Definitely a good chapter, though I wasn't captivated by the first read. The second did the trick. And I went through it a third time already. Guess it was good indeed!
I have some qualms about it, though. First, it felt a bit short. Second, I wasn't 100% satisfied by the dialogue going on. Maybe it felt a bit stale? I don't know. And third, I hoped for a bit of fight coreography when Bellamy and the clone attacked Luffy and Law. It has to do with Oda's current panneling and stuff, most panels being too small and yet crowded, fitting both Law parrying a Dofla clone slash AND Luffy dodging Bellamy in a very small panel, but, yeah, I like the first moments of a fight to be dynamic and featuring some back and forth. Though I know what was the defining moment of the chapter and it obviously gets a pass cause. . .
. . . the last 2 double-spreads MORE than made up for it. Strategy was apparently simple, though I needed to read that a couple of times to trully understand how the switch worked. Starting with a freaking Red Hawk from the get-go perfectly compensates Luffy's previous attempts at hit Dofla being kinda half-assed (though only cause his jet gattling apparently didn't have any CoA), and Doffy eating it up like a champ is definitely a good way to start things up. And, gotta admit, Law looked mighty boss sitting on Dofla's seat and smiling at Trébol like "hi there, idiot!".
Also, this is the second mostly focused chapter in a row, and it shows. It gives Oda a chance to develop the situation, to properly build up towards the money shots, and we're all the better for this.
All in all, pretty good chapter, though not as brilliant as last week's. But that'll be pretty fucking HARD to top anytime soon.
