I immediately thought of her too when I saw that, maybe it's her kid. She is pretty old you know.
It´s a flashback :)…don´t say she´s pretty old while still rocks!

Just when I thought this flashback couldn't get any better, Oda does it. Damn. Everything's falling into place and I'm guessing it all ends next chapter. :(
So I guess the Heart Pirates' jolly roger is designed in dedication to Cora's smile:

Awesome find!
@Light:
Look, Bepo isn't Rocinante! There's no sensible reason he would have kept it hidden from Law and he wouldn't have let him go against Doffy by himself. Bepo is just a talking animal like Pekoms. It's gonna be explained later on.
yeah, maybe you're right, especially since we never seen him being clumsy.
One of those times I wish vegabond was still here. Okay, which new account is vega?
And the best part of this? If Law figured out how to use his DF just a little earlier, he'd have been able to save Corazon. He's got literally the perfect DF for escaping the birdcage with someone who is critically wounded. Damn he must feel like shit for this.
Also, I'm going to bet that the heart insignia Law uses for his Jolly Rodger is referencing that smile. It might also explain why DD's is that face crossed out–"Death to Traitors" sort of a thing. Though it does raise the question about why DD couldn't see Law coming.
Another great chapter! Though it made me love Rocinante even more, which will only make it more unbearable when he dies ç___ç
On another (happier) note, it was great that Oda and Kishimoto referenced each other's series!
So why has Law never told the marines that Vergo was a spy for Dofla?
So why has Law never told the marines that Vergo was a spy for Dofla?
Because he didn't know he was a spy for the marines until Cora got dummied by him….
Very brutal and dark chapter. Amazing art.
Fantastic chapter, Cora reminded me of Hiluluk there.
Because of Law giving the letter to the one marine that he shouldn't have, every heartbreaking stuff in the last 10 years in Dressrosa wouldn't have happened. Great.
That marine lady looks familiar and notable, but definitely not shakky. I was thinking Nami's mom but pretty sure her design is different.
Because he didn't know he was a spy for the marines until Cora got dummied by him….
This is a flashback yeah? I'm asking since he knows from this point why up until the present hasn't he told them? He's a warlord so he's obviously been dealing with the WG.
If law did that then we wouln't have the dressrosa arc would we.
Cause if he did it would be obvious who told, and he was still playing along like he was a member hatching this plan to sabotage him and get revenge for Roci.
This is a flashback yeah? I'm asking since he knows from this point why up until the present hasn't he told them? He's a warlord so he's obviously been dealing with the WG.
Because Doflamingo would find him and kill him, plus he had the plan to take down Doflamingo which is currently in motion.
What are you guys even talking about? Getting Vergo kicked out of the marines has very little to do with his current plan and the only negative really would have been Vergo being away doing marine stuff instead of with Doffy.
And Doffy is going to try to find him and kill him anyway at this point since he ate the fruit unless Corasan convinces them he ate it and dies "with it" or something cheesey like that.
Though it does raise the question about why DD couldn't see Law coming.
Too much trust in his family. Only when are the main character should you have that much faith .Dofla already has his flag.
Because Doflamingo would find him and kill him, plus he had the plan to take down Doflamingo which is currently in motion.
Not to mention credibility.
If Law, a well-known and feared criminal, came and told the Marines that one of their top-ranked men was a traitor, would they believe him?
This is a flashback yeah? I'm asking since he knows from this point why up until the present hasn't he told them? He's a warlord so he's obviously been dealing with the WG.
Why would anyone believe him?
If Buggy came in and said Akainu is a spy of Kaidou, who would believe him?
We know Doflamingo doesn't try to kill Law and was saving the heart seat for him, i'm also pretty sure Vergo said that they were monitoring him. If law told the marines that vergo was a spy, then Doflamingo would find him and kill him and Law wouldnt be able to go ahead with his plan to crush Doflamingo.
I can't really feel bad about Rici since he betrayed his brother's trust.
Vergo really is a valuable asset even when he is not trying. What were the odds of Vergo receiving that letter. Rocinente really is in a bad day. I like how mad Vergo is at Rocinente for betraing them.
I wonder who die in this Birdcage? Everyone including the marines?
That is one freaky smile anyway.
Oda seems to have made a mistake, Buffalo should still be a kid, but he's an adult in that pic
He is still a kid but hes big.
Hmm, its only been 6 months since Law & Corazon left. Before Buffalo wasn't THAT big. I'd say that he's gotten his DF during the 6 months and it led to a increase in height.

You mean the trust of his psychopathic brother?

Wouldn't him being a well known criminal be a good point in his case. It's not like he has a real reason to make that up and at least they would investigate.

He would need evidence to make such an accusation.
If not, he would just be called insane.
Ask yourself when was the last time Law met Doffy and Vergo after Cora death and the first bird cage and you may get your answer

Best theory cause he is definitely way too big.
It was an OK chapter, but I can't help feeling this flashback has started to drag a little
I know tons of people just can't get enough of Law's backstory but I can't really get into it
Hoping it's gonna be over soon…
This flashback is turning out to be better than the entire arc.

Telling the Marines that Vergo is a spy isn't really all the helpful with regards to Law's plans to start with. Like right now, Law is the only person who isn't an executive in Doflamingo's family that knows that Vergo is one. If the Marines suddenly find that bit of information out and believe it enough to act on it, Doflamingo's probably going to figure out where it came from. Whatever Law's up to after Cora-san dies, it's pretty clear that taking revenge on Doflamingo is one of his prime objectives. Tipping off the Marines isn't going to do much on it's own wrt Vergo. It hurts his operations somewhat, but it's also going likely going to put Law back on Doflamingo's shit list, so it's actually better to bide his time and wait until he's in position to actually do some damage to Doflamingo and his family, which is what he does.
so corazon is not good in combat at all, he only have the corazon chair because is doula brother?
so corazon is not good in combat at all, he only have the corazon chair because is doula brother?
I would rather say he is quite decent compared to your average pirate, but definitely not on Vergo's level. Especially after his own clumsiness rewarded him with a body full of bullets (Curse you Oda! Why is it that flashback characters are the only ones who are not impervious to bullets ? :ninja:)
So Rocinente reunited with Dofla at 22 and Dofla himself was 25 when Law joined. So at best he joined 2 years prior to Law.

I am not saying saying he should( I don't try to get Law plan and motives anymore). I am saying he could.
I can't really feel bad about Rici since he betrayed his brother's trust.
I can feel bad since his brother is literally Hitler and Roci just wanted to stop genocides
He's not obligated to be loyal to a psychopathic murderer just because they share DNA
No offense to Doffy btw
So from this chapter we learned that Doflamingo is 5yrs older than his brother Roci.
So Roci will be 35yrs old if he was still alive.
Is the guy sitting across from luffy supposed to be naruto

Uh, no.
First, Rosi joined at 22, and it's been 2 years since Law joined, so he's 24 at minimum.
Second, if Rosi disappeared when he was 8, then I guess it's safe to assume that happened when 10-year old Doffy killed Homing. That would make Rosi 2 years younger than Doula.
Right now, Doula is 27-28 (depends on whether he had a birthday during the 6 months Law and Rosi spent away). That would mean Rosi was 25-26 at death. If he were alive, he would be 39.
Could it be that Naruto's author used the last page of his lifework as One Piece advertising ?

I am not saying people shouldn't. Oda wrote it so we feel bad so it is quite normal to feel sorry. I just happen that it doesn't work with me. I tend to value trust over pretty much everything and they are brothers.

So what if they're brothers?
If anything, Doula broke the trust first by killing Homing, who Rosi loved.

Oda gave him a whole cover, so Kishi gave him a nod on the last page of the last chapter of his manga, good trade imo.

It seems like it.
Last page of Naruto.

He doesn't want his brother to do bad things. It ain't like he prefers Sengoku over Doffy. Or does he ?
But I agree that never talking to his brother isn't really cool.

I guess it's the price you pay for stealing Jinbe's place.
By the way, I saw this pointed out on Tumblr and found it interesting enough to share here.

What do you think? It would be cool if this really is a reference.
I don't get it. What in the world will stop Dofla from hunting down a little kid? He has all reason to hate Law TO DEATH. And then he let this traitor grow even stronger. Have they ever met as shichibukai?
Rocinente is surely one resistant dude. He still has the energy to move around after getting shot multiples time and got beat down by Vergo. I wonder if the Dofla will be the one to find them or if Vergo will bring them to him.
I really don't like Vergo's haircut.@RamistaR:

Considering he came 14 years later as a traitor and pretented to be mute, I would say he has quite some animosity towards Dofla.

plus, he wanted to kill vergo with his own hands.

Baaaaahohohohohoho! That's nice. I hope it's the real thing. But even if it is, Oda might leave it at that. Like he did with Blueno and Kalifa's dads in Ohara. Confirmed eventually in the SBS.

Law is still a kid so Doflamingo probably don't hold as responsible as Roci. Law is suppose to reminded him his past self and 6 months Law still couldn't stand his brother. I think the Roci situation does prove he tends to trust his family until there can't be no doubt.

perhaps it's an acknowledgement of their rivalry
