Kirby and the Rainbow Curse will have Amiibo compatibility with the obvious 3 Kirby, Dedede, and Metaknight. Not known what they will do yet.
We kind of know, it was in the Japanese introduction trailer
Don't really understand what's going on, but it seems the Kirby one gives Kirby a warp star, Meta Knight gives it a mask, and Dedede gives it a hat. Someone who knows japanese can probably elaborate on what they actually do for gameplay.
My guesses are that Kirby makes you get bigger faster, Meta Knight makes your attacks better, and Dedede gives you more health. Based on what I see at least.

Reeeeinboou
lol b:
Maybe i will get a Wii u now.
-
I'm not interested in the game, but keep on watching that video constantly because I am amused by the voice and the constant "raainbooww!"
-
I love the art styles of Yoshi Woolly World and Kirby Rainbow Curse, but I just don't know how I feel about the games being similar in style to Kirby's Epic Yarn in terms of the difficulty just being in collecting a lot of beads or whatever
-
I fuckin love Kirby games so i do look forward to it.
Also, Holy shit i need this: http://www.play-asia.com/3ds-ll-character-soft-pouch-kirby-friends-paOS-13-49-en-70-7yib.html (Associate link here, lol)

Found this:
I'm gonna bet Falco and Wario are gonna be part of Wave 4, to help with MP10 and Star Fox's support.
@Purple:I love the art styles of Yoshi Woolly World and Kirby Rainbow Curse, but I just don't know how I feel about the games being similar in style to Kirby's Epic Yarn in terms of the difficulty just being in collecting a lot of beads or whatever
Was Epic Yarn that easy? I considered picking it up back then, but the art style kinda threw me off.
On the flip side, I really want Woolly World, even if it is easy. I haven't played a Yoshi game in ages, and New Island didn't look impressive at all.
-
idk I really loved the art style but I wasn't really fond about how the only repercussions of getting hit or falling into pits or anything was just losing some amount of beads you collected.
It's not like kirby games have ever been super difficult to play but I don't really think the system was for me

Ah, I get ya.
Sadly my Kirby experience is kinda limited: Canvas Curse, 64, Air Ride (which is a spin-off), and Amazing Mirror. But the series has always been cute, colorful, and easy-going.

Buy Super Star Ultra. You won't regret it.

Is that one of Kirby's DS adventures?
Also how is Triple Deluxe, I was eyeing that game back in May.

It's good and the one i'm mentioning is the port of Kirby star ultra from SNES which i think is one of the best (if not the best) Kirby.

Noted, thanks.
Also I played very little of Kirby's Adventure, forgot to mention that.

I also have to post this:

I kind of echo what Prismeru is saying. Fact is, you haven't actually played the best Kirby games. Those aren't bad games, of course, but they're far from the main games. Even 64 is kind of too easy.
Super Star Ultra, Nightmare in Dreamland, Return to Dreamland, Triple Deluxe … these are notably missing. Triple Deluxe kind of pales compared to the others but it's still pretty good and I really enjoyed the powers in it and the boss battles and post-game content.
Also missing the mother of all Kirby side-games: Kirby Tilt n' Tumble. Fun stuff.

After being usted back down to non platinum on Club Nintendo (for some reason) I finally clawed my way back up. Now what to do with these coins.
-
You mean recently? Because that's just a harmless glitch that happens often. Club Nintendo's site is not the most stable…

Yeah I hit Platinum months ago but could never figure out why I got dropped back down.

Well, if it was around July when your slate was wiped clean, then you got bumped down because the Club Nintendo year starts on July 1st and ends on June 30th.

Kind of dumb really.

Shovel Knight is on sale on the eshop.
I'm not interested but may as well buy it. With all the acclaim it gets, ten dollars is the cheapest it'll be for a long time
-
Shovel Knight is godly. Buy it now.
-
Already did. But the question is when will I get around to playing it
-
Good, good. ,

Return to Dreamland almost seduced my wallet when it came out.
I mean…..multiplayer. Meta Knight, Dedede, and Banana Dee?!
Also missing the mother of all Kirby side-games: Kirby Tilt n' Tumble. Fun stuff.
The pinball game for the game boy? I actually have that! XD
-
Went to both target and best buy in the past couple days..only amiibos left were peach and donkey kong.. I'm planning to get rosalina in April since all I have for now is villager, which so far seems only a smash exclusive character
-
@CCC:
Soooo…given that I probably won't be able to get the Gamecube controller adapter at a reasonable price for a while (don't want the Gamestop bundle with four controllers...), do you guys recommend the Wii U pro controller? Not just for Smash, but in general? I've never played a wii u before and don't personally know anyone who owns one, so I honestly have no idea how useful/relevant the pro is over the included gamepad thing.
Still interested in that Gamecube controller? PlayAsia seems to be selling their own third party GameCube adapter and controller.

Finally checked out the new 3ds themes
[hide][/hide]
I gotta say I love hearing the snake eater theme at my home menu
-
Surprised Mugen hasn't come by to tell us of how he just Waluigied $200 on eBay.
Wonder if this will be only the beginning of people making their own amiibo.
-
Pretty damn awesome job by this guy
-
Now let's all wait till Nintendo shuts it down, lol. I hope they won't.
-
I don't question his skill because I could never hope in a million years to be able to do something like that, but it looks kind of … off.
-

Wow… I really hope this is able to reach completion. I wish Nintendo themselves would do something like this though too.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
but it looks kind of … off.
I see what you mean, kind of. The colors and such are a bit off (Mario's model for example), but I'm sure it's just a symptom of development.
-
It has that thing where the colors look dark with shiny spots added for HD prettiness, but while that would work for Galaxy (the mario series, not the user :ninja:) because of the outer space motif, it looks wonky in 64 which is supposed to be super colorful.
-
Maybe that will change when he gets closer to finishing. It seems like he is making this more to show off his abilities. Like the HD majora's mask guys.
Nintendo said recently that they would allow fan projects so I could only see this being cancelled if they were planning something similar. Or if this guy tries to make money from this
-

Unlikely as they just made it to where people can use their IP's for fan made things, such as this.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
About it being off it's likely due to the colors Mario's outfit and the castle roofing (among other things) have rather faded coloring
-
Looks interesting. Camera positioning brought back some bad memories though.
In conclusion, I would happily play the game again with old models and tweaked movement and camera controls. No shiny stuff needed imho. Maybe Mario then should get more damage from enemies and falls so it won't be too easy after that
-
I'm with Noqanky. Everything is way too shinyweird.
-
For some reason he is using the brawl models for peach and mario. For the peach model it has been made brighter and looks fine but mario hasn't been changed really and it's weird.
-
This is kinda old, but did anyone see this interview with the great Koji Kondo?

We have enough major franchise games coming out this year, and new cool IPs like Splatoon. I don't mind waiting until next year, especially if they make one that doesn't suck (like a sequel to Sunshine).
-
It will be that Robot Chicken Short at the E3 2014 all over again.
Wait, what about Mario Maker? -

implying 3D World sucked? :ninja:
edit: but in all seriousness, I'm cool with waiting too. Let Mario pass the spotlight to the other series of Nintendo (namely Starfox, Kirby, Yoshi, and Splatoon)
-
Yeah, with all the other properties coming out this year, that's fine for me too.
In other news, the original 3DS is being discontinued in the US and UK.
-

Yeah… I mean maybe that's a bit harsh; I'd instead call it the wrong direction for Mario. Slapping a timer on it and having schizophrenic gameplay elements is bleh, especially when they're sort of saying "here's this weird crazy playground but you're not allowed to stop and play." Especially when you cobble together co-op for it. IMO it destroys the 3D Mario experience. The Galaxy games already took a step toward linearity with compact and directed gameplay, but it was really tight gameplay with fantastic atmosphere, music, and a cohesive vision really. But I'd take another one of those if I had to since they had a lot of cool gameplay ideas to explore. Like I said though, what we really need is a Sunshine sequel (with or without Fludd).
-
Like I said though, what we really need is a Sunshine sequel (with or without Fludd).
FLUDD is pretty much the gimmick of Sunshine, so I hope it sticks around if a sequel is ever made.
Just no motion controlled FLUDD… haha.
-
Like I said though, what we really need is a Sunshine sequel (with or without Fludd).
I appreciate Sunshine a lot, not just because it was a really really fun game, but because it did something fresh with Mario. Fludd was great. And - perhaps I am in the minority of this - putting the red plumber in a tropical island instead of the usual Mushroom Kingdom helped to expand the Marioverse me thinks. New sights.
And the Galaxy games did the same thing in this regard with space. So really, a big part of me is wondering where could Mario's next grand adventure be, you know? It's a relatively minor thing to fixate on, although a 64/Sunshine open world could really make this pop.
-
I really liked the FLUDD actually. Not only did it fit Mario's actual profession to some extent but, more importantly, it opened up the platforming. It was a sequel to SM64 in a very real way since it took the gameplay elements and expanded upon them with the addition of more options, unlike Galaxy which really reduced player freedoms.
-

And a whopping 1 game announced for the New 3DS
