ok, so those covers are pretty good. I really like the the border on the season 7 part 1 set, it is really different from what we got in the previous 3 seasons. I am also interested in the new special feature that is listed, villains and fishman, a peek behind the curtains. really curious as to what that will be about.

Yes we finally have confirmation and glad its not in the end of July, lets hope Voyage 2 follows after it in August :)
-
Niiiice cover! And just in time for Otakon this year, so that'll make my weekend!
Just got through with the newest voyage (though admittedly didn't finish the Spa filler), and it was everything I was hoping for! Also really had to give it to Lola's VA, I was impressed!
-
Wait a second…where did Bonney's legs go? Her body just seems to end above Luffy's arm!
Actually, the same thing appears to be true for X Drake...

Rightstuf got Season 7, Part 1 for preorder.

Only three months to go.
sigh
-
I don't mind the wait. Since now we know when it's coming out.
-
I hope FUNi at least keeps it interesting by releasing little tidbits about the voices and such between now and then. I believe they said they would. Of course, we also have the trailer to look forward to.
-
i hope Funi puts the episodes on their website two weeks before and they actually work
-
I completely forgot about the incoming trailer. Hope they reveal law or kidd's voice in that.
Love the cover. The set ends on a high note. Despite my rationing, I'll probably skip ahead and watch the introductions episode first, like I did when the one water seven episode was at the end of the foxy set.
Haven't really looked forward to one piece in a while; I just didn't care about these thriller bark episodes. It's been great to watch the kuma at thriller bark episodes, as I've really enjoyed those. And now it'll be great to really look forward to a set again.
-
Wow that cover looks great, I think I'll start collecting the anime again from this voyage

Hey everyone! Our podcast is going to be taking a trip to FUNimation studios in Dallas to record some audio interviews and a lot of video features as well – either as a webseries or as a short-forum version of something like OPPJapan. We have a lot planned, but since nothing is set in stone as of quite yet, we don't really want to get into specifics. If there is anyone in particular you'd like us to talk to, or if there's anything at FUNi or in Dallas that you'd like to see, let me know.

OH WOW. THAT LOOKS AWSOME SISTER. i am so happy they put all the supernobas on the cover.
-
Great news on the OPP front! Can't think of someone specifically that you guys won't be dealing with but I'll keep it in mind if that changes.
And wow, I'm really liking Season 7's release date and boxart. Though I do miss when they were a bit more creative…
-
does anyone know how sales are doing? I heard Fairy Tail has better sales than One Piece here in the U.S.
-
That may be true but One Piece is doing just fine here methinks. I doubt funimation would be wasting the effort, time,, money on something thats not showing good figures. ESPECIALLY season 7 where they no doubt used SO MANY actors, had to get older actors to reprise their roles. New ones that they KNOW will be integral later.
-
I believe it is doing fine. now I am just basing this off of amazon, but One Piece seems to be selling pretty well on it. I mean hell, season six voyage 4 was able to hit #1 for anime on amazon for a couple of days and even stayed in the #1 new release for anime for a week. Collection 11 was able to stay up in the top 10 for a couple months and collection 12 also seems to be doing well and will most likely hit #1 on the release date. but again, I am just basing this off of amazon.
-
Yeah, I think it doing well. I mean they are making those collectable boxsets for amazon.
-
It's not their most profitable anime, but since they have already dubbed around 400 episodes and have shown no signs of stopping (and even suggested the possibility of speeding up releases at some point) it seems like One Piece does well enough. They probably wouldn’t have come this far if One Piece did poorly over here.

From Funimation's annual 2014 report:
One Piece sold around 220,000 units as of July 2014.
Fairy Tail sold around 30,000 units at the time of this report. -
damnn!!!!! those Dragonball Z numbers are bananas
-
It would be great to speak to somebody at funimation about the acquisition of the movies

The only movie I ever want to see dubbed is movie 6. The others I can take a pass on.
-
what you do not want to see Choper Movie 9 dubbed. THAT ONE WAS AWSOME.

Not really, it just seems weird seeing Franky and Robin in Chopper's origin story.
-
Movie 4 was quite good, too, but I'd honestly enjoy watching all of them dubbed. I remember liking movie 2, as well.

Fairy Tail sold around 30,000 units at the time of this report.Good to see actual evidence of it selling well. Doubt anyone will worry about it being a worthwhile dub for funimation with those numbers.
I'm hoping for a trailer in early May. Can't wait for the set. Hopefully rightstuf ships in late June.
-
I'm sure these forums have discussed to death that certain OP films are superior to the rest, but for the sake of completion it would be nice to have them all Dubbed.

LEAVE FRANKY ALONE. Me and theresa liked seeing him in Movie 9. the movie is not cannon DONT TAKE IT SERIOUSLY.

Sorry, but I prefer Chopper's origin story in the manga and to a lesser extent in the anime over Movie 9. Like a said it just feels weird having Franky, Robin and even the Sunny on that adventure. I know I'm not suppose to take it seriously, but they make things even more confusing by showing characters from Alabasta in the credits, lol

What ever happened with that Double Talk episode that was focused on One Piece. Any good?
-
Ohhhhh, the Collection sets are coming out faster and faster, 300-324 comes out the same month as Season 7

I don't know? :(

It looks like hulu realign the one piece episodes for Season 7 and up. Even through we already know that Season 7 is going to 385 - 456. We got what could be the way the seasons could go for Season 8 - 11. Here is the hulu episode guide what could be Season 8 - 11.
Season 8: 457 - 516 (Marineford and Post War)
Season 9: 517 - 574 (Return to Sabaody and Fishman Island)
Season 10: 575 - 628 (Z Ambitions, Punk Hazard, and Breed)
Season 11: 629 - current (Dressrosa) -

-
We'll most likely never know until FUNi officially announces those following seasons themselves, though at this point it's very hard for me to believe FUNimation would deviate from this at all, it seems about right.
-
Hulu's guide is probably just an estimate, but I assume this will probably be how the seasons might ultimately look.

Why do people buy the voyage dvds? Isn't waiting/buying the collection dvds a cheaper alternative? I'm quite curious. Do the voyage dvds offer something the collection dvds dont? Is it a matter of just being impatient and wanting to get your hands on OP dvds asap?
-
Voyages are what keeps the dub going.
If no one bought the voyages, there wouldn't be any collections. It wouldn't be sufficient enough to support the costs of producing a dub with only a 24 episode box set.

Ah that makes sense. Thanks.
-
Basically what JC said, although I haven't bought Voyages since Skypiea and just stick to buying Collections because they're cheaper+take up less room on the shelf.

I don't think impatient is quite the right word either. The voyages just finished thriller bark. For someone to begin just watching the collections at this point, they'd have to wait roughly a year for the collections to catch up and pass thriller bark. And I'm not sure it's fair to call someone who doesn't want to wait a whole year for new content "impatient."
But yes, buying the voyages is the best way to support the series and help them continue to make it.

That's why i'm still buying the voyages and i will be having 20 more book shelves in the next 10 years.
(probably more if Fairy tail is continuing)But i don't mind
Nice cover art for season 7 voyage 1.
Oerah for the lady without legs! -
Sounds pretty definitive to me.

…or, you know, not.

Josh briefly mentions that they will probably make announcements for casting within the next month. It sounds like they are doing something similar to when they announced Brook, where they have a couple clips to commemorate the announcement as opposed to just a blog post listing the actors.
Also he mentions that they're still actively pursuing the movies and goes into a bit of detail about that.
