Chapter 782: Evil`s Charisma

The main protagonist is male as far as I've seen…
How so? Thats a vague answer. Could you tell me examples?
One of his last posts:
BULLSHIT!
Ekhm. Sorry, I always have one of those when someone tries to push their arbitrary, subjective beliefs as actual truths.
Now please, let's drop the subject.

Ok, fine. I see he was rude, yeah.
@TLC:Jesus Christ, what the fuck happened to this thread? It was fine for like 30 pages and now it's turned to shit.
I'm sorry.. if it's in any way my fault, I didn't mean to. I was just trying to have a discussion. :(
(I'm serious. No sarcasm meant. I just was going with the flow of the convo) -
it's not as repulsive when you realize they are doing the same exact thing to him from the beginning. They are using him while being used themselves and both parties use the word "family" to justify it more.
True I suppose. Although I think this kind of attitude would still absolutely enrage people like Luffy or Shanks and the sort. Especially when it comes to members who are deluded enough to really buy the family lines like Bellamy
Why pointlessly fuel exchange instead of taking it calm, more polite way like mature person you mention (and perhaps you try to look like) would surely do?
He has a point to some degree and you dont have to make somebody "school boy" to make yourself look more right in eyes of other members of forum. Also again forum gets massively negative, people get into harsher than normally exchanges with reason being somebodys complaining on WOMEN in One Piece and comparing One Piece series to other mangas. Varus being new account of Darth seems even more certain than yesterday.
No I am actually only half sarcastic. I truly do believe that he is still a pre teen with an extremely extremely limited knowledge of the world and women. So while I do put a little barb because let's face it his posts are repulsive I genuinely hope that he outgrows this attitude and actually becomes a real man*
*well in my latest post. In the others I am just an asshole ;)
-
How so? Thats a vague answer. Could you tell me examples?
Ask mods, dont ask forum members. You can always write to Robby or Robzilla if you are so eager to know exact reasons and examples.
Darths attitude gotten worse and worse over the time and he acted very confident and crossing some lines from time to time.
Fault in my opinion was more on his side than forums. There were bans before where people gotten banned for being stuck to one idea and provoked to answer post after post as people disagreed with them - it puts a lot of stress on person and in time person crosses the line. Then ban comes and then there should be at least some time for thinking stuff through before comming back to forum. Forums are not suited for every person the way they are, sometimes changes in behaviour has to be made not to destroy forum experience for many people. -
^^^shots fired.
Hardly.
Yes. I can see that you are still attending elementary school. It's quite obvious . But don't worry. Once you grow up and meet actual real life women you will understand what I am talking about. Until then don't worry about it. We have all had that stupid phase where we were talking silly stuff on the internet. Hopefully one day you will be able to look back at these embarrassing posts of yours and laugh.
So let me get this straight. First you take a sentence of my post out of context, then you use a term which can't be applied to beforementioned sentence, and then you try to describe me from that - all while not knowing the context of the argument or the meaning of your used term. Impressive! Yeah, pretty pointless to argue with you.
-
Jazo uses logic swag.
Waiting to see if effective….

Okay then but still as you feel further into life and self growth with attitude you given you might make him think he is right. Plenty people closes when being lectured in way that downgreades how they should feel about themselves.
I mean that I am not blind to issues and things you point out and I agree more than you or anybody that points it as faults but I also find it weird as One Piece was always like that(with some small badass moments for women) and as much of an issue it is its been already so long that way..Expecting those things to get big changes any time soon is kind of spinning your own wheel. I mean that it is an issue but its like expecting person - Oda - to change his way to please more people with women role in story than he already does and it 99% wont happen as 40 year old guy can hardly change. He possibly doesnt even feel need to as lately with Punk Hazard motive of children and relation of Kyros and Rebecca on Dressrosa he is hitting at family, children tones in his story instead of showing women in at least bit different way.
Only chance for showing women to be possibly on top of piracy is showing off Big Mom and yet she is still pictured like gigantic hag.. With a very strong character as it was already hinted when Tamago offered her to compromise but still a gigantic hag.
I dont see way to properly show strong female character in One Piece as its rather quirky manga with strong women looking often like hags or monsters from nightmares or having character from nightmares(Boa being cold hearted monster).Strong female character would need more characterization on characters side and in One Piece what we get most of times?
Design and introduction chapters showing most of what character trully is. Oda seems to be as interested in change of how he shows women as Luffy was in listening Jinbeis backstory..If you read Vinland Saga then check out last chapter - its seinen manga though - there characteristics of manga and more adult, character driven themes of story promise with only few pages far stronger characterization through design( even as simple thing as a scar) far more interesting strong women character that might become part of main cast. Far more interesting that what we gotten in One Piece in many years.
My point is that to flesh out women as character you need different type of medium than what One Piece is as it is now.

You can always repair it with interesting post that shows some of your thoughts on current chapters or what you think might happen.
If its enough thoughts provoking that is.I do wonder how top of palace will change its looks after that explosion and if Cavendish controlling Hakuba could possibly be saving Law from that explosion.
Like I dont feel danger for Law as he is now so I only wonder on how that explosion will affect Luffy and Doflamingo and their fight.
Just this chapters first half was very cool apetizer for Luffy vs Doflamingo but it was again only few pages of their exchange with even more of Doflamingo build up.. -
Do not forget to drink your pills people!

Lucy and Natsu are both the protagonist.
That is subjective.
I myself don't see her as a main protagonist. -

Just this chapters first half was very cool apetizer for Luffy vs Doflamingo but it was again only few pages of their exchange with even more of Doflamingo build up..Well, if the explosion is fire, then by shonen logic, it should not change much, considering we haven't seen much outward change by now. Possibly, the floor could have collapsed further?
Cavendish interference seems unlikely, since he was knocked out earlier, and he would have little incetive to go up the tower, or specificaly saving Law, since he has no debt to him.
I agree about not feeling any danger for Law. I would fully expect him to pull another giant room out of his ass. It is clear that the lack of stamina is not really any detriment to his abilities.
-
I just hope it's Sabo, mostly because I hope Law didn't just teleport him and Luffy, and not sure what else could save Law AND his arm.
-
Can someone tell me what page the derail starts on? And who started it? Looking for it rn so I'll edit this if I find it first

Well Law was tired enough to be capable only of speaking - he conserved his energy with not moving anything else than mouth while provoking Trebol.
Then he managed to pull off room that barely covered Trebol and did one of his most basic moves - he was using his Tact on pieces of Warhsip and a ton of other things without much effort so to use tact on piece of metal like sword was of course pushing it from Oda but not like completely impossible thing made possible. It would be crazy if Oda shows us Law doing anything more beside what he just did.. If Law does anything more its comparable to Narutos chakra pool during last big part of story if you know what I mean.
Cabbage saving Law is more like a wild guess than a prediction as I have no idea how Law will save himself(he might teleport himself under the floor if his room is up and then go KO out of overusing his power, strech but very Lawish thing to do.. )
-
Sorry but I dont get why you seem to be even bothered by it.
And thanks for explaining that One Piece world is not real world :ninja:Also- interesting name new guy

Now i know what you mean. I'm pretty slow.
Everybody have ups and downs
I wonder if that explosion will affect fight in any way.
I think it would be very interesting if for example floor on top gotten blown away to pieces and fight moves inside walls of castle.
Perhaps but let the mods deal with it, I would like to think that he would be above creating a new account just to cause trouble but you never can tell some just cant stop themselves.
I might be part of problem as getting bit paranoid over that thing doesnt help anybody, so I will just loosen grip on that idea and see as maybe it wont be half as bad as I felt it could be.

She can beat monster trio in 2 seconds, I dont think that even Yonko can do it as fas as she can

See, here's a thing: It was already established that he can go overboard with the use of ill define life force. Assuming it's Oda, it will probably mean shaving more years of his lifespan. If so, he can just do it. We can't even say it was not previously established.
And if the alternative would be actually dying, why would he care about decreasing his life span further?
See, this is why this mechanic is frustrating. It is only to be used in life and death situation, but the consequences only matter if you survive, so there is no actual handicap to using it, since you would be dead anyways otherwise.
Even more so, because the story is unlikely to show him die of old age, it is further meaningless within context of it.
… I just don't like Law's fruit not having any actual weakness. And as you said, even his basic moves can be used creatively enough to casually destroy high level opponents, as we have seen with Trebol.

There is also something we cant be sure of - if Law cured himself completely. In Laws flashback Gladius explains stuff about White Lead poisoning and he mentions that it shortens poisoned people life as well as their children - generation after generation affecting how long they can live.
Its possible that Oda foreshadowed that even as Law saved himself his body gotten damaged in way that shortened his life.
So instead of 99 years being cut to lets say 93 Law might be left with half of time he had until his fight with Doflamingo. For example him possibly living 10 more years now is cut to half and he might die if he goes overboard again against Kaido and his men. But thats one very big IF Laws life is shorter because of lead poisoning.
We didnt gotten any scene in flashback on Law curing himself so perhaps we are yet to see it along with more info. Another big if but just consider it as small possibility.http://sur.ly/o/onepiecebay.net/AA000014 Chapter 762
Check it here. I think its possible that Law prolonged his life more than completely cured himself from all effects of long lasting White Lead poisoning that almost killed him as kid.

Seen that theory before. However, it relies on a very dangerous assumption: That Oda will kill one of his characters for little purpoes.
And let's be honest, since Pell (Who people argue actually had genuine reasons for being dead), we can safely bet on Oda not doing that. To bet on him entirely subverting his long standing rules for seemingly no reasons at all seems… unwise.
-
I'm not gonna lie, I'm getting tired of Law. However, that last part of the chapter was acceptable in my eyes because he wasn't able to do much at all physically: he was still flat on the ground, created a Room the size of a regular real life room, and just lifted a finger (if I recall all this correctly). But man, stay down and let me watch this fight uninterrupted! Been waiting for Doflamingo's moves for like a decade.
We can't throw out the fact that Law is a Shichibukai, and they're not push overs, not usually. So the fact that he's still able to pull off moves shouldn't be this surprising, plus him being a captain himself in the New World implies he wouldn't croak to an attack by an underling. So good for Law, but he should be out of the picture until the end of the arc. Besides, after this arc I doubt we'll see Law much at all until much later on, and now we know what he is capable of in regards to his power. And it is a very powerful fruit. It does come at a cost, and the uselessness of the "cost" has been discussed already so I'm not going to harp on it, regardless the cost exists. Plus it is shonen and yada yada yada
Doflamingo will be an amazing measuring stick for Luffy as a fighter.
-
He was banned because of his attitude, not his opinions.
Oh he was actually banned? I thought it was an april fools joke. I had him on block because I just couldn't take it anymore.
He'll return though and more powerful than we could possibly imagine.

Pel was secondary character while Law is guy that gotten a pretty big flashback, also is a "D" and will very likely play major role in taking down one of Yonko together with Luffy.
As for unwise- Kaido arc with all emphasis being put on him being killer has to bring some deaths so I will take my risks here.If Law manages to take down Doflamingo(he already made it certain that Doflamingo will fall on Dressrosa) and has a big role in taking down Kaido and helping Luffy on his way to One Piece then it would make his line about "everything he does before he does being Rosinantes doing as well" more meaningfull.

Despite all that i think you can agree with verus in that there is not much impact to Law using is Life force and there should have been a better weakness to it, i don't think this is something that you can get away from unless Law have some month to live One Piece time. Suppose Law life expectancy is 100 yrs and the use of his fruit in his last effort take away 10 years how much difference would it make. There is no real danger presented and that is really an issue you can't really explain your way out of, unless we see it coming into play some arcs after. I can guarantee Luffy will find One Piece in less than 4 yrs so if Law live to 50 what is the reprocussion from him using his life force now, while i think Life force have something to do with the user and the immortality opporation i don't think it limits Law fighting cabaility and handicap him in anyway so he can always use is room this may even happen in the next chapter.
-
Wait, Darth was banned for his "attitude"? He was pretty respectable to others, in fact, from what I've seen other members are the ones that start shit with him.
If attitude gets you banned, why isn't Cyan-whatshisface and Monkey D. King were banned? I mean, not that I would ban them if I were an admin, but if we're gonna start banning people for their attitude, those would be on top of my list.Unless by "attitude" you don't mean being an jerk, but "he keeps owning us in debates!", then yeah, I could see why you would ban Darth.

Sure thing that I can agree that shaving off lifespan doesnt sound like much of a penalty for power that he has in exchange.
At same time we have Law being ex-lead poisoning victim and I do think that Oda is very aware of how Laws power looks from perspective- he even named possibly most overpowered "Ope Ope no mi" so he might have something in mind when it comes to making overusing DF powers a real danger beyond shortening life. Lets wait and see. -

Do you recall that Grand Line was pirate's graveyard?
This is something Oda casually does: He hypes the threats in this way, by saying how deadly they are, but they never turn out to be so in practice, do they?
You, of course, entitled to your own opinion, but I simply don't think Oda wants to subvert it.

Yep, gotta say.. aside from the extremely bad weather and the need of a log pose…the first half of the Grand Line felt mostly weak. It's like all like as if his hype for the Grand Line was either A. False hype or B. Actually referring to the New World.
I was guessing the latter since Mihawk and the Yonko (such as Shanks) are still considered strong and the Grand Line hyped them. But yeah, the first half was far less threatening than Oda had been saying it was going to be before they got there...so I'm gonna just keep telling myself they meant the New World all along. Though it might not be true and even if it is, the New World seems to be too weak for the timeskip Strawhats so far...
-

I wasn't surprised tbh, a lot of other people were though which I found surprising. So in the end I was surprised after all. :)
Any accounts created in April will now be suspected of being Darth, Verus is a pretty good candidate at the moment as he has not responded to any of the queries put to him.

I really hope Sabo didn't show up to save the day in the explosion.
At this point I could see him showing up and absorbing it.

Shinokuni being a fluke fits really well with Cesar with being fluke of a sciencist so to say.
I meant that Law mentioned everything he does before he dies being also Rosinantes doing. So even more emphasis was put on what Law does before he DIES. With us getting more than 2 cliffhangers of him dying its like Oda is slowly introducing us to feeling of somebody like Law dying in main story.
Grand Line perhaps was hyped a lot as graveyard of pirates but at same time first part of manga had a lot lighter tone than what we get now so with tone changing, some new to story events like characters deaths could occur. Example being Doflamingo being first big bad enemy of Strawhats dying after fight with Luffy(even as Law wounded him fatally).
New thing? Surely.Same as Luffy having guts to finish off Bellamy to go after Doflamingo. Darker tone of story is there even with Mansherry to make us more comfy that Law and Bellamy wont die.
You must also remember that Law as much of a good guy he is he is also somebody who lived by revenge most of his life and that stuff most of times doesnt end well for a character.
-

Were we reading the same arguments ? Darth "owning" in an argument ? Cuz i recalled him getting constantly owned by Cyan , Robby , Monkey King , TLC , King Cannon , Galaxy9000 etc…
And this post sums up why he got banned :
Inevitable–but that's what happens when you make your forum gimmick essentially buying a ticket to Furious 7, getting angry that it isn't Citizen Kane, and yelling at people about it.
-
So his crime was being a One Piece fan who was upset about, in his eyes, a decline in quality and then posting his anger over it? Wow…that...doesn't sound like something you'd get banned for to me.

True, when he realised that he had lost he would switch to a different subject and send the thread off topic as well.
Robzilla and others tried really hard with him but he was clearly convinced of his own superiority and thus everyone else had to be wrong.
A bit like Doflamingo in the manga, but without strings… or Bellamy... or entertainment for that matter.

Ironicaly, acting entirely like him.
You do know that Mods see the IP's right?

You're right that the warlords should be formidable and I agree Law's move at the end there didn't seem to be too straining. The thing that bothers most is that it was stated multiple times that Law was really low on stamina. I agree it was stretching it, but he is so popular that I could see the goal there was to redeem him and give him a bit more panel time.
I like that he mentioned his crew and that he can't let them down. It did two things for me: 1) It was nice to see Law acting as a captain without his personal agenda in mind and 2) It showed us Law won't die and he will reunite with his crew. I like this because I've wanted to see more of how he interacts with his crew and see their characters expanded upon.

@Doffy.:
Were we reading the same arguments ? Darth "owning" in an argument ? Cuz i recalled him getting constantly owned by Cyan , Robby , Monkey King , TLC , King Cannon , Galaxy9000 etc…
"Constantly owned" Huh? Well, what can I say, some people just see what they want to see.

Because rules forbid spamming? And why should I respond to your paranoia? I'm not him, and your derailing the thread discussing it.
Ironicaly, acting entirely like him.
You do know that Mods see the IP's right?
Your response to me just makes me more suspicious to be honest, I don't really care if you are Darth or not but others are wondering.
It is not hard to get around the IP address identification and Darth would now how.

Robzilla and others tried really hard with him but he was clearly convinced of his own superiority and thus everyone else had to be wrong.
A bit like Doflamingo in the manga, but without strings… or Bellamy... or entertainment for that matter.
I think Sakazuki is the right character in the context.

True, Akainu would fit well too. :)
