I grew up reading bastard !! back in the 90's so I 'm not disturbed by mel's behaviour , DS from bastard was 1000 times worst than Mel as far as abuse goes , from the princess sheila to his own daughter Arshess ney and bastard was officially a shonen back in the days.

Now that's disturbing and not the kind of thing we need people think is natural.

God, I hate power levels.

I never realized Ban/Elaine could have pedophile tones. I guess I never noticed Elaine has the appearance of a kid, I guess? I always thought she looked just a bit younger than Ban (while actually being much older).
King/Diane got me thinking, though. I always end up resorting to the fact King is a fairy to think probably things are way different in his eyes than in ours.
@Zar:Part of me doesn't mind it, part of me hates it, but I guess both parts agree that I shouldn't put too much focus on it or i'll just ruin the story for myself.
I almost gave up on the first chapter because of that, but forced myself to keep going. Today I fit on that discription - and while I manage to like the story despite those scenes, the same can't be said about how I view Meliodas.

I love there story but their physical age is quite disturbing to me. Like in the last cover. Which is funny since Elaine is more than 50 times older.

King may be my favorite character in the story( I have a thing cursed characters) and I really like his flashback but I think introducing romantic feelings rather than a close bond was definitely a bad idea. Or it could simply have been done with an older Diane(or a youger King) mentally and physically.

Well I do like Melio when he is in a serious situation or is messing around with the rest of the sins. The rest of the time I barely notice him.
-
Elaine is a fairy. Fairies look young/childish. There's nothing pedo about it, considering Elaine is hundreds – if not thousands -- of years old and can change her appearance at will (like King can).
Meliodas is the staple perverted old man (he's definitely thousands of years old given he is related to the 10 Commandments) and his molesting Elizabeth is for fan service. Let's not forget this is a Japanese manga and that shit is pretty common in shounen series. It's a cultural thing.

There are many mangas with caracthers like that.
Me guess is that as Elaine looks way younger than Ban and the image of both together doesn't look good at all.
I think that it is worse regarding Meliodas and Elizabeth because when they met she was just a child. Same for Diane and King.
Anyway, maybe Nakaba's intention was to show this romantic inoccence.

I said it made me uneasy not that it didn't make sense.
As for Melio not every cliché is well received and you can not like a certain author use it.

Nah or Nowi? Noah's age is much more similar to her potential supports and she acts a lot more mature anyway. Nowi is just disturbing.

Well he was, wasn't he?
Didn't this start after he had amnesia from the KO to the head?
++ Hadn't Diane/ Giants age much slower anyway as well? Thus older than she looked, despite just lacking social contact?Way I see it mentally, and physically they were similar ages.

I'm just glad this manga focuses more on fighting and power levels and less on interspecies romance.

Alright, so I've been out all week, but now that I'm back I don't really see the issue with the power level usage (in this chapter). Take away the bad name that 'power levels' have, and I thought this chapter used it well enough. Unless I'm forgetting a mention or two, I thought the primary usage this chapter was to show that even Meliodas in his somewhat controlled demon state was still 'only' 4000 something, compared to Galan's 26000 or so, which resulted in him still getting destroyed. Was there something else that bothered people? Just curious.

I think the issue is it's contrived and goes against show don't tell(something people should be less ironclad about but in general it applies especially here in my humble opinion).
I don't feel they add to the tension at most it's a nostalgia throwback that I'm not very fond of. Galan didn't become more terrifying because "numbers". As it stand we could have used that page space for something better. -
I don't remember Melio being under a spell. Could you say what you are referring to, please?
This scene [[URL="http://manga.redhawkscans.com/reader/read/the_seven_deadly_sins/en/0/121/page/14"]here], looking at the various translations, seems to imply that Meliodas has a seal placed on him to keep his demonic powers in check. I'm extrapolating a bit, with the idea tracing back to the conversations between Meliodas and Merlin about something that Meliodas wants back that Merlin is keeping or controlling– the thing they "will discuss later".

I don't care for them, but I didn't find their use in this chapter to be distracting; I thought it was just a panel or two? Overall I agree it is a distraction and doesn't add to the story, and also that the time spent introducing it could have gone to use elsewhere, but given it is already here and here to stay… I'm not really going to gripe about it every week it shows up. The reason I asked is because I thought I saw a few comments explicitly focusing on this chapter's use. I might have to go back through the last few pages... maybe...
-
I thought it was about his sword.
And he felt ok with using his demonic power now since he knew Elizabeth and Arthur aren't in risk of being hurt by it or him.
That's what it looks like to me.

On a different note series was pretty downhill for a while for me, what brought me back were the Edinburgh bonus chapters.
Assuming a certain level of quality, I only take a series as serious as it takes itself. I can be easy to please on the quality front though, I admit. Something can suck for a while and I'll still follow it and enjoy what I can, waiting for it to get back on track.
I thought it was about his sword. And he felt ok with using his demonic power now since he knew Elizabeth and Arthur aren't in risk of being hurt by it or him.
No, the sword was a separate conversation. When she gives him the sword she says something like "we'll continue the conversation about THAT OTHER THING later, but for now I will at least give you this…"
As for this chapter he specifically comments on "Merlin's seal" and "having no choice" but to use his demonic powers. His comment suggests that the two are directly related-- some unknown seal, and the risk posed in him using his demonic power.
Or the translation(s) got it all wrong and it is something totally different.

I actually think in this chapter, for once, having power levels was a good thing.
This manga is full of "OMG, THIS GUY IS SO MUCH STRONGER THAN US!!! Luckily I had this thing holding my power back so now I will remove it and will easily beat the hell out of him" that you don't actually feel the threat when an enemy that is strong appears. You simply know the gap between the enemy and the sins will be surpassed easily.
But having accurate numbers to show how exactly strong Galan is compared to the group somehow gave the feeling of a threat back. One thing is surpassing an enemy that is clearly stronger than you, other is surpassing an enemy whose power is seven times stronger than yours. It feels more convincing, I guess.

To me it seems to refer to perfect cup still being in place so he can take the risk to rampage. "if Merlin spell is still working then… (I can go all out)". The sentence is in the panel where we get to see the perfect cube still active and right after Merling use his demonic power. Power he is struggling to keep under control as he stop to confront himself on not falling into the darkness.
As for the item she stole from Melio I remember him saying she took it when she knocked him out. This plus Melio telling her she stole something from him and to give it back makes me think it is an object.

Demon state he is 10000 something. Same ballpark as ultimate Chastefiol.
Funny enough for once the power level didn't bother me. I guess Galan was that entertaining.

As for King he is the same that he is currently.
Unsure what you mean?
He definitely had amnesia as he didn't remember his family till something snapped back his memories. Also that whole time, seems like he didn't remember his other form as he never changed back. He seemed to remember some basics like what some things were but none of his people or experiences before that concretely.
That's why I say they're similar. Some1 with amnesia to that point is just as much a blank slate as a kid, and it can be seen by how King, and Diane basically shaped each other's world, and opinions about the world, ( till he got his memories back, and erased hers). -

He was the same King as in the present but without the memories. I also doubt memory lost is equated to return to childhood and it's not like he stayed that way.
I supposed you're talking the fat transformation? That's a thing he invented after he was arrested. The "kid" form is his true form.

Before Red Hawk's (superior) release, enjoy Mangastream's version of chapter 122.
I could've done with the red devil givin' some kind of fight, but grey devil's in da house.
Good chapter.
-
Vampire-like Demon is best comandament after Galan.
-
Waiting for the quality version, but it seems we have a purpose for the Holly War I. mmmm intriguing!
-
Lets see it I get this thing straight.
They couldn't revive all the entire Demon Clan, but one of the comandaments can just bring/create more? -
I wanted to learn what happened with Melidoas & co. (and maybe check in on Ban & King). oh well, this chapter works I suppose.I wonder what Hendricksen's capable of now that he's been deprived of his demon powers.
Now I have to wait another week again, and that makes me sad.
-
Awkward exposition is awkward. Chapter was pretty unextraordinary, but that might just be mangastream's fault.
Also, Bee Girl is a lock to fight Diane at some point.
-
Lets see it I get this thing straight.
They couldn't revive all the entire Demon Clan, but one of the comandaments can just bring/create more? They are probably not real demons, just puppets. One assumes the Demon Clan refers to ones with high degrees of inteligence and free will.
-

I don't think its actually real bees.
Demon= Bees.
Souls= Honey. -
Nice timing with a chapter featuring something entirely different. I like it.
The demons are proving to be interesting. It feels a little wrong that the red demon, who was hyped and responsible for everything bad in Ban's past, is taken out in a single chapter, but when thinking about it it makes sense. The knight trio are pretty strong, and Ban fought it as a regular human bandit. Not to mention, he didn't know how to take it out properly. I like it when battles do that, when it's not entirely reliant on strength but also on tactics. For all the power level stuff going on, this is arguably one of the better manga to put it in.Imagine power levels in Naruto or Bleach, or even One Piece. It'd be a nightmare.
-
Interesting chapter
-For starters now we now what the 5 five race were fighting about and most likely were the power possess by the knights come from.Is the translation correct on the five clans fighting each other? That would mean Hendricksen was wrong on the 4 clans ganging up on the demons. Would also mean that somehow the humans were relevant enough to battle the other clans.
-Them chasing humans human souls to get stronger remind me of the ants and human chase from HXH. Waiting from them to discover knights (nen users) give even more power.
-I appreciate the weird talking speech girl. She makes the sophisticated villain not bore me to death. I guess they though waiting fo Galan was a waste of time or maybe there's a meeting point.
-One of them is able to summon grey and red demons. Are they actually the equivalent of wild animals in the demon world? Is her ability related to the incident 20 years ago?
-Always found it funny how once the new adventure start the old one is suddenly so easy to trash. I hope the gray demon will at least give a good challenge. I would bet on Hendricksen having to sacrifice himself if it wasn't too soon in the war.
-Power level next chapter? Or will Hawk absence spare us???

I bet humans were the weakest clan in that war. Also I think they were a key part of that war and in the story, if it comes to be true the theory that Mel is a son of a demon and a human (or a goddess?).

Mmmm…. not sure about it. When the commandments were released, also the albions were; maybe those two kids came out in the same package.

To me Hendricksen is in the line in which the character could be ruined to death or could be happily solved.
-
We already knew there were 5 races fighting the previous war, because… 4+1=5 Also we knew the humans were relevant in that war since the 4 clans were required to seal the demons. But I bet humans were the weakest clan in that war. Also I think they were a key part of that war and in the story, if it comes to be true the theory that Mel is a son of a demon and a human (or a goddess?).
We knew the war involved those five clans but I fairly remember Hendrickson it was the demons vs the rest. Which explained to me why the humans were relevant in the first place. With a five 5-way war that means that somehow the humans (while weaker) were able to keep up with the other 4 races which I found rather odd or at least surprising.
Mmmm…. not sure about it. When the commandments were released, also the albions were; maybe those two kids came out in the same package.
Girl declare she is going to make sure they get bunch of souls and ask for large group humans while making a portal. Demon appear in village and is collecting souls. Seems like a good guess. Especially since last time we saw a demon it was random destruction and this one isn't even eating the souls.
To me Hendricksen is in the line in which the character could be ruined to death or could be happily solved.
I guess it's all about the talk that comes afterwards.
-
In fact, it's likely there were more than 5 clans in the War (Vampires helped the Demons, and who know which other clan more), but 4 sealed the demons.

Which is why I found it so strange. I just can't picture the weak humans as a whole faction when the vampires were mere vassals.

Could be cool to see her get frustrated over no one understanding her. At least I'm sure it would benefit her character someway.

Ass lady is such a great panel. I like the mixture of a very dangerous presence with the dark shadows over the naked body and the kind-of-goofy face with fat checks and eyes which gives a sense of cuteness. the hair is charming also. And… with that drawing, that line is great: "My ass says: …".

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in many chars.
I suppose is that time when boredom is divine and you have to extrapolate your point of view talking about the universe and try to explain it… unluckily there's the lack of money or porn.

Ah I totally missed the release. Well, well, let's see what we've got here…
The three musketeers are fun to watch. They work pretty well as a group, both in combat and in entertaining the reader. About the guy at the end, I wonder how he'll redeem himself and whether it's going to be believable/satisfactory.
The demon designs are top-notch as always.
