodile was a tank because he survived an attack from Jozu.

I think Fujitora will warn the Strawhats in passing to leave the island before he gets at them. So maybe, a head start as a favour or he actually leaves the island and warns them he won't let them off next time, coz they are still pirates to him.

Now to tank Luffy's gear 4 attacks is probably impossible for anyone in the OP universe. There's too much power to it.
I liked doffy's acrobatic style. The one flip kick he uses on Law on the bridge was super dirty. very cool stuff. His devil fruit looked pretty crazy but I did not like string clones. Those were fucking Naruto and they were hokey.
Also about Sanji, it's possible Oda wants to actually place him up to Supernova level by bringing in Capone. We are probably going to see Sanji defeat Capone at least, and not Pekoms & Co. So I guess Oda redeems Sanji by causing a stir by making him beat up Capone.

Sanji should at least be strong enough to fight Pekoms. The guy's a fighter that uses haki with a turtle defense. Capone's a different story. If you're not aware of his df powers, you'll end up shrinking within his sphere.
So now that the birdcage has fallen and considering how fast the news got out of Dressrosa, I think at the end of the next chapter we'll get a message from the Swirlyhats (send help or infodump) or the people that hold them imprisoned (demanding ransom).

Oh I see what you mean. You wanted him to have a tough fight, not wow the crowds with ease. I think I'm probably one of the few that hasn't minded it being a cake walk for him up to this point. Yes I want some actual opponents that are a challenge but I'm also basically pleased with how strong he did get. I found the Monet and Pica fights to have a fairly good pay off. Not the Fishman Island stuff though. But eh, that arc had a bunch of stuff I didn't care for.

I think that option shrinked after this chapter. If Kid was going after Big Mom, then you could say he would be the one to take her down and Luffy will just go after Kaido. But now, Big mom should be Luffy's enemy since there's no other supernova gang to go after her.

Can't wait for the Hawkins alliance to smack shanks like L and L did to kaido, and i suspect Big mom. If Lola card has any use, it will serve as the compass for the strawhats to go kick Big mom A..... all over the new world. If Big Mom has any relation to that useless character.... why do people talk as if Captain Kid is the only person after Shanks? Jimbei being in Luffy's way was the only reason they fought on FI.
Franky in Chopper's body happened on Punk Hazard. He was in the way and couldn't be reasoned with so he got knocked out.
