Anyway, I'm assuming that Doffy's calling Cora because Vergo snitched on him for working with Sengoku.
seems unlikely that info could get out so easily.

@Señor:
Simple prediction: Flamingo tells Corazon he found the Ope-Ope Fruit. At Donquixote base Flamingo holding the fruit in his hand is waiting with Vergo for them. When they arrive Corazon is debunked as a traitor by Vergo, Corazon somehow manages to get hold of the fruit and feeds it to Law. Doflamingo kills Corazon while Vergo gives Law the beating of his life. End.
it doesn't make sense since Law attacked Vergo with his Devil Fruit meaning that he didn't eat the fruit and use it right away, the way Flamingo mentioned the beating heavily implies that Law had some time with his fruit, so is either Law eats in the next chapter sometime passes and at the end of the same chapter Corazon is debunked.
was waiting for kureha to make a surprise appearance.
Ha, that crossed my mind too.
It says 君臨する正義 "kunrin suru seigi." I'd say "Supreme Justice" or "Reigning Justice." Kunrin means to reign, excercise authority, hold sway over and such.
More difficult than you think, it's likely 君臨する正義 - Reigning Justice.
Likely Sengoku's motto. (as opposed to lazy justice, through justice, etc)I've just never seen 臨 simplified like that on brush.
I see, thank you both very much!
@Devil:
I agree. By the way, could you answer me this, please?:

I can't be the only one feeling this whole flashback chapters have been absolutely the best chapters in this entire arc.
I'd even say the best chapters after the time skip. I didn't find FI's flashback this engaging.
What an amazing chapter!
So Corazon really has the duty of keep kids away from Dofla family, that was already clear. But working with Sengoku? That's new (I don't know yet if a like it).
More explanations and more mysteries about the D family.
I think Vergo will tell Dofla about Corazon's relationship with the Marines and that'll be the motive of his death. Poor Roccy.
The call is Doflamingo telling (lying) about finding a cure for Law's illness, calling him back immediately. The cure is of course the Ope Ope no Mi. I don't know if he already has it or if Corazon/Law will search the fruit around the world, but I'm excited to see the panel where Law makes a room and looks for the disease recently purged from his body with a intrigued face. __
No words for this episode. So intense. So amazing. I'm loving this flashback.
Maybe he gave them initial info about crew members before he found out Vergo's name?
"Vergo" was probably reported as "Corazon"…
Anyway, I'm assuming that Doffy's calling Cora because Vergo snitched on him for working with Sengoku.
it wouldn't make much sense since vergo just arrived at the marine HQ and now it's going to the G-5 section..it's not like he has the time to investigate about something he doesn't even know it's happening.
What does Arare mean? Is that Sengoku's code name?? or his first name?
From the context I get there, it's what Rosinante is calling Sengoku. They avoid making any reference to the Marines in the conversation, so I'd take that as a code name. Arare is a kind of rice snack like sembei but smaller, kind of like hailstones(which also called arare in Japanese).
Sengoku has been shown to like Japanese-style snacks. In this chapter, as he's talking on the Den Den Mushi, you can see ボリボリ(boribori, munching/crunching sound) next to his mouth and it looks like he's eating something.
I can't be the only one feeling this whole flashback chapters have been absolutely the best chapters in this entire arc.
Nawp, I'm feeling the same way. What I'm taking away from this flashback, is that Oda still delivers excellence whenever he narrows his focus and tackles one thing at a time…as opposed to montage-like chapters covering a plethora of plotthreads all at once, condensing them into bite-size scenes. Another good example being the whole chapter dedicated to Usopps sniping of Sugar.
@Light:
Yeah this felt kind of awkward for me too. Doffy is a rotten bastard, but he had hellova srewed-up life to blame for it. Am I really supposed to think the kid is evil because he wants to kill the people who are torturing him for something other World Nobles did? And he still cares of his crew and late mother for what it's worth.
Doffy has done a lot more than just wanting to kill the people that were torturing him. Including taking part in those same acts that the other world nobles did.
And him seeming to be friendly to his crew falls right in along with, "Besides the 4 executives, they don't know his true nature."
I also hated how Oda wrote the doctors in in this chapter, with complete lack of bedside manners, he portrayed them as ugly, cowards and assholes, and the nurses looking like kama-baka residents.
from someone with doctors family relatives, i say shame on you oda.
rest of the chapter is amazing.
What does Arare mean? Is that Sengoku's code name?? or his first name?
Maybe "Arare" is the admiral name of Sengoku :wassat:

weren't law parents both doctors and both good and beautiful doctors?
i think it's more a shot against people ignorance and prejudices that to doctors..we had awesome doctors in this series ,just think about people like kureha, or crocus

couldn't it just be it's real name?I don't remember if Oda ever revealed it.

Chapter 730 will forever be the GOAT chapter
"Vergo" was probably reported as "Corazon"…
Yeah, that's what I meant.
Before he found out Vergo's real name.

Cool! Thx. Of course Oda would include a pun in an alias…
Even though we know Roccy will die and Law will get the Ope Ope no mi. I just find it awesome that Oda has us guessing even more now than before. Roccy is obviously linked to Sengoku, but he doesn't know what Vergo's top secret mission is. The fact that the marines showed up right after he took Law should be suspicious itself. So how is it all going to go down now? Here we go again. Good Job Oda. 8/10

Sengoku seems to be eating while he's on the den-den mushi, and arare is a type of bite sized japanese cracker…that's the only connection I can find...but I don't speak japanese lol
Edit : ninja'd
He's a marine. Great plot twist. Even better that it was hinted in the spread.
@Medical:
So how is Rocinante pronounced?
https://translate.google.com/#en/es/rocinante press the speaker button and you'll get an idea.
It's like /rro - ze - nan - teh / (I'm Spanish, that's my best try, I don't know how to write Englishly pronounced syllables) The main keys are the first "r" which is pronounced in a "hard way" and the "ci", which is a sound I think English does not have, like a "zip" but softer.
Edit:

How could Law hear Corazón (and viceversa) if he was inside the sound-proof sphere and Law was out?
We actually got a little insight to the "D." perhaps the "D." How interesting. Sp basically it sounds like the "D." are the reverse Celestial Dragons

Kureha, Chopper, Law's parents, and Law himself
That's why I hate flashbacks. You get to know and like a character that you know is going to die for sure next.
And this chapter lacks something… Jimbei cover!
Kureha, Chopper, Law's parents, and Law himself
i know about them. but i still didnt like how the normal everyday doctors were portrayed in this chapter, really? all of them were afraid of law's disease?
it makes you wonder how would they react if an actual epidemic spread.
I find it interesting that Doflamingo has a fucked up past but that he had always been a bastard from the start. Right, all he went through didn't help at all, but Roci went through the same things and still ended up being a decent person. Dofla's tragic backstory makes us understand him better, but it doesn't justify him.
Also Hiluluk, and the Isshin-20.
I ignored Hiluluk because while an amazing character, he really wasn't a good doctor, and the isshin-20 weren't really positive characters

The lesson here is:
If you're a luxury hospital doctor, you're an asshole.
If you're a village doctor, you're swell.
If you're a quack doctor, you should be sanctified.
I could be wrong, but don't you think that D. might stand for Devil? As in, the enemy of God?
Doesn't mean they are really devils, just that an ancient kingdom clan, to oppose those that started calling themselves gods, decided to use the name devil.
I ignored Hiluluk because while an amazing character, he really wasn't a good doctor, and the isshin-20 weren't really positive characters
If I remember well, they were forced to tend to Wapol because he threatened their families. They couldn't have been happier when he was beaten.

Never said they were really bad characters either. More just neutral
Man, that was a good chapter, I have to say that I enjoyed the interactions between Cora san and Law.

I agree wholeheartedly. Those last few chapters have been most enjoyable. Actually reminds me why I liked One Piece in a first place.
Now, I have a bad felling that ain't going to last, but hey, we can't have everything.
Short appearance from Sengoku was fun. Makes me want to see more of him. Altough I'm pretty sure we won't.
I can't be the only one feeling this whole flashback chapters have been absolutely the best chapters in this entire arc.
That and Sabo's intro chapter were the best of the entire timeskip IMO. I am dreading Core-san's death scene… Considering the things that have happened to Law already and knowing how his only positive in his life will be dead soon also makes me think this is the most dreadful of all flashbacks. This flashback explains quite a bit why Law is such a grim bastard as well, but it's also making him a lot more likeable.
Kureha, Chopper, Law's parents, and Law himself
And Crocus, Nako, Potsun, That guy who treated Lucci, Aladdin…
And Crocus, Nako, Potsun, That guy who treated Lucci, Aladdin…
I can't believe I forgot some of those people
Hogback was a good doctor.
For a while.
Reading the spoilers I couldn't resist reading the Mangapanda scan. Sounded great and it was.
"I'll kill you all! One by one!"
He's pretty much my favorite villain in the series at this point. So interestingly human despite being a monster. Like, why wouldn't someone want revenge for the torture they've gone through, especially if they experienced it as a 8-year-old? Why wouldn't this burn deep into a kid's mind, doesn't matter how "spoiled" they were or weren't? Children don't know any better by themselves, they are shaped by their environment.
So, if we go by the theme Oda seems going for with the ancient weapons - Uranus, Poseidon, Pluton. Not sure if this has any relevance here, but…. basically in Greek mythology the biggest enemy (or best known) of Gods were the Titans. Granted, the gods eventually overthrew them, but the Titans weren't killed, they were just banished to the underworld. Also, they were the original rulers, their rule was a "golden age" until Cronus screwed everything up because he started eating all his children because he was afraid of losing his power (which he got in the first place.. by castrating his father Uranus), that is what ended up getting them all banished/defeated by the gods in the first place. Ah, mythology. I'm not sure if I got all the details right, but it's something like that, not sure if it's relevant here or if Oda will end up using some of these elements, but it rang some bells.
Also, Rocinante is a marine spy? That's another nuts relevantion. He also quite grew on me this chapter, he's really fun with his quirks and sweet for caring for Law, I'm gonna be sad when he dies.
I also felt really bad for Law. "Look, I'm not human anymore." :(
I friggin love this chapter. What a great flashback so far.
So, while we are asking questions… what written on the sail of the marine battleship chasing Doffy?

Yeah, but the thing is, Roci went through the same torture, but was still able to become a "normal" person.
This suggests that Doula did have some screws loose even before that scene.
Fantastic chapter. This flashback has been some of the best since the time skip, it really brings back the feel of classic One Piece, somehow. And I'll have to admit, its wonderful seeing a new marine character presented in good light for once. And frikking SENGOKU, I forgot how much I loved this man. And his goat.
Overall, I absolutely adore Corazon, and Law becomes more and more interesting and fleshed out for every chapter. Such a nice blend of innocent child and devilish murderer. Cora is simply a nice guy with an actual interesting personality and history. Furthermore, its nice seeing how Doffy is the pure-evil kind of villain even with a sad past. He isn't "hatred incarnated" like Hody, but just because he had a flashback doesn't mean he's suddenly forgiven. Definely a good thing, I'm getting a bit tired of the symphatic/comedy villains in most media. There are people out there who are through and through jerks, and it'll be very satisfying when Luffy finally punches Doffy to his demise.
Yeah, but the thing is, Roci went through the same torture, but was still able to become a "normal" person.

He's the one who picked up on the behaviour of the celestial dragons, so it's a bigger shock for him. I like the line that Rocinante says to Law - "don't become a monster like him", so in the end it isn't just that he "had a few screws loose", he was shaped by his environment. I really liked that, but at the same time none of his actions are excused here. They are merely given a reason. Great stuff.
Yeah, but the thing is, Roci went through the same torture, but was still able to become a "normal" person.

Honestly? That's mental stability that borders mental illness.
Doffy, on the other hand, shows usual signs of psychopathy, if not for caring about his crew. Unless he doesn't and it's all an act.
I ignored Hiluluk because while an amazing character, he really wasn't a good doctor, and the isshin-20 weren't really positive characters
He wasn't ugly, a coward or an asshole though.
The Isshin 20 didn't choose to be with Wapol though, they were certainly portrayed more positively by the end of Drum Island and were unequivocally great doctors.
I like when little Doffy shouted that he will kill every single one who tortured him there.
By the way wtf with Vergo hair. Remind me to Helmeppo

On that panel were Roci (Rosi?) talks about how fucked up Dofla is I was like "How wouldn't he be fucked up after all he went through, you are the crazy one for not changing a single bit after that" lol
Man, I loved the chapter, Roci's clumsiness still gets me every time, Law saying he would buy an ice cream for Buffalo then right way asking Baby 5 to lend him some money, cute little baby Dellinger setting up the cannon and Vergo's (his hair looks like Helmeppo's at start of the series) return was too much to me.
One thing that's bugging me is how Roci's chin looks diferent in almost every single panel, he looks so much better with a more pointy chin then a round one.
I have doubts Corazon actually physically recruited himself to the Marine's services in person. He most likely contacted Sengoku through covert means (Cipher Pol?) and maybe arranged a meeting with a fellow Marine agent.
I also think Vergo's Mission is to find traitors in the family.
Vergo is an interesting wild card here. He's certainly the reason why I don't think Corazon known to by a spy by only a handful of Marines, otherwise Vergo would have blown his cover fast. Also, it seems Vergo's mere presence at Marine HQ is unknown even to him.
At any rate, it's clear Vergo will be the one to blow his cover. His promotion will likely equate to gaining access to such intel.
One odd thing though…Vergo never changed his name when joining the Marines. Wouldn't Corazon have told Sengoku about Vergo given his rank as one of Doflamingo's officers?
