Hey whats up guys?
I haven't watched the anime in quite some time so i was catching up on the latest episodes recently and i realized that at whitebeard and ace's funeral those were the only two graves, does that mean of all the whitebeard pirates and those new world pirates only 2 died? I know it would be inconvenient to drag the corpses of hundreds of your brothers back to the new world but it feels kind of odd to me.
Also in the latest manga chapter Nami used an attack called "Black Hole" isn't that Blackbeards move?

Yosh OPP crew, long time no write. Twofer question for ya.
1. Is there a slight possibilty that Shirley's prediction could be off. Her vision show that Luffy is in a completely breatheable area and considering Hody making such a big deal about the Fishman District and its chances it could survive the initial colony drop coming. Could it be possible that the destruction wasn't really meant for the island but that area of it?
2: Speaking of the Fishman District. Do you think his plan isn't just domination of humans but to have that section of the island be the dominate force of the island. Think about it; his comments last chapter seem to show he has a low opinion of mer-people, the island is ruled by such, it would give him a secondary reason to assassinate Otohime, he was quick to nearly kill Shirley over her prediction despite knowing her reputation and most of all they resemble humans. Granted it could be just him being a evil prick, but its food for thought.

I don't see what the big deal is. They had a guest on who gave some nice input and what not and would help benefit. I mean I would come on if asked but I wouldn't have anything to say that wouldn't already be said. But whatever, Toriko Podcast is enough for me.

I WAS on the show for a little while, and I enjoyed the hell out of it. If they ever wanted me back for any reason (I could see them asking for an anniversary episode just because I WAS on at one point) then I'd absolutely jump at the chance. I had a blast, and the guys are just as cool behind the scenes as they are on the air.
So if they got Alina on the show, why rain on that parade? Seems kinda unnecessary lol.
Also guys, people are getting REALLY hyped about this mysterious countdown you guys have, especially because FUNi are helping you guys promote it. People are thinking this might be something huge and FUNi related like a license announcement or a TV broadcast announcement. If none of that is the case, I'd highly recommend coming out and shooting down theories like that, or some people are gonna be majorly disappointed.

Why are we discussing this here.

Hey guys, so in volume 64 we got to see Urouge-san as a kid (exciting right?)! anyway he looked like a skypiean to me and judging by the age he looks that must mean that he meet the roger pirates when they came to skypiea all those years ago, right?
Also now that Wadatsumi got so blown up i think sanji's gonna kick him up at Noah and deflect the debree away from fishman island or something like that, it could work right? -
Hello OPP, haven't asked you guys a question in a long time. Was Wadatsumi's current speech style a result of Luffy punching out his tooth, or does he always talk like that since he was introduced?
Is the Greg no Gougai Inspirations over? If so, do you plan on continuing it, since there's many, many characters that haven't been covered.
-
Hello! :) I have a Christmas question/plea! Will you guys sing Jingle Bell (OP version) in the Christmas special? :D Come on! Come oooon! How can you say no to this avatar? A team effort! If so, I'll personally Paintshop a Christmas hat on whatever you want.
-
I has a question: Seeing Urouge as a kid makes me question could he be a sky race that melds the Skypians, Bilkans, AND Shadians (or could be from an ancient race taht all three came from)?! He has Sypkian Antennas, the tattoos and skin tone of a Shandian, and wings of a Bilkan

Aokiji for nakama?

Hey guys.
Heard the last episode about the arc and, while I normally sit out on opinons, I wanna get in on this and give my quick two cents on it. If you'll let me.
From the top
-
Romance Dawn Arc (A.K.A Captain Morgan Arc): Good start, mostly focused on building up the characters and introducing what the audience is in for in the series.
-
Buggy Arc: First Arc that introduced me to One Piece. Very fun, a top favorite of mine
-
Kuro Arc: I'm with Zack was a rather boring read following it in Shonen Jump, but re-reads won me over.
-
Baraite Arc: I didn't mind it, Mihawk section was the most interesting thing though I like the broken ship battleground
-
Arlong Arc: Indeed the arc that defined One Piece. Great build up and drama that really shows that the Straw Hats aren't some rinky dink pirate crew.
-
Rouge Town Arc: Good transition arc, thought the anime did it better since it covered the stories that Oda passed over for his 100 chapter deadline with a much more satifying climax and finale.
-
Laboon Arc: Exposition chapter but not without it's laughs.
-
Whiskey Peak Arc: Or the "Zoro Goes On a Ramapage" arc. The surprise of two of the agents beings royalty was a nice curve ball and set up for the much bigger picture ahead.
-
Little Garden Arc: Not bad, had its great share of tense moments.
-
Drum Island Arc: Love this one for the fairy tale like feel of it. Chopper definetly earn his place in the crew here.
-
Alabasta Arc: A satisfying conclusion to the Barqoue Works Saga. A nice build up leading to a great epic showdown.
-
Jaya Arc: Another fun exposition arc, we see the beginning of a background story unfold, learn more about the One Piece world and see a cocky ass pirate get taken down.
-
Skypiea Arc: A little long and the mini-boss squad were rather dull but a good treasure hunt arc nonetheless.
-
Davy Back Fight Arc: Another fun arc, I liked the final battle between Luffy and Foxy.
-
Water 7 Arc: Shows that Oda can get truely serious when he wants to be. Was interesting seeing the internal debate within the crew and the fact they have to make tough choices down the road.
-
Enies Lobby Arc: A great "raid the stronghold" story though the Luffy vs Lucci fight could've been shorter
-
Return to Water 7 Arc: Great follow up. Seeing the Merry Go was tough to read. But of course lighten by the fact of the Garp's relation to Luffy, the Sunny Go and Franky's joining. Course the highlight for me was the maturity of the SH crew and Ussop apologizing.
-
Thriller Bark Arc: Strong beginning, slow middle, great finish with the battle with Oars. Quite sneaky of Oda to tie the Laboon arc to this one.
-
Sabody Arc: This one hard to describe. It's alright, we get more insight to the world and some figures from the past. But the supernovas kinda threw it all over the place to me. I liked the sudden outcome of the SH losing after being a mostly cheerful story though.
-
Amazon Lily: I actully like this one, its not often we see Luffy on his own outside of fights, so it was nice to see he had some survival skills. We also get more insight into the world nobles and Fisher Tiger. And I like Marigold and Sandersonia's devil fruits too.
-
Impel Down Arc: Great Dante's Inferno style concept of the prison and seeing old enemies again. Even moreso that Luffy has to work with most of them. And of course the reveal of Jinbe.
-
Marineford Arc: Didn't dissapoint though did drag a bit. Was great seeing Whitebeard in action for the first (and last time). Didn't care for Ace but was heartbreaking to see him die after all that sacrifice.
-
Post War Arc: A sudden but great backstory that expands on Luffy's past and gives us more insight to Ace. The time skip was an also surprising but welcomed move.
-
Return to Sabody Arc: Great comeback and does indeed feel like the beginning of the second act. It was short but fun and very enjoyable.
-
Fishman Island Arc: Yeah this one was a bit of a letdown. The island itself wasn't bad but Hody wasn't much of a villain beside just acting on ignorence and his crew and his were patheticlly unchallenging but I suppose as a stop before the New World, it was a last chance to to take a crew that was once on their level. The flashbacks and revelations at the end did make up for the arc though.
-
Punk Hazard Arc: Great so far, I love the government conspiracy and the fact that Donflamingo is getting a look into as a future threat. Of course till we reach the climax I can't fully grade it at the moment.
So there you are, hope it wasn't too long. Keep up the good work guys.

If you suddenly saw Oda(walking on the streets, shopping, wherever) what would be the first thing you would do?
^.^ Just for fun
-
Hi Greg! I'm not sure if you remember, but I managed to stump you on that conjoined twins eating a devil fruit question about a year back.
Anyways, some new Questions for you (Greg) whenever you are on the next Podcast:
Oda, being a Japanese Mangaka, obviously incorporates a lot of Japanese myth, folklore, history, and culture into One Piece in the form of characters, settings, etc. etc.
I made some observations about Caesar Clown that I would like for you to comment on. He's a Psychotic criminal who uses deadly poisonous gas as a weapon, has 'Clown' in his name, a near-permanent smirk on his face and laughs maniacally. His first name is Caesar - as in Cesar Romero, the actor from the old Adam West Batman TV show who played the Joker - and works for someone whose codename is actually 'Joker'. In this sense, Oda could have possibly been inspired by Batman's archenemies the Joker as the basis for his character.
-
If so, would this make it the first time that he has used Western/American Pop Culture and Entertainment as a source of influence and inspiration for One Piece?
-
Could this have been the direct result of a growing international fan-base, and could we expect to see Oda look abroad more at foreign culture for inspiration and ideas in the coming years?
-
-
Stump me? ^_^; It's more of an unanswerable question at this junction than being 'stumped'. I think I gave you my best guess but it's not something anyone besides Oda can answer.
First Western influence? No way, not even close. There've been too many 'Western' influences on the series to count.
Starting with this:

Hey guys! It's been awhile. I don't have a question, but I met J. Michael Tatum for the first time at Anime Detour! It was awesome. Expect pics and a more in-depth story later (unless Tatum tells you guys first). I also took pics at the One Piece photo shoot; I'll post a choice few on your facebook since I don't want to spam too many. (unless you track a podcast tag for the OP tumblr, which might be easier)
-
I have two questions for you guys: Do you feel more filler arcs are necessary for the future, in order to fix the pacing issues we are currently experiencing with the anime at the moment? Or do you feel everything is "better" this way?
2. How should Toei go about making filler arcs in the future? What good and bad lessons can they learn from the previous ones like G8, or Apis?

started listening to one piece podcast, pretty cool

Hi I want to know if you have heard about a one piece youtube reviewer named Jimsnerdnation
he just picked up manga fairly recently and is reviewing one chapter a day of one piece
( he is currently on chapter 373- at the time this was posted) after a recent interview you had on the podcast I think you would find his views on one piece interesting -
Hmm not sure where to put this but….
I wasn't really into the whole white knight argument regarding the "Vacumm lady" in the most recent OPP :\ Not sure if anyone else shares the same sentiment.
It was a joke by Oda. It wasn't like Oda called for a press conference and started spewing misogynistic comments.
Oda's writting a kid's story that has jokes along with it. Certainly people that listen to comedy podcasts should understand that there's no line for you to cross when you write up a joke. Anythings fair game. Just cause someone makes a gay joke or a sexist joke doesn't make them automatically a homophobe or a sexist. It's all about the intent behind the words. In this case Oda's intent was simply a joke. He's not putting down woman in anyway really nor is he seen quoted stating a sexist remark. The whole white knight argument seem like you guys were taking the joke way too seriously. -
Gross dude, calling people "white knights" go back to reddit. On a serious note why is this not the podcast's theme song?!?!

Hi there One Piecepodcast I love your, well podcast and I have a question and a theory to tell.
Firstly this one always bugged me but how exactly did Don Krieg escape the grandline after his confrontation with Mihawk? You can’t sail up Reverse mountain so the only way would have been through the calm belt. Considering his ship and crew where ruined by Mihawk plus no weather and Seaking nests he must have been one lucky bastard to get through alive. Any thoughts on how he could have escaped?
Next a theory I found on Orojackson regarding raftel’s location which i found really interesting. The theory is that Raftel is a man-made island (why people can’t detect it) and is located under reverse mountain akin to how Fishman Island is on the opposite side of the world.
Firstly it can’t be a coincidence Reverse mountain is shaped like an x mark. Second the only way to access it is via the calm belt where there’s an undersea tunnel that leads to Raftel (Probably 10,000m under the sea at least).
The full blown theory is on Orojackson and is well worth a read. Tell me what you think?

Hey dude, I think you'll have a better chance of them answering the question on the podcast if you emailed it to them instead, they don't really check these forums for questions much anymore :)
