At the end of the day, this wasn't uber shit or anything, but it wasn't even needed. It served little to no point, we learned so little about the new generation, about how Naruto handles things as a hokage, how Sasuke has evolved as a person (he hasn't), or Sakura (she hasn't), and instead we focused in some kind of family drama we all knew was going to be undone by the end of the spin-off, which is exactly what happened.
Barely anything that even deserves a small mention. It simply wasn't needed.
We got Sarada. She was the most enjoyable Naruto character we've gotten in years and that's something.
You know what is more hilarious about Kabuto running the orphanage is that the majority of the orphans are probably from the previous war, the one Kabuto start it with Obito, so now those same orphans are living with the man that made them lose their love ones, unpunished for his actions in the war, lol.

Actually, they're just clones grown in test tubes.
Kabuto is the coolest guy.:ninja:
@Shobu:
Chouji at her daughter's eyes is better slim D: that is pitiful.
Chouji also hated having his height pointed at when he was that age. They are kids, they are still learning those kinds of things… it will be troublesome if she is still like that in the following years.
…What do we do now?

I gotta say, Kankuro's son looks hella cool (top right corner) - I did think he was Kiba's son with this cool undead skeletal demon dog but when I checked the forehead protector (forgot what it's called), I put 2 and 2 together; it's Kankuro's son with a bone puppet

Is that Bee's kid at the far right?
Well, I'll miss this mini series. I loved it more than the last part of the main manga…
Salad was definitely a much better character than expected
Which I guess she had to be considering that the entire plot around her made no sense. Seriously, what was even the point of Shin and the Shins?

^Now that I think about it, at least makes more sense than Karin having her own umbilical cord.
Ehh… I guess this must have gone over the heads of most readers in this forum.
Safekeeping umbilical cord of you or your child is a Japanese culture.
I'm not sure if my mom still has mine, last time I saw it was like 30 years ago when I was ten.
So no, Karin keeping her own umbilical cord is not strange at all.
As to why she had Salada's, who knows. She may have been storing it on behalf of Sakura for whatever reason.
I know the culture behind safekeeping the umbilical cord. I just thought it was freaky that Karin had it and not Sakura. She may have helped deliver Sarada, but keeping the cord should be Sakura's job.

That part of my post was replying to access's post. It's rather obvious from the context.
Your post was quoted to keep the string of conversation coherent.
Having kids creates odd practices….Umbilical cord storing, bronzing baby shoes, eating placenta, planting placentas, keeping baby teeth.

Learning new things every day. Thanks, Aohige, never knew about it.
So let us ignore all the years Sasuke not showing up and Sakura not being able to answer something probably… Here is how the manga could have ended... In chapter 2
!
I still can't get over the ploit device the photo has been… Yeah Sakura instead of taking a picture with Sasuke at the time you banged each other... Take an old one where he was pure evil and use photoshop on it... But cuz you lacked the editing skills and forgot to cut out Suigetsu and Karin
I really did wish that scene ended that way. Plot misunderstandings based on a character remainung silent for no good reason really irks me. Especially if it's a fairly simple reason.

Thanks, this would have been great. I think I'll just cancel all of this sh** and imagine this was the ending.
No problem… But damn it really has been 10 chapter wasted on this stuff. Even if I actually liked Sarada. But her going after Sasuke, which is bad enough from Sasuke's side, would be enough. The whole "real mother" stuff has been absolutely unneeded
It is a good message to have in a story. There's lots of kids out there who are raised by a single parent, or have other situations that can be frustrating. While they lived most or all of their life with certain people, certain things can be lacking or feel off, and sometimes they want to learn the truth, which adults decide they don't want to be upfront for various reasons. The moral that in the end, it's the memories and feelings that matter, not blood relations, is a good one to have.
Being attached to the Naruto name, especially when it deals with the Sasuke and Sakura relationship, was not doing it any favors. Add in the fact that Kishimoto is not good at being subtle and writing out good scenarios, this does fall flat. That said, I'm willing to look past certain aspects and look at the good stuff in it. Sarada was an enjoyable character, Naruto showed good traits as Hokage, the part with Sasuke touching Sarada on the forehead was a nice little scene, and despite the circumstances, I liked the message it had.
Still have to laugh how it ended. You have all these clones with Sharingan, and Naruto just scares them all. After that they all go to live in an orphanage together. That's the most abrupt way to just end a threat.
I really did wish that scene ended that way. Plot misunderstandings based on a character remainung silent for no good reason really irks me. Especially if it's a fairly simple reason.
At least 5 of the Harry Potter books suffer from this.
Hell, Sirius and Snape's entire life stories suffer from this.

It's so frustrating. I don't think I've ever seen a person in real life do this. People tend to explain anything and everything if someone is getting mad at them or seem distressed because they are getting the wrong picture.

Mind refreshing my mind on some of the details? Thanks.

-Book 2's problems could have largely been avoided had either Ginny or Harry said "Hey teacher, I have a magic talking book, should I trust it?"
-Book 3's problems could have been avoided if someone had said "Btw Harry, Sirius is your godfather, and here's what happened 20 years ago." On a related note, if, when Sirius was arrested he had just said "woah wait hang on. I wasn't the secret keeper, Petigrew was! He's also an unregistered animagus. You can give me some truth serum and check my memories, I'm on the up and up here." Unless there was no trial whatsoever before what was basically a long tortured death sentence, in which case the magic world is even more seriously messed up than it seems.
-Book 4 could have been dodged at least a bit if Dumbledore had told Harry then what he told him at the end of book 5. Also, the villain's plot was extremely needlessly complicated considering he could have dropped a portkey in front of Harry at any time. There was no reason at all for Harry to be caught up in the games.
-Book 5 could have been almost entirely avoided if anyone had said "Harry, your psychic training is important because Voldemort might be able to spy through you or give you false visions. Until you get that down, no one can tell you anything important." If Dumbledore himself couldn't say it to Harry's face, have any of dozens of trusted people pass the message.
-Book 6 could have been wrapped in about a half hour if Dumbldore had just given Harry the Horcrux lessons right out the gate. Yes, Dumbledore was only 98% sure and needed confirmation… but letting Harry know WHY he had to talk to the new potions teacher might have encouraged him to work harder. Similarly, much of book 7 could have been spared if during that year Dumbledore had taken a half hour to teach Harry the theory about wand ownership and about the Deathly Hallows.
In all cases, everyone could have been saved a lot of trouble where Snape was concerned if Dumbledore had told anyone "hey, I'm dying anyway, and he's a double agent now bound by a curse. I trust him implicitly... and this is WHY." Rather than just saying "I trust him... for reasons."
In each and every case, if it was a problem telling Harry specifically because of his psychic connection, then someone close to him could have been told for emergency case... Hermione or Neville would have been ideal, or Minerva. (Really. Harry would have been spared a lot if instead of being told "trust Dumbledore" he had instead been told "Dumbledore has explained his reasons to me and they are valid. However your connection to Voldemort means we can't give you details, but..." Not Ron though, he's a blabbermouth.
Really, a lot of it comes down to DUmbledore holding too much too close to the vest. I can even forgive a lot of it as just him goofing up as he admitted at the end of book 5, but that just means in book 6 he should have been waaay more upfront, especially knowing his death was impending.
I really need to reread this series. I only vaguely remember details up to book 4. lol

Have you guys ever watched the amazing Giant Robo OVAs?
The whole story can be summed up by "the world nearly ended because papa didn't really explain what he meant to say"
To be fair, no one knew except Sirius about the truth that happened, lupin forgave him in the name of friendship. And if you ask to be read by magical means, there were ways to counter that, As seen with slughorn and legimens. He wasn't going to get a trial at that time.
Wand ownership was such a convoluted mess that I don't care to defend it.
Admiting that harry was an horocrux was the last thing that dumbledore wanted to do, so he pushed it out of his mind, and took actions to avoid reacting to that.
Talking magical stuff aren't that weird in the setting, maps, pots and paintings are ok, but books are evil? Besides if push came to shove, any teacher would have been entralled except dumbledore. Voldy has broken lots of people in his life.
The only reason of the goblet plan was to do the whole show of voldy showing up in the middle of the game and murdering everybody by surprise. I believe that in his words "it would have been awesome". Voldemort loves his dramatics.
And the mind link, if they could get it to work both ways, it would be as much of an asset asset for harry to spy on him, and didn't know how much he could learn without alerting voldy. Besides, they weren't sure until the attack on Arthur.

! - Ginny was 11 years old and, naively, she didn't think that there was anything wrong with the book and confided in it as a friend. By the time she realized that something was wrong, she was already being possessed and in her moments of clarity she was panicky and terrified that anyone found out that she had been doing bad things. Again, she was 11 years old.
! - It's confirmed in the series that Sirius was sent to Azkaban without a trial by Crouch, I believe. Before he was sent there he was too enraged and mourning to think straight (hence why going after Pettigrew was his first priority), and whatever he said was most likely treated as nonsense by who caught him since they were convinced of his guilt and didn't even offer him a real trial. Also, he didn't have one shred of evidence to support his case and truth potions are as reliable in their world as the polygraph is in ours, because it's stated that there's plenty of ways to beat it. Even Dumbledore was convinced that Pettigrew had been their secret holder, as it was stated.
! - Dumbledore specifically mentions that he didn't tell Harry everything before the end of book 5 because he was too young. And, honestly, that's a good reason since, what he basically has to tell him is that he will never get any rest until Voldemort either kills him or he kills Voldemort, kill or be killed. How does one tell that to a 11 year old? Or a 12 year old? Or a 13 year old? Or a 14 year old? We have to remember that for us, the reader, it's rather obvious that Harry will always be in the center of everything that goes on and will be the hero and main piece of every adventure in that world, but for the actual characters that live in that world? That's not obvious for them at all. To them, Harry's just a unexperienced and untrained boy, who still has years left to even complete a basic magical education, let alone the kind of training Aurors and other adult wizards get. Dumbledore and the others fully expected him to be a very valuable ally in the future, but that's when he is an adult, a trained and mature adult, not a kid…
! When I first read Harry Potter I also had trouble understanding why Dumbledore and the others were so secretive about all this since I was little older than Harry, but now that I'm much older, I fully understand. I think of kids with Harry's age nowadays and I understand that Harry was really just a kid, a baby. And that's how it looks to me, imagine to someone as old and experienced as Dumbledore. Now add the fact that it's not obvious to them that Harry is the main character in a series of books, that they think as real people in a real universe, and it becomes clear why they tried to protect Harry while he was a kid.
! Dumbledore only told 15 year old Harry because he basically had no other choice and, even then he didn't tell Harry everything. As we learned in the last book, Dumbledore knew that, most likely, Harry would have to voluntarily commit suicide to destroy Voldemort. If Dumbledore didn't keep things from Harry, he would have to basically tell a 11 year old that, most likely, he would have to commit suicide to stop magic Hitler...
! I agree that the villain's plan was a bit too elaborated, but hey, it was cool.
! - This is consistent with the last point. How to tell a 15 year old that he might be possessed at any time by magic Hitler? How is such a boy supposed to live and grow up with that knowledge? Once again, they simply thought it was best to just watch him, keep him safe and let him live as normally as he possibly could until later.
! - Understanding Voldemort was as vital as knowing about his Horcruxes. That's why they spent a lot of time doing that and that's what allowed Harry to win in the end. And Dumbledore made clear to Harry that it was vitally important to recover that memory from Slughorn as he had made it clear from the beginning that it was all necessary to fight Voldemort. That was the bottom-line and he never kept that from Harry. Why would knowing Dumbledore's suspicions about the Horcruxes beforehand motivate Harry more than that? If it wasn't Horcruxes, it would have been something else... It shouldn't be those specifics to motivate Harry, but the fact that it was useful to fight Voldemort. Honestly, Harry just dragged his feet on that one, like a typical teenager with hormones.
! - Like it was stated in the books, Snape made Dumbledore promise that he wouldn't ever tell anyone why. Dumbledore obviously thought that that was dumb, as it was clear from his reaction, but Dumbledore kept his promise. And this isn't just a matter of honor. Who knows how Snape would react if Dumbledore broke his promise? He would definitely see it as betrayal since, to him, his love for Lilly was the most important thing in the world, but also his most important secret, one that he would do pratically anything to protect. As for him not telling anyone that he had made Snape promise to kill him if it came to it, that was necessary secrecy to keep him as an effective and undetected double agent since there would be no one saying that he didn't work for Voldemort, either with words or actions.
! - It is mentioned in the books that Dumbledore is too secretive, but, he had reasons to be. He's basically Nick Fury in that sense. The more people know, the more chances are of the enemy getting the info, one way or another (torture, potions, traitors, etc). Besides, a great deal of it were just Dumbledore's theories and when he confirmed them he did share with Harry and gave him what he needed. Also, Hermione is of the same age as Harry. The same reasons why Dumbledore protected him, he protected her, until they had to know.
! - He didn't exactly say he was goofing around, he was just sorry that he had miscalculated and that his will to protect Harry had backfired.

Theres a large difference between telling Harry specifically "Okay, you are totally going to have to commit suicide at some point"
and
"Voldemort has a specific interest in you and there are reasons we can't tell you things. I'm treating you like an adult right now. It's not that you are untrustworthy, you have more than proven your worth, and we don't want to exclude you, but your scar and the method of his resurrection may have complications. I promise to tell you more later once we are clearer on things."
Harry might have still moped about it, but maybe he wouldn't have run right off into traps or brooded about it for all of, oh, books 5, 6 and 7.
Similarly. "Getting that memory from Slughorn is important" is NOT the same as "Getting that memory from Slughorn is a literally matter of life and death, and you need to put as much attention as you can on this task." You say one thing, Harry procrastinates a year. You say the other, he gets it done about 2 hours later. WHich… is exactly what happened in the book.
Similarly, with Snape. "I trust him implicitly." is not the same as "I trust him implicitly due to a private matter, but I promised not to ever talk about it." One shows naive overconfidence in someone, the other shows that, well, at least there's a good reason.
Sure, there are reasons you can't tell Harry everything, and he IS young, but an extra sentence or two really goes a long way towards avoiding getting people killed.
