When do you guy's think we will get a Sunny Team update i miss Sanji?
Chapter 765: Minion, the Island of Fate

Marines happened to suck at capturing pirates so no worries. Law isn't unjustified since he is taking revenge for Doflamingo killing his important person. That Doflamingo had reason doesn't change that.
But that Doflamingo has more than logical reasons changes the whole view on Laws reasoning from the readers eye. The seriousness of revenge loses a lot of impact.
-
Since Roci is obviously lying to Law, do you guys think Law ever learned that was was a Marine, or will it be something that Doflamingo reveals after the flashback? Doffy did say at one occasion that laws grudge was based on a "Miss-understanding" or something.
-
Rocinante (Spanish pronunciation: [roθi'nante]) is Don Quixote's horse in the novel Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes. In many ways, Rocinante is not only Don Quixote's horse, but also his double: like Don Quixote, he is awkward, past his prime, and engaged in a task beyond his capacities.
He isn't a liar in my opinion I believe Cora is a Shichibukai of sorts or working with the revolutionary army. His character fits the role of a spy and so do his powers.
I fanboyed in last chapter's thread about how I hope if Cora is actually killed in the past that he would be forced by Doffy to eat the ope-ope no mi because Doffy wouldn't know about Cora allready having a fruit which he kind of gave me the feeling not many knew about his powers so it kind of made sense to me.
That way our poor poor Cora wouldn't die without at least teaching his fans about what happens when someone eats two fruits and possibly showing Cora somehow using that hax ope-ope fruit that he had just ate combined with the power of will and his last moments of life to transfer the fruit to Law and sacrifice himself to save his life.
I can't help but wonder if Homing's wife was a D. Sengoku showed interest in Ace about him being a D.and now we see Cora knowing all about them and Cora and Sengoku having a direct connection and some form of relationship. I wonder if Oda is about to pop the top on this can of D's. er uh D bag?

The simple fact that Oda made Marco speculate in the first place probably means he's right
No.
Oda hid how Teach obtained the 2nd fruit, but the reason on how he managed to survive it was already hinted with Marco.
Read above. Marco aquestioned his own speculation. A speculation is a guess about something that isn't known. It's not made with firm evidence.
The main point is no one can have more that 1 DF with Teach being the exception.
Which will most likely be proven false in the future.
It's completely naive to assume that no one else will be able to gain another DF ability throughout the series when we know for a fact that it can be done.
-
Am I the only one paying attention to the details while reading ? Not sure if it was mentioned before but Oda put a nice reference in the chapter. Well it's been awhile since it was relevent to the story so I can understand if you guys didn't see it sooner. Even though it was hidden right under our noses. You can see it in the backgroud during Doffy's call. Left bottom panel.
It's so clear to me now!
Bump!–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I think Vergo is gonna beat Law with a piece of stale bread he finds on his cheek.
I don't want to dive into the whole blackbeard and 2 devilfruit thing but I will say you can look in my old post's and see my opinion on that topic. (coming from the guy that thought Luffy had Ace's devilfruit after the timeskip without anyone knowing it after I saw him use Red Hawk on FI. The only reason i'm posting about this is to show that it's just too early to be certain about the DF/BB double fruit topic and we just have to accept that and agree to speculate in a somewhat open minded way until we get more information... Remember its fuuuuuuuun! -

It's called dropping a hint. Like the man said, the fact it was even mentioned means it has something to do with Blackbeard's body. Whether it's his family trait, he's some unkown subrace, a devil fruit changed him or something else, it's unkown. Having someone have 2 devil fruits was something unheard of in the world of OP until then.
As for Marco's speculation, I've seen 2 translations. One in which he wonders if it's because BB's atypical build/body and one in which he says he has an atypical b/b as everyone in WB crew should know (paraphrased it). Which one is the correct one?

Going off of what Marco said and basing a theory just off of that is not much to go on and someone could make many interpretations of Marcos comment. You could say maybe his body is different because he is a D. or his body is atypical because he's Luffy's fat, sex changed, momma.
Then you have the group of bro's that believe he steals devilfruits with his devilfruit which I disagree with. -

You don't understand fiction, do you? Speculation is right about 99% of the time.
Why would Oda bother drawing Marco saying something false? Ask yourself that.
And if you're going to prove it wrong, you gotta show at least a hint that it is wrong. No one tried to correct Marco or question his speculation.
I mean, when you have random mooks doing exposition for us, how can you say Marco isn't right to some extent? Are you saying that Oda made Marco trick us readers?
Oda wanted Marco to drop a hint, not speak irrelevant nonsense (because there would be no point in that).

I believe for a while that one of the reason that BB could eat two fruits was because of his love for Apple Pie, all this happened after CC's experiment though
If you don't care, then why are you replying?
Isn't that obvious, is because I don't like to leave people hanging.

Going off of what Marco said and basing a theory just off of that is not much to go on and someone could make many interpretations of Marcos comment. You could say maybe his body is different because he is a D. or his body is atypical because he's Luffy's fat, sex changed, momma.
Then you have the group of bro's that believe he steals devilfruits with his devilfruit which I disagree with.Well Marco essentially just narrowed it down for us. It's not because of something recent, like Darkness logia. It's something that makes him special and the rest of his former crew realized it. Whether he has a siamese twin stuck on him somewhere, or he has super regeneration speed, or he's a different sub-race not widely known, or he was experimented on is left to guessing.
As for the act of stealing abilities, it could have something to do with his logia, or maybe it's a procedure that anyone could do if they knew how. The blanket he covered WB with might have been used to cover what he was doing so nobody could duplicate the procedure or it was just a red herring to make people think it's not about his logia. I think it's either-or.
I'm hoping he didn't bring a fruit basket with him to Marineford, at least. Some knowledge about BB's past might shed some light on all of this. Like what is he really, and was he ever living in an environment in which he might have gained some obscure knowledge of devil fruits. We know at least that he got a hold of that devil fruit picture book at some point in his life. But it didn't seem like that thing was especially hard to get.
The other thing that might resolve whether what he did could be duplicated is finding out specifics of BB's devil fruit hunt. It was said he was on a hunt for devil fruit users with powerful abilities. So is he killing them and absorbing their abilities, or is he killing them and giving his crewmembers those abilities? If it's the latter, it probably doesn't have anything to do with his logia. Which would mean what he used on WB was a procedure other people could repeat.
Again, I hope to god it's not the fruit method. -
It's called dropping a hint. Like the man said, the fact it was even mentioned means it has something to do with Blackbeard's body.
It was mentioned because several characters were trying to figure out how he did what he did.
someone have 2 devil fruits was something unheard of in the world of OP until then.
How does this matter? The fact that BB found a way to do it negates any claim that's it's impossible. That's irrefutable fact.
@King:Ask yourself that.
A speculation isn't true or false. It's a mere theory.
That's like asking why people think that Chopper is a raccoon dog or why a character calls themselves invincible if it isn't true.
No one tried to correct Marco
Because it's speculation derp. No one knows what happened.
mooks doing exposition for us,
They give exposition on already established historical fact.
Oda wanted Marco to drop a hint
It's not a hint. It's speculation.

@Señor:
But that Doflamingo has more than logical reasons changes the whole view on Laws reasoning from the readers eye. The seriousness of revenge loses a lot of impact.
Not really the reasoning was you kill my mentor 13 years ago and it is payback. Since most readers like Corazon and will come to hate Dofla for killing him and therefore it will keep the impact. Plus the last chapter and this one gives weight to their relation so we can see why want would do it.
-
Just don't be too surprised when it turns out it was because of Blackbeard's body after all.
We've seen
hintsforeshadowings like this one thrown out enough to know it wasn't a non consequencial remark or a red herring. -
The thing about Doffy forcing Roci to eat the Ope Ope is that if it actually happened, there would be no way in hell Law would be able to find it again in time to cure himself in his actual state.

@The:
I'm slowly warming up to the fact that Corazon can talk, and with the things he did with his power, both the humorous and stealthy stuff, that really helped. In the end, no matter what happens, I'm going to have lingering disappointment that he wasn't mute. It seems so stupid, but it just seemed like a really wasted opportunity, and a mute, clumsy guy was an interesting way to do a character. Maybe some other time.
Some people are talking about how Doflamingo really cares about his brother, but I see it as something else. While there is no evidence, I get a creepy attachment vibe from Doflamingo to Corazon. Maybe it's because Corazon is his only other family member alive, and maybe he has an inkling that Corazon isn't like him. Doflamingo might've hoped to have Corazon become like him, but over the years he realized that wouldn't happen, and Law came along and he has a very similar past to Doflamingo, at least tragic wise. He decided Law would become his right hand man, and Corazon would sacrifice himself for Doflamingo, which is why Doflamingo would not want Corazon to die. This is based on nothing, and is a crazy speculation I came up with randomly. Most likely I'm just looking way to deep into things.
Overall, it was a nice chapter. Mostly humor with it looking like there's only a few chapters left of the flashback. I'm guessing 2-3, since 1 might be to short, but things have moved fast in the flashback so it's possible. Loved the small Garp cameo, and the mention of Kuzan.
i did see someone suggest that cora had selective mutism, although he's lacking of speech in certain situations doesn't seem anxiety-driven and is probably by choice. surely there's a type of mutism that fits his situation?
i see u on the cora/doflamingo bit. feems like doflamingo just likes having control over people, esp cora

A speculation isn't true or false. It's a mere theory.
That's like asking why people think that Chopper is a raccoon dog or why a character calls themselves invincible if it isn't true.
Character can still theorize about things in-universe, but it has to serve a plot purpose. If Marco turned out to be wrong, that wouldn't be the case, as his "theory" would end up not serving any sort of plot purpose.
Because it's speculation derp. No one knows what happened.
They give exposition on already established historical fact.
It's not a hint. It's speculation.
All details are relevant. This is Conservation of Detail.
Basically, if a speculation is not true to an extent, then don't bother showing it.
Do you really think Oda would waste time drawing Marco giving false information for us? It doesn't matter if it's a theory (remember that Marco is nothing but a fictional character. What he says is entirely for the author to decide). Fans speculating is one thing. Characters doing it is another, as they sometimes act as the will of the author.
Try to see things from a meta perspective. If Oda decided to draw it, it's because it's relevant and mostly true. He's not going to waste time drawing his characters talking meaningless speculations. He's a freaking human.
Chopper is a completely different case because he's clearly a reindeer and that's a confirmed fact.
In other words, it is a hint. We saw Teach getting 2 powers. The least Oda could do at the time is giving us hints about how that was possible. No point in not giving us false hints.
-
Dude, do you really think Oda would waste time drawing Marco giving false information for us?
When you decide to learn what a theory is come talk to me. I'm not about to keep repeating the same point over and over again since it keeps flying over your head.
Everything the author writes is not intended to be factual each and every time. Do you understand nothing about writing a story? -
Magi is surprisingly impressive at this type of discussions, he's either the author didn't say that clearly despite the actions implying it and should we actually trust what this character said. That's very impressive.
-

Definition of what theory is doesn't matter here. That's not the point. In-universe theories are not the same as out-universe ones.
Writing a story usually involves putting relevant details in it. If an important speculation turns out to be false, it's irrelevant, thus no point in it being in the story.
In other words, Oda had a reason to have Marco say that.
Magi is surprisingly impressive at this type of discussions, he's either the author didn't say that clearly despite the actions implying it and should we actually trust what this character said. That's very impressive.
And then he accuses others of not knowing how a story is written.
It's almost unbelievable.

If Corazon is really dead…I wonder if DD tracked down his fruit? I would like to see it being used in the present

@Buggy:

As much as Luffy loved his brother Doflamingo probably doesnt want to have every day reminder that he killed his brother for treason.
Though it would be cool to see that DF being used by somebody in current timeline.
I cant wait for more Drake- also I wonder if his small role in Laws flashback and fact that there are 2 samurais on Dressrosa and Momo on SH ship - if all of that hints to Kaido arc being directly next one in the line after Dressrosa?
Or that we will see Supernovas Alliance going after Big Mom? Law and Luffy would be lucky if Supernovas are also against Kaido but I dont know what Big Moms role in it would be then.
Far more amazing stuff than this flashback is incomming for sure. -
Blackbeard just took over all the threads, just as planned, next step, becoming king of the pirates zeeahahahs!!
Soo what's with Diamante and Sarquiss looking so alike?? Unwanted cousin maybe??

I remember about bomb but still Kaido has probably as bad temper if not worse than Big Mom and he is about to be cut off from Smile forever. Its comparable to bomb blowing up into your face in his case
For sure non of those Yonko will like to talk things through after Bomb exploding/ Smile deal breaking.

There is no more option but three-sided war Worst Gen vs BM Pirates vs Kaido's zoo.

Dunno if it was mentioned, Swallow Island seems to have the form of a bird.

And that bird is Swallow - name of island from name of bird.
And?
But seriously I didnt payed attention to it, thanks for pointing it out.

That is the reasoning I meant, Law knows that Corazon betrayed the family, so mentor or not, it is a big difference if you avenge a guy who was killed for a good reason or a guy which was killed for an unjustified reason.
-
We know that luffy still has to destroy fishmanisland.. I always figured it would be because big maam was pissed about the bomb but i dunno.. Having big maam and kaido in the same battle actually could be useful for luffy&law.. If BM and K have bad blood between them. Plus theres the kid apoo hawkins alliance thats after BM.. Its def gonna get interesting!
-

This makes me question Nami's resolves, will she leave the treasure on BM's ship If they defeat them and she knows that they're the ones who have the treasure
-
Btw. could someone tell me, how much Time is left till BMs Tea Party starts? And I hope this Party gives us the big reveal about the "Big Shot" who makes his turn. (I ve read something about it in an Interview). Or was this "Big Shot" Sabo? :(
Great Chapter. I wonder, if Cora-San really died. Law said it, but Doffy didnt confirmed it. And what happened to his DF if he died? I would really LOVE to see, after a great end of this marvelous Flashback and a great fight between Doffy and Luffy, that an lievlier Cora-San will finish his own Brother, right before hes up to defeat Luffy. I like the Character Cora-San more then nearly every new Character in this Manga in the past Years. It would be great that he is alive. And his DF is a perfect resource to camouflage his own Death. Law stabed him from behind and he is still alive. Maybe everyone thought that he must be dead, but he escaped damp and furtive. But why didnt he approached Law? Mhh, I hope hes alive :( -
Is Magi the new Vegabond, or a variation? Stubborn, doesn't listen to facts, overly confident in him/herself. They seem very similar, and that's not a good thing
-

It's obvious. Eternal life isnt used. You guys keep thinking about thats whats going to happen.
Law will eat the fruit and conduct an operation on himself removing the effects of amber lead like the kids in PH.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Then Dofla will kill Corazon for this. For Coras betrayal. Coras purpose was to keep Doflas anger at bay and prevent harm from coming to anyone. Law has taken Coras will.
I don't think Law is in any condition to do so nor has the knowledge.
-
I loved this chapter
-
-
At this point, it has to be either Law doing it himself or Iwankov popping out from somewhere. He's nearing his limit.
-
@MJR.:
I don't think Law is in any condition to do so nor has the knowledge.
There's no other option. The one who is going to eat the fruit is Law so only him can operate on himself.

She has no reason to leave it. They made no deal with Big Mom pirates. Luffy just decided to give away her gold and her captain already declared war on Big mom.

If worse comes to worst she can always ask Sanji to open it for her.

Is the bomb just gonna be a blow-up-in-your-face with a trolololol dance?
