Where to find good scans for Part 4, please help?
@Monkey:
Where to find good scans for Part 4, please help?
Reading the terrible DUWANG scans is the best way to read part 4.
If you want boring actually good quality scans, though, Batoto has them.
Conspiracy theory:
! Part 3 = Alabasta
Some person with a bird thing, hailing from a desert area, asks the main character to help take down a bad guy who is currently that very same desert area. So they take a perilous journey to that desert place, while being attacked/chased by the big boss' subordinates. The main character initially seemed unique in his ability, save for one in his own home turf, but along his path he finds that there are tons of others with the 'same kind' of super powers. They find a new friend, despite initial animosity, but lose a friend. (Not necessarily in that order). But he was alive all along. A bird dude(not necessarily the same one mention earlier) dies, and has an emotional death sequence, but is later revealed to have been alive all along, undermining the whole point.
! When compared to it's previous arcs, this arc, when counted as a whole, is way longer than the ones before. The villain has been hyped up as the end goal and today is still considered a classic villain. There is a showdown in the desert city, and against a great disadvantage, pulls out a victory. The conclusion to the fight might have been slightly contrived, but the fight was still thrilling and awesome throughout anyway. Classic arc.
! Part 4 = Skypiea
When compared to the other arcs, this one stands out as the black sheep. It's longer than the others and sometimes overlooked, but some consider it to be the best arc. Many could consider the arc to be a side track with no plot progression, but it does introduce some important elements to the overall story, and it would be odd to leave it out. Compared to the previous arc, which involved a "linear" journey across several different areas to get to their destination, this arc stays in one area. They may explore different parts of the area, but they are still technically in one place. Thus it has a stronger sense of world building in a certain way.
The villain is greatly different than his others, with different motivations than the others. Has loyal followers, but is distanced from them in a different way than the previous villain.
! Part 5 = Enise Lobby
More serious and tries to be "cool" and because of that it picked up more popularity. Many characters are stoic and serious faced at times, but at the very least there are some quirks beneath them. The villain is the most boring villain in the entire series, but he is super strong and the main character has to use power ups to defeat him. But it's arguable whether he's the real antagonist, there's one with more character(I mean Spandam is Doppio)They are attacked by a secret squad of assassins. These killers are semi loyal to their leader. This saga could technically be divided into two acts, with the same story but different directions.
! Also there's a fight on a train. Coincidence? I think not!
! *may contain some generalizations
*Part 6 could be thriller bark. Stand discs = shadows.
I am reading part 6 and up until prison fight with old guy that
! drinks his urine it was pretty much perfect JoJo arc.
Maybe not 100% perfect but it was pretty amazing and then old fart fight that I dont care about (at all) is so freaking long that it reminds me some meh fights from part 3..
Is it getting better after it or should I expect repetition and few more fights like that or there are more as awesome fights as the one with Jumpin Jack Flash?
Also is there a gap in quality of art between part 6 and 7? 6 is eyecandy at many moments already.

Kenzo, the Dragon Dream guy? Yeah, that fight is a bore.
Next there comes some pretty weird shit… I´m not sure you will enjoy. It´s just... weird. There are some good fights, I´m just not sure about how you will feel about some of stuff that happens in the middle.
Also, I would not say it´s a huge gap, but there is some difference. 7´s art is amazing

I expect some bizarre things but S-F Jumpin Jack Flash was one of my favourite designs/ fights in series so if there is more of that than I cant wait if not as it sounds - good to know not to get my hopes up
From part 7 I just seen some glimpses and Gryos design is absolutely great but I dont know how good is part 7. Part 6 was a blast for me until Urine guy.
If I would rank parts It would be:
2 > 6(as it is till now) > 4 > 5 and 1 > 3
The prison is the worst part in part 6, it will only get better and better.
And part 7 is where the art changes radically, in the beginning it's still old jojo (which is cool) but after that you'll notice how the art becomes even cooler.
Also part 7 has a great story overall, it's easily one of the best parts and it breaks the repetitiveness of the arcs before where things start very slow and become fantastic.
It's great from the start till the end.

@NER:
after reading all of jojo, I dont think I will ever be bothered to read any manga ever again after seeing that page..
Don't worry i completely understand, nothing will reach the standards of that page

It´s the meaning of life.
No, really. It is.
The parfait talk was easily the highlight of Jojolion for me so far. Oh, and the dick Stand metaphor.
You mean your asshole stand metaphor? Geez, get your obscene metaphors straight!
Araki must hate himself for not thinking about that metaphor waaaay back in Part 3.
Timestamps don't work with embedding apparently
According to Araki, he has a bad memory.
!
It's truly a testament to how damn entertaining JoJo is that everyone easily overlooks the abundant plot holes and inconsistencies where a less fun and more self-serious show would crucified on the spot.
It's also a testament to how cool the fanbase is that you don't have an army of deluded fans trying too hard to pretend those plot holes aren't there, but instead you have JoJo fans making fun of that themselves in a benelovent way.
It's also like 900+ chapters, it's complicated to remember everything.

Wtf…
The Okuyasu part scared me
Just wanted to run through to share a pic of Medicos Kars with the new Magma Effect from Bandai:
More pictures when my Joseph and Caesar arrive!!
That looks pretty cool!
I was thinking of starting with this manga. I got plenty of free time and I like long series. Which would be the best site to read it?
(Excuse my English)
Bato.to has all of them
Who wants to shit their pants?
!
Sweet dreams
Kewl´s translation of 37 in case anyone is interested.

Huge spoiler:
! His Stand Ability…!! The 'heat' that took the temperature to 60 degrees, Higashikata Joubin's 'Stand Ability'.
He's a 'Stand User'. He's controlling it by melting the wax.
Behind the scenes, this stag beetle fight has been a Stand battle.
The ability to manipulate 'temperature'.
I'll pretend I "didn't see it" for now, though.
I expected him to be some sort of 'Stand User' from the start...... So that's what it was?

YES YES YES
Opening by Diggy Mo, ending "Egypt (The Chains Are On)" by Dio. Make it happen, David Pro.
I want Holy Diver :(
You favorite manga about gory beetle battles just released a new chapter! Now with extra animal cruelty!
Next week: more beetle amputations? Stay tuned!
So… how screwed would you be if you were Zeppeli family dog in JoJo's?
Finished part 7.
It gave me smiliar feeling to how I felt after finishing Chimera Ant arc in Hunter x Hunter or Enies Lobby in One Piece - fantastic piece of manga.
There was more potential to juice in few moments but it kept awesome quality of action, story and art through entire thing not dropping dramatically like part 6 that was awesomely made at most moments and then really badly done in few other places.
What should I expect from JoJolion ?
I was ready for a Cowboy Story before I started Steel Ball Run but now I know only design of main character and I gotten spoiled on fact that Johnny from part 7
! died….............................................................................................................................making spoiler long so people dont get to figure out that he died without looking at spoiler lol I gotten to know by accident on google graphics..

I like how this manga is so good it got me invested in the abuse of beetles.
Here we see the genesis of Pokemon.
Gen 7 feature: Trepanation and killer performance enhancers.
I'm just posting because I want to share my opinion and understand the JoJo love. Keep in mind that I only follow the anime, and have read the manga up to where the anime is.
So, talking about the anime. It is so horribly bad that I can't understand how anyone can like it. It's slow paced to levels I have never imagined before. The characters are fucking retarded in everywhere possible way. I mean, hell, there's people here that complain about Bleach, and then talk abut how good this is.
I don't fucking get it. Lost my train of thought, but whatever. This series is so overrated it's not even funny.
It could get better, yes. But still, I don't understand how anyone would get past part 3. And yeah, everyone has tastes and bla bla. Whatever.
Feel better now :)
!
Jojo, the anime, slow…
I don't even.. Every chapter is around half a volume/a volume of material, while the reasons of most fights are "dio told me to" and the end result of most fights is "ORAORAORAORA" in the face, the point from "there's an attack!" and "ORAORAORA" is varied and interesting enough to keep enough people interested to allow Araki to live the life of an inmortal fairy king for 25+ years.
Stupid? In what possible way? We know enough of their tought patterns to know even if they make mistakes why and what they forgot to take into account.
By stupid I mean, there's things that are obvious and they just fall for them. They are in danger, somebody wants to kill them and it takes 15 minutes for them to realize it. It's like watching some 4 year olds show. I don't expect everybody to be a Light Yagami here… but c'mon.
I know I obviously came off as a hater, but I don't want to be one. There are many things about the series that I like, but I feel like there's more negatives than positives... Just wanted to let it out...
Polnaref always falls for them, the rest are usualy either away or already know and are ready for a counterattack. When they all fall for it, is either the cases where there are too many stand user candidates or the stand is overwhelmingly powerful.
Joseph usualy had a plan and if it didn't work, then the ancient joestar family technique, and Jhonatan was more of "I'm a gentleman, so everyone is!!"

I remember that one time I drilled a hole into my Groudon and filled it up with Wax…

Jojo is quite good at awesome endings, I guess practice makes perfect.
! In Stardust Crusaders, Joseph listening to his Walkman(loved that), The drive through the rain in Stone Ocean, and the ending in Steel Ball Run especially.
! Johnny standing on the side of the ship, recalling his long and arduous journey…breathing in the ocean air(that's how I interpreted it),saying good bye to his greatest friend (friend!) and finally that double spread with the clouds and the ship sailing off into the darkness...That feels....
As for Jojolion, expect beetle battles…and other oddities.
Beetleborgs is probably on the normal side of fights tbh
"I just so happen to have drilled and waxed this beetle on the off chance I'd have to gamble my car within the ~20 minutes left in it's life"
I can't wait until they drive around Italy in their new golden Lamborgini that they won in by sabotaging a sabotaged beetle fight.

With reference to the manga, let's see how oblivious they are.
Tower of Gray: Look, a beetle. It must be a stand! Catch it Jotaro!
Silver Chariot: On guard the moment Polnareff seemed suspicious
Dark Blue Moon: All sailors had a background check. And Jotaro seemed suspicious of the Captain from the beginning.
Strength: Okay, walking onto a empty was a bad idea, but the knew that there might be stand user
Devil: Polnareff knew he was hiding in the fridge instantly. He was caught off guard after believe he had defeated devo with stabs to the face.
Yellow Temperance: Suspicious of Kakyoin. No way of knowing he was impersonated.
Hanged Man and Emperor: Attacked in the toilet.
Empress: Bacterial infections seemd normal enough. It's not like the enemy was hiding or anything.
Wheel of Fortune: Uh…well....it could have been an asshole driver...sort of....
Justice: Polnareff is an idiot, but Jotaro saw it coming.
Lovers: Attacking a roadside hawker is pure paranoia, but Steely Dan revealed himself immediately
The Sun was a big joke anyway
Death 13: Removed any memories of being in the dream, so there's no way of confirming suspicions. I do think bringing the stand into the dream cam out of nowhere though.
Judgement: To Polnareff's credit, he attacked him as first instinct. Temptation gave way, I suppose.
High Priestess: Recognised threat immediately. Heck, they even worked out the stand's power and name.
So in conclusion, most of these cases are recognized very quickly as Stand attacks and counter attacks are indeed attempted.
What should I expect from JoJolion ?
The pace is slower, but the plot seems to shift from action to mystery, so that may be on purpose.
I actually enjoy the fights, but the dialogue is definitely the high point.
The protagonist Stand is broken like fuck. This is a bad thing.
But his poses are so wonderful, i can only forgive Araki.
It´s easier to get hooked on SBR than JJLion (Read as Evangelion, not the animal)
Also about the pace thing, Stardust crusader's fights aren't just a guy showing up and they thrown down for 7 chapters. The episode, whether 1 or 2, spends time on other stuff, like travelling. SC is a globetrotting part, so about a third is spent talking about the location and stuff(camels, kebabs and toilets) which you don't see in Bleach.
Bleach often wastes time with unnecessarily big, empty panels. In contrast, big panels in SC tend to have a purpose and are well drawn (late part, you get to see a really awesome double spread)
