@The:
True enough, but once again, Trebol would probably snipe them with his power. Stop the mount from flying, and it's no good. Also, he probably wouldn't be able to make good mounts for them in a good enough time. That bird was already struggling that one time.
Sure, you could throw out an explanation like that for them being unable to get there. hell, I'd love to see Trebol keeping an airborne Team usopp at bay with mad sniping, it'd give him some much needed credibility. Or Kanjurus drawings could fail during flight.
But whats really missing is them even making a token attempt to get there. They have a whole hour, people have been zipping across Dressrosa in less time than that, plus the birdcage is gonna force them there anyway. Them staying put and throwing up their hands in resignation is just so lame; its like if there were 4 other Giant Jacks leading up to the Maxim, but man they're like, such a hassle to climb. Might as well not bother.
Maybe if they'd left the damn plateau after Usopps sniping moment, or back when Riku had first suggested it they could've made some headway by now:ninja:

I'll stop with my DF neuroses after this one.
@King:
Like I said, it's a variation. It is visually similar, but it has a different effect. Like those custom moves of the latest Smash Bros.
Also, what gradual destruction? I know it destroys one from the inside. We know Law's ability allows him to pierce through people without hurting them like Mes. One could see this as a combination of Mes and Countershock.
My problem is exactly with it being a different effect. It makes the moves non-comparable, it makes Laws moveset yet more uncohesive, cluttered, unfocused, ill defined. If Luffy busted out a "blue Hawk" that froze people, you couldn't excuse it with "its like Red Hawk, but a different effect". Well, maybe one could, but it would still make no sense in terms of Luffys defined ability.
By gradual destruction I was referring to Doflamingo very clearly not instantly dying after Law hits him, meaning that the organ destruction Law speaks of must be an ongoing thing.
