Got the final trophy (for now, I guess) the beetle.
I'm pretty sure that I'll be ignoring the remaining hats, as the final 7 stickers that I'm still lacking in brawl.

What a travesty! Have you no fashion sense in a party fighting game??
But but but… I don't even know how many are there left.
And I bet most of them are ugly.
There's another DLC want: more mii accessories. Never thought that would be a thing I want, but my Stan Pines is just naked without a fez.

IIRC the number of custom moves to unlock are 376, the number of outfits to unlock are 12, and the number of hats to unlock are 45, and then you just cross check in the stats
List of possible tweaks found so far.
Yoshi no longer has armor on his aerials
Wario's weird vectoring is still present
Mega Buster (FSmash) now travels farther (Almost half the stage)
"The Conquest Chart will no longer be displayed when Conquest Mode is active."
ZSS Apparently nerfed, DSpecial and UpSpecial don't KO at 90%
Ness' DAir Meteors are easier to hit
Falcon DThrow easier to connect, knee also easier to connect
Possible upgrade in internet servers
Yoshi Ledge glitch unfixed
Ganon DTilt has a different trajectory. (From straight up to up and away)
They fixed ALL of Meta Knights hitbox problems
Sheik has little to no landing lag on her FAir
Shulk's FAir got a range increase, shorter landing lag
Robin's Arcfire lasts longer (probably a frame or two, never used her much)
DK's smashes come out faster (small amount)
Marth's ranges are slightly longer
There's another DLC want: more mii accessories. Never thought that would be a thing I want, but my Stan Pines is just naked without a fez.
It will be revealed that update 1.0.4 will be snazzy outfits

Only hats to go, but the drop rate is too low.
And I think that I already have more than that.
No armor on yoshi's aerials? What a travesty. Well, actually I didn't realize he had armor, so we'll see what that does for Yoshi and me now
Got 45 hats, and a notification of "you got all hats" ain't one.

The biggest problem I don't think is the drop rate itself but the drop rate of non-duplicates. Hell even character custom moves get fewer duplicates, which is pretty stupid for a thing you can't specifically farm for
That's an interesting list of changes, though my god why did Sheik need another buff.

Hats will now be found randomly online after playing for a certain amount of time. Update 1.0.5 will introduce the hat shop, where you can spend real money on hats, and a trading system, giving rise to an in-game economy.
You still won't be able to buy custom moves.

Oooh all that's left is the part where they start giving away the game.
YES! They're willing to do Balance updates!!!
This is awesome! Now, Nerf Little Mac's Super Armor some Sakurai. Please?
Oooh all that's left is the part where they start giving away the game.
They should do this when the Wii U release makes the 3DS version worthless.

I agree. Then I can get free Mewtwo.
Got 45 hats, and a notification of "you got all hats" ain't one.
Man I don't remember how many hats were available at the beginning, but it seems there are actually 55 hats in total, so I guess you're pretty close…?

It's not even COMPARABLE!!
I honestly feel ripped off and it's a testament to the quality of the game that it's making me reevaluate buying a Wii U instead of disowning the franchise.

This.
My main issue is that if I get it european, I get no mewtwo, but american will be more expensive for the shipping.

Not to act smug but I kinda saw it coming, and it's part of why I was pretty adamant in staying away from the 3DS version. There was just no way it was going to be the full experience, no matter how hard they tried. That's also why it makes me so mad to hear about things getting cut because they wouldn't work on 3DS, and makes me really wonder if they'd only been focusing on a single title with a single budget, what else they could have pulled off.

I'm sure they'll sell him (and possibly other content) separately, for less than the price of importing an American system.

Honestly, I would have been in your boat, too, if it weren't for the fact that I didn't plan on having a Wii U for a while. The Wii U version was always going to be better, but figured the 3DS version would at least have substantial content to justify planning a same day release for them, originally. I never thought the 3DS version, though, would be so barren of single player content despite being the handheld and most likely to be a single player experience version of the game.
I'm almost glad they didn't get released at the same time so that I actually had time to play the game with people here before the grand exodus to the Wii U version. That's about the only thing I've gotten out of buying this $40 demo.
I though that it was obvious that the 3DS wouldn't be anywhere close to how good the wii u one will be. While some changes to compensate do suck (Ice climbers, more returning 3 pikmin) some have been cool (seperation of shiek and zss, portable smash).
The 3DS version has a few perks for me. First, my bro is more Sony that nintendo, so a 2DS would be an easier purchase to justify than a wii u just for Smash. Second, portable smash, yo.
Other than that yeah, the Wii U version was always going to be the "most legit" version
@Purple:

Basically for people like Wagomu
There is only a single character I want and a single stage I want. And I can pay the price of the game, 60$, just for these two alone as a DLC.
Hunter from Monster Hunter and a stage. That is all. I shall cry and probably never be able to play due to happiness, but this'll be everything I'll ever need from Smash.
Turns out Meta Knight's hitboxes still haven't been fixed. Makes me wonder which things people have found that Robby posted actually got patched
Speaking of the community being the best thing about 3DS Smash, y'all should head down to the #APSmash channel at https://kiwiirc.com/client more often. Just to chat or to set up Smash games. It's been mostly been Mugen, Foolio, occasionally Rin and myself and Foolio doesn't even have the 3DS version. You'll love it, it's a way of life.

I've tried to get on for sometime but it just brings me into a completely new channel when I try

Are you choosing the Rizon server first and specifically typing in #APSmash for the channel? We're on it right now and it's working fine.

ah that where I messed up never noticed the server list on right side of the webpage.
There's 55 hats, but you start off with 7 already. So if you've collected them all, your stats will say 48 next to headgear.
And has Smash ever been a worthy single-player experience in the past? Nope….so I don't get what all the fuss is about
Its single player experience isn't the selling point, but pretty much every step since melee has been continuously degrading the experience
-Adventure mode (which is still super fun) -> Subspace Emissary (a kirby game with smash characters that didn't really work all that well) -> Smash Run/Tour
-Break the Targets (tailored to each character) -> Break the targets (tailored to difficulty levels) -> Angry break the targets
-Event Matches (which are pretty much what if scenarios with smash characters and tailored to certain characters) -> event matches (which lacked that tailored aspect to characters and an event 51 clone that wasn't nearly as endearing) -> Event matches (have yet to judge, the wii u's grid seems like an interesting design, but at least on the 3ds there are no event maps at all?)
-All Star mode (continual degradation kinda based on the format because of the increasing size of the roster, but then it becomes a question of whether or not they should figure some way to innovate the design to fit the current standard)
The multiman melee modes? Yeah, not so fun, but now they've designed challenges around beating certain ones with every character, which is pretty damn stupid when the thing gets stale after one character. Home run contest? Pretty lame. But overall single player smash does generally have something to offer

Yeah it's too bad. Of course another part of my decision was not wanting to do the collectibles thing twice.
I though that it was obvious that the 3DS wouldn't be anywhere close to how good the wii u one will be. While some changes to compensate do suck (Ice climbers, more returning 3 pikmin) some have been cool (seperation of shiek and zss, portable smash).
I think everyone knew the Wii U one would be more feature-complete etc, but the difference is more huge than expected, and the 3DS version is more lacking in content than expected.
Played melee's adventure mode a couple of times, I don't get why people like it.
The 3DS version is pretty awesome as it is. Could it be even better ? Sure. But I don't regret for a second buying it.
Being able to play everywhere with that huge roster (bigger than I expected) and with decent online play was definitely worth making that version. The IC cut is unfortunate but that won't change my opinion.
And when I see the amount of content of the WiiU version has, I'm glad that, besides that cut, it didn't prevent that version to be even more awesome.
I'm gettiing the WiiU this week and I'm planning to buy the WiiU version as well. But I know I'm still going to play the 3DS version because it will serve a different purpose for me.
I don't regret getting the 3DS version, but I would have very much preferred that it hadn't gotten made and all focus had gone to make the Wii U one as perfect as possible.
Instead it feels like we got two flawed (still good though!) products.
The wii u version doesn't seem flawed to me
Oh yea? Target blast

Sorry, I've been busy, and whenever I log in, I usually only see Galaxy there. I do want more matches, that's for sure.

You're just mad you can't break all the red targets. :ninja:
The immediate appeal of Angry Birds is casual fun you can do from time to time on the go wherever you go with unique, multiple levels with different types of birds and angles of trajectory that you can actually have an effect. (not that I find it particularly engaging, but those are the highlights)
Target Blast is literally the same layout over and over and over and over again without any real, conceptual idea of how to really finesse control of the mass destruction you may or may not cause
I can't follow that popular "if the 3DS version didn't exist, we would have more content on the WiiU version" opinion.
Besides the IC cut of course, there's no way to conclude that WiiU players missed anything because of that version.
That was a legimate worry when the games were announced (that the roster may not increase or even decrease) but the final roster proved that worry was unfounded.
Anyway, having that "what if" state of mind only leads to disappointment.
If the 3DS version didn't exist…
I, and at least two of my friends, would never play the game at all, ever.
I get a little tired entirely speculation based "what if", Ice Climbers aside.

A few of us are consistently on late in the EST. A whole bunch of us were on last night. Keeping the chat open in a tab or something helps, since sometimes it takes people being online for people to want to be online, haha.

The 3DS version definitely meant a lot more development time had to be focused on it. At the very least, a Wii U only release would have meant an earlier release. It's not a stretch, though, to think that with the same budget and resources available as they had for doing both versions, the efforts would turn out a better product as just a single game, since the scope of things they could do in the same time would have broadened.
Really?
After what Nintendo showed, you people are still whining? No, Smash wouldn't be better if it was only on Wii U. Stop it, it's just annoying reading stuff like that - let's change the topic to literally ANYTHING ELSE.
That's looking things backwards.
The budget was determined knowing there were 2 games to be developed. There wasn't a set budget for a SSB sequel and then they decided to share that budget developing 2 games instead of one.
There's no way Nintendo would have spent the same budget they did for only one game.
I can only agree that the game could have been released earlier (Sakurai basically confirmed that).
