Hoping for a Greninja and Charizard announcement …
The Nintendo Thread

Welp, looks like the 3DS is cracked. Homebrew community is set to release a hack, all you'll need is a copy of Cubic Ninja. The game was super cheap, down to 5 bucks all over, but is now selling out and skyrocketing in price online. The community behind the hack is taking a firm "no piracy" stance but, c'mon… give people a tool and they will exploit it.
Hopefully this doesn't lead to publishers not localizing games anymore like they did with the PSP...
I'm not going to mess with it unless two things are able to be done:
1: Region-unlocking
2: Prevent Nintendo firmware updates but still be able to update necessary files like the Wii exploits. -
I'm not jailbreaking my 3DS until either A: I get a New 3DS, rendering my old one no longer necessary to have, or B: Nintendo stops sending out firmware updates.
We don't yet know what might happen in regards to Nintendo patching out this stuff, and I do NOT want my system getting bricked.
-
I already have to compromise giving money to gamestop for shulk, if they force me to somehow find a wal-mart or order from their shitty online store just to get Rosalina, Imma be pissed.
-
Hey everyone. I know we're all celebrating Smash Day with the Wii U version releasing, but check out the Musou Warriors thread when you have a chance.
I've updated it with new info on Hyrule Warriors' Twilight Princess DLC pack coming next week, including renders of some of the content. :)

Well I got a couple Amiibo's in the mail today and wow they are a lot smaller than I imagined them to be.
Maybe its cause I saw too many videos of them in 1080p on my big monitor zoomed in, but was really showcked at how tiny they look. Feels like I could play chess or something with them.
Haven't opened them from box yet, but from what I can tell they look really cool. Sure a drop in quality since first pics, but I'm still really impressed and happy with their looks.
-
Today … well, yesterday ... felt like some strange early Nintendo christmas.
Like everywhere people were talking smash and pokemon, and then arrive at home to break open the new smash and the amiibo and just ... my god, what a day. Waiting to see later in the month just how much money went their way yesterday.

Guys when I said Nintendo owns my soul, I wasn't kidding.
My brother and I have got 7 amiibos in only five days @_@

So is Dual Destinies good? I mean, it's at 50%

It's definitely easier than the previous AA games, complete with handholding, but it still retains the charm and good points of the older games, so I'd say it's worth getting.
-
Pretty much that.

Can someone explain this?

bought The Wonderful 101 on Nintendo's Black Friday deal.
Interested to see how it is.

By the way, Darksiders II is still on sale for $10 on the eShop, in case anyone wants to get it.

Sorry if this is a dumb [series of] questions, but…
I might finally be getting a Wii U for Christmas, so I want to know what exactly I can transfer from my old Wii. I've seen Nintendo's handy transfer guide video on youtube, but I'm still unclear on a few things...
-Can all NES, SNES, and N64 VC games and saves be transferred via the SD card process?
-Do I need to pay extra and/or download the games again on Wii U once the license or whatever is transferred?
-What about ordinary indie games that I bought on Wii, like La Mulana? Will those transfer as well?
-Will Vanilla Wii game saves transfer as well? -

-Will Vanilla Wii game saves transfer as well? All of that transfers and is accessible through the wii mode on the wii u. But everything transfers and erases anything you have on the wii mode already. If that is nothing then it's fine.
The only paying you have to do is if you want access to the VC titles on the wii u mode and get all of the extra benefits that gives but you will get that at a discount price (like £1 for nes games)
-

Thanks! Yeah I guess I don't care about ever touching the Wii again if literally everything is transferred.
…But wait. You're saying even Wii game saves will be deleted from the source Wii!?

Yep. If you want to play your save files again, you'll need to play the Wii game via the Wii U's Wii mode.
-
Fascinating. Thanks for the help, guys!
-
Tho, if the save is regularly transferable, there's nothing stopping you from using an SD Card and just copying them back.
Also, I had no idea Splatoon was first party Nintendo developed by Nintendo EAD. I suddenly have MUCH more confidence in the game and am kind looking forward to it.

I'm kind of curious as to what developer/team you thought was handling it.
And yea, I'm rather hyped on Splatoon as well. I love the style and the presentation and it looks like fun. Characters look solidly designed, unique … it has the classic Nintendo charm.
-
I never realized Splatoon was developed by Nintendo either, I just thought it was a third party Wii U exclusive that Nintendo was really excited about.
And I'm excited for it as well, it looks so fun!
-
They said it was developed by the same team who makes animal crossing.
Also i have been thinking recently that nintendo should invested in a nintendo EAD USA team. i'm rather surprsied they don't have any usa divisions
-
Splatoon mixes colorful shooting (to cover the ground with paint to claim territory, no less), platforming, puzzles, and your expected wacky Nintendo designs.
I was on the fence at e3 but the direct really drew me in.

2,500 for a defect Amiibo…..wha?

To be fair, it is Samus dual-wielding cannons
-
Yeah, that amiibo wasn't a defect. It was clearly a limited edition one of a kind samus

Welp, expect fakes to crop up on auction soon as I imagine this is easy to fake. All you gotta do is buy two Samus amiibos, take her left arm off, then the right arm off another, and glue it on. As for the "Factory Seal" if someone wants to go that far that is also easily faked with a knife and glue.

I wonder if someone will go the extra mile and start fusing amiibos.
Show me Yoshi's feet with Samus's torso, Peach's arms, Pikachu's tail….and Villager's head.

OK, so I've wanted to pick up Watch_Dogs, but only having primary access to a Wii U, I decided to wait for the Wii U version to hit and see how it was. Now, one annoying thing is, when I look for someone actually doing a side-by-side comparison between the versions, it's apparently on-par with the PS3 version and even has better framerates than the PS3 version in some areas… but... it got a lot of negative reviews. Like, the Metacritic Score is 55/100 for Wii U whereas it was 77/100 for the PS3/360.... but I can't find a video demonstrating that the Wii U version runs worse... all the negative reviews are basically "It's the same game as the PS3 version, so I'm giving it bad score because we had to wait longer for it".
Can someone (especially anyone who has played it) actually tell me if there is really some kind of big problem with the Wii U version that makes the PS3 version oh so much better? How does it stack up specifically against the PS3 version? If I'm interested in the game, is the Wii U version worth buying?

It just sounds like people are pissed that
- the port took fucking forever to come out
- optimization is pretty shitty and it sounds like there's some framerate drops from time to time.
But it sounds like otherwise it's the same game with the DLC so if you really want to play it and have no other option then go for it
-
Yesssssss. Funny coincidence that I went browsing the vc recently and left really disappointed and confused at fire emblem not being there.
-
Fantastic. The best Fire Emblem game, imo, finally on VC.
Looks like my new avatar was timed properly ^^

Holy s**t
I still have the original GBA game, but that's awesome! Maybe I should get it to play it on a big TV screen.

if that's the same one the ambassadors got a couple years ago, glad the rest of the Nintendo fans have it now, it's pretty fun, although a bit difficult on some maps

It's not. It's the first Fire emblem game that was localized which features Lyn, Hector, and Roy's old man Eliwood.

We got "Sacred Stones", not this one.

I'll be waiting for the inevitable butthurt that'll happen when it's announced it'll play nothing like Mario Story and Paper Mario RPG.
And how Miyamoto should stop putting himself in matters that don't concern him
-
I hope they go back to turn-based combat if they make another one. But otherwise that would be pro. RAWK HAWK LIVES!

I was excited for Paper Mario 3DS, and look at what happened. Even if a Paper Mario does happen for Wii U, I will reserve my excitement. Been burned too many times.
