Jinbe would be Okinawan all the way. Birth place of Karate, his Kimonos and Fishmen being a minority just fit too well. I'm not the expert though, ask Aohige or someone.

Okay, I wanna throw my input into this. I'm also just gonna say beforehand that I read none of the previous 600 pages so I have no clue if there's already a topic being discussed lol… Anyway.

Jimbei: Ever since Jimbei said that he couldn't join Luffy because he had 'stuff' to do or something, I just feel like he's going to die somehow.
Bartolomeo: No. for two reasons. 1) We don't need a LuffyxBartolomeo ship. 2) In the newest chapter he was seen in a big picture with all the other captains/contestants of the tournament. If he was truly Straw Hat material he would have had his own panels and a much more important/personal role. He's also a Captain already and looks up to Luffy only.
Sabo: I'm not against this one, its just I can't see him leaving the revolutionary army to join the crew. Team up? Sure, they can even travel together for a little bit. But not a crewmate

Jinbe said he had to do something and when that was done if Luffy still wanted him to join he would, that something has most likelly to do with making sure the other Fishman that were part of his crew(that don't want to be pirates) are safe, so it will be Big Mom related and will tie in with the SHs story yet again at some point, Oda even put the damn kid in 3 covers with the 10 on his shirt, he could have put freaking 38 there if its just a random number its a big coincidence thats its a 10(which would be Jinbe number on the crew).

Yeah aslong as the fighting style is diferent I'm fine with other sword users, even though I would love to see someone with a mace or an axe as a weapon join the crew, those are weapons that I usually like to use in games.

I think that since he is coming off of this cover story he is going to get wrapped up in the storyline pretty soon. Maybe next arc. While i think there is a possibility he could die i don't see anyone that Luffy cares about dying anytime soon. At least till later in the series. Maybe before a second timeskip.

i think luffy has stronger relationship with jinbe compared to, like, brook. jinbe saved his life, pulled him away from despair, gave his blood to, once again, save luffy's life, etc. plus, jinbe said that he'll protect the 'seed'/'dream' of shirahoshi/otohime/tiger regarding thr fishman-human relationship and luffy most likely will be the guide for shirahoshi like joyboy did earlier. and so on and so forth. there is simply NO WAY for jinbe to not join the crew.

regarding jinbe (if he indeed join straw hat) i think oda will split japan into two region : kanto and kansai
zorro and jinbei then will take one region each.

Every single member of the SH has a specific specialty that only they do, save for Zoro who is a pure combatant(but he's first mate, he doesn't need a specific job)
Nami is navigator, Robin is a scholar/language expert etc(very useful when traveling all over the world), Chopper is a doctor, Sanji is a chef/food expert, Franky is an engineer/shipwright, Brooke is a musician, Usopp is a gunner/marksman.
Most of the people named have no actual specialty. just because someone is strong or useful in a fight does not make them SH material.

When escaping Impel down, it was revealed that Jinbei's ability to perfectly read the eb and flow of the ocean basically makes him the perfect helmsman.
And yes, she's technically an archaeologist but this lends itself pretty heavily to language. you can't travel the world studying different cultures if you can't read and speak the many languages required to actually understand any of it.

There is a lot more needed then just unique devil fruit power in order to join the crew . Bellamy character is not unique in any way especially not to the point of becoming a strawhat member .

Jinbe steered the ship and for a long time and even now many of us assume that it was a hint to the future but I don't recall anyone in the book stating how great Jinbe was at steering. He could eventually end up as a life guard for all we know or just another fighter like Zoro.

Luffy wants 10 men, he has 8. Jinbe will be the 9th person and someone else will join right before or after him. Sakurai said the next crew mates would join in succession. Jinbe will still be the 9th no matter who comes next.

Jinbe is all but confirmed. Oda only delayed it cause Jinbe was too strong to join right now. Once the Big Mom arc arrives, and the monster trio have leveled up, Jinbe will accompany them in her defeat.
There really is no one else on the slate that could be it. I don't think Kinemon or anyone in this current arc really has shown he has a dream that lines up with them

Yup, like we all said, she's a scholar and a historian, and language is basically irrelevant in the world of OP. Have we ever encountered a country that used a different language? Even fishman and people from skypea speaks the common language. It's a manga/anime so authors/artist like Oda won't hassle himself to make it realistically possible that each island or country will speak different language.
The moon dwellers who Eneru encountered at the moon are the only beings who doesn't speak the common OP language.

The three people that I want to join the most are Monet, Kin'emon and Bartolomeo, just feels like they would complete the strawhats.
Monet is believed to be an Astronomer and this will probably be relevant when Enel gets reintroduced or something like that. She also has a unique design, shes a logia fruit user and a female. Also, lets go with the theory that she is still alive, and I believe she is.
Bartolomeo could be the ship defense, he has a pretty cool design and a quirk. Plus his dream is joining the Strawhats isn't it? And to people saying that then he would no longer have a dream, he might develop a new one, similar like Usopp did a few times. Lets also imagine that something happens and the "he has a crew" restriction is lifted.
Kin'emon tho, im not really sure what his place in the crew could be, but he has funny quirks, he already has funny interactions with Brook and Sanji, Zoro as well, and he fills up the last missing place on the sword users
