There's also been a ton of videos by the new people that no one gives a shit about.
I mean, I know the old site design was completely unfair to the lower tier newer people, since those with seniority got to just sit at the top for literally forever and the smaller newer guys got lumped together in a bottom screen subcategory… but it also kept the site from being horrifically overrun by dozens of posters a day you just don't care about.
I've tried all of the new guys a couple times now, (i think). A couple of them seem nice or pleasant but not terribly interesting or entertaining. And while I like Some Jerk with a Camera, Dom's Lost in Translation, and was already a big fan of SFDebris... and have gotten a bit into MMO Grinder and Shameful Sequels as background noise, (so that's what, 5 out of 70? Plus Doug and Todd?) and it WAS a bit obnoxious that Doug's various projects took up the top six slots at a time when video game confessions were a year apart.... at least it wasn't over-crowded and you could easily spot when the guys you already liked did something new.
Now, even Doug's releases are easily missed. Or Todd. Or Linkara. Or whoever else floats your boat. I have to actively go to their subsection of a subsection and check to see... and it can be a month or three before it occurs to me to check someone again if they don't do something to remind me. I dunno. They HAD a category of "site sponsors" that had all the old guard in one place, but they've since been dispersed among the categories. (While Doug still gets his own column of like 12 categories.)
There's gotta be some middleground between "seniority rules over all" "everyone is given equal billing" and "new guys overshadow everything via flooding videos"
