Goddamnit GameFreak, Just give every pokemon a mega already.
Also, WHO SAID THE EVOLUTIONARY LINE OF SLOWPOKE ENDED WITH SLOWKING?!A lot of people apparently, Slowbro doesn't evolve to Slowking but apparently a lot of people in Serebii though sure(not sure you do also).
They were like "SO THIS MEANS NON FULLY EVOLVED POGEYMAN GET MEGAS NOW!" and people be like "Slowbro is a final evolution!".
Guys dont worry to much about "the shelder is eating Slowbro" mega evo is temporary.

Well, it'd been assumed Audino would get fairy typing before. That works. I also assume it'll get even crazier defenses now? (It was already a more balanced less extreme Chancey). Oh well, its the first Mega of the new set I kinda like… and finally sets a precedent for gen 5 getting some tweaks.
Healer though? Blech. It already had that! Regenerator is a much better ability. (Actually, they BOTH have Regenerator as an ability...)
Also, if Slowbro gets a Mega... what about Slowking?
Come on Emolga, Mienfuu, Lilligant, Scolipede, Renucleus, Golurk, Ferrothorn, Druddigon, and Purrloin! (Or an Archeops that just loses its awful ability...)

Well at least it's good to see Pokemon across the Gens getting new megas (despite this being a Gen III remake).
Audino's honestly looks great….Slowbro's made me laugh. In a good way.

I actually like these megas. Slowbro's looks hilarious, and Audino's looks like an actual evolution. Shame it won't get one, but design-wise it's probably one of the best megas introduced.

I just realized that this remake of Ruby/Sapphire is only a excuse to throw more megas that they couldn't put in XY. Not that its a bad thing though.

They made the reamake because they wanted to, they could have made another game, they already said Johto starters are coming in 2015, so its probably going to be Z content.
The megas are a way to add new pokemon without raising the dex number since that only happens when a new region happens.

:D well with the secret bases we can put a guy with 5 Blissey and a Mega Audino all level 100 just for training(I think Blissey gives more exp than Audino).

Presumably because it's still far too early for certain Pokemon to get new canonical evolutions.

Because that would raise the dex count… and they obviously feel at this point 750+ is a bit overwhelming. Why we "only" got 70 new things last gen... but got like 30 megas.
Plus, megas balance mons differently. Since it uses up an item slot they can be stated differently... since they lose leftovers, ability, and choice items and whatnot. Lets them make the megas mostly broken.

What Robby said plus the alternative is the silly item evolution that was rampant in Gen IV. I much prefer the mega route

PLUS, even though they didn't run with it, the fact that some critters like Charizard and Mewtwo had X and Y stones… and they're tossing in ancient "Primal" modes... gives them a ton of leeway to mess with old favorites for generations to come (AND keep them exclusive to earlier games!). They can just do actual alt modes to address old problems instead of making brand new things.. or having a mon's evolution be 250 numbers after the rest of its family.
We could end up with 4+ versions of any one mons final form now... as they see fit. (Primal Charizard would not surprise me. At all. If they didn't already have two megas to push.)
If they'd had this in BW we might have gotten Mega Sandslash with steel typing instead of Excadrill, for instance, or Mega Blissey instead of Audino, or Mega Golbat instead of Swoobat, etc. Hell, even my favorite Emolga mighta been a mega Plusle or something.

I always liked Audino. Great moves(like Heal Pulse and Simple Beam), but terrible addition to any team. A new form does help, and I'm kinda pondering over teams that would work with a mega with a slot taken up solely for support.
Well, this is good news considering it's a mega from Gen 5. Without a doubt my favorite gen set. We probably won't get a ton until maybe a Gen 5 remake… in billion years.

I am not saying they should give it an evolution NOW, after all completely new pokémon are only presented once a new Generation comes. What I say is, why give it a Mega evolution instead of waiting until the next gen to give it a proper one?

Z will have more megas and they already gave a lot to other gens so I can see Z focusing on 5/6gen, I'm saying Z because next year another game will probably come out and it won't be a new generation since we got atleast two more years of event legendaries, the anime is still in the second badge, etc.

I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

Either Z or XY2 its going to come out, I'm not jumping in any bandwagon, I told you guys about the next gen coming out and a lot of people were doubting me, like I said the biggest indication just like last gen was they gave Genesect right after Meloetta because its movie was going to be release almost at the same time the 6gen would come out, so they wanted people to actually have time to use a 5gen pokemon in the 5gen, so once again by the anime and movie schedule like I said in the other post, the kid is in his 2nd badge they seem to be taking this generation pretty slow anime wise so we still have two more years of this generation ahead of us.
So yeah a new game should come out next year, unless they just decide they wont release anything else and will start working on the 7thgen right away, which I doubt.

Pokemon Z is definitely coming out. It's free money and they've done it literally every other time. It's also pretty clear they held off on features from X/Y to put in Z, given how bare-bones the postgame stuff was.
Hum the horse racing game? I think its a mobile game and its out already I believe in Japan atleast.

Gamefreak is owned by Nintendo isn't it? I don't think they'd be developing mobile games.
Also these new megas are ugly as sin but that's not exactly surprising. Mega Salamence is almost as bad as Tyranitar, godamn.
